Chapter 9: A Relax Day?

Rachel turned over on her side and sensed her sisters doing the same as they all lay in bed, feeling too lazy to get up. Then again, today was a day off. Gosei, seeing how hard the Power 3 had been fighting, decided to let them have a day to themselves.

And the girls planned on getting some extra sleep, but Sally woke up and couldn't go back to sleep and so jumped on Rachel and Jessica. "Come on. Wake up!" she said excitedly.

Her sisters groaned. "Sally, I thought we were going to sleep in," said Rachel.

"But we have today off and I want to do a lot today," the young girl said.

Jessica got up. "Well, I'm awake too," she said.

Rachel yawned. "Okay," she said. "What's up first?"

"Movies!" Both Sally and Jessica said at the same time, making Rachel laugh as they all got dressed and headed out.

Master Vile was in deep thought and had been noticing how some humans like to stay up a lot, especially at night. Some could stay up all night and others just couldn't, but sleep was important for humans. "Hmm," he thought to himself and then looked at the various powders he carried with him to use on his enemies. He then saw one was a stay-awake powder that would keep anyone awake for either a short time or forever, depending on the dose that was spread out. "Perfect," he said. "I'll sprinkle this powder over all the Earth and none of the humans will ever sleep again."

"But the Earth is pretty big, Daddy," said Rita, who then perked up. "Could we perhaps help you?"

The evil villain looked at his son and daughter and checked to make sure there was enough of the powder. "Very well," he said. "You may help and when the humans are staying awake, unable to go to sleep, their bodies will give out and they will all be vulnerable. It will be the perfect time to finally conquer this planet."

His evil laugh echoed through the chamber and mixed with his children's laughs.

Meanwhile, the girls were having a great day, having gone to the movies and watched two films, gone to the mall, and were now eating lunch when Jessica had a gut feeling and glanced up. "What is it, Jess?" Rachel asked.

"I don't know," she said. Suddenly, both she and Rachel started feeling powder fall on them and they began brushing it off. Sally, having a bad feeling, ducked under the table as her sisters got up.

"I'm wide awake," she said. "I don't feel tired."

"Me neither and we were walking quite a bit," said Jessica.

Sally quickly called Gosei. "Gosei," she said.

"Yes, Sally," he said. "Our scanners picked up the white powder. It is a powder that helps people to stay awake forever. Did any fall on you?"

"No," she said. "What do I do?"

"Robo Knight will be there to come get you," he said. "For now, stay hidden."

"Okay."

Sally waited for her guardian and watched her sisters worriedly.

Master Vile laughed as he saw his plan was working and the Power 3 was now unable to stop him. "This is going very well," he said. "It won't be long until we can destroy the Earth."

"Daddy, can we destroy a bit of it too?" asked Rita.

"Yeah, like a small piece of it?" said Rito eagerly.

Vile sighed. "Very well," he said. "We'll each get a third of the Earth we can destroy."

That made them happy and they danced around, eager to begin destroying Earth.

Robo Knight was able to gather a sample of the powder and found Sally, who ran to him and he picked her up, taking her back to the Command Center and gave the sample to Ninjor, who put it into the computer and shook his head.

"Master Vile has used too much of this powder," he said. "The only thing that can stop it is if a special herb is used to stop the effects."

"What is it?" Sally asked.

"A very special herb, which we have here, thankfully, but myself, Robo Knight, and Blue Senturion have to sprinkle it at the same time over the planet," said Ninjor. "I'm afraid you might have to face Vile yourself, Sally."

The ten-year-old looked scared for a moment and then looked at him. "I'll distract him," she said. "How long will it take to get that remedy ready?"

"A few minutes," said Blue Senturion. "Sally, be careful. We'll come help as soon as we can."

She nodded and pulled out her morph key and inserted it into her bracelet. "Purple!" she cried out, jumping up in the air and landing in a karate stance.

She arrived to see Rito and Rita making the people run away and Rachel and Jessica were in the bushes, unseen and trying to get their morphers working, but their hands were shaking very hard and they were shaking. "Something in that powder is causing a bad reaction," said Rachel.

"It's a powder that makes people stay awake," said Sally. "Ninjor, Senturion, and Robo Knight are getting a remedy ready."

"Sally, be careful," said Jessica.

"Sorry we're in too much of a mess to help you, sis," said Rachel.

"Don't worry," said Sally. "Those two don't scare me."

With that, she headed off to face the siblings. Her sisters were concerned, but knew they had to have faith in their little sister.

Sally faced Rito and Rita. "Hey creeps!" she said. "You didn't get all of us!"

"It's the little Purple brat," said Rita.

"Let's get her!" said Rito.

"Sky!"

At her cry, her Eagle Zord started firing at the ground near the two villains, startling them.

"You think that will stop us?" Rita sneered.

Suddenly, a green mist started surrounding everything. Rachel and Jessica were a bit shocked by it, but then saw Ninjor working a sort of machine that was spreading the mist. "Breathe it in!" he said urgently. "It will stop the effect of the stay-awake powder!"

That was all they needed to hear and the girls breathed in the mist, which was odorless and started working right away, to their surprise. They soon felt strong enough to morph and did so immediately.

"Gold!" Rachel cried out, landing by her little sister.

"Aqua!" Jessica cried out, landing near her sisters.

"Oh, man! The powder's effect wore off!" said Rito.

Ninjor let out a laugh. "Of course it did," he said as Robo Knight and Blue Senturion came up. "Because evil plans never last long enough to finish."

Rita let out a screech of anger. "You'll pay for this!" she cried out as she and her brother quickly retreated, making the Power 3 and their guardians laugh lightly.

"Is everyone okay?" asked Rachel. "Including the whole planet."

"We spread the remedy over the Earth and everyone is now safe, if not a bit tired," said Blue Senturion.

"Now that you mention it," said Jessica as she yawned. "I'm really tired."

"That makes two of us," said Rachel. "Sorry, Sally."

"It's okay," she said. "We still had fun, despite Master Vile ruining the rest of the day."

"And you had to save us and the town by yourself," said Jessica.

"Well, I had help," said Sally. "I was just a distraction."

"And a good one at that," said Rachel with a smile. "Let's get back to the Command Center."

They did and Gosei kindly let the older girls get some rest as they were exhausted. Sally didn't mind and helped the three robot guardians with stuff around the Command Center.

The day might not have been a total day off, but now that Master Vile's plan had failed once more, the rest of the day was evil-free and enjoyable now.
