It was just another day for captain Hitsugaya the day an annoyance in his life was to appear. As normal he sat in his office on the nicely mild summers day doing his and his missing lieutenants paperwork as obviously she would always go missing as soon as the paperwork was in.

But what made today different was a visit from a certain 5th squad lieutenant.

"Shiro!" She called as she opened the door as chipper as always.

"How many time do I have to tell you to call me captain Hitsugaya, bed wetter?" He hissed at her without looking up from his work.

"Sorry," she said like always and Hitsugaya finished a page of his work and looked up,

"To what do I owe the visit anyway?" He asked, "usually your busy sorting the new shingami academy year."

"Well I was but I just can across something." She came in and closed the door behind her holding a book tightly to her chest, "do you have any family that you remember, shiro?"

He looked at her confused,

"Why do you ask?"

"Well I was going through the registry for next year at the academy and came across another Hitsugaya." She explained.

"What?" He got up from his seat as she opened the book she had with her without being asked.

He went over and got the list of names and Momo pointed to one.

"Akumeren Hitsugaya." She said.

Hitsugaya was quiet. Akuma meant demon and with this last name... Did his father make a replacement?

"Do you recognise it shiro?" Momo asked in the thoughtful silence.

"I hope not.." He muttered before find his voice again, "Can you get me in to see him at the start of the new school year? I want to make sure it's who I think it is..."

"I can." She nodded obviously never catching the I hope not bit and thinking she was bringing together long lost family.

He kept Akumeren in the back of him mind in the next few weeks but not once didn't the thought of a possible replacement leave hitsugayas mind. He as a demon was bad enough there couldn't be another and even then what was his motive? Was he loyal to his father or was he going to have to guide the younger demon in the way of mortals.

Then their was his power. How did he get out of hell?

Questions plagued the young captain for a long time until eventually the day came. It wasn't made a big fuss about and they called the new student to a teachers office a few days after the entrance ceremony. That was where Hitsugaya was waiting, out of the way of other students since there wasn't a captain's visit scheduled.

The young captain stood there tense as he learnt on the desk in the room. It was the moment of truth. The moment that could mean everything for him. It all depended on just who and what this kid was.

He jumped out of his skin when the door opened.

"Shiro." Momo poked her head though.

"How many times, Momo?" He sighed.

"Right sorry," She smiled and shrugged it off as always moving out the way.

"Aku-chan, this is Captain Hitsugaya."

Hitsugaya looked over the small boy behind her. The first bad thing is that he looked like him, his white messy hair was a bit shorter and his eyes were blue but those where the only notable differences. Second was his smell. He obviously hadn't been in this world long cause Hitsugaya could still smell Hell from him. He must have gone straight for the academy.

"So?" Momo interrupted the silence.

"Big brother." The boy broke out into a sweet smile.

Hitsugaya sighed, "Yeah...I guess."

"Really?" Momo clapped, "It's so sweet you've been able to find each other again."

"You mind giving us a bit of time, Momo?" He asked

"Oh! Sure sure." She smiled a knowing understanding sister smile which told him she thought he was going to be all nice and emotional as soon as she closed the door but instead when that door was closed Hitsugaya finally let loose with the icy glare.

"That's such a mean look, big brother." The boy giggled.

"Why do you exist?" He hissed.

"Why do you think father would make another, Daygon?" Aku shrugged, "I was made to force you to carry out the purpose you turned away from."

"Not do it yourself?" the young captain raised an eyebrow.

"No," Aku frowned, "Father was not able to replicate that power again. Or at least not to the same magnitude."

"I see," The captain crossed his arms, "So you were able to dimension hop enough to get yourself out of hell but no one else."

Akumerien nodded, "But all is needed is me. You brought what's needed to force you to do your work here with you anyway."

Eyes narrowed, "But you don't know where is is."

"No," He admitted, "But would it really take me that long to talk to Momo-san and find out enough abut you to figure it out?"

Hitsugaya gritted his teeth as his little brother smiled wide. He could go back home and retrieve the collar but if Aku didn't find it there it wouldn't take a genius to know what he had done and start looking around his own quarters. No matter when he did the little demon would find it eventually. It was possible just to send the little bastard to hell but with his powers he could just come right back.

Then there was how he was going to get the collar on him. Father had probably given him something or an ability to corner him.

But maybe...there was something he could do.

"You won't get it." He finally hissed.

"We'll see big brother." Aku smiled sweetly again.

"What's your real name anyway?" Hitsugaya had to ask, Akumerien was not a name his father would give,

"Adrian."

"Right," Hitsugaya walked over and patted the smaller boy on the head, "We'll see how this goes, Adiran."

"Okay."

He walked through the door seeing Momo outside. She went to ask how it went when she heard a,

"See you soon, Big brother!"

"I better see you in squad 10 next year, Aku." Hitsugaya decided for now to play along.

"Right!" The boy nodded.

After some squealing from Momo about how happy she was for them Hitsugaya left. He now had some very important business to attend to. Get the collar and use the knowledge of this world he had over Adiran. Let his scorwer district 1 and squad 10 and find nothing he'd hide it with someone in a different world. Someone who had proved to pretty much everyone he met he was trust worthy.

Ichigo Kurosaki.

Not only would Adiran be confused it was in another world he was yet to learn the hard lessons Hitsugaya had. Trust, Friendship. To Adrian, it wouldn't make sense for him to leave it with another person, not to mention a so far away and to someone he really hadn't know that long.
