Chapter Nine

'So, Michael. Mind telling me why you set me up? Was is so you could comfort Lisa if I got killed and play the understanding kind captain?'

'I don't know what your talking about.'

'Sure you don't but let me refresh your memory for you,' Tony placed a couple of pictures on the table of the undercover OP en looked at Sanders' face for any indication of recognition. 'The OP to bring Vasily Arkadi down. I was sent undercover and we busted him.'

'Yeah, so what?'

'The decision was made to not break my cover for safety reasons remember? You sent a team as backup for the bust. You sent f*cking probies..rookies, rookies who should have known to NEVER break someone's cover, yet they did. As result my daughter and wife, who you seem to love in a romantically way may I ad, end up dead. I can't help but wonder how en why that happened.'

'You think I bust the OP?', Sanders asks with widen eyes.

'Have I reason not to? You wanted my family, my wife and even my daughter.'

'I won't deny that I loved Lisa and yes I came to love Kiara to, but I would never ever cause their death!.' Sanders was angry. He loved Lisa damn it! And he was sure that he could make Lisa DiNozzo, he worked hard to make the guys in the precinct hate DiNozzo and sooner or later it would have worked on her to!

'No, I don't think you wanted her to die, you loved her. But you wanted me gone and via the OP was the best chance, so you sent green rookies and withheld the information about me staying in cover, hoping Arkadi and his buddy's would finish me off.'

'Your accusing me of being dirty. Do you have proof?' Sanders knew that there was no way Tony had proof so he could afford a giant smile.

'I spoke with those rookies,' Tony's smile was just as big but way meaner. Sanders had no way of knowing that Tony never spoke to those cops. 'They are willing to testify, but if you confess the charges won't be as high.'

Gibbs watched as Sanders seemed to maul this over. Could it be that his agents had betrayed him? Should he call it bluff and await charges or come clean about everything...

'Fine, I'll tell you.'

He wanted to start speaking when Gibbs stopped him.

'Hold on,' He shove a paper in front of Sanders and gave him a pen. 'Sign that.'

'An attorney waver?', he asked.

'Wouldn't want you coming to the N.C.I.S building causing trouble now would we?', Gibbs asked. Sanders just shrugged and signed.

'Now talk', Gibbs said angrily, this man pisses him off and he didn't like it one bit.

'We requited Tony for this Op because he speaks Russian and had the experience needed for this job. Lisa came with him to the station a few times and we talked. I started falling for her and wanted a nice little family for myself. To be more precise, I wanted what Tony had. During the operation Lisa and Kiara couldn't be in contact with Tony so they stayed in contact with me, we became friends and I fell even more for her and became fond of Kiara to. When the end of the OP was nearing I was afraid I would lose the friendship I had build with Lisa so I indeed send those rookies without the details. I never wanted them to die because of it, I just wanted Tony gone...'

Gibbs could see that Tony had lost nearly all self control and placed his hand on Tony's arm.

'Who else knew about your plan?'

'Roy did.' Tony couldn't believe it! He had been betrayed by another partner. Danny..Roy...even McGee turned his back on him,who was next? Gibbs? Ziva? Balboa?

'Wait here until someone comes to get you...', Tony said quietly before leaving interrogation.

'Roy is gone Tony', Ziva said as he and Gibbs came back.

'What do you mean?'

'We went looking for him but according the agents here he left after we left for interrogation.'

'Damn it!' Tony cursed. 'I want a full background check on him when we come home and I want his file form here!' He glared at an agent who immediately jumped to action to make it happen. Time to go home, I don't really care what IA will do to Sanders.' And he walked out, unknown to him, the danger waiting for them.

Gibbs walked beside him, supporting him quietly. Tony was grateful for the support his boss was showing him. Then a shot went off and Gibbs went down. Tony could only just keep Gibbs from falling all the way down and cracking his skull open on the concrete.

'GIBBS!', he shouted worried. Tony dragged the older man behind cover and saw that his team mates had drawn their weapon so he concentrated on his friend. He saw blood on his boss' chest and knew it was bad. He took off the coat of his suit end put pressure on the wound.

'Call 9-1-1! NOW!', he shouted scared.

Balboa and Ziva noticed no enemy and run to the two men.

'Already on the line Tony', Ziva said.

'How bad?'

'Bullet is still inside his chest, he needs a hospital now Rick.'

Balboa gave a curt nod saying nothing. He could see the fear in Tony's eyes and decided to check where the ambulance stayed.

'David! Where is that damned ambulance!', he yelled.

'Should be here any...here they are!', came her reply.

The medics arrived and started to help Gibbs the best they could.

'Ziva, call Ducky and make him tell Abby, I'm riding with Gibbs.'

'Where are they taking him?'

'Saint Matthews is closest from here Ma'am', one of the paramedics said before rushing off with Tony close by.

The ride to th hospital only took fifteen minutes but is nearly seemed like fifteen hour! Tony was scared to death that the only family he had left would die. Thanks to Gibbs he survived all those years, he didn't know if he would if Gibbs died to.

'Boss, I know I don't have the right to order you around normally, but since your down and since that puts me in charge of the team including you if you decide to do something stupid, I make it my right now. Don't you dare to die on me boss, I order you to live...please...', Tony whispers ignoring the tears falling down his cheeks, a few hitting Gibbs' hand.

Gibbs opened his eyes is a bright white place. He was comfortable and warm. He did notice it was a little foggy and that it became rapidly more.

He wondered where he was and what had happened, hadn't he just been in Baltimore questioning Tony's old captain?

He could see two people approaching him through the thick fog. Automatically his hand went to his hip to grab his gun but found nothing.

'You won't be needing your gun here...', a female voice spoke.

So this is the new chapter for Russian problems. Right now it may seem that it has nothing to do with our Russian "friends" but I promise you that it will have to do, they will be getting their first real lead real soon now!
