A/N: So, since it's Easter weekend, Happy Easter, and here's an Easter chapter. I may or may not post a part two to this chapter. It was supposed to be included IN the chapter, but I'm writing this at like mid night, so we'll see if I have time tomorrow, considering it's Easter Sunday and I'll be with family most of the day.
Easter was approaching and Layla's belly was getting bigger. She and Sora were relaxing in the living room at the moment, Sora having her head rested lightly on Layla's belly, listening for any sound she could get. Layla looked on with amusement at Sora's concentrated expression.
"You're not going to hear much... And the baby isn't kicking yet"
Sora perked up and made a sound which Layla couldn't quite place.
"So? I wanna listen... This is my niece or nephew here" She paused for a moment in thought before grumpily exclaiming "I still can't believe you refuse to know the gender! How are you going to name them?"
Layla sighed but smiled.
"I have a few names for each gender in mind, but I plan to chose which one is the best once I see the child"
Sora pouted.
"I still say you should name them Sora... It would fix the problem"
"We have already discussed this, I am not naming my child Sora"
Sora grumbled a little and laid her head back on Layla's tummy. Layla shook her head and began petting Sora's hair. She loved moments like these, where it was just her and Sora. It was such a nice feeling, to know there was a sister figure out there to share moments like these with. She was truly happy that she could spend more time with Sora now that her current circumstance required that she stay in Cape Mary, and happy that her child would have an auntie figure to look up to.
Leon opened the door and walked in silently. He had been out shopping, and came in carrying a couple bags in his arm. Kicking the door closed he smiled at the sight the two girls made.
Leon walked up to Layla and gave her a kiss on the lips before heading into the kitchen to put the groceries away.
"What did you get Leon?" Sora called sleepily, enjoying the petting of her head.
"A few necessities, and some chocolate for gifts at Easter" Leon called back semi quietly.
"Oh... I don't celebrate Easter... You give chocolate?"
"Most people do. Some people give marshmallow treats"
"Ohhhh"
Leon walked back into the living room with a smirk.
"Yes... I had already bought some, however, somebody ate it" He wrapped his arms around Layla's neck and chuckled as she scowled at him.
"Well excuse me. Baby wanted chocolate, and what baby wants, baby gets"
"You are going to spoil the child rotten" Leon growled and pressed his lips to hers.
"Umm, hello! I'm still here you know" Sora complained from Layla's lap.
Both of them broke away and laughed.
The couple had sent Sora on her way the night before and slept well.
It was now Good Friday. Though Layla's father wasn't quite a religious man, Leon had always celebrated the holiday with his more religious sister. So, they had made their way over to the mansion to have a special fish dinner with Mr. Hamilton.
Part way through the dinner Richard Hamilton looked up and ginned at Leon, to which the silver haired man had given a curious look. Layla looked confused at it, not knowing what could be going on in her father's mind. Mr. Hamilton however, straightened up and gave a sort of sly yet prideful look as he spoke.
"Leon?" He addressed "Do you remember that 'special project' I told you I was working on?"
Realization washed across Leon's face and he grinned back... Much to Layla's dismay, not having a clue what her father was talking about.
"Yes. Is there something I should know about it?"
Mr. Hamilton smirked "It's finished"
Leon beamed and they both turned to Layla, who was about ready to burst out in anger at the secrecy right in front of her.
"Layla, sweet heart" Her father began "Me and Leon have a surprise for you"
Leon continued for him and Layla's attention switched to him "You're father asked me what sorts of homes you had been looking at, and which ones were you're favourites. So I took the magazines with the homes you had circled in red and said that you liked, and I gave them to him"
Richard picked up where Leon had left off "With the pictures you circled I hired a professional to make a floor plan for a new house, and bought the land and hired a team to build it... The home is finished and completely painted and furnished. I hope you like it"
Layla's jaw dropped. She honestly didn't know what to say. Was she honestly about to get her dream home?
"I... Father I..." She shook her head and got up, walking around the table to give her father a hug "Thank you"
Her father patted her on the back and replied "You're welcome Pumpkin... We will go see the new house tomorrow. You two can rest here for tonight"
Another sleep later and they were on their way to the new home in one of Mr. Hamilton's limos. The lot her father had bought was fairly close to Kaleido Stage, but still on the outskirts where you could consider it almost country side. Upon stepping out of the limo, Layla was awestruck from just the view of the front yard.
The house itself looked to be about two stories, with shimmering grey, silver'ish looking bricks. The roof was black and there was clearly a chimney on the left side, indicating a fireplace within. The door was black with blue stain glass down the middle and on each side.
On the lawn itself there was a small fountain to the left and a flower bed to the right. Down the middle was a grey stone walkway, which swerved a little in a snake like fashion for the sake of style. On the right on the garden was the driveway, in which A black minivan was already parked under a small garage, the garage door being open at the moment.
"There's a vehicle in the garage" Layla stated curiously.
"Yes" Her father said with a smile "It is yours. I figured you would need a family vehicle as well as a family home. Come, look inside" He walked over and opened the driver's side door.
Layla peered in. The inside was a nice beige with leather seats. In the back on the roof there was a small built in T.V and DVD player.
And on one of the seats behind the driver's seat, there was a red car seat/Baby carrier, with a retractable hood for shade.
"Come" Mr. Hamilton said gently, putting a hand on Layla's back "You have yet to see the inside"
Leon held the door open as they walked in and followed after, closing the door gently as he looked around.
The main foyer had a bright chandelier hanging in the middle. A spiral staircase led to the upstairs portion on the right. To the left was a wide hallway, with two openings, one on each side. The foyer was a nice white colour, stain glass doors led to a balcony at the back in front of one's view upon entering, also a closet to the left of the door.
When they walked down the hallway, they turned right into one of the rooms. It was a living room, painted a dark maroon red. A fireplace situated on the left gave off a small glow from the tiny pilot light. A book large book case stood against the far wall to the right. Two red, swayed leather couches sat in the middle of the room, on with it's back facing the doorway and a television in front of it, the other facing the fireplace while it's armrest touched that of the other couch. An end table sat between the arms of the couches while a coffee table sat in front of the couches.
Layla's jaw was about ready to hit the floor. Leon merely looked impressed. He hadn't gotten a chance to see the inside himself yet, saying that it would be best if he and Layla saw it at the same time.
Mr. Hamilton guided them across the hall into the kitchen, painted beige and with an attached dinning area. A chandelier hung in the dining area, a smaller one than in the main foyer, while a regular light was placed on the roof of the kitchen area.
All together the kitchen was nice, with brown marble counters lining all walls, a stove at the far end and a fridge closest to the door. There was an island in the middle, and a small separation between the kitchen and dining room, with glass on top of the beige painted wall. Though, Layla not being much of a cook, A kitchen was a kitchen to her. Even though she had to admit it was beautiful.
Layla's father guided the upstairs, where they peered into the room on the single right, an office type room for private computer sessions away from any child. The room had very little decoration, and was painted a lighter red colour than the deep maroon of the living area. After quickly peering into the office, they walked down the long hallway to the left.
At the end they reached three doors, the left one was opened to reveal a nice, sparkling whit bathroom with a big tub and separate shower. The toilet was in the far right corner, hidden by the shower, the sink across from the toilet. A big mirror was on the wall in front of the sink, taking up the whole part of the wall that wasn't over the bathtub.
They opened the door to the front. This was the master bedroom. The colour was a deep brown with beige trim and carpet. A king size double canopy bed sat at the left of the room, the foot of the bed facing inward. Bedsheets of gold colouring hung from the bed, as well as the canopy blinds being the same colour. A vanity station sat in front of the bed, with a few things such as perfume already sitting atop it.
Layla smirked at her father's attempt to get into a girl's mind, though it was appreciated, and added a charming atmosphere to the room. She walked over to the far right corner of the room, and opened a door on the right wall. Upon peering in she saw a bathroom like the other one, with the exception that it was painted a light blue and had a Jacuzzi tub rather than a regular bathtub.
Layla shook her head "You absolutely spoiled us"
"Oh, but you haven't seen the best part yet" Her father said slyly with a smirk. His smirk only grew as he saw Layla's confounded expression and Leon's curious one. He walked out of the door and turned to the room on the right side of the hallway.
Slowly, he opened the door, enjoying every moment of suspense and the eager expression on Layla's face.
"This... Is you're nursery"
He pushed the door fully aside and stepped aside to let both of them in.
The room itself was like entering a dream. The walls were bright sky blue with pink clouds that looked so real and yet like cotton candy. The lights hanging from the ceiling were also pink clouds. There was a window on the far wall with a large sill, large enough to sit on, the frame painted white. A bright blue crib was at the left of the room, with white ruffles of lace for decoration, and a white hood at the head. On the right there was a white and blue blotched book case, already filled with several children's books, ranging from ages three to six. Even a pink rocking chair sat in the frontmost right corner of the room.
"You... Really planned ahead Father" Layla said in astonishment, a tear coming to her eye.
Mr. Hamilton smiled softly "You like it Precious?"
"I love it" Layla whispered, walking over to give her father an emotional hug.
Leon smiled softly and nodded at his soon to be father in law. Richard Hamilton was not the most emotional of men himself, and so he recognized and respected Leon's reserved show of gratitude. He let his daughter go and watched as she slowly embraced her fiancée.
"Tomorrow" Leon whispered "We will have an Easter slash House Warming party here, and invite everyone to look at this"
Layla scoffed a little in good humour.
"Sora and May are going to go nuts" She thought for a moment, then added "Or maybe I should be more worried about Mia and Marion..."
Leon chuckled at that.
