Hey guys!
Just a short late night update, couldn't sleep so I decided to do a bit of writing (blame any mistakes on my half-asleep brain!)

Helena couldn't begin to hide her disgust at the way the inquisitors manhandled the girl into the back of their blacked out van.
Sharp words from Kyla did nothing to stop their growls and unnecessary shoving.
Jay, for her part, went without a fight. Head low and eyes numb with shock she allowed herself to be hauled off like an animal.
That was what made things all the worse for the Warehouse team. If Jay had fought, showed malice, anything other than horror and resignation then maybe they wouldn't have the stomach twisting feeling that what was happening was just wrong.
Taking a step away, the vampire growled into the cold air. A heavy sigh came from her right, and a packet of cigarettes was offered.
Glancing to Kyla, she pulled one from the pack, "This isn't right."
"I know." Flicking open her lighter, she offered Helena the flame before lighting her own cigarette. "It's shit. But she's all but confessed and she has no alibi." Shaking her head with a growl, Kyla added, "I still think there is something we are missing about this case. She'll be held till tomorrow at the Chester HQ before she's brought before the council." Hissing, smoke threaded between her clenched white teeth, "She's been assigned a Beta to vouch for her; but I doubt it will help her."
Frowning, Helena stubbed out the end of her cigarette and asked, "Since when do Half-breeds get representation."
"Since an Alpha Filtairn and a Chief Inquisitor has filed an official caution for the case."
Raising an eyebrow, Helena nodded in approval, "My, my, haven't you gone up in the world. You've been promoted."
Nodding, the inquisitor's amber eyes were less than enthusiastic, "The former was one I never asked for."
"Council based power is not an enviable position; I know that well."
"Mmm." Kyla rolled her eyes, "You however were smart enough to get the hell out of there."
The vampire winced, "I did an awful lot of damage before I 'got the hell out' Kyla."
"I'm a werewolf Helena." Her voice was sober, with a hint of bitterness, "You don't need to tell me that." Shaking herself out of the past, she added, "Tell your partner, if she ever needs anything; give me a call."
"Myka? Why would you…"
A sharp look cut the brunette off, "I'm an alpha Helena, if you think I don't know a Fenrir when I see one then you have horrifically underestimated me."

Bundled up in old blankets and newspapers, Claudia and Steve sat shivering in the park; huddled together against the chill.
They'd been there for two days and had seen nothing. (Well, unless you counted that dog running smack into a tree while chasing a squirrel, cause that was damned funny and… ahem… well, on with it!)
Teeth chattering, her partner stuttered, "How about making us a little warmer?"
Nodding, Claudia rubbed her numb hands together creating a ball of heat energy.
Both jumped in fright when a few coins hit their blanket. Looking up, Claudia caught sight of a tall older man walking away from them; straight to the spot they'd been staking out.
Elbowing Steve, she nodded towards where the man took a seat on a park bench.
"Hey look. Do you think…?" She asked hopefully, cutting herself off, as if to utter her optimism would stop it from coming true.
Steve nodded, "Here's hoping Claud." Leaning forward, his clear blue eyes focussed through the misty morning air.
The man reached into his pocket and removed a pocket watch, carefully polishing it with a handkerchief it wasn't long before a young man who had been jogging wandered over to the bench; seemingly in a daze.
As the dazed man paused in front him, the greying man plucked a baseball out of his pocket before tossing it.
Claudia launched to her feet when, in a flash of blue light, the jogger disappeared.
Snatching the ball, and something beside it from the floor the man began to walk away.
"Hey!" Pulling her tesla, the young agent threw herself into a sprint.
Scrambling up behind her, Steve quickly caught up, "Stop! Secret Service!"
Glancing over his shoulder, the man took off at a surprising pace, hopping a bench with an unusual ease he tore across the park; his grey coat whipping out behind him.
Grabbing the baseball out of his pocket, he caught sight of Steve gaining on him. With a sneer, he called in a British accent, "Here, catch!" Before hurling the ball at the agent.
Plucking it out of the air out of reflex, Steve gave a yelp, before vanishing in a blue flash of light.
Skidding to a halt, Claudia cried, "Steve! NO!" Dropping onto her knees beside the baseball, she tried to find some kind of marking or identification on it; but she could see nothing.
That was until she spotted something beside the ball that made her jaw drop, "No freaking way…"

Helena snarled at her phone as it began to blare on her nightstand. Snatching it up she hissed, "It's 3am, this better be good."
Kyla's voice was tight with stress and barely restrained anger, "We've got the wrong person, it can't be Jay."
"What?" Still groggy, the vampire shook her head to clear it, "How do you know?"
"Because, I've had her under surveillance for the past eighteen hours; and my team have found another body."
Sitting bolt upright, Helena found herself wide awake, "Are you sure it's the same killer?"
"The scent is the same, as is the style of killing." Kyla paused a moment, and took a deep breath.
"Kyla? What aren't you telling me?"
"The body wasn't human."
It felt like a bucket of ice had been tipped over her head, "What?"
She could almost see the wince on Kyla's face, "The body we found; it was May Feyson."

I'm just going to leave this here for the moment.
Though I shall endeavour to update soon! I'd love to hear what you think about the story so far!
Till the next one! xxx
