I'd like to apologize. My other computer crashed, and I had had this chapter finished, and I lost the file.

SO this is a rewrite, and I can only hope you all enjoy it.

February 10, Bludhaven, 8:00 am

Dick sat in the neat living room in shock. The newspaper's heading laid out before him on the coffee table. The pillow and blanket sat folded and unused, still resting on the plum colored couch. A cup of coffee was set down on the corner of the paper.

"Thank you." Dick rubbed his eyes. A lovely raven-haired petit woman smiled sadly. A clanking from the kitchen suggested her boyfriend was making breakfast.

"You didn't sleep." She pointed out.

"It's fine." Dick pulled out his phone and read through some texts.

"Everyone else is fine though? Not just the clown?" She asked.

"Jerry, that's what we called him. Short for Jerimiah." Dick supplied the information and dropped his heads into his hands. "It was Joker." Dick gasped, fighting back tears.

"We don't know that for sure!" The woman sat next to Dick and began rubbing his back. Her boyfriend entered the room with a tray holding three plates of eggs. He didn't bat an eye at the scene he walked into.

"Sonjia, it had to be! This is his M.O." Dick stood, just to get a plate of eggs shoved in his hands.

"Eat, Dick." The man's baritone voice was powerful. Dick took the plate, with a fork on it, and sat back down. Sonjia smiled up at her boyfriend.

Dick saw this out of the corner of his eye. Sonjia stood and sat on the armrest of the chair her boyfriend was sitting on. They also began eating and were discussing their day plans. Dick was still awed by Sonjia. They had dated a while back, but he had learned about her father being the man to murder his family. It had been an awkward break-up, but even Dick was astounded at how he could keep exes as friends.

"Thank you for boarding me. I have to go, sign papers and all." Dick announced, his eggs were gone.

"What about the rest of the circus?" Sonjia asked.

"They should be on a plane already. By tonight they'll be in Romania. There is a housing point there my family set up a couple generations ago." Dick gathered his duffel and stepped to the doorway.

"Dick, take care!" Sonjia called as the door closed. Dick smiled and went to find an alleyway for him to change into his uniform.

10:00 am, Gotham

"He isn't fully healed! We should send someone out for him!" Barbra huffed. Jason, Tim, Damian, Steph, Cass, and Bruce all kept their eyes trained on their computers, ignoring the side-screen which Barbra's face was posted on. They were reading up on the recent murder of a Jerimiah "Jerry" Borgs in Bludhaven just last night. The story shared the screen with the recent Blackgate breakout. Stephanie looked stressed, while Cass looked collected. The two were on a plane to Japan at the moment.

"Bruce, that looks like Joker. Barbra might be right. We should probably send someone for Dick." Stephanie said, rereading the paragraph describing the gruesome smile on Jerry's face as he hung from the overhang to the entertainment docks of Bludhaven.

"He doesn't want us to interfere." Bruce replied calmly.

"He hasn't said no to us yet for this!" Stephanie argued. "Tim, help me out!" Tim winced. Stephanie looked at Tim ins shock as he shied away from people's questioning gazes.

"He… he can take of himself." Tim said softly.

"Tim!"

"Steph, calm your tits!" Jason sighed. "I'll go check of Golden Boy, but I expect something in exchange!"

"T-t. You're unreasonable! I'll grab Grayson. At least I can speak with him properly."

"Fists are a perfectly normal way of communicating." Jason snapped. "Besides, you've been bitchin' at him ever since he left to be Nightwing again. I don't think you'd be very helpful." Damian huffed and was about to retort when Bruce held up a gloved hand.

"If Dick calls, we'll respond." He explained.

"He won't call." Barbra cried out. "He thinks that because it is his circus family he has to protect them himself!"

"Barbra. We can do no more." Bruce looked to her screen. "If he needs us, he'll call." The conversation was over. "Everyone, good job last night." Bruce suddenly said. The group looked at him in shock. Bruce just congratulated them? "Rest up." Bruce was up and off to the changing rooms. Everyone traded glances.

"Have fun in Japan." Tim said to Stephanie. The girl scoffed and shut down her screen. Cass looked to her right, where Stephanie was on the plane. Cass looked back at Tim and signed a word almost too quickly for Tim to read.

"I'm not a bigot!" Tim shouted, but her screen was also off. Jason was chuckling but headed towards the staircase.

"No weapons upstairs." Bruce called out and Jason snarled. Damian had already slipped away, so Tim was left alone in the cave. Glancing around, Tim raced to the vehicle garage. He didn't see Jason turn around and watch him.

"Oh… Replacement, are you hiding something?" Jason asked the bats in the cave as he heard a motorcycle take off. Jason smirked as he also raced to the garage and set off to follow Tim.

Barbra set up her voicemail message system and rolled out of her tower office. She rode down the elevator and had just reached ground level when her phone rang. Barbra answered.

"Hey hon!" Barbra said happily.

"Barbra, you're at the library, right?" Sam asked. Barbra rolled out of the clock tower, unnoticed by busy pedestrians.

"I had stepped out from brunch with some friends, but I'm headed back.

"Ah. Ok. See you tonight." There was a pause as no one hung up.

"Sam?"

"We…we need to talk about this, don't we?" Sam asked. Barbra sighed on her end. They did need to talk. They hadn't been home together in a month.

"Most likely." Barbra admitted. Sam made a noise from the other end of the line.

"Alright. Tonight. We'll talk, try and save this." Sam sounded so hopeful. Barbra smiled.

"Yeah. We'll fix this." Sam said goodbye and hung up. Barbra expertly rolled across the street and was about to enter the library when her phone rang again.

"Hello?" Barbra asked, not recognizing the number.

"Barbra… Baby…" Jim Gordon's pained voice cracked saying her name.

"Dad!" Barbra squeaked, she stopped where she was.

"If you'd like daddy dearest to see tomorrow, I recommend you enter that nice cab coming to pick you up." A happy, disturbingly familiar cooed into the phone. A cab, looking like any other cab, pulled right next to Barbra.

"I'm going! I'll do it!" Barbra promised, rolling next to the back seat door.

"Now, make sure we don't invite Batsy on our date!" The voice got clearer as the speaker exited the cab. Barbra eyes widened in fear as the figure gripped her arm and almost threw her from her chair to the backseat of the cab. Barbra sat up and looked in the front, where her father groaned and looked back at her.

"Baby…" He groaned.

"Daddy!" Barbra felt tears burning her eyes. The driver door slammed shut.

"Would you like some air conditioning?" The vile voice asked, and a laugh burst from blood red painted lips. The air was cranked up and Barbra gasped as a burning feeling began to form in her lungs. All Barbra saw as she passed out was the side silhouette of a bright, red, smile.

9:00 pm, Bludhaven

Nightwing(or Daywing in this case) had searched all day, but there was no trace of any of the criminals that had escaped Blackgate. There had also been no calls from his circus. This was good because they were only to call if something went wrong or when they got to Romania.

Nightwing checked his com again. There was also nothing from his family. Dick sighed. Ever since the incident with Prime, Tim had been pulling away from Dick. From everyone actually. Stephanie had complained to Dick for an hour when Tim forgot their one year anniversary. Dick had to agree that was strange, but otherwise he had made no comment. Everyone had also noticed Tim's sudden rebellious sneaking out, though no one had said anything yet.

Dick sighed as he slipped into the last warehouse of the factory district. He didn't doubt he'd find the Blackgate escapee here. Dick hesitated when he heard a noise. He was tempted to call his family, but none had called him, so he felt mildly miffed. Besides, he doubted Joker would have stayed quiet all day if it really had been him who killed Jerry. Nightwing felt confident he could take whoever was the escapee.

Nightwing landed on the ground floor. Almost immediately, a figure was on the boxes above him, outlined in the moon's light. Nightwing looked up and made a choked sound. He knew that figure.

"Raya?" The girl jumped down, her face twisted in a grin as she cried and swung at Nightwing with a lead bar. Nightwing jumped back to avoid her swing. "Raya" Nightwing had to avoid again as she swung quickly.

"Jo-Joker!" Raya giggled, tears running down her face. Nightwing had to avoid her swings as she came at him aggressively. Nightwing rotated one of his dodges and got behind the girl. Grabbing her wrists, Nightwing twisted the bar out of Raya's hands. It was then he noticed her mock-Nightwing costume, poorly stitched around her body. Raya turned and Nightwing gasped at the kick to his stomach sent him flying back. Raya stumbled forward.

"He-help. Fam-fa-family!" Raya gasped as she fell on her fast taking a step towards Nightwing. Nightwing surged forward and caught the girl. He turned her over and looked at her face. Raya was smiling, painfully and her body spasmed, until it stilled, tears still running down her face.

"Raya! No!" Nightwing laid her down and began CPR immediately. After ten minutes, Dick had to stop. Raya was dead. '"No." Nightwing whimpered. He laid his head on Raya's chest and cried. It was then that he noticed the wetness of the front of the suit and the small slit along the stomach of the suit. Gently, Nightwing pulled the edges of the suit apart and gagged at the bloody message on Raya's stomach.

Better Hurry!

Nightwing took Raya's hand to his mouth, and whispered a soft prayer into her fingers. Nightwing then called an ambulance and tore himself away from his childhood friend.

It took him an hour, but Nightwing had crossed Bludhaven and reached the entertainment docks. Gasping as he had sprinted all the way, Nightwing staggered towards the circus tent that shouldn't be in Bludhaven any more.

"No. Nonononononononono." Nightwing ran in the flap and stopped cold. Skeletons. Everywhere.

"Ladies! Gentlemen! Boys and girls of all ages! Welcome to the new and improved Healy's Circus!" A loud, obnoxious voice boomed through the mounted speakers. Nightwing gasped as he thought the skeletons shifted. "Please welcome our star attraction! Nightwing! The Falling Birdy!" Nightwing dashed forward as he sensed something swiping at his head. Nightwing turned, his eskirma sticks ready. He made a small noise in his throat at seeing the usually kind black bear roar at him.

"NO!" Nightwing screamed. A large crowd formed a circle around him. "You're all on the plane! You were dafe!" Nightwing screamed, his voice cracking. Laughter echoed over the speakers.

"NOPE!" the cackle was like a hammer into Nightwing's ears. Nightwing dodged the circus themed attacks of his family. The strong man threw his weights, the clowns threw various trick objects and the animal trainers snapped their whips, the monkeys, lions and the bear shifting in the back of the group. The animals at least looked confused to the situation. The small baby elephant gave a snort of fear.

"You all have to fight this!" Nightwing cried, blocking the knives juggler's thrust. "Just remember who you are!" Nightwing tried again, hissing as an attack from behind tore the shoulder of his suit and gave him a deep gouge.

"It won't work!" Joker was standing on the Ringleader's box. Nightwing jumped from the group of people tightening in on him and darted towards the Prince of Evil. The Joker laughed as he dodged and Nightwing hit a skeleton. Nightwing got up off the ground and stared at the skeleton in horror.

"No. Haley" Nightwing gagged as he recognized the suit this skeleton was in. He doubted it was a fake. Slowly, Nightwing looked up and released a cry upon seeing the yellow skeletons tied to the acrobatic bars. "Joker!" Nightwing screamed in rage. A ringing in his head stopped him.

Nightwing turned slowly, his vision spinning. A small figure dressed in pink was giggle, tears running down her cheeks.

"Christy." Dick coughed, he reached out for her.

"Christy, can you say 'Hello Nightwing'?" Joker was right behind the young girl. Crying and laughing, the girl lifted a giant hammer.

"Hello Nightwing." The hammer came down with background music of sick laughter.

2:00 pm, Metropolis

Jason was confused. Why had the replacement come to Metropolis? The kid couldn't be cheating on Stephanie! That girl would beat his ass. Jason followed Tim, his curiosity aroused.

It didn't take long for them to reach an abandoned warehouse just outside of city imits.

"Kon-El!" Tim called out as he entered. Jason slipped in the door and hid behind boxes.

"Tim?" Jason barely hid his gasp as he heard what sounded to be Conner answer. Except Conner spoke with such excitement in his voice. This must be Prime. Tim was hanging with Prime. Jason quieted his breathing and listened.

"I'm so glad you came!" Prime apparently was hugging Tim as Jason heard Tim laugh.

"You're going to crush me!"

"Sorry." There was a pause. "Is everything ok? You look upset." Jason could barely keep from smirking. Prime seemed less emotionally constipated as Conner.

"Ah. Well, just family troubles."

"I hear you." Tim was laughing again. Jason frowned. He had only heard Tim laugh like that when Grayson was being an idiot. Jason felt a slight pang in his chest. Dick hadn't been around for a while.

"No, I really hear you. Come out from behind the boxes!" The voice had turned vicious. Jason hear Tim draw his bo staff.

"Calm your tits." Jason called, standing with his hands up.

"You followed me?" Tim hissed. Jason scoffed.

"You've been as suspicious as Selina. Now what the hell are you doing with this thing when our brother needs our help?" Jason laced his words with venom, trying to guilt trip Tim. Prime snarled, ready to pounce. Tim held back his friend.

"I got to go." Tim said to Prime. "Kon-El, I'll see you later. I have to deal with this first." Jason smiled at how that last bit sounded like a threat.

"Let's go then." Jason smirked.

"I can take care of him." Prime flexed his fists. Jason stepped back. That sounded like a real threat. Tim calmed his friend.

"It's fine." Tim turned to Jason.

"I"ll be back." Tim promised as he walked towards Jason. Grabbing Jason's arm, Tim dragged the older man out of the building. "Don't you dare tell a soul!" Tim's finger was in Jason's face, followed closely by Tim's face. Tim was serious.

"I won't, once you tell me why you're betraying everyone by interacting with that-"

"Call him a thing and I'll castrate you." Yes, Tim was serious. Jason side.

"Fine, I won't tell. But you owe me!" Tim backed off.

"Deal." The two stared at each other.

"Let's head back to Gotham. It's a bit of ride, and we were speeding all the way here." Jason suggested.

"Why?" Tim asked.

"I… think we should try and get Bruce to call Dick. Offer some support. It would mean a lot to Dick if Bruce offered." Jason explained. He was amazed Tim hadn't thought to do that honestly.

"Sounds good." Tim walked to the bikes.

"Tim." Jason stopped his replacement. He scolded himself for acting like Dick.

"Is everything ok? With you, I mean?" Tim looked into Jason's eyes. A whole minute passed.

"Yes." Time turned and mounted his bike. Jason was shocked at the blatant lie, but he too boarded his bike and followed Tim back to Gotham.

It was around six when the boys returned.

"Quiet day." Tim commented as they pulled up to Barbra's clock tower. Jason huffed in agreement. Usually they at least got a text.

"Well, let's just see if Barbra's in, and…" In the dimming light, the flash bomb was more intense than usual.

"Fuck!" Tim and Jason cried in unison. They both blindly reached for their weapons.

"Where did it come from?" Tim asked.

"I don't- urgh!" Jason grunted as a heavy weight landed upon his head. With the world blinking on him, Jason watch Tim also get blitz attacked just before the effects of the flash bomb wore off. Jason's blood ran cold as he saw the bright, red smile. They were thrown in the back of a cab, atop another body, a body was then thrown out of the cab.

"I've been waiting a long time, boys." The air turned on high, and Jason and Tim were truly unconscious.

4:00pm

Damian flicked his marble and sighed. The red head next to him sighed as well.

"Damian, in my opinion, you should apologize to your brother." Collin yawned, flicking his marble, knocking Damian's away and winning that round of marbles.

"He started it." Damian grumbled.

"You should end it then." Collin leaned back against his bunk bed from the boy's home. Damian slouched back as well. "Visiting hours are almost over." Collin complained.

"They don't even know I'm here." Damian reminded his friend. "I wish my father would agree to house you." Damian admitted. Then, the ex-assassin slapped a hand over his mouth. Collin laughed.

"Nah. I like it here! I like people and all the boys like me, so it's great!" Collin stood and walked over to the window, opening it to the frigid air. "You'll come again soon, right?" Collin asked. Footsteps were heard approaching.

"I will. Goodbye." Damian leapt out the window. He saw Collin close the window once he had crossed the alley and made it to the roof.

Damian checked his com. He sent his father a quick text, explaining he was going to do a short run around the shopping district since he was close before he got home. He got a confirming response, with Bruce saying he himself would be in Crime Alley and by the Docks.

Three hours later, Damian was in the cave when a hood was thrown over his head and a sharp whack upon his noggin sent the young boy in oblivion.

Barbra woke first. She struggled in her bonds but was hushed by Joker. Barbra shivered as the psychotic man hissed in her ear.

"Don't wake the sleep beauties!" Barbra gasped as she saw Damain, his head lolling, Jason and Tim, both coming back to consciousness and finally Dick, who had a disturbing blood spot on the bandages around his face. Barbra gasped again when she looked down and found herself in her old Batgirl uniform.

After checking everyone's bonds, Joker excused himself to get his last guest. Barbra watched as the boys in front of her woke slowly. Damian was last to wake, but Dick was the most out of it.

"Dick." Barbra felt something rubbing her lips. Apparently she had bandages around her head like everyone else.

"Everyone ok?" Dick's words were slurred, but at least he was cogitative.

"Yeah. You?" Jason replied for everyone. Dick was looking down, his head bobbing.

"Been better." Dick admitted, a soft groan emitting from him. Barbra saw the blood stain had spread

"Welcome to my feast!" Joker came in, pushing Bruce in on a wheeled chair. Barbra choked as Joker gave his speech. The lids were lifted and Barbra gagged at the faces staring up at their owners.

It almost happened too fast. Bruce caused bats to come flying through the tunnels, and was off chasing Joker as some gas started filling the tunnel in Joker's wake. Though she could barely stand, Barbra lunged at Jason. The punch to her jaw broke Barbra from the influence of the gas, and she helped Alfred break up the fight between the boys.

In the end, Joker was gone and Bruce was unscathed, Alfred in detox, Jason had a fractured collar bone, Tim had a sprained wrist and shoulder, and Damian a dislocated jaw. Dick wouldn't let anyone examine him until he got an explanation.

"What. Happened." Dick's demand was cold and heartless. Even as he swayed on his feet, he sounded in control. Barbra had never seen Bruce shy away, but Dick's furry was a terrifying force. "He knew who we were." Dick continued. Bruce just kept looking down. "BRUCE!" Dick's shout made everyone jump.

"He has never cared in the past." Bruce started. The story then came out. Apparently Bruce had once found a joker card in the cave after a boat incident with Joker. Dick was shaking, whether from his evident concussion or furry, Barbra couldn't tell.

"You never told us he knew." Dick said, punctuating his words. Bruce looked up, confusion on his face. It was an odd look on the man. "He knew. He knew us. He knew our friends. He knew our jobs. He knew our families." Dick had leaned into Bruce. The younger man was braced on the bed, an arm on either side of Bruce, their faces inches apart and Dick's face was livid. Barbra felt cold dread drip down her back.

"Dick?" Bruce sounded wary.

"He knew who we cared for, who we loved, he knew everything and you DIDN'T TELL US? YOU DIDN'T THINK IT WORTH A MINUTE OF CONSIDERATION!?" Dick just screamed in Bruce's face. Bruce stood up sharply, almost banging noses with Dick.

"You don't understand. He didn't care!" Bruce defended. Dick shook his head and yanked at his own hair.

"Didn't care doesn't matter!" Dick screamed, his voice cracking at the end. The room went quiet as Dick was sobbing. Dick just stood there and cried, large tears rolling down his face. "It didn't matter. It doesn't matter." Dick was whispered, and breathing heavily.

"Dick, you need medical attention." The blood stain was half the bandage by now, and blood dripped from the soaked bandage that remained on Dick's head. Dick evidentially didn't care.

"It doesn't matter Bruce." Dick turned to Bruce with a broken smile. "It doesn't matter anymore." Damian was stepping back, away from Richard. Jason and Tim had edged away slightly as well. Barbra wanted to, but she was still limited to the cot. Two weeks ago Barbra had tried an experimental surgery in Europe. She was pretty sure it was a success, but she still had so much physical therapy to do.

"Why bother anymore?" Dick asked. Bruce stepped forward towards Dick. "What if he had 'cared'?" Dick asked. Dick was leaning on the empty cot, his back to the family.

"I've arranged for all of us to become completely invisible if our covers are blown by an enemy." Bruce admitted slowly. Jason and Tim and Damian snarled and cried out "Why?" Barbra watched Dick as Bruce attempted to explain. She wasn't shocked; she had expected something of the sort.

"Dick?" The room quieted again. Barbra thought she heard Bruce hiss at Damian to call in someone. Clark or Wally or someone? Barbra wasn't sure but Dick was shaking and muttering.

"It really didn't fucking matter. It never mattered at all." Dick was crying again. Bruce went up to Dick and placed a hand on Dick's back. Dick twisted and punch Bruce with all his might. Bruce actually fell to the ground. Barbra waited for Dick to yell, demand and explanation, something, but Dick just stared down at his father figure.

It was surprising when Dick fell to his knees, not bothering to slow himself at all so his knees cracked on the stone. It was even more surprising when Dick fell onto Bruce, who had sat up. Bruce was surprised as well, his arms around Dick in an uncontrolled reaction to keep the boy form falling to the side.

"You can't leave me. Please, not again." Dick was sobbing, and didn't speak again. Bruce looked up at Barbra and the rest of the family. Damian apparently hadn't gone to get anyone.

"Shh, it's ok." Bruce rubbed Dick's back. Barbra gestured for Jason to bring her backup laptop. With shaking fingers, Barbra looked p news and Bludhaven. Soon she was crying as well. Bruce looked up at her for an explanation.

"They're dead." She explained. She saw confused faces. "The circus. Everyone, Joker's Laughing Gas." Barbra swallowed a sob. Dick was shaking, his face buried in Bruce's chest. Bruce tightened his hold.

"Damian, please call that new doctor. Dick will need more experienced medical help for his concussion and Alfred needs rest."

The cavern was quiet except for sobbing for hours.

February 14, Gotham 7:00 am

All of Young Justice and Teen Titans stood back and watched Dick nod as a man in black with a Red tie and white gloves spoke quickly. Dick barely responded. Dick himself was in a white suit with a black shirt and red tie.

"I take everything has been destroyed?" Jaime was translating for the group. Dick just nodded.

"Is the feast prepared? Have you gathered everything they need for the afterlife?" The man was looking nervously at the newly erected mausoleum.

"Should he really be doing this by himself?" Clark whispered to Bruce. Bruce was watching Dick carefully, never removing his eyes from the young man.

"Romani are particular about death rites." Bruce answered. Clark sighed. Almost everyone was in black, with hints of red or white, as is common in Romani funerals. Barbra had researched it and informed everyone who had offered to come.

"Now, the mulo might still be mad, they have died very violently. You also had them cremated, that is very out of the ordinary, friend."

"Who is that guy?" Artemis asked.

"Dick's mom's cousin." Wally answered. "Bastard didn't show up until Bruce offered him money to help out."

"How should we appease them?" Dick wouldn't answer. He hadn't spoken since his breakdown three days earlier. Instead, Dick pulled a small doll from his pocket. The skirt was blackened and the doll partially destroyed, but it still had a beautiful porcelain face.

Dick swallowed hard as he entered the mausoleum. Dick squeezed the doll as he placed it next to a picture of a cute little strawberry blonde with a gap toothed smile. Stitched into the doll's dress, and barely readable, was the name: Christy.

Dick stayed in the mausoleum for a long time. He ran fingers over the name plates and placed a white rose in every little hook meant for such a purpose on the name tags. Finally, Dick exited. The other gypsy looked nervous as he closed the doors. The man prayed quietly.

"Let us home they are not angry." He said to Dick. Dick, however was meandering to a set of graves next to the mausoleum. He had been horrified to learn that, yes, his parents' grave had been exhumed. The bodies were back in the graves now, but Dick felt uneasiness. Dick dropped to his knees and his body shook, but his tears had all been cried out.

The other gypsy sat next to Dick.

"Let us pray for them." He offered. The man started singing and old Romani song. It was haunting and beautiful.

The YJ team, the Teen Titans and the big 7 from the League watched.

"Bruce, what if he…" Dinah was also there.

"We've removed all sharp objects from his room, there is a screen bolted to his window and Alfred's locked all meds in his room and has only given the code to Jason, Tim, and me." Bruce was still watching his son.

"So he's on suicide watch?" Rave asked quietly.

"Rae, he just watched his whole family die, again." Garfield said softly.

"What do we do?" Conner asked. Tim turned and walked away. No one said anything. Jason closed his eyes and stopped himself from tackling the retreating boy and punching sense into him.

"Right now, we get him home and in bed. He shouldn't be up too much with his concussion." Barbra said. Everyone nodded, and Bruce went and fetched Dick.

"Thank you for your assistance." Bruce said in halting Romani to the other gypsy. The other man smiled.

"For family." The man took Bruce's hand, and Bruce felt paper in his hand. The man walked off among the graves, hurriedly to his car. Bruce looked down and saw the check he had given the man earlier.

"Come, Richard. Let's go home." Richard nodded and let himself be led away. Bruce felt rage in his whole being. J'hn and M'gann winced as he passed.

Joker… you… you will pay.

Bruce and Alfred tucked the covers around Dick. The boy looked out the window.

"I'll kill him." It was so unexpected and quiet, Bruce wasn't sure he heard it. Dick didn't look at them, he just stared out the window.

"If I ever meet Joker again, I will kill him." And Bruce didn't doubt it.
