Chapter 10
As he took his last painful breath Goku passed away, all the feeling of pain left him as he welcomed the embrace of nothing. It felt like sleeping, the infinite black void and the feeling of absolute comfort. This feeling was short lived as a bright light appeared and swallowed Goku whole. Suddenly he felt wide awake again and actually stronger than he ever did before. When the light faded away Goku found himself on some sort of platform that was floating above yellow clouds. The sky was pink and there was a road path that went on for a ways before stopping at a large building. Goku looked around this new area with awe. He had never seen a place like this before and wondered just where he was.
"How did I get here?" Goku asked no one in particular. Goku then started to walk down the path and saw that there were millions of small little white clouds flouting down the path. "What are those things?"
"Those are the souls of the dead Goku." A voice said. Goku jumped a bit in surprise but turned around and saw none other than Kami the guardian of earth there along with his best friend Krillin beside him.
"Kami? And Krillin? Does this mean im dead?" Goku asked.
"Yes Goku it does, you and Krillin fought bravely today against Raditz, but you were both killed as a result." Kami said.
"Well I don't even remember dyeing, I just remember getting a blasted to the ground then I fell unconscious." Krillin said.
"Yes when you were hit you did not die right away, we took too long to get to you Krillin, and now I am sorry to say, that you are now permanently deceased." Kami said Krillin then lowered his head.
"I know im sad though, that I won't be able to at least say goodbye to everyone." Krillin said.
"Well Krillin, I can still be wished back, I can pass the message on for you." Goku said cheerfully. Krillin just smiled and nodded at his best friend.
"On to business then, Goku, you know that two more saiyan's more powerful than the one you fought are coming to earth correct?" Kami asked Goku.
"Yeah, I am going to need to train really hard if im going to be able to beat them." Goku said.
"Wait there is two more coming to earth?" Krillin said surprised.
"Yes Krillin, and though you cannot come back to earth, you could help Goku on this end." Kami said. Both Krillin and Goku seemed to be very confused by this.
"What do you mean Kami?" Krillin asked.
"I would like the two of you to go and train with the one known as King Kai, there Goku should receive the training he needs in order to defeat the incoming threat and you Krillin can help by training alongside him." Kami explained
"Oh so you want us to go train with some guy here in other world." Goku said.
"He isn't just some guy; he is the Kai of the northern quadrant of the entire universe." Kami explains but Goku still seemed confused.
"Basically his jobs is sort of like mine, as I watch over the earth and protect it, King Kai watches over the entire northern Galaxy and all its inhabitance." Kami explains
"Oh wow, this guy must be pretty strong huh Goku" Krillin says excitedly.
"Yeah."
"But before all of that we must first get permission from the person who judges all the people who die, King Yemma." Kami said. Krillin then suddenly got really scared.
"Oh no, you mean the big scary red guy?" Krillin asked hoping he was wrong.
"The very same."
"Oh man, first I die, then I have to go and see that guy again, great day im having." Krillin said.
"Now then, grab hold of me you two we are going to go strait there." Kami said, then Goku grabbed Kami's shoulder and Krillin grabbed onto his arm, and suddenly the vanished and then reappeared in a huge room. Inside the room, there was a huge desk and a large red person with horns was sitting behind it. In front of the desk was a single white cloud hovering close to the ground. When the three showed up he was flipping through some book.
"Alright mister Ferguson right?, well according to my books, it says that you were a thief that stole many diamonds from many wealthy people and gave them to your poor village so you can get out of poverty, now, stealing doesn't exactly put you on the nice list up here, but you did help out a lot of people who were in need, so I sentence you to one year in the 5th circle of hell, and then the rest of your dead life in heaven." King Yemma declared as he lifted his hammer and slammed it down on his desk. Suddenly a hole appeared underneath the small could and then it dropped down into a pit. Goku and Krillin were both watching the sentence, and it made them a little worried. Kami then walked over to King Yemma.
"Hello King Yemma sir." Kami said standing up right, as if trying to give an impression on the large man.
"Huh, Kami, what do you want, you didn't die yet did you?" Yemma asked.
"No sir, I have not, I have come before you today to request that both Son Goku and Krillin from earth are allowed to receive King Kai's masterful training, for you see, There are two beings heading towards earth as we speak and if Goku does not get training from King Kai, then the everyone on earth will die for sure." Kami explained. King Yemma looked over toward Goku and then Krillin and then simply said
"Sure". Kami was a little surprised that King Yemma allowed this so easily.
"I thank you Lord Yemma". Kami said. King Yemma then lifted a small bell off of his desk and rang in, just as the bell rang a blue ogre ran into the room.
"Yes Lord Yemma?" The ogre said.
"Take these two over to snake way, they are getting King Kai's training." King Yemma said as he pointed toward Goku and Krillin who had both remained silent the entire time.
"Go on you two, make your way across snake way and get King Kai's training." Kami said.
"Okay but first I have a question, King Yemma judges all of the people who die right?" Goku asked.
"Correct." Kami said
"So that would mean that Raditz would have had to come through here right."
"Right." Kami said not sure where he was going with this. Goku then went up beside King Yemma's desk.
"Hey King Yemma, I have a question." Goku said.
"Make it fast I still have to judge another 500 billion souls today."
"Well, did my brother Raditz come through here today; he's tall and has long spiky hair" Goku asked. King Yemma then started flipping through his book trying to find him.
"Oh yes, Raditz, I sent him down to hell." Yemma said.
"Wow, you must be pretty strong." Goku said.
"Hey Goku are you coming or what?" Krillin yelled at Goku as he stood beside the ogre guide they have.
"Oh yeah, coming, Bye Kami, bye King Yemma" Goku yelled as he made his way over to his friend. Goku and Krillin followed there guide down a long path that lead them to the beginning of snake way.
"Alright, here it is, snake way." The guide said. Goku hopped on top of the Snake head that marked the beginning of the long path and looked down the long winding path.
"Oh wow, this looks long." Goku said. Krillin then hopped on too and let out a small gasp.
"We are supposed to cross this, what happens if we fall down." Krillin asked.
"If you fall you will go to hell, and there is no getting out of hell" the guide said. This did nothing to strike confidence in Krillin though.
"Well do you know how long it is?" Goku asked.
"It is exactly 1 million kilometers long" The ogre said. Both Goku and Krillin seemed to be shocked.
"Well I guess we should get started, hey Krillin why don't we have a race to see who can get to King Kai's place first." Goku suggested. Krillin was taken out of his shocked state when offered the challenge.
"Alright you're on Goku." Krillin said.
"Okay then, three" Goku said beginning a countdown.
"Two" Krillin continued
"One" Goku continued again.
"Go" The two warriors yelled out as they took off flying as fast as they could down snake way.
On earth it had been a day since the death of Krillin and Goku, and Gohan had disappeared. Bulma had gone home for some much needed rest and Roshi went home and relieved some stress the only way he knew how. Chichi was worried sick though; Goku and Gohan hadn't returned the night. Her father the Ox king had gone to visit Chichi and Gohan hoping to give his only grandson some new gifts, but to his dismay, Gohan was off with Goku visiting Master Roshi. After waiting the night, Chichi decided to pay a visit to the old Turtle hermit and see just what was going on. Roshi was trying to build up the courage to call Chichi and let her know what had happened but he just couldn't bring up the courage to call her. He considered going over there himself to break the news but couldn't do that either. But the decision was made for him when Chichi showed up on his beach with her father in tow.
"Hello master Roshi, it is good to see you again." Ox king said as he bent over and bowed to his former master.
"Hello there Ox king, how are things with you." Roshi said more so trying to delay the inevitable.
"Things are going great Master, man I still remember when you trained me here when I was a boy, my best memories are still on this beach master." Ox king said making Roshi even more terrified to tell them that Goku had died and Gohan was missing. Chichi had been walking around for a big while the old master and former apprentice talked, but finally she had enough.
"Alright where are they?" Chichi asked in a harsh tone.
"Well you see Chichi…well…umm" Roshi stammered out. Chichi was getting angrier by the second.
"Spit it out already"
"…hmm alright then." Roshi then recounted the events of the day before to Ox king and Chichi not skipping a single beat and when he was finished Chichi didn't say anything.
"No Goku he, he can't be...?" Ox king asked hoping that it was not true.
"Im afraid so old friend, Goku lost his life yesterday, as well as Krillin, though Goku can be wished back with the dragon balls Krillin cant, im afraid he is gone forever." Roshi explained
"And what about Gohan he just up and vanished?" Ox king asked.
"Well when me and Bulma were examining the dead saiyan, he disappeared, but I have a good idea of what he is doing, he is more than likely training for the arrival of the two saiyan's that are coming to earth" Roshi explained. Chichi then suddenly fainted and fell over.
"Chichi, oh no, not again." Ox king yelled out in shock as his daughter fell to the ground.
"Quickly, bring her inside." Roshi said as he went to hold the door open for the large man carrying his daughter. Suddenly Bulma's flying car flew onto the beach. As Ox king took his daughter inside, Roshi went to greet Bulma.
"Hey there Roshi, I see Chichi came over, how is she taking everything?" Bulma asked.
"Well as soon as I told her she fainted so there's, Ox king is sad that his son in law died and that his grandson is missing but he seemed to understand, did you bring the dragon radar?" Roshi asked.
"Yup, so whenever you are ready we should go, the sooner Goku is back the better" Bulma said as she took out the dragon radar.
"Well we can't leave yet, Ox king and Chichi are still here and they would both probably want to come with us on the dragon ball hunt." Roshi explained.
"Well let's go see if they are doing okay first before we bring anything up okay" Bulma said. The two then walked into the house and saw a heart wrenching scene. Chichi was awake and was crying her eyes out. Her father as well wasn't faring any better as he held his daughter close as he wept silently. Seeing the two cry like that made Bulma tier up a little bit too remembering how she felt the day before, seeing Goku and Krillin like that made her stomach turn. Chichi then looked up and noticed Bulma was now with them, and she seemed to calm down a little bit and walked straight to the blue haired woman.
"You have the dragon radar right." Chichi let out as tiers still fell from her eyes.
"Yeah we are going to look for the dragon balls to bring Goku back, don't worry" Bulma said trying to comfort her.
"Well I want to go with you, we are going to find those dragon balls, wish for Goku back, Goku will look for Gohan and then everything will be right again" Chichi said.
"Okay well I brought my capsule plane with me so we can all fit into it." Bulma said. Bulma then checked the dragon radar to see if there was any nearby, but found something strange.
"Huh?" Bulma zoomed out on the radar and saw that 5 of the dragon balls were already gathered together, and that a sixth one was heading toward the other 5.
"Umm, guys we may have a problem." Bulma said getting everyone's attention.
"I think someone else is gathering the dragon balls" Bulma said. Chichi seemed to panic the most out of everyone.
"WHAT, no, no, no, I am not letting some other person get my wish; we have got to go now." Chichi yelled as she ran outside. Ox king slowly followed his daughter.
"Well I guess we should find the last dragon ball before whoever is gathering them finds it." Bulma said.
"But how is the person finding them so fast, the dragon balls were only used last year?" Roshi asked.
"Well maybe they have a way to track them like I do." Bulma said. She had a bad feeling about who was gathering the dragon balls, especially since all of the fighters were off training with Kami or in Gohan's case missing, she just hoped that it wasn't some crazy strong person, but knew that it more than likely w
as.

(A/N): Well here we are 10 chapters later and i have to say that this chapter in my opinion is my weakest chapter to date, nothing really exciting happened in this one, it was more so set up for what is to come, then again i suppose that could be from how we went from such a high point of excitement to this and in comparison it isnt that fun but regardless, i know that Gohan was not present in this chapter but he will be in the next. as always a big thank you from those who reviewed my story and also those who faved me, you guys are the best. until the next chapter guys.
