Chapter 10: Valentine's Day!

Although it's a special day for most of the students in Gintama High, for Sougo, it is the opposite. He even put this day as the most terrible and should not be exist in the world.

Sougo clicked his tongue as he passes through each classroom, which were empty as he expected, "This is awfully tiresome."

While making a trip to each rooms as he is assigned to take a tour around the building, he also tried to come up some hiding place, just to get out of that day. Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and he would not be expecting his shoe locker be empty.

But after spending tons of times with Kagura, being able to raise their relationship a little to being close to each other than hating their guts, Sougo level up.

'Tomorrow is Valentine's. Would it be normal to give her some chocolates?' And his mind were off to thinking if he should give Kagura some chocolates, a friendship ones, and didn't spotted a rotten student vandalizing the hallway.

"You.. Didn't I say check all the rooms in case some rotten kids stayed?!"

Sougo turned his head over to see Hijikata blowing a fuse for not noticing a single student in the campus.

"Give me some slacks, Hijikata-san. I didn't notice him because I was imagining my life with Kagura." Towards Hijikata & Gintoki, Sougo only shows how affectionate he is towards the girl he loves, and addressing her informality in front of them.

"Do not give me that lazy attitude of yours!" Hijikata shove one of his lollipop in his mouth and sighed deeply.

Sougo watched in awe as Hijikata slammed the lollipop in the floor while throwing tantrums of not working at all.

Gintoki gave him some advice how to quit smoking and knowing that their teacher used to smoke, Hijikata trusted the man and ended up shoving lollipop in his mouth.

"It's not working, huh?" Sougo picked up the lollipop and said in between of his smirks, "But you don't have to throw it in the floor, you know. Kondo-san will kick you in the balls and shove you out of your position."

"That's your plan, Sougo." Hijikata let out a long yawn and mimicked Sougo to get lost of his sight.

"Such a boss," Sougo muttered and exited the room, upon sliding the door open, he saw one unfamiliar student walking in front of their office. He's like a new student in their campus yet Sougo felt an awful feeling about him.

The following day, it was Valentine's Day, and Sougo planned to arrive school late than usual but Kagura is making him go to school such an early time. Who wouldn't say no when Kagura sent countless of messages, countless of rocks in his window, and countless of knocking in their front door.

"I don't recall of you being this excited about this day." Sougo commented out of the blue while Kagura and him, side by side, walking towards to their school.

Kagura just hummed in a most positively way and said in between of munching, "Well, consider this as the ticket for free chocolates."

"Why are you so confident about receiving chocolates?" Sougo arched his brow and didn't say his last retort out loud, 'Well, you are going to receive one for me, for sure.'

"You idiot!" She slapped Sougo's head while screaming, "Chocolates is important!"

"Then why did you slapped my head, you idiot!"

"Well, I didn't know it was your head."

"Cut the crap, China," Sougo rubbed his head and sighed in irritation, "I'm not going to class since bitches would just hurled in front of him, shoving their chocolates."

"Then give me the chocolates!" Kagura ran forward and step in front of Sougo, just enough to make him stop. "You're a type of guy who wouldn't like it so give it to me instead."

"What if those chocolates had those kind of alcohol?" Sougo slide his fingers in his hair and continue with a low tone, "I don't want it."

Kagura was left speechless by Sougo, who move forward without turning his back to her, and couldn't respond to what Sougo said, not really catching the point of his last words.

Although the school yard aren't that noisy and not much of a students were there, Sougo still couldn't reach the shoe locker without rejecting tons of chocolates shoving in his way.

Kagura reached the school and saw the scene, without words that left her mouth, she proceed.

"Alright, you brats, today is Valentine's Day!" Gintoki said in a stern voice, looking each bits of his students before continuing, "And none of you gave me some chocolates!"

Students started to give him some stares before explaining altogether why they didn't give out some chocolates for him.

"Well, at least, Kagura-chan gave me some, although a tiny bit," Gintoki stares his palm with one bar of chocolate in his palm. "Kagura-chan, what is this?"

"A chocolate bar." Kagura simply responded while munching on the other bars, "I got it from Anego."

"And then you gave me this?" Gintoki gulped his nervousness and quietly asked Otae, who is in the front row, "H-Handmade?"

"No, Gintoki-sensei, it's not handmade." Otae smile a bit evilly towards Gintoki and he shoved it in his pocket, "Then, I'll eat it later. Anyway, that's why you guys are in here, we have nothing but homeroom and the rest are self-studies. Mid-term are coming up, you bastards, you better pass it or you won't move forward!"

"Is that how you motivate us?!" Each of the students screamed in unison.

Hijikata sighed and laid his back against his chair, taking out a piece of lollipop, staring at it before peeling the cover. "How hard it is to eat this crap."

"As hard as your head," Hijikata looked up and almost choked his saliva out when he saw Sougo being carelessly in the room without any gear on.

"Oi, did you forget that today is Valentine's?"

"I didn't," Sougo respond while settling in front of Hijikata, "I hid but got caught by that jerk."

"Jerk?" When he followed Sougo's stare to where Katsura is sitting, he got the idea right instant. "He was planning to hide as well, huh?"

"Who's he hiding from anyway?" Sougo muttered and his gaze went to Kagura without hesitation. "I bet she got tons of chocolates."

Hijikata hummed in questionable way and perked his head up just to looked at Kagura, "No, not a single one."

Sougo turned around to Hijikata with a bit of surprised look.

"Trust me. Whenever Kagura received one, sensei would ambush them. Screaming that they shouldn't give chocolates to his daughter," Hijikata explained while licking the lollipop around, "I bet tons of guys would fall out. You're one of a heck lucky now."

"Do not…" Sougo looked away once he felt his cheeks getting red, clearing his throat as he continue, "Did you receive some?"

"I did. From the same old fanclub of mine," once Hijikata place his lollipop on a secure place, he reached out from his pocket, and hand Sougo a fancy box of chocolates, "A girl from 2-B gave this to me, and surprisingly, it's for you."

"Class 2-B?" Sougo asked, reaching out to examine the box. "This chocolates."

"Yeah, it's the fancy ones." Once again, Hijikata threw the lollipop on the floor when he felt a dirt has landed on the candy. "Try eating it since it's fancy and expensive."

Without looking to his back, Sougo didn't see the sad expression that Kagura had plastered.

Sougo shove both of his hands in his pocket while roaming the hallways of the second floor, checking carefully each classrooms before sprinting to where the first year's building were. Upon noticing someone was there, he slid the door open and revealed the same guy from yesterday.

"Hey, school's over." Sougo said, moving to take a good look to the guy's face, "You better head home before the demon vice-president see you here."

He turned around and saw how Sougo's crimson eyes took over his, he bend his head, and apologizing, "Ah, well, can I stay here for a bit? I'm waiting for someone."

"If you are planning to jump on her," Sougo said, leaning against the frame of the door, "Dude, do it in your house."

"J-jump on her?! No, no! I'm not! I'm just…" He stopped talking when the other end of the classroom's door slid open, and the girl, which Sougo assumed is Kagura, stepped in. "Ah, you found it, Kagura-san."

So it really is Kagura. Sougo stayed put in his place and it seems that Kagura hasn't took notice of him yet.

He waited until the guy spoke once again, "I am Nakamura Daiki, class 1-C, and in the basketball club!" And he started to introduce all different things to him. "I am here to allow Kagura-san to date me officially."

'Is he an idiot?!' Sougo screamed in his mind, bending down so that Kagura wouldn't notice him at all. So this is a confession and that guy didn't even felt a single sting of nervous when Sougo is in the same room as them. And nice timing, it's Valentine's Day.

Kagura started to pick his nose while rubbing his nape, "Huh? Officially date you? Are you kidding me, uh-huh?!"

Sougo almost crack up since that guy doesn't really know about Kagura at all.

"I fully accepted your personalities and it is one of the fact that I felt this strong feelings towards you, Kagura-san."

And this guy is nuts.

"What gives you the permission to say that, you bastard, uh-huh!" Kagura said, flicking a booger that she had digged. "Gin-chan left a single loser, huh?"

"Please, Kagura-san, I really like you!"

"Well, I like myself too, uh-huh."

Sougo sighed in disbelief as he mumbled to himself, "I feel bad for this kid."

Nakamura Daiki hasn't really given up as he kept on telling Kagura that he likes her and wanted to date her, officially. But after a minutes of arguing, "I'll make Kagura-san to fall in love with me!"

"Try it, you jerk!" Kagura positioned herself in a fighting pose while pursing her lips.

"I will not give up!" Daiki announced and he ran off to where Kagura entered, when the guy was completely gone in their sight, Sougo sprung up and surprised Kagura that made her to stumbled back in her feet.

"Uwah, you were there?!"

"Well, I was taking a stroll and happened to find him here." Sougo reasoned, "What was that?"

"A confession." Kagura said, sitting down in the nearest chair while pursing her lips in a slight pout, "I never thought that there would be a guy would like me."

"Maybe he was attracted to your cute buns." Sougo muttered then move forward while he started to lectured Kagura, "Why are you still here? Maybe you got curious to what kind of person he is?"

"No, he didn't stopped sending me letters." Kagura inquired while looking at Sougo's expression, "I had to come and let the man down."

"You talk way too big," Sougo retort, "Well then, it's done. The day is finally day."

Kagura nodded her head while looking at the table, a bit out of focus but Kagura kept her gaze at somewhere other than to Sougo.

She felt a little nervous when Sougo walked forward and while fighting of the thought of kicking Sougo for eavesdropping to her confession, she felt a little upset since Sougo didn't even stop the guy.

"Hey, about today…" Sougo finally broke the silence and that even made Kagura a bit nervous.

"Ah! Would you look at the time! I better get going or Gin-chan would be mad again! Bye Sadist!" Kagura started to stutter from the start and run away from the classroom without even hearing Sougo.

"Geez, that girl…" Sougo sighed and recalled what just happened. If he stood up and stopped the guy, would that change something between them or it'll make everything worse?

Consider how Sougo had been through, trying to change Kagura's view of him. He came along and was contented when he found out that Kagura doesn't seem to be attracted to Hijikata anymore.

It might be because Hijikata was the first person she ever talked to when she transferred in Gintama. But then again, why did she fell in love with Hijikata in the first place?

And now that started to bug Sougo too much.

Without much of a plan in mind, Sougo spent his free time eating the chocolates that Hijikata, Kondo, and some of his trustworthy underlings gave, but to his dismay, he didn't receive a single bar of chocolates from Kagura.

"Sou-chan, there's someone in the door!"

Sougo's older sister called out to him when he was about to head over to Kagura's house from his window. He jump off his bed and started walking down the stairs. At first, he thought it was Kondo, asking if Sougo could deliver the chocolates that he didn't get to deliver to his Otae. But he was wrong.

"Yo, Sadist." It was Kagura, wearing her casual attire, and her hair was tied up in a single ponytail. It was a rare sight, indeed.

"Ah, Kagura-chan! Come in!" Mitsuba was behind Sougo so she also noticed how Sougo tensed up upon seeing Kagura in a casual attire. "I heard Gin-san screaming. Did something happen?"

"His old time pal came for a visit, uh-huh." Kagura said, taking off her sandals as she welcomed herself in. "They said kids aren't allowed to listen what they were about to talk."

"That seems important." Mitsuba said as she moved forward towards the kitchen. "Have fun you two."

Sougo kept on staring at her until Kagura noticed it. She was stunned at how Sougo plastered such a poker face. She dress up for him and yet he found it unpleasing?

"What? Is there something wrong?" Kagura finally snapped when Sougo continue on staring at her.

Sougo kept his cool on as he slowly climbed up the stairs, "Nothing. It's just unusual for you to wear a skirt without any pants underneath."

"Shinpachi did the laundry." Kagura inquired, following Sougo and arrived in Sougo's room.

"Sis would be cooking some dinner for us. Wanna stay over and eat?" Kagura hummed in respond when she noticed how quiet Sougo is. It's very rare for Sougo to be in this mood without talking back at her like they used to.

It's been months since their relationship changed. Kagura got used on the Okita's household. Mitsuba was nice and sweet to her. Sougo as well but a mix of his sadistic attitude.

But upon realizing it, Kagura had grew a deep attraction to Sougo. She hated when girls crowded him, asking bunch of stuff that they shouldn't asked, and when Sougo was avoiding him whenever Hijikata is around.

"You do know that I don't like Mayora," Kagura said it without even thinking, making her to flushed in deep red. Sougo stared at her with a calm and complete poker face and didn't say anything.

She noticed how messy Sougo's bed was, full of chocolates and more. "Planning to finish them?" Kagura said, sitting on the bed while grabbing each of the bars while thinking if there are some from his fans.

Sougo sat on the other side and shook his head, "No, I was just hungry."

"What's wrong with you?" Kagura shifted her question somewhere else.

Sougo looked a bit taken aback and shifted his gaze to where the chocolates is. "I thought we were friends. Why didn't you gave me some- huh?" Before he could even finish off what he was about to say, Kagura shoved a plastic bag on his lap. He looked a bit stunned, surprised, and worried if it was a bomb.

"It's a not a bomb, uh-huh." Kagura overread what he was thinking.

When he open the plastic bag, he was surprised to see a box with a ribbon on it. A pretty much the gift that guys would give to their girls. But it was reverse this time.

"It's a chocolates. I had Shinpachi helped me to pick it up." Sougo was pissed when Kagura said his name. "Since I don't know what to give someone."

"Just a candy would be fine." Sougo couldn't hide his smile as he open the box, tons of delicious looking chocolates are laid perfectly inside.

Kagura was quiet and he knew it started to get a bit awkward inside of his room. When he was begging for his sister to destroy this tense situation, the shout wasn't coming at all.

All the things had been displayed in his mind and not a single thing can't be said out loud.

"So, for the White Day…" Kagura finally broke the silence and when she did, Sougo knew where this thing going. "You have to give me three times than this, right? Right?!"

She was pretty excited to Sougo nodded his head and hoped he would remember this and probably would give Kagura much more than that.

Nakamura Daiki is pretty much an made up character. It's out of a place chapter but I'd like to update it with an idea that popped inside of my mind. So enjoy.
