It was supposed to be a nice day. I was supposed to be a break from all the tension surrounding him that is his work. It was supposed to be relaxing.

But, it wasn't.

Iemitsu had been on his way to his office to call his beloved wife whom he hadn't seen or heard from for four years. The last time he talked to her, she had excitedly told him about Hikaru's first three days school trip.

But he got a call from reborn. It was an unexpected one, but he answered it nonetheless, dismissing the soft but painful throb in his head as a normal headache.

And the hitman had delivered the worst possible news.

His nana...was dead...?

The blond didn't believe that. Didn't want to believe.

So he denied it. Denied everything the hitman said. He was shouting and crying. He was miserable, he knew that, but he couldn't get himself to care at the moment. His voice grew hoarse from all the shouting and overuse. Nana can't be dead! She can't!

The CEDEF boss vaguely registered the fact that nono was beside him now, Iemitsu had no doubt that the aging man pieced everything together from all of his shouts of denial, he was trying to comfort him, to wash his pain away, but he was no rain, all he could do was accept it, accept the pain of his friend, but he was trying, whispering soothing words to the sobbing blond.

But Iemitsu didn't hear anything other than his own agony.

But he had heard it clearly when nono gave him permission to go to Japan. And the distressed blond hadn't wasted a second. He was immediately on his way to the airport. He was going to Japan.

But he knew. Iemitsu knew that no matter how much he denied it, it would do nothing to change the harsh reality. But that made it even more painful.

He was hoping beyond all hope that reborn's sadistic tendencies were behind the call and not the actual truth.

Sawada household

Tsuna was watching in amusement as his brother got another beating from reborn.

They both were seated in Hikaru's room which was cleaned by Hikaru earlier with some prompting from reborn.

The hitman decided to start with tutoring them in their weakest subjects. Tsuna's was math while hikaru's was English.

Tsuna had been puzzled, how can someone find English hard? It was pretty easy when he learnt it. Or maybe that's because he likes learning different languages.

Hikaru was a lost case when it came to English, though. But reborn was planning to change that of course.

Reborn huffed "rewrite it" he ordered hikaru while holding a sheet of paper.

"Why? What's wrong with it?" asked hikaru with an irritated frown.

"This is a nightmare" reborn stated bluntly "there are way too many grammatical errors and the wordings aren't right."

Hikaru grumbled under his breath as he began to write the essay again, for the fifth time.

Reborn then turned to Tsuna, and you can feel hikaru's eager eyes staring at him.

Tsuna knew that hikaru wants to see him get hurt like he had before, reborn knew that too, in fact the hitman would have been happy to oblige but the kid was fragile and he can't risk it.

Maybe when he gets better, he did say that he was.

Reborn looked over Tsuna's homework and saw a number of mistakes, they were completely normal mistakes, but there's this something about the way he wrote the answers that screams 'fake'.

But that can't be, as far as reborn is concerned, Tsuna doesn't need to hide his intellect at all, so why? Why does it feel like his actions are fake?

Reborn decided to watch him closer, and filed his thoughts for later. But now, back to tutoring

Reborn pointed at the third answer and said "you used the wrong formula here" he pointed towards another one "and here too" he pointed at the one below it "here, the calculation is wrong"

Tsuna gave a nod and proceeded to correct his 'mistakes'

Hikaru looked incredulous, why wasn't his brother beaten like he was?

"Why wasn't he punished like i was?!" he yelled at the suit wearing infant

Reborn raised an eyebrow at him, did he forget about his brother's condition or did he just not care? "He's sick" reborn answered curtly, with a voice that seemed as if he was talking to an idiot. That might actually be the case with hikaru.

Hikaru clicked his tongue in annoyance "well he haven't gotten sick since four years back!"

Tsuna's face didn't betray any emotion as reborn turned to him, so before he could ask Tsuna answered with a smile "i told you i was getting better, didn't i?"

Reborn merely nodded and Tsuna knew he was thinking of a better way to train him.

On the outside tsuna looked calm, but on the inside...he was freaking out

'damn it, hikaru! You never spend time here, so where on freaking earth did you get that idea from?! Just because you haven't seen me sick doesn't mean that i never was! Sometimes i just hate it when i hide those things! Great now i can't tell reborn the truth because in actuality i really am supposed to get better but having that doesn't help, meaning i have to endure the training that will cause my death, literally. But if i told him that i did get sick, then he would want to know more and i don't think i could hide the fact that-'

He was cut off from his internal tantrum when he heard a ringing downstairs. His eyes widened comically and cried "I forgot the cookies!!" as he rushed out the room leaving a cloud of dust behind.

Reborn turned to look at his other student when he heard him whisper "not the cookies..." with wide eyes and he followed his brother's example and rushed downstairs.

Leaving reborn alone in the room "they're Iemitsu's kids alright" leon climbed down to reborn's shoulder and poked his tongue out "alright, I'll get you one"

As he was heading down he heard Hikaru's cry of relief "they're safe!"

When he did reach down half of the chocolatey snacks were, yet again, gone.

The hitman was starting to get irritated by that so used his leon mallet and proceeded to teach his student some etiquette

"OWW! WHY'D YOU DO THAT!?" hikaru cried

"Don't be greedy, bakaru"

"But they're tasty..." hikaru half whined and half mumbled. It wasn't supposed to be heard but the no.1 hitman, and the no.1 hacker, both seasoned fighters with sharpened senses, heard it clearly.

hikaru was staring at the ground and had a small blush of embarrassment on his cheeks.

"Oh? I didn't quite catch that, what did you say"

"I SAID THAT they are tasty" hikaru started off as a yell but lowered his voice at the end, the blush grew darker.

"Speak louder, bakaru"

"I SAID THAT THEY WERE TASTY!!" now hikaru could be mistaken for a tomato from all of the blood that rushed to his face.

The shrunken hitman could practically see Tsuna glowing from happiness and his smile rivaled the sun.

"Hm, is bakaru a tsundere?" reborn decided to embarrass his blond student, seeing him all flustered in contrast to his usual arrogant attitude, amused the hitman greatly.

The mood was abruptly cut short when the trio heard the door slam open and a blond male, with puffy red rimmed eyes, was seen standing outside the kitchen, lingering awkwardly by the door frame, staring at the occupants of the room with an unsure glint in his eyes.

Tsuna was the first to break the silence, he gave the blond a soft smile as he greeted him "Okaeri, tou-san"
