You all must be really confused. I just realized that I did not upload the right chapter that follows Confessions! I feel so embarrassed right now… Well here it really is!
"WHAT?!" Yelled Taruto and Pai in a mixture of shock and horror.
Shaking his head furiously, Taruto said,
"But that's not possible, only humans can become Mew Mews!"
Kisshu spread his hands in a vague gesture to his whole body, a helpless expression on his face.
Taruto looked awkward as he said, "Oh…yeah. Good point."
Pai stood and looked his green-haired brother over critically.
"Why didn't you tell us about this?"
Kisshu shrugged,
"I was too embarrassed. That and I thought I could hide it without a problem."
"Hmm," grunted Pai.
"S-so do you think you can get another antidote made soon so Kisshu can get back to normal?" Asked Taruto cautiously.
Pai massaged his temples the way he did when he was particularly nervous or stressed. Then he answered worriedly,
I might, but it will take a while. I suspect that you remained human because the cat DNA inside you somehow counteracted the Cyniclon DNA in the pill. I'm going to need a sample of your blood, time to analyze it, research possible antidotes, gather supplies and prepare them. Add to that the time necessary for testing the drug and refining it. It could take six months at the very least before the final pill is complete, and that is assuming that I get the recipe right the first time!"
Kisshu went pale, "What? But I can't stay this way!"
"Shirogane might be able to help you, go to him if you want. I'll do my best to be quick, but it could be disastrous if I get the recipe wrong."
"No," Kisshu said. "I don't want any of the Mews to know. It would be too hard to explain."
Suddenly, a beep sounded from his phone. Opening it, he read a text from Ichigo
[ Hi Eirian, I'll be a little late 'cause I'm making a snack for us to share. I'll be over as soon as possible. See you in a bit! :) ]
Groaning, Kisshu put his head in his hands.
"Oh no, I forgot Ichigo was coming over! What should I do to hide my ears and tail if they pop out?"
Taruto shrugged, "Wear a hat?"
"Come," Pai commanded. "I should begin work right away. Taruto, go and prepare the ship for the return journey."
As the smaller alien left, Pai took a small sample of Kisshu's blood and then turned to go. Then he paused and looked at the floor.
"I'm sorry."
Kisshu blinked, unsure if he had heard Pai right. "What?"
"I said I'm sorry. It was my idea to send you back to Earth in disguise. This would never have happened if I had decided against it. I feel partly responsible."
"You don't have to be sorry," said Kisshu briskly. "But if you want to make amends, then get to work on that cure! I'll be fine here."
With a slight smile and a nod, Pai left.
Slumping back on his bed, Kisshu took several deep, calming breaths. After several moments of this, he felt the top of his head and behind him and was pleased to find that his tail and ears had vanished.
Suddenly there was a knock on the front door. Snatching a hoodie from his closet and pulling it on over his head, Kisshu answered the knock. It was Ichigo.
Hello Eirian! Sorry I'm late, may I come it?" The cheerful read-head asked.
Kisshu nodded, "Sure, we can work at the kitchen table."
"I'm good with that. I brought some chocolate covered strawberries to snack on while we work. Here, try one!"
Eager to please, Kisshu did so, "These taste amazing! Did you really make them yourself?"
Ichigo beamed with pleasure. "Thanks, I did make them. Akasaka-san, the baker at Café Mew Mew, taught me how to make them about two years ago."
The rest of the evening was spent in pleasant conversation and light studying. Once Kisshu heard where Ichigo needed help, his methods and explanations of the problems helped her greatly.
At eight thirty, they said good-bye to each other and Ichigo left for home. As he lay in bed later that night, Kisshu laughed slightly at a realization,
"Tonight was the closest thing to a date that I ever had with Ichigo without her trying to kill me! I hope that this means there will be more.
I hope this was okay despite the confusion!
