I walked outside, taking a deep breath. "Nothing can make today all that much worse," I said blandly, a hand on my head and leaning somewhat to the right. Water exploded on my head, soaking me immediately. "Will you stop with the water America?!" He was on the roof, laughing again, as well as Prussia and Canada. "God dammit America," I shook my head. An arm was put around my shoulders and Britain kissed my cheek. "We can get back at him, correct?" He nodded and chuckled. "Of course, love," I smirked. "Good."
Once America calmed down he spoke again. "Yo dudes! I just remembered something!" All eyes turned to the American. "Today is someone's birthday!" All the countries gathered together and I took the opportunity to crawl around everyone's feet and out of the group. "Hey bro seems like you gotta catch your girlfriend before she can get away from the most awesome fricking party ever!" I stopped and looked back. America jumped down from the roof and landed then grabbed my ankles and attempted to pull me onto the deck again.
I grabbed onto the pool fence, "Noooooooooooo!" "I forgot you had gotten stronger, guys help me!" More and more countries tried to pull me off the fence but their efforts were of no success. Faroe-cat pranced over and sat in front of me. "Do you have any suggestions?" She meowed and with that jumped up and rubbed her head in my armpit, making me automatically release, everyone flying backward. I looked up at the cat,"You, my friend, are evil," and with that, she meowed triumphantly. "Someone get her! She's off the fence!" yelled America, laughing hysterically. "Fuck no!"
-Britain's POV-
I stood on the porch leaning on the house, watching the whole scene take place. Emily scrambled to her feet and ran from the porch to the front of the house, everyone following behind America. I sighed and looked down at Faroe-cat who was sitting on my foot. "She's a troublemaker you know that?" The cat meowed and ran off in the direction where everyone else went. Emily came sprinting around the corner then. "I don't need any recognition! I got enough already! Leave me alone!" A mob of people came running then, America in front still, "Don't be such a sore thumb! Enjoy today!" I got up and ran alongside Emily. "Why not go to the oak tree?" She looked over, panting. "Sounds good," she smiled, "thank you for the idea!"
I slowed my pace and stopped at the corner of the house, watching her sprint across the yard. "How I love her," I said with a sigh. The mob came around the corner and America stopped in confusion. "Dude, where's your girlfriend?" "Why should I tell you?" America leaned back a little, "because it's her birthday and she deserves the best fricking party ever!" "I have no idea where she is." "Dude, you're such a liar. Seriously bro, where is she?" I sighed and leaned on the house. "She went to hide in the pool area. "WOO! Thanks, bro!" They ran to the back of the house, America yelling "You won't escape that easy!" the entire way.
I walked over to the tree and looked up. "You're good now, love." She peeked out from one of the branches. "Thanks again." I chuckled. "It's no problem at all." With that, I started to climb the tree and sat on a branch of equal height as the one she sat on. "Why do you not celebrate? It is a joyous day after all." She shrugged, "I just never really enjoyed birthday parties." I took her hand in mine and kissed the back of it, holding her gaze. "Can you at least try to enjoy this one?" "I don't-" "try for me?" She stayed silent for a while. "I guess I'll try. But only for you." I reached across the branches and rubbed her cheek. "Thank you." She nodded in reply.
"We should be getting out of the tree now." I started down and she grabbed my arm. "Hm?" I looked up. "Can you and I spend time together later? Please?" There was a distant look of sorrow in her eyes, like something that had once been there was ripped away. "Of course, love." I stroked her hair out of her face, "I promise." She nodded in reply. "I believe you."
-regular POV-
We climbed down the tree and I sat on the bottom branch. I carefully scouted the yard, careful to spot out any of the rabbit dogs out to get me. There was no one in sight, so I quietly jumped down. "Wait," Britain said quietly. "What?" I asked, seeing that there was no one in the yard. "No one's here except for you and myself." "Don't be too sure of that." I turned slowly to see Turkey leaning on the tree, smirking triumphantly. "I could call everyone here right now you know that?"
I raised my hands up to about shoulder height and took a step backward. "But you wouldn't because you know I would hate it." He smirked and took a step forwards. "Maybe I would, maybe I wouldn't." I sighed a little and looked up at Britain. "Any thoughts on this one?" He shook his head slowly, "Not that I can think of at the moment but why not just go along with it so the bloody git won't be screaming all the time?" Turkey looked up, "Who asked you, eh?!" I hit Turkey in the arm. "He wasn't talking about you, he was talking about America." He crossed his arms and turned, "I am only making sure this Brit is okay for you." I smirked, "Yeah. Sure."
Britain hopped out of the tree and landed next to me. "I'm sure you should know that I am a gentleman and will do anything for Faroe, even if it means risking my life." Turkey looked down at Britain, seeing that he was a bit taller than the Brit, and they glared at each other. I stood in between the two, trying to figure out when the stare off would end. I poked them both on the shoulders. "What?!" both of them said at the same time, both looking at me. " You do realize that I'm not that important, Britain, and I can take care of myself, Turkey." They both stared at me for a while. The air felt cold. "I'm only telling the truth…" The two dropped their gaze. "I guess you're right, but you are still important. It's silly for us to fight."
Turkey nodded in agreement, "I understand that you can take care of yourself, but you're still my little sister. It's natural to want to take care of your siblings." "Don't worry guys, but seriously, do you want your relationship to be as "great" as mine and France's?" They both shuddered, turned to one another, and shook hands. "We agree to not argue over you." I gave a quick thumbs up. "Thanks, guys."Britain nodded and Turkey bowed a little. America came around the corner except alone this time. "DUDE! I FOUND YOU!" He came sprinting over. "Yeah yeah yeah, just calm down and slow your ass down!" He came to a sudden halt in front of me and went into his hero pose. "Don't worry it's not like I'm going to run into you or anything." "I've heard those words before," I said with an eye roll.
America stood smiling like an idiot, waving his right hand around. "You know you have to enjoy a party I throw especially when it's for you the best cousin in the world and who knows maybe there's even a surprise at the end just to make your day even better and…" he continued to talk for about five minutes straight without even taking a breath.
-Russia's POV-
"America sure does talk a lot." Russia-cat meowed in agreement. "Well boy, there is only one way to fix that. I think you know how." I knelt and Russia-cat purred as I pet his head. "You go and get Emily, okay boy?" He meowed and waddled off over to where she, America, Britain, and Turkey were. I swayed a bit, a little uneasy. "I don't want to let her go.."
-Regular POV-
I felt a slight pressure on my leg and looked down to see Russia-cat pawing at me. "Awwww, hey little buddy!" I scooped him up and he purred. "You're so cute!" America attempted to touch Russia-cat, but knowing that Russia-cat hates America with all of his heart, you can expect what happened next. Russia-cat pounced from my arms onto America, scratching and hissing. "WHAT DID I EVER DO TO THE CAT?! GET IT OFF GET IT OFF GET IT OFF!" "Russia-cat I know you don't like the guy but you don't need to make his face look like Latvia after Russia stretches him!" I quickly snatched Russia-cat away, America laying on his back with his mouth open. "Uh... America?" He stayed there. I looked down at Russia-cat, "You are a ball of trouble, just like Russia," I smirked.
