Yes, I'm still alive!

First off, I hope all of you had an amazing Chrismas, or Hanukkah or what ever you celebrate, and a happy New Year!

Now, I hope you all like this new chapter!

However, I do have to say something.

I honestly cannot say when the next chapter will be up. Life has been amazingly busy this last few months, I started at a new college, and it's really time consuming studying two languages. Also, I'm in the process of writing the first rough draft of my book, so that of course has first priority. And lastly, I just have a really hard time writing down the chapters for this story lately. It just won't go as I like it to. BUT, this in no way means that I'm abandoning this story. Really, I love it dearly, and I have a ton of ideas for it, and it would really just be a shame to let it go...

So bear with me, guys, I try to update as quick as possible!

Now, enjoy!

Chapter 10- Sunday surprise

The formal had been his very personal hell. All these giggly girls, behaving like crazy people, laughing in a voice so high he would have loved to stick his fingers into his ears and run out of the large ballroom of their school. He hadn't been the only one suffering like that. Most of his friends hadn't looked forward to this dance, except for the ones who had girlfriends who went to Crawford. All the others had slouched in their seats, drank punch and waited for the mandatory four hours to be over.

They had all deserved Sunday, where they didn't have to get up at eight o'clock and were free to do whatever they liked.

For Nick this was sleeping until lunch, then get up and then maybe play some xbox. Nothing too exhausting, because there was a Monday approaching, and Mondays always were hard.

Sadly, there was way too much noise outside his room in the hall way for Nick to sleep peacefully and into the wee hours of the day. The boy groaned when he felt the rays of sunshine streaming into the room and onto his face, because Jeff and he had forgotten to close the curtains properly the night before. They had done everything to leave the dance as soon as possible, even if it meant having to hide out in their room without being able to play on their console, because that would have been too loud. In the end, they had lain in their beds, Jeff reading comics and Nick researching for an assignment in English. Eventually they had fallen asleep, without caring whether or not the curtains were properly closed. Much to Nick's dismay now, because how was he supposed to fall asleep again if there was light right in his face?! And what was all that noise anyway?

"Jeff, tell them to be quiet! I want to sleep! I deserve to sleep!" the dark haired boy mumbled, loud enough for his best friend to hear.

"No, Nicky, I want to sleep, I'm younger than you. You tell them to be quiet" Jeff mumbled with his head halfway under his pillow, so understanding the blonde was rather difficult. Nick sighed. Of course Jeff would play the age card. There was nothing he could say against his argument, because it was true, he was three months older than Jeff. The boy sighed again and then slowly rolled out of the bed and made his way towards the door, intending to tell anyone who was in the hall to shut up or be sorry.

What Nick hadn't expected was the delicious smell that wafted through the hallway of their dorm, right into his nose and evoked a loud grumble of his stomach. Why did it smell so good, it was Sunday, Audrey didn't have to make breakfast on Sundays.

"What's going on? Why does it smell like food?" Nick asked the next best dorm mate that walked past their door, Trent, a fellow Warbler. The round-faced boy shrugged, but continued to make his way towards the stairs to go down and to the kitchen, where the smell was undeniably coming from.

"I don't know why there's food, I only know there is food. Luke told me it was the best thing he has ever had in his life. I would hurry up if you want something" he explained and trudged down the stairs.

Nick returned into his room and shook his blonde friend awake.

"Dude, wake up. It smells delicious out there. Trent said Luke said there was the best food in the kitchen he has ever eaten! Get up, or it'll be gone!" he said and pulled the blanket and pillow away to wake his friend, but he didn't have to do it, because with the word 'food' Jeff was sitting straight in his bed, ready to go.

"God, I'm hungry, you can't imagine! It's as if I haven't eaten in a whole month! Come on!" he exclaimed and jumped out of his bed and out of the door, not looking back, not even stopping to put on some clothes over the shirt and boxers he slept in. Nick shrugged and followed his friend downstairs.

With every step he took the smell was getting better and more intense. Nick's mouth was beginning to water and another loud grumble erupted from his stomach. He really was hungry and these good aromas weren't helping him to tone it down.

It was even louder in the kitchen and dining room than it was in the hall way upstairs. Almost everyone from their dorm was pacing between the kitchen and the dining room, plate in hand, a huge smile on their faces. Before he could step foot into the room, Wes came out, ambushing his friend and fellow Warbler.

"You won't believe it! You have no idea how good this food is! This is amazing! She has to stay here forever, okay?!" the Asian almost screamed at him, before returning to his seat at the table, already tucking in while still walking. This was very unlike behavior for the otherwise very composed leader of their choir council.

Nick was confused. Wasn't Audrey here all the time anyway? What made Wes say she had to stay, when she already was staying? His curiosity peaked, Nick made his way into the kitchen, trying to see where all the food was coming from and, more importantly, who was making it.

When he was finally able to get a close look at the stove, he couldn't believe his eyes. In front of the cooker, with her back to him, stood a petite girl with dark hair, wielding a spatula and turning pancakes, before putting them on the plate of the next boy standing in line to get more food. Next to her was an array of bowls full of other foods, as well as trays with muffins, bacon, scrambled eggs and everything else you could imagine as breakfast foods.

"What are you doing here?" Nick exclaimed after a moment of shock. Rachel turned towards the boy and smiled a thousand watts smile.

"Nice hair!" she said to him, then turned back to the cooker. Self-consciously Nick patted down his hair, which was standing up in every possible direction. Hey, he hadn't known there was a girl waiting in the kitchen, or else he would have spent more time making himself look presentable, or at least put on some more clothes!

"What are you doing here, cooking breakfast for us?" he asked again while pouring himself a glass of orange juice. He still couldn't believe it. Rachel was actually standing in front of him, in an apron, flipping pancakes.

"I thought I would surprise you after that 'oh so horrible' formal that you had to attend yesterday. Why, don't you like me being here?!" she challenged and Nick had to smile at her cheek.

"You know, if you ask me like that… " he started, but then succumbed to his laughter. "Of course I like you being here! I told you on Friday I'd rather have spent time with you yesterday than with this mob of hyenas that are the girls from Crawford. You should have heard them! I know for sure that their screeching and laughing is not good for their vocal chords." Nick grabbed a plate and then stood in line as well to wait for food. In front of him stood Jeff, hopping from one food to the other, excited to 1) have a nice breakfast and 2) see his bunny nose again.

While the line etched further, Nick looked at all the food on display. There was so much, but most of the things must contain either egg or milk. Nick sighed. Maybe there wouldn't be much for him to choose from. He was looking forward to it, anyway! When it was finally his turn, he looked at the girl that was slowly, but surely, making her way into his heart, even though he still denied it vehemently, expectantly.

"So, what can I eat from all of this? I mean, I can't eat anything containing milk, or any dairy for the matter and e-" he started but Rachel cut him off with a pancake on his plate.

"Nicky, you can eat all of it. All of it is made with artificial egg and soy products, so you and I can enjoy this meal as well" she explained and Nick positively beamed with joy. This girl was incredible.

"Really? This is great! You are so cool, Rachel, really you are!" he exclaimed and edged further to heap food onto his plate. Rachel only smiled at the boy, but then turned to Audrey, who was standing next to her, smiling to herself about the obvious display of affection from both Nick and Rachel.

"Can you maybe take over for a while? I'm getting quite hungry" she asked and without any further word Audrey took the spatula from the younger girl and ushered her to take a plate full of food as well.

Nick still couldn't believe Rachel had gone to such length for them. She had actually sacrificed her Sunday to drive over to Dalton and cook for thirty crazy boys. And it was delicious food the boy acknowledged when he sat down and began to devour the things on his plate.

"Oh my dear Lord, this is amazing!" Jeff exclaimed from next to him and Nick smiled. But Jeff was right, all of this food was amazing. In that moment Rachel came up to them, plate in hand.

"Can I join you here?" she asked, a smile on her face when she saw how Jeff almost had his head sunk into the food on his plate instead of using a fork. Nick smiled brightly at her and pulled out the chair next to him. Surprisingly, Blaine wasn't up yet.

"Sure, there's always space for an amazing cook such as you are" he said and made Rachel blush.

"Stop it! I'm just testing some recipes. None of this is my own creation, I just worked along the outlines of what was given to me! Any praise should go to the person writing the cooking book I used!" she said and sat down.

"No but really, what's in there to make it all taste so awesome?" Jeff inquired again and the girl smiled.

"Simple, it's vegan. All that's on your plate is made without dairy products, real egg or meat. That's the secret of this breakfast!" she said and Jeff stopped eating, looked down on his plate, then up again at Rachel.

"Really? I always thought vegan food would taste horrible, like carton or something, really dull, but this is awesome! Why did you cook vegan, bunny nose?" he further asked, making her smile by the use of his nick name for her.

"I always cook vegan, Jeff. I'm living on a vegan diet, and I know Nick is lactose intolerant and allergic to egg, so I thought why not cook all of it vegan and have all of you enjoy this experience. I'm sure not many of you have ever tried it before" she explained and Nick nodded in agreement. It was true, not many of the boys living in this dorm had ever tried to eat what Nick was eating every day. Whenever Audrey cooked something without egg or dairy for all of them, they barely ate anything, too biased that it wouldn't taste any good.

"Oh, okay, then it makes sense. Thank you for making me try. I will eat Audrey's vegan food from now on, too, at least try it. Like I said, I always thought it wouldn't taste good. Anyway, what are we going to do today?" Jeff asked, changing the subject. Rachel and Nick looked at each other and shrugged.

"I don't know… Anything's fine, really. I have to clean up everything first though, because I made quite the mess with all the cooking and I would never leave Audrey to clean up on her own. And you should get dressed maybe. It's February, shorts and a shirt are a little cold for this season" Rachel declared and made the boy next to her blush when he looked down at himself.

"Yes, maybe… maybe we should do that first. And then we could maybe show you the school and the grounds. I hope you have a coat with you this time. I don't know how many more sweaters I have spare to give to you. I do need some parts of my uniform, you know" he joked, trying to cover up his embarrassment at being nearly half naked in front of Rachel. Really, he should have known better than to just stroll downstairs in his sleeping attire. One just didn't do that!

"Okay, well, then you go up and get dressed and I will start with the kitchen. Looks like we are the last to finish with eating anyway. I didn't see Blaine though. Do you think he would appreciate it if I fixed him a plate for later? I don't want him to be the only one to miss out on breakfast only because he decided to sleep in" Rachel asked and Jeff nodded.

"Yeah, I think that's the best idea. I heard he was at the formal quite a bit longer than we were. Apparently, he had a very nice conversation with Thomas and his girlfriend. David said he saw them sitting in a corner, talking about Star Wars for over two hours! No wonder he is tired now!" he said and the threesome got up to bring their now empty plates in the kitchen and the boys then headed back upstairs.

Rachel started putting the dirty dishes into piles and then filled the sink with water for them to soak in. She then fixed Blaine a plate with various items from her buffet, and put it in the now cold oven. She found a pad of paper on the counter and wrote out a note for the curly haired boy and a warning to all the others not to take anything from the plate or they would feel her wrath.

The girl then made to put the leftovers in containers and stored them in the fridge. It wasn't much to store away anymore, though. Most of the food had been eaten and Rachel had to smile at the thought of making the boarders happy with her food.

She was just finished with cleaning the dishes when Nick returned into the kitchen. He saw the pile of plates that had to be dried and grabbed a dish rag to start doing so.

"You don't have to help me clean up. I made the mess, after all" Rachel tried to stop him, but Nick wouldn't have any of it.

"No it's okay. You cooked so much and amazing, the least I could do is help to clean up. You really made all the boys love you today, do you know that?" he said and Rachel felt her cheeks flush.

Nick looked at the girl across from him and couldn't help the smile forming on his face. She really was an extraordinary character. Nick had never met a person such as Rachel Berry. She was kind, funny and really close to being perfect. He hoped this friendship would last.

Soon the two of them were finished with cleaning the kitchen and just when they hung the dish rags to dry Jeff came down the stairs and into the kitchen.

"Oh you are done already. There's nothing for me to do anymore?" he inquired and Nick whacked him in the arm lightly.

"Don't you pretend to be sorry about that! Admit it, you took extra long, so you wouldn't have to help clean the kitchen. I know you hate chores" he admonished his blonde friend, but didn't stop grinning, indicating there were no hard feelings.

"Okay, you caught me. But come on now, we wanted to show Bunny Nose the school!" Jeff laughed and together they walked out of the house and towards the large building set in the middle of the boarding school's campus.

After showing Rachel all around the school and grounds they stepped back into the dorm and set to make some hot chocolate for themselves. It was still cold outside, it being February, so the hot beverage was very welcome with the three.

Rachel had sat down at the counter and watched Nick rummage through the cabinets, looking for the cocoa powder and soy milk in the fridge. When she saw the message she had written for Blaine earlier still laying on the counter, she pulled it over to her and saw there were other messages written on it now, though they were for her.

Don't ever leave again, RayRay! This was the BEST breakfast ever!-Jude

Why didn't you leave some for me, huh? Blaine's the only one to ever get special treatment…-Wes

^Stop moaning, you! Blaine deserves special treatment, he's our main singer after all!-Trent

The list went on, and Rachel read all of the comments and chuckled to herself. These boys were adorable! She could imagine being friends with all of them very easily.

When he heard the tinkle of her laughter, Nick turned to see what had Rachel in such a happy state. He saw the notes and had to laugh as well.

"These boys are too much! You really made an imprint on them, do you know that?" he asked and smiled at his new friend, then handed her a large mug of cocoa. Jeff, who had already taken a mug for himself, chuckled into the mug.

"Not only on them" he mumbled to himself, not loud enough for the other two to hear exactly what he had said.

While they enjoyed being warmed up by their drinks and also eating some cookies, they wandered into the sitting room to get more comfortable.

"Well, how many boys go to this school then? The school seems so much smaller than McKinley" Rachel asked and Nick nodded.

"Yeah, we aren't so many here, maybe about 200. Not even, really. Most of us live here as well, and that's about 120 students, the rest are from around and come here every day, like Kurt" he explained and saw Rachel's eyes widen.

"Not even 200 students? This must be heaven to go to school here, no people clogging the hallways, no fights over seats in the lunch hall… Heaven, really!" she exclaimed and smiled, imagining her going to a school with only so few students. Few students meant few bullies and stuck up cheerleaders mocking her.

"It's quite alright, you know pretty much anyone here and everyone is nice. We're quite the nice lot, if you see it like that. Sure, we get up to all kinds of stupid things. We once had the entire school partake in the circle game for two days. And once we played Gotcha! for three weeks, and the teachers didn't notice a thing, even though Jimmy shot Wes with his Nerf gun right in Calculus! So yeah, school here is pretty cool!" 'Nick explained and the three laughed at the thought of a whole boys' school playing Gotcha! right in front of the teachers without them noticing.

"Well, who won that game, then, huh?" Rachel asked when she had calmed down again. Jeff smiled at her and pumped his fists in the air.

"You sit right next to the champion! I slew them all!" he yelled and the other two erupted in laughter again.

"That's so not true, Jeff, and you know it. You may have won, but only because I took out three quarter of the students and you kept hidden away. I honestly thought you had been hit weeks earlier when there was only me and one other left. And then you shot me while I was about to fall asleep! You were a sneak and that's the only reason you won!" Nick exclaimed and gave his friend a shove so he almost fell off the couch, making him start laughing again.

"Okay, maybe I didn't slay them, but I still won!" he conceded and sat back up.

The three sat in comfortable silence for a little bit, before Nick stood up and looked at Rachel.

"Well, you said something about xbox last time on the phone. What about it? Wanna try?" he asked and when Rachel nodded, he got up and took Rachel's and the boys' mugs into the kitchen.

"Come on, lazy pants! I don't think I have to ask you twice if you want to play some xbox" Nick said to Jeff, but the blonde shook his head no.

"You know, I actually wanted to see what David was up to, maybe go to the choir hall with him. He said something about new dance moves he wanted to show me" he said and stood up to leave the other two to themselves. He found it to be appropriate to leave those two alone for some time. As much as he liked his Bunny Nose, he wanted to give Nick the chance to spend some time with her alone. Jeff might not be the brightest bulb when it came to the French language, but he could see that both Rachel and Nick held feelings for each other, even if they didn't see them on their own, yet.

"Okay, well, have fun, then" Nick yelled after him and then turned back to Rachel. "Seems like we'll be playing alone, then" he said and led her out of the living room and up the stairs to his room.

"Right, then, what do you want to play?" Nick asked when they arrived in his and Jeff's room. He pulled out a box of games and let Rachel rummage through them, until she found one she was happy with: Rayman Originals.

"Oh, that's a fun game! Come on, make yourself comfortable" Nick said as he took the game from Rachel's hands and set up the console. Rachel sat down in one of the bean bag chairs and took of her shoes to be able to tuck them under herself.

When the game started to play, Nick walked over to Rachel and handed her a controller, then sat down in the bean bag next to her. He explained the buttons to her and when Rachel had no questions anymore, he pressed play to start and they started to choose their characters to play with.

Slowly, the game began and they made their way through the colorful world that was this game. Every few moments Nick looked over to Rachel and saw her concentrated on the game, lifting and turning the controller with every motion her character in the game made. After the first level was over and they got the first score, Rachel groaned at how few points she had made. She let the controller fall into her lap and leaned back in her bean bag.

"Nicky, I'm absolutely useless at this game! Look at how poorly I played! You can't enjoy this! I know I am not enjoying seeing myself losing so badly!" she moaned and looked over to Nick, who was grinning widely at her little fit.

"Aw, come on, you're not that bad and I'd enjoy playing this even if you didn't make any points at all. Should I show you the different moves again?" he asked and Rachel nodded, pouting a little, making her look even cuter than she already was, Nick thought. Oh, who was he kidding, he fancied her alright! He turned and pulled one of his throw pillows from his bed and put it on the floor in front of him between his legs. "Come on then" he said and patted the pillow, motioning for Rachel to sit down there. The girl moved over and sat down in between Nick's legs, leaning into him a little, to get comfortable on the floor.

One after the other, Nick explained every action to Rachel again and then they replayed the first level, slowly, so the girl could test out what she had learned, beginning to get better at the game. When she deemed it safe to continue with the next level, Nick pressed play again and their adventure continued.

Unconsciously Rachel leaned further back, using Nick as a back rest and the boy smiled to himself. He really enjoyed his time with Rachel, she really was everything he wanted in a girl, smart, funny, kind, a little crazy, and overly adorable in every way or kind.

The two of them kept sitting like that, snuggled pretty close for 'just friends' and everyone, who walked past the open bedroom door, had to smile at the picture they made, Rachel concentrated on the game, still moving her controller around whenever her character jumped somewhere and Nick smiling at how into the game Rachel was. After every achievement and finished level, Rachel let out a squeal and turned to grin at Nick widely.

"This is so much fun, Nicky! We definitely have to repeat this sometime soon!" she said laughing and Nick nodded, agreeing with her. This really was fun.

They didn't notice Jeff and Trent standing in the doorway, watching the two, who so obviously were meant for each other, and smiling at the sight they made. Without much thinking, Jeff got out his phone and snapped a picture of the two, concentrated on the game, or rather, Rachel being concentrated on the game and Nick watching her. It was really sweet, actually. When he showed the picture to Trent, the other boy smiled and motioned for Jeff to send it to him. While doing so, the blonde boy sent the picture to all the other boys who knew Rachel as well. And then he logged onto facebook with his phone and posted it on his timeline, linking both participants of the game. This sight was worth for everyone to see. To be honest, Jeff hadn't ever seen Nick look so happy. Sure, he had had a girlfriend or two, but no one had ever been so compatible with him than Rachel was now. It would be a shame if they would never notice how nice they looked together and how pretty much perfect they were for each other.

When the day came to an end and they had stopped playing their game, Rachel leaned even further back into Nick and closed her eyes.

"You know, this was really fun. I have actually never had so much fun with a friend. Sure, Kurt and I hang out, but it's never really like this, because Kurt has a tendency to nag at me for things I wear or do or something. This is nice. No worries, just fun and peace" she explained and Nick smiled down at her.

"I really liked this, too. We should definitely repeat this. And I don't understand, how Kurt could whine at you for things you do. I'm sure there are things Kurt does that annoy you too, and I doubt you have a go at him for that" he said and Rachel opened her eyes to look at him and smiled.

"You are awesome, Nicky, do you know that? We know each other for how long? Five days? And already you are, like, the best friend I have ever had" she admitted, blushing slightly at the admission.

"You are pretty great too, you know? And I really don't care how long we know each other, as long as we get along like this, it's all fine being such good friends after such a short time. But come on, you need to get home. Your dads are going to worry or think we have kidnapped you" he said and grinned. He actually didn't want Rachel to leave, but begging her to stay really would look a little weird. And she had said they were friends, and that's probably what they were going to stay, just friends. Surprisingly, Nick was okay with that. As long as Rachel was around, he would be content with them just being friends. It wasn't ideal, but at least it was something.

Rachel got up and held out a hand for Nick to take. She pulled him up and he stumbled into her, making Rachel giggle and the boy blush at his move.

"Okay, if you really want me to leave, then I guess I have to say good bye to the others. Leaving just like that would be rude" she said and walked out of the door, pouting a little.

"Rachel, I don't- I- you know I loved you being here, but you can't- I mean your dads-" Nick stumbled over the words, trying to appease Rachel, who seemed to be upset about having to leave. Rachel turned to the boy walking behind her to look at him with an empty expression. Then, slowly, her face brightened up and she began to laugh loudly.

"Oh, Nicky, I know how you meant it! I really should go home, my parents always make a huge dinner on Sundays and I can't miss out on that! Really, you should know about my theatrics! I'm a born actress and this situation was perfect for me to practice. I'm sorry" she said and opened her arms to embrace the dark haired boy. "I wasn't upset in the slightest. I think this is a thing you have to accustom yourself to when you are around me." Nick blushed slightly and shook his head.

"Well, you really are a great actress, then. I honestly thought you were upset" he admitted and laughed embarrassed. Rachel smiled at him brightly.

"Believe me, I was not upset in the slightest! I had such a nice day today, nothing could ruin my mood!"

Together the two made a round through all of the rooms where boys lived who Rachel knew and then they went downstairs to fetch Rachel's baskets and her coat. Nick helped her carry all her things to the car and loaded them into the trunk of her car.

"Well, I really can say that this day was really cool. We should repeat this next weekend or do something different together" she said and Nick smiled.

"Definitely! Jeff's sisters Julie and Janie will be coming next weekend, maybe we could go out as a group or something. With my sister, too and maybe some of the boys. And maybe you can get some of your friends from your choir to come with us, too" Nick suggested and Rachel smiled widely, a thing she seemed to be doing a lot around the boy.

"That sounds great! But I really have to leave now, or my dads will really worry about where I am!" she said and opened her arms for Nick to hug her.

"Again, I really had fun today!" she said for the thousandth time that day when she released Nick again. Rachel opened her car's door and sat down behind the steering wheel.

"Have fun tomorrow at school!" Nick said when he closed the door for her. Rachel rolled down the window and rolled her eyes.

"Don't remind me. Finn will probably have a go at me, because I told Kurt what he said about you guys! But you have fun, okay? For me, too" she said and started the engine.

"I will!" Nick said and stepped away from the car, waving good bye to her when the car backed out.

When Nick walked back inside, he was met with a horde of brightly grinning boys, his friends.

"So, did you have fun today? Are you a couple now? You sure look cute together" Jimmy asked as soon as he had climbed the staircase up.

"What are you talking about? You didn't spend any time with us, how would you know how we looked?" Nick asked, curious about what the tall boy meant with what he was saying. The Warbler only smiled.

"Oh, you don't know about it? Well, check facebook!" he vaguely suggested and then left to his room, Jude following behind chuckling. Nick turned to his other friends, Jeff in particular.

"What is he talking about?" he inquired and Jeff smiled at him, obviously guilty about something.

"Well, maybe you should really just check on facebook. It's nothing totally bad, I promise" he admitted and Nick walked past the blonde and his other friends into his room, right over to his desk and started his browser, logging into facebook.

And there it was, the picture Jeff had taken of Rachel and him playing xbox, Rachel leaning into the boy sitting behind her, and Nick looking down at her, slightly grinning, obviously very content with the situation. Under the picture were at least a dozen comments, all ranging from 'how cute' to 'so , are they a couple, or what?'. One comment, though, was jumping into Nick's eye, because it was all but friendly.

What's that supposed to mean, Rachel? You have a new boyfriend now? If I remember correctly, you were pining after me only a few days ago and now you have already moved on to the next boy? I wouldn't have thought that of you, I guess, you are different from what I thought you were. And the enemy! Why didn't you take someone from our team, why did it have to be someone from them? Aren't we good enough now, or what? Do you like it better spending time with the enemy than your own team? I'm disappointed in you!

Nick didn't even have to look at the writer's name to know the comment had been from Finn. That guy was driving him insane with all the crap he was saying about Rachel. She had done nothing wrong. Just when Nick was about to write a reply at him, someone else beat him to it and a new comment appeared.

Finn, you shouldn't open your mouth too far, you are being a hypocrite right now. I don't want to remind you about the incident that let to you and Rachel breaking up. Really, stop harassing her, she's my friend, and so is Nick. And no, they are not a couple, they are just friends. Don't you understand the concept of a male-female-friendship? I guess not. And the ENEMY? Again? I just talked to you about that! You saying the Warblers are the enemy is pretty much saying I, your brother, am your enemy. Grow up, Finn, don't be such a child. And don't talk to me at dinner, I might just have to bitch-slap you.

Holy moly! Kurt had really outdone himself with that reply. Nick smiled slightly, rereading the post from his fellow Warbler. He really liked that Kurt was standing up for Rachel and defending her. From what she had told them, Rachel didn't really have a support system at her school. Well, looks like she would have to get it from somewhere else, then, namely, them, the Warblers.

Nick turned around in his chair to see Jeff and Blaine standing in the door way, Jeff looking down at the floor.

"I'm sorry for posting it. It was just so cute in that moment, I just couldn't not post it! Are you mad at me?" he asked quietly, and Nick had to smile at his friend's antics. Sometimes he still behaved like a little boy.

"No, I'm not mad at you, I'm just worried what will happen at McKinley tomorrow. Finn didn't seem to be too thrilled to see that picture. He just wrote really awful things to Rachel, but Kurt defended her. I wouldn't want to be Finn right now!" Nick said and Blaine grinned.

"Yeah, you don't want to be on the bad end of Kurt's temper. But don't worry, Rachel is tough, she will be fine. But come on, now, Audrey is preparing dinner and I'm positive there are still leftovers from breakfast. That was really good by the way. I have to remember to thank Rachel for saving up something for me. I could get used to her being here more often and cooking for us!" he said and the others laughed. Together they rushed out and down the stairs, to secure themselves the last blueberry muffins.
