Chapter Ten: Dipper's Inferno
Kingdome of the Wood Elves
Queen Nara stood on the very edge of her homeland and looked outward into the sky, awaiting the arrival of someone who she had longed to see in ages. Though the person she had wished to see had undergone some horrific changes when last she had seen him, she believed that there was some good left within him.
"You should return back to your throne my queen" Valko suggested as he walked up to her "It's not safe here"
"I understand that Valko, but I have to see him" she replied with sadness in her tone "I have to know if my farther is still in there somewhere"
"In that case my lady I will stand by your side" her bodyguard answered "I shall face whatever comes our way is sword in hand!"
"Will you ever stop watching over me?" she inquired with a smirk
"Until my last breathe my queen" he answered her
Just then the sky above became darkened by giant shadow that emerged from the clouds as it descended toward the two Wood Elves. The creature slammed its feet hard unto the ground when it touched down, making the earth around it shake violently for a few seconds as well as kicking up a flurry of dust as it touched down. Once the dust had settled the two magical beings found themselves standing before an enormous beast that glared back down on them in disdain. The eighty-foot long monster had huge lion-like build to it that was covered with dark grey fur with a pitch black mane around its neck with a pair of twisted goat horns on its head. The other features that the giant creature had were long steel like claws and teeth along with huge black feathered wings on its back with large black and green serpent eyes, but the major feature that the monster had was the massive living serpent that acted as the creature's tail.
Despite feeling the dread well up within her chest, the queen refused to leave and instead stood her ground, while her defender drew his blades and prepared for whatever was to happen next.
"Hello farther" she greeted in a strong tone "It's me Nara, do you remember me?"
"I know who you are child" the Chimera replied in a deep and powerful voice "you are my daughter and now ruler of our people"
Nara would've let out a sigh of relief if she had not heard what came next.
"But that time is over now" her now monstrous farther continued "you will hand over your kingdoms magic to me at once!"
Both of the Wood Elves were taken aback by their former king's cruel words, shocked that he would steal away not just their source of power but also the thing that kept them alive.
"B-but farther, we'll die without our magic!" his daughter defended
"That is not my concern!" the beast snapped back "If you do not surrender the magic to me, I will take it by force!"
"You cannot be serious my king!" Valko spoke up "Your people need this magic to survive; you of all people know this!"
"I am no longer your king you fool!" the creature snarled "I have evolved beyond your understanding and have ascended into godhood!"
"You are king Xarusirus and your once ruled our with a kind heart!" the queen's guardsman exclaimed "This dark magic that you made your plaything as corrupted your very soul!"
"It has given me a clear vision of my conquest and the power to do so!" his former lord shot back
"Farther…please don't do this…" his daughter wept
"I am no longer your farther you pathetic child!" he declared darkly "And I will take what is rightfully mine!"
With that, the Chimera inhaled deeply before unleashing a wave of purple fire from his mouth at toward his daughter and her protector, however his flames did not hit the queen instead they collided with a barrier that revealed itself when the fire had struck it.
"What sorcery is this?!" the beast demanded
"It is a barrier spell that deflects any dark magic that attempts to enter our homeland" Nara informed, trying to hold back her tears "You taught me how to use it long ago…"
The giant monster snarled in anger before biting and slashing at the shield in a mad attempt to break down the magical shield, but his efforts proved futile.
"You miserable wench!" the former king hissed in anger "I will rip the flesh from your bones as slowly and painfully as I can before I end your suffering! Then I will burn this entire kingdom to the ground!"
The more she heard the words coming from what was once her father's mouth, the more Nara felt her heart break apart. It hurt her to no end to see what her farther and once great king of her people had become and the fact that she had unleashed back onto this world once more.
"But not yet…" he continued on "First I will find this fire-breather who taints the very lands I wish to conquer and end him!"
With that, he opened wings and launched himself upwards into the sky, ready to seek out destroy the Dragon all the while leaving the queen to weep for what the farther she loved so deeply had become and at what she had done.
"My queen, what shall we do?" Valko questioned softly
"Gather up our strongest warriors…" she answered him, wiping the tears away from her eyes "We must go and warn Stanford"
"Are you sure this is best idea Wendy?" her farther asked as they drove toward Dipper's mountain home
"Not really, but it's only lead we have right now" his daughter explained "besides, where else could Dipper be other then here?"
The farther/daughter team had been searching for the Dragon that was once Dipper Pines and the first place they began looked was none other then the fire-breather's cave in the mountains; however the woodcutter still had a few concerns.
"Ok assuming he's still in there, how are we supposed to get to him?" Manly Dan questioned further "I didn't exactly bring my rock climbing tools with me on this trip"
"Well it's a good thing we won't have to" Wendy began to explain "Once were close enough to the mountain, Dipper will pick my scent and come down from his cave to see me"
"Wait, he can smell you?" the lumberjack said "I don't know if I like that or not"
"Relax dad he may be a giant monster, but Dipper's not an animal" the teenager assured
"I figured that from the necklace he gave you" her dad mentioned
"How did you-"
"It's got a Dragon on it, kind of a dead giveaway if you ask me" he cut her off "Plus it looks way to expensive to be bought in the stores around here"
At that very moment, Wendy received a call on her cellphone, which she saw it was Tambry who was calling her. At first she considered ignoring the call from her friend, but then she changed her mind on the grounds that she could at least apologize to her for not hanging out with her and their circle of friends and give them an explanation as to why or rather a variation of it.
"Hey Tambry, I can't talk for long, I just wanted to say-"
"You lying little bitch!" a familiar male voice snarled on the other end of the line "You break up with me and now your sleeping with a new guy just like that?!"
"So much for not telling Robbie Tambry…" Wendy thought to herself
"You're a real slut you know that?" the punk continued to insult her "What's this new asshole got that I don't?"
"Well to begin with he's a gentleman" the ginger sharply replied "And he's someone who's done nothing but protect me and treat me like a woman!"
"Oh I get it; your dating that little twerp aren't you!" the wicked teen accused "well you two deserve one another, your both freaks!"
It was a that point that Manly Dan had heard enough from this spineless creep, he snatched his daughter's phone out of her hand in order to give him a piece o his mind.
"Now you listen to me you little bastard I-"he began before the teen hung up "Hello? Hello? Dammit!"
"I am so glad I dumped his ass" Wendy said with a heavy sigh
"You took the words right out of my mouth" the woodcutter added "Between him and the Dragon, I'd let you date the one that shoots fire out of his mouth"
"Well least we won't have to deal with him again" his child mentioned before getting an idea suddenly come to her "Hey dad, since you're holding my phone, could you call Mabel?"
"Why do we need her?" the strongman inquired
"Because she's Dipper's sister and I'm pretty sure that she'd like to see her brother again" his daughter elaborated "Tell her that we're headed to the Mystery Shack to pick her up"
"Wait, you want us to just turn back now and pick up more people?" Dan asked, confused and frustrated "And since when did you think you could give me orders?"
"Please dad, do this for Mabel" Wendy pleaded "She might be able to help me get Dipper to come out of his cave and talk to us"
The lumberjack couldn't say no to his eldest child at this point, so with a heavy sigh he preceded to call the Dragon's twin sibling and inform her of his daughter's plan to reunite them once again despite not wanting to drag more people into this chase.
"That stupid bitch!" Robbie snarled as he threw his friend's phone down onto the floor of van "First she leaves me, now she gets her jerk of a dad to fight her battles for her!"
The wannabe goth teen and his circle of friends had driving to a place where he had claimed was a great to drink the keg he had stolen from the mini-mart away from prying adult eyes, however Lee and the rest of the teens were considering pulling over and kicking his sorry butt out in the middle of the forest if he kept on acting like this. Ever since his and Wendy's break-up, the boy had done nothing but be a nuisance to the rest of the group, it was getting to the point where they where trying to get Wendy to get back together with him just to shut him up.
"I can't imagine why…" Tambry growled as she picked her phone up of floor "You know when I thought when I lent you my phone to call Wendy, I didn't think you were gonna go all apeshit on her"
"Oh shut up it's her fault!" the boy shot back "If she hadn't left me things would've still been the same around here!"
"So where's this special place anyway Robbie?" Thompson asked, hoping to change the subject
"It's a cave just up ahead" Robbie mentioned, his train of thought derailed "trust me guys, this place is to die for…"
After receiving a call from Wendy and her dad, Mabel prepared herself to once again head out to find her brother. The trip's back and fourth and whole Dragon ordeal was starting to take its toll on the young girl and the news that her great-uncle had given her earlier this night only made her internal suffering even greater knowing that she would have to share the news with her teenage friend. As the sweater-wearing girl readied herself to depart from the Mystery Shack, Stan came down from his bedroom to get a late-night snack when he saw his grand-niece getting dressed for some unknown reason to him.
"And just where do you think your going?" He questioned her
"Wendy and her dad are coming over to pick me up to go talk to Dipper" she explained "We're going to try to convince him to come back to us"
"And you didn't want to tell me this why?" the con-artist asked sharply
"Oh gee maybe it's because you've been keeping secrets from us!" Mabel scolded
"I told you that I didn't no about the whole 'no cure' thing until Puck told me!" Stan defended
"I was talking about your elf girlfriend!" the young girl corrected angrily "And who knows what else you've been keeping from me and Dipper!"
In that moment Stan knew that if he didn't play is cards right, he would lose the faith and love of both his grand-niece and possibly his monstrous grand-nephew as well, however there were still some secrets that he had to still keep from them. After thinking up his course of action, the elderly man got down on one knee and hugged Mabel tightly, which of course surprised her.
"Your right Mabel, from now on, no more secrets between us" he told her softly "From now on, if there's anything you want to know I'll gladly tell you"
"Thanks Grunkle Stan" she replied happily
"Thank god for lying" he thought to himself before speaking out loud again "now I better get dressed if I'm going to help go look for Dipper"
"Your coming with me?" the hyperactive girl asked, surprised
"Of course, I want to see him to you know" Stanford continued
"You do realize that we'll have to tell Wendy that's no cure right?" the child commented
"Yeah I know…" he replied sadly "And I'm not looking forward to telling her…"
"So this is the place?" Lee asked as they stood before the cave that Robbie had told them about
After another half-hour of driving (and listening to Robbie's whining) they group of teens had finally reached the place where they could drink the keg in peace, although granted they rest of Wendy's friends where still debating whether or not to ditch the wannbe be goth. As they inspected the cave, they instantly noticed a pair of massive iron gates that appeared to be torn open as well as the smell of ash in the night's air, this of course sent up a red flag in everyone's mind.
"Why are there gates attached to the cave's entrance?" Tambry asked "And for that matter, what could do that?"
"Maybe something broke out of here?" Lee theorized
"Like what, King Kong?" the girl replied "Do you know anyone or anything around here that could do break down something like?"
"Dude, you see how the gates are broken inward?" Thompson mentioned to the others "someone or something didn't want out, they wanted in!"
"And that means whatever did this could still be in there!" Nate realized, clearly terrified
"Well I say we find go in there and see for ourselves" Robbie said as he pushed past his friends and made his way to the cave
"Are you nuts?!" the heavy-set teen exclaimed "For all we know, it's still in here!"
"What's the matter? You scared?" the punk teased "Look let's just check this place out and see what happened in there"
With that, the goth teen made his way into the cave, who was soon followed by the rest of the teens, who's curiosity got the better of them. Once they were inside the cave, the smell of ash grew even stronger then before and the ground was littered with discarded weapons like spears and clubs.
"What happened here?" Lee thought out loud "It looks like a battlefield!"
"Look at the walls!" Tambry pointed out in shock as saw the cave walls "Are those...claw marks?"
"Big claw marks!" Thompson added on before turning to Robbie "I think we should leave man!"
"Not yet, there's something in here I wanna see first" the hoodie wearing teen answered
"What could you possible want to see in here?" Nate snapped "it's just a cave with something very big and probably very hungry in it!"
"Will you guys quite being a bunch of pussies!" he shouted his friends "There is nothing in here!"
Robbie gave the other teens a dark glare before continuing on his trek deeper into the cave. It was at that moment that Tambry began to suspect that the goth had another reason of wanting to be here other then to drink beer. After a few more minutes of walking deeper into the cave, they teenagers finally reached their unknown destination at last and when they came upon it, their jaws collectively dropped. Before them laid what looked like a small sea of gold, jewels and diamonds that shined brightly through the darkness of the cave. Upon seeing this field of treasure, Lee, Nate and Thompson cheered and slid down the hill of gold, laughing and tossing it into the air as they did. While the trio where enamored with their find, Tambry was more focused on they goth who had led them here.
"You bastard…" she hissed at him "You knew this was here the whole time didn't you!"
"Well a few days ago I heard that crazy old prospector yelling about how had seen a cave filled with gold" he casually explained "I didn't believe the part the bull-people, but the part about the gold sounded good enough to check out; this was the only cave I knew around here and looks like I was right on the first try, maybe with all this gold maybe I'll get Wendy to come back to me"
The girl's response to that was a strong slap across his face.
"You miserable sack of crap!" she scolded in rage "First you lie to us just so you can go on a treasure hunt and now now you think you can buy back my best friend?! Why we all put up with you is beyond me!"
"Oh don't get all high and mighty on me Tam, I bet you want some of this gold as well" he reasoned slyly "I'm more then willing to share it with you guys if you help me get my girl back"
"You can take all this gold and shove it up your ass for all I care, I'm leaving!" the pink haired girl harshly answered
As Tambry started to leave, the piles of gold began to shift around in one area, as if something was moving under the treasure. Robbie and Tambry ducked behind some rocks while Lee and Nate hide behind a small mound of gold and Thompson took refugee behind a pile of gems. The teens peaked out from their respective hiding places to see a massive shape rise out of treasure and did their best not to scream in terror at the sight of the thing that emerged from the treasure.
A Dragon.
The massive beast began to sniff the air around before a low rumbling growl escaped his mouth. The teens where all too stunned and frightened to even think of running away, not that it would help in any way in their current situation. The Dragon then pulled the rest of his body out of the gold, continuing to smell the air as it did. It then began to snake its long neck around treasure, following its nose's path to its homes intruders.
"Well thieves…" it spoke in a deep and resonating tone of voice, making everyone jump in surprise "Where are you?"
The winged monster hissed as it searched through the treasure room, looking for the ones who had dared to enter in his home.
"Come now, don't be shy…" the monster offered as he scanned the area with his yellow eyes "Step into the light!"
At this point Thompson was about to have a panic attack at any given second. Not only did he fear of being roasted alive by something that shouldn't exist, but he also feared of going crazy if he survived this whole impossible to comprehend experience. Just then he felt something drip onto his head, at first the heavy-set teen thought it was just water running off of the roof the cave; that is until he looked up and saw that it was saliva falling from the creature's mouth, who was currently looking down at him with a mix of hunger and rage in it's eyes.
"There you are" he said with a growl
The wide teen froze like a statue as he looked up at the monster that was more then likely going to incinerate him. He had to think of something quick or both he and his friends would be killed. Suddenly the Dragon lowered his head down to his level, narrowing his eyes at him as he did, as if he were carefully examining him. Thompson coughed at the smell of the creature's sulfuric breath as he tried to wave it away from his person.
"I-I didn't steal a-anything t-thing" the heavy set teen stammered out as he attempted to back away "In fact I was just-"
"Leaving?" the fire-breather finished darkly, blocking the boys path with his tail as he did "Oh I think not"
The Dragon inhaled his scent before backing his head away from him before speaking again.
"I know you" he said as he circled around the would be thief "Your name is Thompson if I recall"
"Y-yes it is!" the fat teen yelped "But how do you know me?"
"You wouldn't remember me" the giant reptile continued "Not that it matters, since your not leaving this cave alive!"
Out of the corner of his eye, Thompson saw Lee and Nate slowly making their way out of the treasure room, trying to leave quietly while gathering up as much gold as they could carry while Robbie was attempting to snatch up some of the treasure for himself as well. At first he was angry, that is until he saw Tambry, who was peaking from her hiding spot and had a concerned look in her eyes as she kept her gaze on him. This made the fat teen's heat almost skip a beat if he wasn't in danger, but knowing that his crush was worried about his well-being, however he had to snap back into reality when the monster let out a low snarl in his face.
"Now tell me, where are the other thieves hiding?" the monster questioned sharply
"I uh-don't know what you're taking about?" Thompson sheepishly lied "I-I came to see you, your most ferociousness"
"You have nice manners for a theft…" the fire-breather causally said as he backed away before shooting right up to his face "And A Liar!"
CLANG!
The beast turned away from Thompson at loud sound of his gold being dropped on the ground, giving him the chance to rush over to his friends, unfortunately though the direction he ran to was the same place the Dragon was looking toward, where he saw the rest of the fat teen's friends making off with handful's of his treasure, however his gaze froze on one of the would be thieves in particularly: Robbie. The Dragon's mind completely forgot about the gold as he focused all of his rage at the one who had torment him when he was human, but also his beloved Wendy.
"You…" he hissed as the flames within his body begin to rise "YOU WILL BURN!"
A blast of fire rocketed out of the winged beast's mouth at the group of teens, who quickly ducked behind a rock to shield them from the fire; once the blaze faded away the group ran for their lives.
"ROBBIE!" The Dragon roared as he gave chase "You cannot escape me! I will find you and I will kill you! Do you hear me? I Will Kill You!"
"What did you do to piss that thing off?" Nate hurriedly asked the punk as the fled in terror
"How the hell should I know?" the goth snapped back
"Well you're the one it's mad at!" Tambry cut in angrily
"Oh will all of you just shut up and run!" Lee exclaimed
As the group reached the outside of the cave, they ran desperately to the van, hoping that they could get away from the behemoth in it, however the Dragon opened his wings and flew ahead of them and crushed their vehicle under his claws.
"Going somewhere?" He sneered
The giant reptile inhaled again with the full intention of burning that boy and his friends alive, but suddenly a powerful force rammed into his side and knocked him to the ground. Once he recovered he saw another giant beast that looked like it crawled out of a child's nightmare standing before him, making both him and his prey look upon this newcomer in surprise.
"So this is the Dragon of Gravity Falls?" the Chimera mused "I am unimpressed…"
"What the hell is going on?!" Thompson exclaimed in both terror and confusion
"Who cares, let's get the hell outta here!" Lee quickly suggested
As the monsters faced off with one another, the group of thieves made their escape into the forest, hoping they get away before the two giant beasts fought. Dipper noticed the humans running away from the upcoming war zone and attempted to charge at them once more, once to be slashed across the face by his new opponent.
"Don't turn your back on me!" the Chimera commanded "You will not chase after lesser beings in my presence!"
"I don't know where you came from or why you're after me…" Dipper growled angrily "But I promise it'll be the last mistake you ever make!"
"Bold words" the corrupted creature replied "But let us see if you can hold true to your claim"
"Your about to find out!" the fire-breather answered sharply before unleashing a powerful roar and charging at his new enemy
After Wendy and her farther had picked up Mabel and surprising Stan as well, she noticed that both of them had a saddened look on their faces and tired their best not to look at the ginger in the eye as the sat in the backseat. After twenty minutes of driving in silence toward the mountain, Wendy mentally decided enough was enough and wanted to get some answers.
"Alright you two, you know something's up and I want to know what it is" she said
The Pines looked at one another in concern, wondering which of them should tell the teenager the truth about Dipper's monstrous condition, however they obviously did not want destroy the girl's hope for a normal life with him, but on the other hand they knew they couldn't keep the truth from her either.
"Wendy…there's something you should know about Dipper" Mabel began with a heavy heart "He's-"
The sweater wearing girls words were cut off when Manly Dan slammed on the breaks without warning, knocking everyone around within the car.
"What the hell was that for Corduroy?" Stan groaned as he rubbed the back of his neck in pain "I swear if you sprained my neck I'm gonna sue your ass back to the stone age!"
"Well I didn't want to hit them!" the lumberjack shot back as he pointed out the front window
The rest of the car's occupants looked out the front window and saw Wendy's friends (and unfortunately Robbie to) standing in the middle of the road, carrying handfuls of gold and with a look of fear in their eyes, like they had seen something that they could not explained.
In other words, they found Dipper.
The ginger and the rest of the search party stepped out of the car and approached the weary teens and before her jerk of an ex-boyfriend could even utter a single syllable, she broke his nose with a single punch.
"That's for calling me a slut" she sneered at him as he laid on the ground in pain before kicking him in the stomach "And that's for calling Dipper a twerp"
"What are you doing out here Wendy" Tambry asked, ignoring Robbie's current state
"I could ask you the same thing Tambry" Wendy replied "Where did you guys get all that gold?"
"You wouldn't believe us if we told you" Thompson chimed who was out of breath
"You stole it from a Dragon didn't you?" the red-head said
"Uh…yeah…how did you know that?" Lee spoke up
Suddenly a loud roar echoed throughout the darkness of the forest, prompting the entire group to get into action.
"I need you guys to take me where you found the Dragon now!" Wendy ordered
"What? Are you crazy?!" the fat teen nearly shouted "There's two monsters having a throw down back there and you want to go see it?!"
"What do you mean two monsters?" Mabel asked
"We where about to be burned alive by that thing then this weird flying lion looking thing came in and picked a fight with the Dragon" Nate answered "Why the hell would want to go headfirst into that?"
"Look I'll explain everything when we get there" she explained "You guys just need to trust me on this ok?"
Even though they had no intentions of going back to where they were nearly killed, they did trust Wendy and against their better judgment went with decision to help her find the winged reptile. After quickly dumping their gold into the truck of the car, they piled into the now crowded backseat. Meanwhile while is was going on, Robbie was attempting to crawl away, however he only got five feet before Wendy's farther roughly yanked him up from the dirt by the back of his hoodie.
"And just where do you think your going?" he questioned darkly as he glared daggers at him "You didn't think you could just call my daughter a slut and get away with it, did you?"
With that, Dan tossed the punk into the back of the car before seating off once again to find Dipper who hopefully was handling his own against whatever creature he was locked in combat with.
Dipper lunged at the Chimera's throat, only for it dodge out of the way and slash him across face again. The boy turned Dragon retaliated by striking his attacker's side with a powerful swipe with his tail, knocking him into some nearby trees. The lion-like titan recoiled and lunged at the winged reptile, only to be grabbed its opponent by the front legs and flung him unto the ground, where he attempted to disembowel the hodgepodge monster; only to have it ram its claws into his underbelly, making him snarl into pain before pulling the claws out of him. Dipper then backed off out of fear of getting slashed again, giving his enemy the chance to jump back to its feet.
The reptilian titan unleashed a powerful stream of fire toward the Chimera, however the lion-like beast exhaled a volley of fire of it's own out of its mouth. When the two fires collided, they canceled each other out in the form a blazing white light, temporarily blinding them both. The Dragon was the first to regain his vision and took this opportunity to tackle the still impaired monster right into the side of the cave; he then took his attacker by the head and slammed it repeatedly against the stones along the cave until he felt a sharp pain shoot up from his right back leg.
He looked down to see his enemy's serpent tail biting down into his leg, injecting its venom into him as it did, the winged reptile snarled in agony as he yanks the snake of his leg with his claws. While the Dragon was distracted by the bite to his leg, his grip loosened, this allowed the Chimera to free himself from Dipper's grip and sink his long cat-like fangs into the fire-breather's shoulder. The boy turned monster took his claws and slashed at the wicked beast's leg, cutting a tendon is his leg as he did; making the Chimera let go and road roar in pain. Dipper then kicked his opponent of him, giving him the chance to get back to his feet and prepare to continue the fight.
"So…you do have some fight in you after all…" the amalgam monster commented, trying not to put to much weight on his now wounded limb "But it matter's not, even if you somehow mange to slay me I have already wo-"
"SHUT! UP!" the giant reptile exclaimed furiously as he slashed the Chimera across the face
It didn't take long for the lion-serpent to recoil from his attacker's blindside, which he returned in kind with a slash of his own, cutting deep into the massive reptile's chest. Dipper delivered another power smack to his opponent head from his tail before pulling back a bit. He knew that that the Chimera was trying to gloat about the venom coursing through his veins, but he didn't want to have that on his mind during the rest of the fight, even though he could feel the poison burning inside of him and his injuries were only helping it spread faster through his body. He knew that this may be his final battle, but he'd be damned if he lost this one.
Dipper once again launched another volley of flames at the other monster, however this time the Chimera wasn't prepared for it and ended of taking the blaze right in center of his face. The once great king of the Wood Elves roared out as he stumbled backwards from the flames, giving Dipper the chance to lunged at his attacker again, however as he went to take a bite out of the Chimera's throat, he felt a wicked pain stab him in the chest, making him reel back from his attempted assault. His vision became a blurred mess as he felt everything around begin to spin, causing him to collapse to ground in a heap as the venom worked its way through his monstrous body. Thankfully, the mixed-up monster was still reeling from being hit the Dragon's fiery attack to capitalize on this new development
"Dipper!" he heard a female voice call out to him in a panic
Even though his eyesight was still a mess, he could see the outline of an all too familiar figure just a few feet away from him: Wendy. At first he thought he was just seeing a hallucination as a side effect of the poison that was now infecting his mind, but then he felt her hand softly touch the scales on his face, it was then that he knew that this was truly her. He could also make out the shapes and figures of his sister and great-uncle, his lover's dad and much to his distaste Robbie and his band of armature thieves.
"Wen…dy" he whispered in a haze
Suddenly before she could speak, her farther came up from behind and pulled her away despite her protests, but he had a good reason to; the Chimera had finally recovered from the fire and was ready to finish this; however, once he was done with the fire he saw the red-head and a plan formed in his mind.
"You care for these humans?" he said darkly "Then you can watch them die!"
The amalgam titan leapt at the group of humans, but then without warning a flurry of massive roots erupted from the very earth; twisting and morphing into a giant pair of hands that caught the Chimera before he could lay a single claw on any of the humans. Wendy and the others where obviously confused by this-with the exception of Stan, who knew exactly who had just saved them from being mutilated. It was then that their savior emerged from the shadows of the woods alongside her bodyguard, making everyone gasp in shock at the sight before them; fortunately the owner of the Mystery Shack quickly broke the ice.
"Alright, nobody freak out these guys are friends" he began "This is Nara, the queen of the Wood Elves and her grumpy bodyguard Valko"
"Wait, elves?" Thompson spoke up "Like honest to god elves? I've gotta be dreaming!"
"Shut it fat boy!" Stan snapped before getting back on track "so long story short, Nara is my magical ex-girlfriend"
"I'd prefer the term long distance lover, but I believe we have more pressing matters to attend to" Nara chimed up "Like the creature that is currently trying to kill us all"
"Then by all means babe, do you thing" her human lover playfully replied, as if he wasn't in peril at the moment "oh and I guess you can help to Valko"
"Hmph, just keep the rest of these mortals out of our way" the queen's bodyguard replied sharply before turning to face the darkened forest "Archers!"
Out of the darkness a large troop of elf warriors sprung out of their hiding spots and unleashed fury of arrows at the captured monster, striking deep into his flesh. As the Chimera thrashed about in its attempts to get free, it failed to see its previous opponent use all of his strength to get back his feet and rush at his now captive enemy. Dipper started off by biting the serpent tail in half, not wanting to be bit again, he then grabbed hold of the fallen king's wings and ripped them off with all of his might. Valko drew his sword and dash up along the cat-like beast's leg before leaping of it and impaling his blade right into his once great lord's eye. Meanwhile Dipper kept up his attack by taking hold of the Chimera's head tightly around the top of it.
"DIE!" He screamed as he tore the monster's head off, pulling his spinal cord out as he did
Everyone both human and elf stood in awe and fear at the ferocity the winged behemoth had just shown in ending is enemy's life. Nara looked away from the carnage, not wanting this to be the last imagine of her farther she would remember. Stan noticed this and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, to which she gave him a loving smile in return.
Dipper tossed the severed head unto the ground before crushing it under his foot, he then threw back his head at released a triumphant roar into the sky, spouting flames from his maw as he did. While this looked like a victory to him, to the rest of the crowd; it was a slaughter.
"I…I didn't think he could do something like that" Mabel said, stunned
"Guy's I don't know whether I should be sick or go to therapy!" Thompson
"It would do you well to keep yourself from vomiting around the queen human" Valko warned with a glare
At that moment, the Dragon roared again, only this time it was roar of pain as he once again fell to the ground.
"He's been poisoned!" Nara declared "We must get him back to our homeland before-oh! "
Nara fell to her feet, to which her human lover caught her and helped her back up, soon all the other elves were showing their strength was fading as well.
"Nara, you and your men have been outside of you home to long, you have to go back!" Stan said
"Y-yes my love, but we will return with our finest medicine to help him" she replied
"No one's going anywhere!" Robbie suddenly commanded "Well except me and all that gold packed in the gold, maybe I'll help myself to the rest of it in that cave once Smaug here kills over"
"Robbie you asshole, Dipper's going die unless we can get him medicine!" Wendy shouted
Yet again, the ginger's circle of friends where once more stunned by another sudden revelation, the very Dragon that was trying to kill them earlier tonight was somehow the same person who saved them from ghosts, however the goth was more angry then confused.
"You ditched me for a big lizard?!" he snapped "What, do you two play castle or something?"
Wendy attempted to throw another punch at the jerk, but this time he caught her arm and put her in a headlock before pulling out a pocket knife. Everyone- even the weakned elves tried to rush at the young madman, but they backed off when he started waving the blade dangerously close to her body
"Alright so here's what's gonna happen" he started off as he held the knife to the girl throat "I'm gonna take the car, the gold and Wendy back to town and if anyone one of you so much as even move from where your standing, I'll cut her throat!"
"I swear I'll pull you inside out for this you little bastard!" Dan threatened
"Robbie if you hurt Wendy, I'll burn you alive!" Dipper snarled
"Let Wendy go you psycho!" Mabel demanded
"Dude this isn't cool, let Wendy go" Tambry said sharply
"Shut up!" the punk exclaimed over all of them "No just stay where you are and nobody gets hurt"
"No, somebody is gonna get hurt Robbie" Wendy spoke up "And that's you!"
With great speed, the red-head elbowed the goth in the gut, making him leg go of her. Even though the poison was affecting his sight, the Dragon blasted a wave of flames at the psychopath once his lover was clear and while his aim was slightly off, he still managed to burn the entire right side of his body. Robbie screamed in agony as collapsed to the dirt with half of his body covered with third-degree burns. The winged lizard wanted to more, but the toxin in his veins was growing stronger by the second, focusing him to lie down.
"Oh Christ, how are we going to explain all this to the cops" Nate choked out, nearly on the breaking edge of sanity
"You won't have to" Nara answered as her eyes glowed darkly "You and your friends will go home at once and remember everything you have seen tonight as if it where a fleeting dream"
Wendy's friends suddenly became stiff like boards (with the exception of Robbie) before walking in a zombie-like state into the forest, heading for their respective homes; at first the ginger was a bit uneasy at the spell her friends where just placed under.
"I promise you my dear they we be alright" the queen assured the teenager weakly before turning her attention back to wicked teen "And as for you-"
Everyone turned to see that Robbie had vanished without a single trance, although it wasn't a giant mystery as to who was behind this sudden disappearance.
"Puck…" Valko growled under his breath
"Who the hell's that?" Dan questioned
Before the elf could further explained, they group heard the Dragon roar in torment again as white foam began to rise from his mouth. He let out pain-filled moan before falling over on his side, blacking out as he did.
"Guy's Dipper's fading fast!" the Dragon's sibling pointed out
"We'll worry about skinny jeans later, right now we need to patch up Dipper" Stan said "Nara you think you can teleport us all back to your home?"
"I will…try" she managed to say
With every fiber of her being, Nara pulled off a teleportation spell that brought both her subjects and the rest of humans and the dying Dragon back to her kingdom, not knowing that a certain trickster was already making up a scheme in his head.
Robbie didn't know what had happened, one second he was surrounded by people who he despised next he was somewhere else in the forest, although truth be told he didn't really care where he gone since he was still in a great amount of pain because the burns left the Dragon's fire.
"Looks like someone was left in the oven to long" a voice joked playfully "personally I like my psychopathic humans medium-rare, not well-done"
"w-who's there?" the charred teen groaned out
A tall thin figure before that badly burned boy. The newcomer had long white hair with pointed ears and wore a medieval harlequin costume; the stranger looked down at the boy with a sly grin on his face.
"I'm your new best friend Robbie" the imp said before pulling out a strange bottle from his vest "and I've got just the thing to help you"
"Wha-what's that supposed to do?" the goth asked
"Let's just say it'll level the playing field between you and the big lizard who barbecued you" the stranger replied as he tossed him the bottle "although honestly I don't know what exactly you'll become; it's always been a bit of a luck of the draw kind of thing"
Robbie knew that whatever was in this bottle more then likely had some serious side-effects, but if let him get his revenge on that twerp and everyone else who had wronged then he'd be more then happy to drink it. With that, he tore off the bottle cork and began to guzzle down the mysterious liquid down to the very last drop, this made the boy's 'new friend' very nervous.
"Hey whoa, whoa, whoa! All you need is a just a sip!" he tried to reason
But it was too late; the boy had already drunk the bottle contents. He threw the bottle on the ground before screaming out in both rage and pain as the potion hit his insides like a sledgehammer. His eyes turned a pale light blue with white reptilian irises in them; then he started to feel a strange itching sensation under his burns and without thinking twice, he ripped away his burnt skin to reveal pale blue and white scales under the charred flesh. Instead of crying out in suffering, the young madman started bursting out in a fit of hysterical laughter as his transformation continued, making Puck for once his eternal life shudder with dread.
"What have I done?" he thought to himself in fear
"Oh this feels great!" Robbie laughed out in joy as he continued to change "I'll find that little twerp and I'll rip his heart out!"
He threw back his head released an inhuman roar from his body, exhaling out a stream of frost into the air as he did.
