Chapter Nine

-Dean Winchester-

He took his gamble, threw all cards out on the table, and asked them for help. Dean never thought he'd never ask a vampire for help, let alone a full coven of them. Yet, here he was not only asking them for their assistance, but blessing on him being with Alice. It was risky, very. Some may even thought it was plain reckless, but to Dean, it was life. He was used to doing the oddest things, gambling, and performing reckless acts. He grew up with them practically. No one gave an answer to Dean it wasn't a good sign. He swallowed and ran a hand along the back of his neck. "These vamps are big in numbers. We all want to have them stop killing humans. Alice said that Carlisle is hoping he could convince them to go into your diet, and that's fine by me, as long as they stop. Please, just help my brother and me with this. You don't have to accept me, I get it, I'm a hunter and she's a vampire. Its taboo and it's unheard of…but it's not impossible." His throat was going dry to what he felt was to deaf ears. He sighed and looked down to Alice for some reassurance. Just looking down at her and seeing her look up at him was more than enough reassurance. God, he loved this woman. Vampire. Whatever.

She smiled small as if hearing his thoughts and squeezed his hand tighter, "I love you too," she whispered, but didn't really see why when her family could easily hear them, Edward especially. Alice turned to face her family, "Regardless, I'm helping them. When everything is done and over with…I'm going with Sam and Dean. I can't bear being away from him and I know he can't leave this line of work." Jasper placed a hand on Alice's shoulder, "And I am offering my assistance as well." He added in and Dean's eyes widened. Man, he really wanted to hate Jasper! "Dude, I really wanna hate you but you're making it totally impossible being that way!" Jasper smiled to Dean, "I would apologize, yet I'm not." Dean smirked. "Good."

Alice beamed at seeing how well Dean and Jasper got along. It literally made her squeal on the inside, but she was bouncing literally on the outside. "What can we do to help?" Carlisle's calm voice entered the atmosphere and claimed all pairs of eyes: two pairs of topaz, one pair of peridot greens, and one pair of ocean seas. Dean was speechless at first. Was that a yes?

"You're not that bright, are you?" Edward soon said with a mere smirk as it enjoying a hidden joke. Dean glared, "Sorry, I haven't gone to school for centuries to gain a higher IQ." He said sarcastically and Edward chuckled, "Right, I can tell, believe me." Dean scowled and Edward smirked rottenly, "Get used to it…brother." Oh, shit. He looked like he was about to crap himself! "I'm accepted?! Seriously?" Damn, he should give motivational speeches more often! Edward scrunched his face at that thought, "Don't, but it was convincing enough for me. Just know the moment you hurt Alice, I'm ripping your throat out with my teeth." Dean gulped and cupped his neck without thinking, "Uh…noted." Rosalie still seemed put off on this whole matter, but she kept her thoughts to herself. Carlisle shifted his gaze to Edward, "Don't scare him off, Edward."

"It's cool," Dean soon said with a grin, "I've seen some scary shit, Edward's nothing." The bronze-haired Cullen turned to Dean with a daring expression almost as if he was taking Dean on that offer. Dean cleared his throat and looked to Sam, "My plan's simple: Sammy and I will draw them in and then your guys bombard out of the woodworks in a sneak attack. If you still want to try and influence them—"

"They're too far gone to even listen at this point," Edward interjected much to Carlisle's dismay. Dean swallowed and nodded his head, "Alright, uh…then when you guys come up from the sneak attack we'll gank the sons of bitches and wish they hadn't grown fangs," he grinned. Sam didn't like this plan. Hell, Alice didn't like this plan. She looked ghostly pale as she stared up at Dean. "Dean, they're fast! They'll catch you and Sam!" Dean looked down at her, "We've dealt with vamps before Al. Sammy and I are in shape, we'll be able to beat the clock." She pouted, but Carlisle spoke up, "Alice, Dean's plan is the best we have right now."

She looked to Carlisle baffled. "You're agreeing to this plan?!"

"Alice, they will be okay."

"Carlisle, Dean can't! Sam can't!"

Sam then entered the conversation and looked over to Alice, "Alice, we'll be fine, really." She still refused to listen and clutched onto Dean like he were dying. His eyes glassed over with remorse as he looked down at his reason for living. Dean placed a hand on her back, "Hey now, I'll be fine. You think I'm gonna leave when I just got you back?" He grinned rottenly and lift her chin up with a hand, "Hell no Al! I just did the most suicidal thing ever right now!" She didn't find that funny. "Dean—"

"Look, I'll be fine. You gotta admit: Coming here was more risky than my plan. One of them could have ripped my throat out and called it good and had a fiesta over my body."

Alice scold, "That's not funny." Dean laughed, "No it's not, but hey, I'm still standing!" Alice sighed and looked to Sam who was smiling down at her. Sam, how she just loves him, she didn't want to lose either of them. They were her family. She gulped and found herself reluctantly nodding…oh, God, what was she agreeing to…?

-Alice Cullen-

For someone that couldn't hear her own heart beat any longer, she felt it was thudding rapidly against her ribcage. Jasper tried calming her nerves by force, but eventually stopped when she hissed for him to not do it. He did as requested and Alice was from then on at the highest peak of nerves. She remained hidden in the shrubbery with Jasper while the rest hid elsewhere in the thick woods. She was hoping her prediction on them coming to Forks tonight would be wrong, but she knew it wasn't. Suddenly, she smelled Dean's intoxicating blood and held her breath. She saw Jasper tense up at the scent and was worried, but Jasper remained where he was and chose to sink his nails into the soil. She gave a mild whimper and darted her eyes back to the Winchesters. Dean handed off a blade to Sam and she watched Sam jerk his sleeve up to expose the tawny flesh. Suddenly, red crimson spooled out from a fresh, open wound. These guys were being completely suicidal.

Dean placed his fingers along the wound and began painting the old barks on the ancient trees still standing tall and Sam did the same. She felt queasy. Alice instantly jumped at a simple rustle of leaves echoing within her ears. Jasper placed a hand on Alice's shoulder securely as if to tell her not yet. She wanted to leap and protect Dean and Sam, but Jasper's grip on her was preventing her from doing so. Her ears perked up when the rustles became more eager. This time, Dean heard and already had his machete by the hilt. He looked around the area, not leaving anything left unseen. So this was the hunter side of Dean. A creature that had all senses heightened a weapon in a clutching fist. He looked like a soldier in a war, but even Alice couldn't help but to be in awe. It seemed impossible this stolid expression man was the same one that was so loving and gentle. A child in lots of ways with how he smiled or would speak. None of that was in sight. Only this fresh man that was skilled beyond his years. She admired this man.

His brows were tightly pushed together in furrow while he remained clenched-jawed. Sam held same aspects, only his seemed less of a soldier and more of a Watson. One to have the leader's back, but still didn't seem to change much in persona. Of course, this was Alice's first intake. She was sure Sam was just as much a potential bad ass.

Her in-thoughts were canceled out when a figure sprang out from the opposite side of the Cullen family's hideouts. Alice couldn't help it. She sprang out from the shrubbery. "Dean!" She cried out, but the Winchester spun at his heels and sliced the neck of the vampire like nothing in one given thrust. She froze in place. "Alice, get back!" He barked. Alice couldn't…move. He killed that creature like nothing! She saw his expression change from cold to her Dean. "Alice, watch out!" He called out, but was already chasing at her. She looked over her shoulder to see a vampire already in mid-air at her. She gasped, but Jasper leaped in and tackled the creature to the ground before ripping its head off. She flinched when she felt something grab her, but calmed down instantly when she heard Dean's voice. She turned to face him and he looked worried as he cupped her face, "You're okay, right?" She swallowed but nodded her head. "Look, whatever you see me do tonight, just know that it'll never happen to you, okay?" That was unsettling. Why now was him being a hunter unsettling?! She knew what he was and she accepted it, right? Now, she was having her doubts. What if she was wrong on her vision? What if—

"ALICE!" Dean shook her, "Snap back into reality! You have your head in the game! I need—!"

A vampire tackled Dean to the ground and Alice instantly freaking out. "Dean!" She cried out and went to assist, but a few teamed up on her. Battling her way through the struggle, she managed to get away, but not in time to save Dean. He was battling the vampire off him while he remained pinned to the ground. The machete out of his reach. Sam was too busy being back-to-back with Rosalie to even take notice. Her eyes widened when she heard a sick snap. Dean's screams broke through and she saw Sam stare in horror. "Dean!" He called out and instantly rushed while Rosalie covered Sam. Alice ran to Dean when she finally found her footing, but she could only manage a scream of a no before her teeth sank into Dean's broken arm.

Her vision…
