Prue's P.O.V.
"Hey Prue, wait up!" I stopped walking and waited for Chelsea to catch up to me.
"What is it?" I asked and she nervously played with her hands.
"Can I get a ride?" she blurted and I frowned.
"What do I look like, a taxi?" She gave me a pleading look and I finally gave in. "You're lucky I like you," I told her and she smiled.
"Thank you," she replied and suddenly stopped.
"Hey, isn't that the new guy?" she asked and I followed her glance. David met my eyes and smiled as he walked towards us.
"What are you doing here?" I asked and he shrugged.
"Nothing, I'm just waiting for my ride," he replied. I started to ask him a question when he beat me to it. "I didn't know you were a cheerleader," he commented and I was about to ask him how he knew that when I looked down at my outfit.
"Yeah, I've been a cheerleader since freshman year," I told him and he smiled. Just then Chelsea coughed loudly and I jumped. "This is my friend Chelsea. Chelsea, this is-"
"David, yeah I know," she interrupted me as she eyed me. "I'll just wait in the car." I played with my hands as she walked out of sight.
"Are you doing anything tomorrow?" David asked. I opened my mouth and started to say yes but nothing came out.
What the hell was wrong with me?
"I'm free tomorrow," I said and he smiled.
"Tomorrow then." I tried to come up with something clever to say but came up with nothing.
"Okay then, bye." I bit my lip as I walked away from him. What was wrong with me?
"So," Chelsea said as I slid into the driver's seat.
"So what?" I asked innocently.
"So, how did it go?"
"Good... I guess, I mean it was just a conversation."
"Did it get you anywhere?"
"I'm hanging with him tomorrow after school."
"You do realize we have practice after school, right?"
Crap.
"Prue!"
"I know, I know I totally forgot! Do you think that you can cover for me?"
"You're the team captain, not me."
"What am I supposed to tell him?"
"How about, I'm busy tomorrow?" I narrowed my eyes at her and she sighed.
"Fine, I'll do it," she said in defeat and I flashed a smile. "But you totally owe me."
"Noted," I replied as we pulled up to her house. She gave me a quick hug before running up the steps and slamming the door behind her.
As soon as I reached home, I collapsed on my bed; not bothering to look at the hours of homework that would guarantee me staying up all night. I frowned at my backpack and let out a moan as I buried my face in my pillow.
"What's wrong with you?" Piper asked with a small chuckle as she leaned against the doorway.
"Everything," I moaned then sat up. "Piper, you love me right?"
"Sure," she replied, eyeing me curiously.
"Can you do my homework?"
"Ha!" Piper burst out laughing and I smirked before lying back down.
"At least I tried," I said and Piper rolled her eyes in return.
"It can't be that bad," she said.
"Yeah, says the genius of the family."
"True, compared to me, you're just dumb."
"Hey!"
"I know, the truth hurts right?" I threw a pillow at her in response and she let out another laugh before leaving the room.
"Okay, time to get cracking," I told myself and took out my geometry book.
Patricia's P.O.V.
"Do you mind helping me set the table?" I asked Piper as she sat on the couch. She didn't respond as her eyes were glued to the book in front of her.
"Piper? Hello?" I walked behind her and clapped in her face. "Piper!" She jumped up with a little yelp.
"What?" she asked irritably as she put a hand over her heart.
"Help me set the table," I said as I pulled her to her feet.
"Why didn't you just ask Phoebe?" she complained.
"Because Phoebe's washing the dishes," I replied with a devious smile.
"Says who?" My baby sister asked as she walked into the room.
"Says me," I replied and she frowned.
"You know the deal, if we set the table, you clean up."
"I didn't sign up for this!"
"Sucks for you! I don't even know why you're complaining, we have a dishwasher."
"Because it doesn't work," Piper informed me.
"You knew that!" Phoebe accused, her eyes narrowing in annoyance.
"No I didn't!" I started but stopped myself. "Okay, fine I did know."
"Not cool," she huffed as before walking off.
Piper rolled her eyes before taking out the plates.
"Hey, where's Grams? I haven't seen her all night."
"She had to go to Chinatown for something," she replied with a shrug. As we set the table, my eyes flickered to the TV screen.
"What's that?" I wondered before walking into the living room.
"You're supposed to be helping out," Piper reminded me.
"Yeah I know," I waved her off and turned up the volume.
"Police are still stunned at the murder of 16 year old Tracy Gordan. The young girl was reported missing two days ago and this morning she was discovered by a jogger. Police have no suspects at the time and urges that if anyone knows anything to contact the Shorefield and San Francisco police immediately."
"She was from Shorefield?" Piper mumbled and I jumped in surprise.
"Yeah, looks like it," I replied.
"Imagine just jogging in the woods and finding a dead body," Piper whispered and I shivered.
"I don't even want to think about it," I turned off the TV.
"Come on, let's go set the table," she said and we went back to the kitchen.
