Harry walked into his dorm room and tossed his books on the table. Pulling his glasses off, he placed them on the desk and opened his mufti-compartmented trunk. Pulling the family grimoire out, he leaned back in his chair, as Neville sat on his bed.

"Harry, I have a question for you," Neville asked.

Opening the book Harry replied, "What is it, Nev?"

"Why do you still wear the glasses? I thought you told me you'd had your eyes fixed."

"I did, but everyone expects me to wear them, because of all those books and pictures that somehow were leaked of me while I was growing up. These are just plain glass with some extra charms on them," Harry said as he laid the open book down.

"But why?"

"Well, one reason is to keep the old man unaware that I've had healing. Plus I can see the headmaster when he's invisible. You know he follows me around?"

"He does? Why?" Neville asked.

"I don't know. Want to play a game?" Harry asked.

"Nah, I better catch up on my Herbology report that Professor Sprout wants done by Friday," Neville said as he pulled out his Herbology book and a sheet of parchment.

"Ok, well, I'm going to read since I've got all my work done," Harry replied as he opened the grimoire to the bookmark.

July 20th 1863

We're five days out from Charleston, South Carolina. We avoided the American patrols with the help of our magic. Fredrick used his special power over the elements, and raised a huge fogbank that allowed us to slip by the three Union frigates. I'm glad to be leaving this blood soaked land. To many of my friends' children have died in this foolish war, and more will die by the time it's over. Both sides believe so deeply in their reasons, that I see hate ripping this country apart for years after the war will be finally over.

August 4th 1863

We're home in jolly old England. We have arrived at Potter Manor, and Richard is waiting to be buried next to the rest of the Potters who have been brought home. Fredrick's parents, Andrew and Annette are trying to get me to talk with them, but I refused; just as I am refusing to wear anything but black, from this day forward. My son Andrew is home in our arms and even though he is a squib, he will never be forsaken again. Laura and James are ecstatic that their baby brother is back home and have been making him more than welcome. I saw my father the other day and my baby sister Daphne. She is the spitting image of mother. She is a fourth year Ravenclaw and is smart as a whip. She is expected to be next year's prefect and I hope she is.

I met an obnoxious jerk yesterday. His name is Maximilian Malfoy and he should have been drowned at birth. He had the gall to try and broker a marriage contract between his son and Laura. He and all his family should go back to France where those of bad faith belong.

There is a stirring in the mining consolidations about several new mines found in South Africa. Richard is checking them out and if so, we're planning on investing several million galleons in the venture.

New spell,

Intone: 'Intorqueo finxi'. Then with a spiral twist of your wand, and a slight swish upward, an orange spell will fly from your wand. If you hit your target, the target's fingers will start twisting into spirals, making it hard for them to obtain their wand, knife or gun. A simple 'finité' will cancel the spell.

"Harry, it's time for dinner. We should head down to the hall. The girls will be wondering where we're at," Neville said from his desk.

Harry looked at the windup clock on his bed table and nodded as he closed the grimoire. Putting the book in his trunk, he stood and stretched as his belly rumbled.

With a smirk he replied, "Guess my stomach agrees with you."

Neville laughed as they walked out of their dorm room and descended down to the common room where they stopped. Placed against one wall was a huge table that seemed to be groaning under the weight of plates, silverware, food and drinks. Around the room, some of the Hufflepuffs were sitting and eating dinner as they talked.

"I guess we have to eat in the common room," Neville said as he started walking to the table to check the food out.

"Get some food and pull up a chair," Cedric ordered as he handed a plate to Neville and Harry.

"Thanks Cedric," Harry replied as he started loading his plate down with chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, and several rolls.

Neville went for Chinese food and started piling sweet and sour chicken on his plate along with egg rolls and fried rice. As soon as his plate was full he filled a glass with milk, and then sat down next to Susan and Harry.

"Where's Hannah?" he asked.

Susan wiped her mouth and replied, "In the bathroom. She'll be right back. Harry did you finish your charms essay?"

"Yes I did, Susan," Harry said between bites of chicken.

"Good," Susan replied with a smile and cut a piece of her steak off and bit into it.

"I wonder why we're eating here and not the great hall," Harry asked as he started tearing into his chicken.

"Cedric thinks it's because Dumbledork doesn't want us talking to the other houses, and is trying to figure out who sent the information to my aunt and the Queens office," Susan replied.

Harry smirked as he took a bite of his mashed potatoes, and then replied, "Ahhh, poor baby. His Death Eater was arrested, and now he's throwing a hissy fit."

"He should have done something about Snape years ago. He's a menace to the magical society. From what I heard, he has crippled the Auror and healer forces. If You-Know-Who was to ever come back, Susan's aunt would be hard pressed to stop him and his followers," Neville said as he wiped his mouth.

"Shhh, we don't want people to know Amelia is looking for those items and I agree with you on the Aurors. From what Auntie says, he is a menace to the Wizard World. Hi, Hannah," Susan said as her best friend sat down with her plate.

"What are we talking about?" Hannah asked.

"Snape is what we're talking about. Now we're talking about food," Harry replied with a grin as he looked at Hannah's plate and asked, "What are you eating?"

"It's a dish from Greece called Moussaka. It's a traditional Greek dish made with eggplant slices sautéed in olive oil. The middle layer is chopped lamb mixed with onions, garlic, tomatoes, herbs and spices. The top layer is a white sauce in this case an egg custard. Each is cooked individually and then layered in a butter pan, and baked until the top turns brown. Want to try some?" Hannah asked.

"Sure," Harry replied as Hannah held out a forkful. Taking a bite he chewed and swallowed, "That is good. I'll have to get some."

"Housekeeping!" Hannah said and a house elf appeared next to Hannah.

"Young mistress called?"

"Yes, I did. Could you bring us a pan of Moussaka to share, and some cheese bread to go with it," Hannah asked.

"I'll bring it right to you," the elf replied.

He vanished with a small pop. With another pop, the elf was back, with a large platter with sliced shares of Moussaka on it. He set it down along with a spatula.

"Here you go miss, enjoy," he said, and with another pop was gone.

The four kids dug into the food. Several other students tried it and also liked it. Cedric took several pieces and walked away eating them as fast as he could shovel the food into his mouth.

Harry wiped his lips after finishing the last of his food. Taking a sip of his milk, he asked, "So… are we studying, tonight?"

"We should, you never know what the professors will teach us or test us on," Susan replied.

"Ok, let's get our books and meet back here in a few minutes," Neville said as he stood up.

Five minutes later, all four were sitting around one of the tables, finishing up their Herbology homework for their head of house.

"Neville, Devil Snare has a blue flower right?" Harry asked as he wrote out his essay.

"No, red. Commelina, which is grown in the North America, has the blue flower and is used in mild healing potions," Neville replied as he finished his essay, "There that's finished."

"Me, too," Harry replied as he set the scroll to the side, and picked up his defense against the dark arts.

"Now for DADA," Harry stated as he started researching the Knockback Jinx for his essay.

"Uggg! I hate the DADA teacher. He's so hard to understand," Susan said as she put her Herbology essay to the side.

Susan was reaching for her next book when the door to the common room flew open and slammed into the wall.

The four preteens jumped as the door hit the wall and Albus Dumbledore stormed into the room. He was looking around the room and his eyes settled onto his target.

"Harry, I want to talk to you, now!" he snapped out as he strolled over to the four kids.

"What may I do for you, Sir?" Harry asked as he went back to writing his essay out.

Susan, Hannah, and Neville all looked down at their papers so they wouldn't make eye contact with the man.

"What lies have you been spreading about Professor Snape? Why did you send them to the DMLE?"

"No lies at all, just the truth. Truth you wouldn't see," Harry stated and he could see Neville out of the corner of his eye nodding his head.

"Harry, look at me while I'm speaking with you," Dumbledore demanded.

"No, Sir. I don't want you rummaging through my mind, like you do to everyone else," Harry replied and then added, "Now, if there is nothing else. I really need to finish this assignment."

"Yes, go get your belongings. You have been resorted into Gryffindor, like your parents," Albus said.

Harry's head jerked up in surprise and he felt Dumbledore start to probe his mind. Snapping his eyes back down he replied, "No I won't. I am a Puff, not a fool of a lion. I was sorted here. I haven't been resorted just because you said I was."

"Headmaster, Mister Potter is correct. You cannot just move him to another house without him being sorted by the Hat, and I know he hasn't been to your office. So please stop trying to control the boy," Professor Sprout demanded from the doorway, and then added, "Now when can my students attend their classes and HAVE YOU found any sign of my two missing Puffs?"

"I'm Harry's magical guardian, and I have resorted him. He will be moving, and withdrawing his complaints on Professor Snape so he can come back and teach," Albus stated.

"That's it! I've had enough! Neville, Susan, Hannah, it's been great knowing you all. Please let everyone else know I'll miss them," Harry stated as he stood up and started walking towards the stairs.

"Mister Potter, what did you mean by that?" Professor Sprout asked.

Harry stopped and looked at his head of house and replied, "The easy answer is, I'm leaving and going home. I had enough abuse where I grew up. I hoped it would be different here, but I was wrong. Between immature teachers, and stupid students, I've had enough."

"You will not be leaving. You will move to the Gryffindor dorms, and attend classes…"

"Listen here, 'Dumb as a door'! This is a school, NOT A PRISON. I'm leaving, and you cannot stop me," Harry snapped in anger.

"You will stay and do as you're told!"

Harry pulled out his wand, and snapped it in half.

Tossing it on the floor, he replied, "How can I attend classes without my wand?"

Harry stomped up the stairs as Dumbledore stood there, speechless, in shock.
