Mimi took out a loaf of bread from the bread cabinet as she fixed herself some toast. It was around seven o'clock in the morning, and for once Mimi didn't have to force herself to wake up. She just couldn't sleep, as she kept thinking about Count Bleck and Nastasia. She couldn't help it, but she knew something big was happening or was going to happen.
Bigger than just bringing the Chaos Heart.
Letting out a small yawn, Mimi finished cooking two pieces of toast and walked to the dining room. She sat in her normal place, all alone. It surprised her that O'Chunks wasn't up and eating, as he is usually halfway done with his meal by the time Mimi was up. It was also weird that she hadn't seen Dimentio up yet, since he trains almost twenty-four seven.
Mimi sighed heavily.
She hated being in this castle all by herself, as it was too quiet and dark. It was stupid, but she sometimes felt a bit fearful being alone in the castle. There was a very dark atmosphere to this castle, like a feeling of eternal suffering.
Maybe this castle has a dark history to it. After all, it does look like Count Bleck and Nastasia has been here for a long time.
Not wanting to be in this creepy dining room any longer, Mimi got up and put her plate away. When she was done, she walked out of the kitchen. Only to hear a loud thud, like some threw the front door open. Startled, she ran towards the sound. She ran up to the front door to see Count Bleck and Nastasia coming in. In the count's hands was a giant heart, looking like it was made of a black liquid. Mimi gasped.
That must be the Chaos Heart!
Nastasia looked up at her.
"Mimi, are O'Chunks and Dimentio up?" she asked.
"Uh...I don't know. I haven't been up for that long," Mimi answered.
"Well, go find them and tell them to meet us in the training room," Nastasia quickly explained as Count Bleck teleported away. "We need to have a group meeting as soon as possible. Don't ask questions now, for everything will be explained shortly, k."
Without waiting for a reply, she teleported away.
Still a little confused, Mimi ran up the stairs. She headed for O'Chunks's room first, thinking he would more likely be there. She knocked on the door.
"O'Chunks, are you there?" Mimi called out.
There was a loud groan.
"Err...Mimi is that you?" O'Chunks asked.
"Yes, are you sleeping?"
"Was. Is there something wrong, lassie?"
"I don't know," Mimi answered, trying her best to explain. "Count Bleck and Nastasia just came home. I think they brought the Chaos Heart with them. Nastasia told me to get you and Dimentio for a meeting."
"Nastasia is back?"
There was a long pause.
"...Give me a few minutes to get up. Where is this meeting?"
"In the training room."
"Great, I'll be there soon...and by soon I mean after five more minutes of sleep..."
Rolling her eyes, Mimi then made her way to Dimentio's room. She doubted that he would be there, but it wouldn't hurt to check. When she reached his room, Mimi gave a small knock.
"Are you there, Dimentio?"
A few seconds passed, no answer came. She knocked again, but there was no reply.
He must be somewhere else.
Mimi gave one final, loud knock, only to accidentally push the door open. She blinked.
That's weird. Dimentio always has his door locked.
Cautiously, she looked inside. The room was completely black, only a tiny bit of light coming in underneath the window curtain. She could barely see the faint outline of Dimentio, who was laying on his bed sound asleep. Mimi smiled slightly.
He must be tired from last night. Though, now that I think about it, why was he up anyway?
He never did say and it did make her kind of curious. But Mimi let that thought slide by.
It probably wasn't important anyway.
Quietly, Mimi approached Dimentio's bedside. He was laying on his side, his back facing her. He was still wearing the clothes he wore last night, as if he didn't even bother to change. On his nightstand, Mimi could faintly see that his mask and hat was placed there.
So he does take that mask off! Maybe I'll finally get to see his face!
"Rise and shine sleepy head," she whispered softly in his ear.
Dimentio only mumbled a little but didn't fully awake. Mimi smiled.
"Dimentio, it's time to wake up."
Two minutes later, Dimentio's whole body tensed up. There was a few seconds of silence.
"...Is there something you need, Mimi?" Dimentio asked not even turning around to face her.
"Count Bleck and Nastasia just came home," Mimi explained. "There's going to be a meeting in the training room."
"What is it about?"
"Nastasia didn't say, but I think it is about the Chaos Heart. I think I saw Count Bleck carrying it."
"...I see."
He then reached his hand out and grabbed his mask. He placed it over his face as he stood up. Putting on his hat, Dimentio looked up at Mimi and said, "Shall we go?"
"Wait, you're not even going to change?" Mimi asked a bit shocked.
"It can wait, a meeting about the Chaos Heart is far more important."
Mimi gave him a shocked stare. Dimentio chuckled.
"Come on, bellezza. We can't make the count wait all day, can we?"
"Where is O'Chunks?" Nastasia demanded, tapping her foot impatiently. "Mimi, didn't you tell him to come?"
"I did," Mimi replied, sitting on a small platform and looking completely bored. "He said he would be here soon."
"Well, it's been fifteen minutes now."
"Maybe he got lost?" Dimentio suggested. "He's always late for training, claiming he can't find his way around the castle."
"Either way, we have to be patient," Count Bleck said. "Count Bleck needs everyone here so that he won't have to explain things twice."
Mimi let out a long sigh, playing with her hair a bit. Suddenly, a large smirk came across her face.
"Hey, Dimentio."
Dimentio glanced at her as Mimi transformed into O'Chunks. She cleared her throat.
"Hello lad, my name is O'Chunks," Mimi said in a perfect imitation of O'Chunks's voice. "Even though I've lived here for a month, I still get lost like a complete dummy. I eat like a pig, as I devour all the food before anyone else can have any! Specifically, before Mimi can."
Dimentio chuckled slightly. Count Bleck gave a small smile while Nastasia rolled her eyes, trying to keep a straight face.
"That's perfect imitation," Dimentio commented. "If I didn't see you transform, I might have mistaken you for him."
Mimi giggled.
Just then, O'Chunks ran in.
"Oh God, sorry I'm late!" he cried running to the nearest platform to face the count. "I accidentally over slept and..."
He stopped talking as he noticed Mimi still looked like him.
"What in blazin' bog rats? How did I beat myself here? What's going on?"
Mimi and Dimentio laughed as she transformed back. O'Chunks's eyes widened.
"Mimi? That was not funny! How do I know you weren't making fun of me?"
Mimi laughed even harder, fueling O'Chunks's anger.
"While Count Bleck finds this moment completely amusing," Count Bleck interrupted trying to keep himself form laughing, "we need to get to business."
With a wave of his staff, the black heart that Mimi saw before came into view. Dimentio's eyes widened, amazed at it's dark beauty. O'Chunks stared at it.
"…That's the Chaos Heart?"
Count Bleck nodded.
"It is. Count Bleck and Nastasia just retrieved it. But even though we have it, we still haven't found the Hero of Legend."
"But I thought you said he would reveal himself when you summoned the Chaos Heart?" Dimentio questioned.
"He has been revealed, though not in the way I planned," Count Bleck explained. "Once the Chaos Heart was formed, I could feel a small, glimmer of hope through light magic. The hero has been revealed, but to who, Count Bleck isn't sure of."
"So we are fighting him blind?"
"It would seem so."
"…But you have a plan to fight him right, count" Mimi asked.
"And indeed, Count Bleck does."
He cleared his throat.
"Count Bleck probably should have told you this earlier, but he didn't think you three should know about it yet. Like the Dark Prognosticus, there is another prophetic book called the Light Prognosticus. But, unlike the dark book of prophecies, the Light Prognosticus is only meant to counter the dark one. Though the Dark Prognosticus has a one hundred percent accuracy of seceding in it's words, there is a very slight chance that it won't happen. I believe that whoever owns the Light Prognosticus, who I am not sure of, knows who the Hero of Legend is and will aid him to stop us. So with that, we cannot afford to make any mistakes, even with luck on our side."
"So what do you want us to do?" Dimentio asked thoughtfully.
"For now, we wait until the hero makes the first move," Count Bleck concluded. "Nastasia and I will be checking dimension to dimension for abnormal activities involving dimensional transportation. When we locate him, we will send one of you to investigate."
"Sounds like a good strategy, count," O'Chunks said. "Though, I would like to request that I may be the first one to fight the hero for you. It's the least I can do to make up for today and the other days I've been late for meetings and training."
"If that's what you wish. Count Bleck greatly appreciates your support, O'Chunks."
O'Chunks smiled in reply.
"K' now that you all know what the plan is, my advice to you is to train your hardest," Nastasia said. "Though, I will like to make note that any future training from here on out, you will have to do it on your own. Count Bleck and I can't afford a moment off with the hero on the loose. So, yeah, do what you can and help each other out. Any comments or concerns?"
No one made a sound. For Mimi, Dimentio, and O'Chunks knew what to do. Nastasia nodded.
"K. Meeting dismissed!"
