First Argument - The After

EMMA

Mr. Knightley did not return to his chair for three weeks. It was disconcerting. when he did return it would not be to talk to her but in order to not slight her Father. she had truly done wrong in his eyes. His words stung. That he thought she misapplied her wit and that he should devise her plan of matching Harriet and Mr Elton and so discourage her from it. The plan seemed to be alternating between going well and going strange but emma didn't dwell on that. Christmas was coming and surely by then she could make things right with Mr. Knightley.

Truly I don't know if it will be worth celebrating if we remain enemies. Emma pondered as she oversaw the preparation of her sister's families rooms. Christmas is a time to put away old quarrels and move towards a new year. It is time all this was forgotten.

And so she invited him to dinner the first night Isabella and John were home. He arrive punctually and talked to her Father. Meanwhile Emma sat, her namesake in her arms, and watched him warily. When he approached her he took the small child from her arms into his own. Their conversation was brief but it was enough for Emma to feel they were once more friends, never to be enemies.

That thought would buoy her up as the Christmas season progressed and managed to turn her world on end. The thought that he was her friend helped her sleep in peace after the Westons disastrous Christmas party and the horrid state of affairs with Mr. Elton. When Mr. Elton disappeared to Bath she found she could not miss her plans or mourn their outcome. She found after a few days she was just filled with happiness of having Mr. Knightley to talk to once again. Fighting was a horrid matter but it did make you value your friendship with another.

GEORGE

Christmas meant friends and family. He had grown tired of keeping distance from Emma. The prospect of celebrating Christmas without smiling and laughing with her seemed unbearable and imbecilic. So he swallowed his pride and allowed the matter to be forgotten.

When John commented on Emma's behavior towards Mr. Elton George didn't divulge his suspicions to his younger brother. He was relieved, however, when Elton removed himself to Bath. Although Emma acted rather odd about the whole situation. Things could go back to ordinary now.

And for the most part they did.

Except that Frank Churchill's name seemed to be brought up everywhere.

A/N you can all hate me. I went to go see Newsies on Broadway and suddenly all I could write was Jack Kelly. Meanwhile, this piece languished as did my current HP story. I also moved into my own place and had to fight for insurance so I could buy my own car. It's been a month of growing up. But I am back and more focused.

On another note, Emma Approved, the new vlog series is coming out Oct. 7. I might have to kill someone of they mess this story up.

Alright, I will post this now and another, longer chapter (already written out) tomorrow!

Thanks for reading and being a fan!
