Chapter 10. Kyokotsu Attacks!

Joaquin started to growl, he sensed the approach of an evil entity.

"What is it Joaquin?" Gordo asked.

"I sense it too Gordo," Miroku said, "A malevolent aura is coming, but it is neither demon or human."

"No kidding," Inuyasha added, "It reeks of corpses and dirt from graveyards."

"I sense a Sacred Jewel shard within the aura." Kagome said.

"Then it must be one of the seven mercenaries that have come to kill us." Wardaddy affirmed.

The old war dog was right, Kyokotsu, the Band of Seven's gluttonous brute came to village to collect the bounty, and to feast.

"Tremble in fear, for you all are now the prey of the mighty Kyokotsu!"

"Women and children, go to the temple. We must make our stand now!" Kaede shouted as the warriors rallied to her.

"No need to trouble yourself Kaede, we'll handle this big ugly son of a bitch." Wardaddy assured her.

"Are ye certain you can defeat him?"

"Trust me, we have a plan." Wardaddy and his fellow tankers came out to face the gruesome glutton. "So, you're Kyokotsu, tell me, where is Naraku?"

"Ha ha, I may work for him but I never met him in person, only a kid with a chain scythe who's under his protection."

"Kohaku…" Sango sadly muttered to herself.

"And you must be Wardaddy, and you've brought out your boys to play. That's too bad, BECAUSE YOU'VE JUST MADE THIS HUNT A WHOLE LOT EASIER FOR ME! THAT TEN BILLION YEN IS AS GOOD AS MINE AND YOU WILL ALL END UP IN MY BELLY BEFORE YOU EVEN KNOW IT!"

"That's not gonna happen ugly, LIGHT HIM UP!" Wardaddy, Gordo, Grady and Norman opened fire on him with their new guns. It did considerable damage, but the Jewel Shard embedded in his forehead quickly healed the bullet wounds.

"My brother Renkotsu has better aim than you amateurs!" Kyokotsu laughed as he got back on his feet, but then a bullet went through his head and fell back down, Bible was up on a hill with his M21 rifle to snipe the bruiser from afar. Then he pounded him with three shots to the chest with the RG-6 grenade launcher and a well-placed shot to the heart from the Type 69 RPG.

"Very impressive," Kyokotsu said as he got back up again, "You're not as weak as I thought you were, BUT ENOUGH PLAYING AROUND! IT IS TIME TO END THIS!" He bellowed as he pulled out a ball and chain that was hidden underground. Wardaddy and his boys quickly moved out of the way to avoid getting crushed.

"Inuyasha, it's show time!" Wardaddy shouted through the radio.
"I'd thought you'd never ask!" Inuyasha shouted as he emerged from the trees while riding on top of a giant Joaquin. "WIND SCAR!"

The Wind Scar made direct contact with Kyokotsu and Joaquin tackled him and started biting down into his flesh. The giant spider was barely holding his own against the brute, but everything was going according to Don's plan.

"All right, Joaquin's got him pinned down, you four ready to put him down?"

"We're way ahead of you Wardaddy," Kagome said over the radio.

"All right Kagome move forward!" Shippo said on top of the Fury, Kagome put the directional lever into the forward direction and pushed the left and right sticks forward.

Wardaddy's plan was coming to fruition, he and his crew would get out in the open to grab Kyokotsu's attention so Kagome, Sango, Miroku and Shippo would sneak into the Fury through the hatch on the tank's underside. Once Inuyasha and Joaquin had pinned down Kyokotsu, the Fury would come out and finish the job.

"You're doing good Kagome, Miroku, load an anti-tank round, Sango get ready to fire."

"Gotcha Shippo." Sango replied.

"Clear Sango, remember, don't shoot until Don gives the signal."

Sango lined up the tank's scope on Kyokotsu's head so she could make the first shot count when Don gave the word. They were doing well even though it was their first time, needless to say it was a bit difficult to operate the tank and it was very nerve-racking for them all.

Shippo ordered Kagome to come to a halt once they got the Fury into position, Sango kept a bead on the mercenary's head so she can kill him and remove the jewel shard in his head.

"Inuyasha, when I give the word you and Joaquin get out of there."

"Roger that Don." Inuyasha replied as he kept slashing away at Kyokotsu's face.

"Shippo, are you and the others in position?"

"Ready and awaiting Sergeant Wardaddy, sir!"

"Steady… NOW! DO IT NOW!"

A quick puff of transformation smoke and Inuyasha jumped out of the way with a small Joaquin in his hands. Sango steeled herself to take the shot once the smoke cleared.

"ON THE WAY!" Sango shouted as she quickly stomped on the trigger pedal.

"EVERYBODY DUCK!" Wardaddy shouted as he and the boys hit the dirt. The Fury shot the anti-tank round right between the eyes and blew Kyokotsu's head apart with the Sacred Jewel shard coming out of his forehead. When his headless body hit the ground, it reverted back into nothing more than a pile of bones.

Wardaddy picked up the small jewel fragment and happily said. "I love it when a plan comes together."

The ball and chain suddenly changed into a small squad of Naraku's wasps, two flew to Don's position to get the Jewel Shard back form him but Gordo and Norman quickly mowed them down with their submachine guns before they got close. Grady used his SPAS-12 shotgun to kill off the remaining insects that were fleeing to report back to Naraku and Inuyasha finished off the rest with his Wind Scar.

"Well, I'd say that went rather smoothly now didn't it?" Miroku said five minutes later.

"Yeah, just like clockwork." Wardaddy replied.

"Great shooting Bible." Norman commented.

"You're welcome Norman, but you don't need to thank me, I'm just the instrument, not the hand."
"You did great on your first time Kagome," Gordo said to the schoolgirl. "It's not every day someone gets to be in my seat and does a good job too."

"Thank you Gordo." Kagome replied.

"Great fuckin' shot, Sango." Grady said to the demon slayer. "You got that fucker real good now."

"You're welcome Grady, but you should also thank Miroku, he got the right shell and put it in like there was no tomorrow."

"Yeah, good job monk."

"You're welcome, private Travis." Miroku said in passive voice.

After a brief dinner celebration, Wardaddy held a briefing for teams Fury and Inuyasha.

"We did great today, I couldn't be more proud of you all. Especially Kagome, Sango, Miroku, Shippo, and Joaquin. You all rose to the challenge, did your part, and you got the job done."

"Ahem."

"And you too Inuyasha, but don't you all get cocky now. We're still open for business, there are six more of those guys and they'll be coming after us. After breakfast, we're moving out to the northeast. Let's get out there and kill those assassins, then we'll stop and get back to collecting jewel shards and finding Naraku's stronghold. Clear?"

"YES SIR!"
