The three watched as the festivities of the Summer Light Celebration went into full swing. The bright red balloons, banners, food stands, street performers filled the not so humble town. They watched in awe as the people made good times of their lives."Boy these people sure know how to have fun" Jack said
"Jack! put your mask back on" Snotlout commanded lifting his own mask to say to Jack. The teen narrowed his eyes at him before he obeyed. Snotlout gave a deep sigh and put on his mask once more "I cannot believe I let you guys talk me into going to this thing"he grumbled while crossing his arms
"Snotlout, this is a chance for Jack to study Summer Casting upclose" Hiccup said through his mask
"Yeah, I have to learn it at some point and this could be my only chance" Jack chimed in earning a groan of misery from Snotlout "Besides, Look at this place exotic food, festive music, street performers what's not to like?" he added
"Fired up Summer Casters" He deadpanned
"We're already here, we might as well" Hiccup said after rolling his eyes
"Yeah! besides this could be fun" Jack said
"Don't worry, if it looks like trouble we'll leave" Hiccup told him
"Yeah, cause we always leave before we get into trouble don't we?" Snotlout's voice was just oozing of sarcasm
The three of them walked through the small town as the festival went on. They watched in awe as the citizens of the town made merry, cheered and sang to their hearts content.
Jack stopped and turned his head and saw a huge crowd of people watching in amazement as a man standing on a stage was waving and controlling streams of sunlight above his head. Jack smiled and motioned for his friends to come and take a look
"What do you think it is?"Hiccup asked
"I don't know but there's a huge crowd so it must be good" Jack replied
"Knowing Summer Nation, its probably an execution" Snotlout added
The three of them stood infront of the stage and watched the man perform. He was marvelous! he controlled three rays of sunlight and made them dance furiously in the air, several moments passed by as he made the ray's dispersed into one another and a bunch of doves came from the mini explosion and flew away "I gotta learn that" Jack said
"Jack, the mask" Snotout said through gritted teeth
"Sorry" Jack said with a sheepish grin and put it on again
The crowds applause seemed to simmer down a bit "Thank you! Thank you! for my next trick I need a volunteer from the audience!" He said
"OOHH ME!" Jack screamed while raising his hand
"What are you doing?" Snotlout made him put his arm down
"I wanna get a closer look"
"It's better we don't attract any attention to ourselves" Hiccup explained
"How about you young man?!" The performer said while gesturing to Hiccup
"Uhm? no thanks" Hiccup tried
"Aww he's shy! let's give him some encouragement folks!" The crowd cheered and screamed for Hiccup to comply, soon enough he groaned in misery and did so. He let the man take his hand and lead him to the stage. He than sat Hiccup down in a chair in the middle of it and said "This next trick is called 'the fury of the phoenix! you shall be the helpless captive" he tied Hiccup to the chair and walked a few feet away.
The he conjured some streams of sunlight that took the form of a firey red bird and madeit fly above the audience who cheered and clapped in amazement at the sight of the fire bird before it returned to the air above the stage "Don't worry I shall rescue you" he proclaimed to Hiccup in a mock tone before creating a leash like stream of light that tied itself to the neck of the bird.
"It's too strong I can't hold it" the performer said as the bird looked like it loss control
"We gotta help him!" Jack said as he tried to make a break for the stage in fear of harm coming to Hiccup
"We don't wanna make scene!" Snotlout held him back
"The rope it's breaking!" the performer's leash then broke at that, and the fire bird headed for the tied up Hiccup who screamed in terror
That was it for Jack, he jumped to the stage and infront of the bird's path he then circled his arms and spun himself then released an ice wind to intercept the bird. As soon as it hit, confetti dispersed from the collision and scattered on the onlookers.
"Are you trying to upstage me?!" The performer hissed at Jack. Jack looked at him in confusion at the moment and then noticed the confetti that scattered through the audience. He realized what happened and rubbed his head sheepishly, it was all just an act.
"Sorry" He tried
"Hey! that kids the Guardian!" A civilian said and caught the attention of the nearby patrols
Jack's eyes went wide and his hands flew to his face as he noticed that his mask wasn't there anymore "Time to leave" he said as he and Snotlout untied Hiccup and ran for it.
They bolted past threw the crowds of people in the street with the patrol chasing quickly following them. They turned to back alley and continued to flee but they were cornered when they met a fence blocking their path "Follow me I'll get you out of here!" a voice said. They all saw a man wearing a large black hood motioning for them.
The group pondered for a moment deciding whether or not to listen him, but seeing as the people who were chasing them get closer and closer, they hastily follow the man.
After they ran to the direction he pointed to he threw a smoke bomb at the people in pursuit and followed the three.
Once they made sure that they were far away enough they continued to walk through a forest path and made up camp so they could properly talk.
"Thanks for helping us" Hiccup said
"No problem the name's Kai" Kai said
"So what's your story?"Snotlout asked
"I serve a man ...well more than a man really, a myth...but he's real!, a living legend! Oswald the desserter" He told them
"Who's that?" Jack asked
"He was a Summer Nation General...or wait...was he an admiral?" Kai asked himself as he scratched his head
"We get it! he was highly ranked! so what's so special about him?" Snotlout all but snapped
"He was the first person to ever leave the Summer Nation and live"
"Do you know why he left?"
"They say he couldn't take the madness of it all anymore, he was a Summer Casting genius! some say he's mad, but he's not. ...He's 'enlightend'"
"Wait! so there's a Summer Caster who's not with the Summer lord?! We haft to go see him! he can train me!" Jack exclaimed
"We are not gonna find some insane Summer Caster" Snotlout intervened
"He's not crazy! and he's the perfect person to train the Guardian, that's why I saved you back there" Kai said
"Look. thanks for the help but we're leaving for North Berk first thing in the morning" Snotlout explained to Kai in the most serious tone he could manage.
"Snotlout" Jack caught his attention, when the boy turned to the white haired teen he saw the pleading look on Jack's face "This could be my only chance to find a master Summer Caster...who would actually be willing to teach me"
"It can't hurt to just talk to him Snotlout" Hiccup added
"WHY DOESN'T ANYONE EVER LISTEN TO ME?! FINE!" Snotlout angrily shouted
Kai then lead them through the forest to find Oswald. After a few good minutes of walking they stopped at what looked like a small cottage nearby the river.
"Is that where Oswald is?"Jack asked
"Yeah but you better let me talk to him first" Jack raised a brow at what Kai said "He's not a... big fan of visitors" He further explained. Jack let out a breath but nodded in understanding. The three watched as Kai made his way to the cottage and enter it.
"So the Guardian was here and YOU LET HIM GET AWAY?!" If it weren't for his men holding him back Alvin could swear he could've killed these pathetic excuse for Summer Nation soldiers.
"Yes sir... he did" One of them admitted
"I'll ignore your incompetence for the time being! WHICH WAY DID THEY GO?!" Alvin roared at him
The man in question shakingly pointed his finger to a direction in the woods "They headed through there sir, up the river I suspect" he choked out
Alvin then turned to his men "Ready the river boats at once! we're getting the Guardian" and to Alvin that was a fact.
"So what did he say? can I see him now?" Jack asked Kai who stepped out of the small home
"He won't see you, He's very angry that I brought you here, He wants you to leave immediately" Kai answered
"Finally, let's hit the road" Snotlout said
Jack ignored him "Why won't he see me?" he asked
"He says you're not ready, because you haven't started Autumn or Spring Casting yet"
"Wait, how did he know that?"
"He saw the way you walked into camp, he said he could tell"
"I'm going in anyway" Jack said as he stood up made his way to the cottage. He stood before the door and with a deep breath he opened it. He saw the room illuminated with with balls of light in glass spheres and in the center of the room a middle aged man with his back turned to the door.
"Get out" the man said in a dangerous tone as he caught wind of Jack's presence
Jack hesitated for a brief moment but took a step forward and stood before Oswald "Master, I need to learn Summer Casting"
"Only a fool seeks his own destruction" Oswald replied
Jack breathed for a moment and sat down before him Oswald "I'm the Guardian, its my destiny to-"
"DESTINY!?" he whailed "What would a child know of destiny!? If a fish lives in this river, does he know the rivers destiny!? NO!Only that it runs on and on, out of its control, he may follow where it flows but he cannot see its end. He cannot imagine the ocean" Oswald trailed off
"O-kay, I don't really see how fish fit into all of this" Jack chuckled hoping he could lighten the man's mood
Unfortunately in proved to be fruitless "I don't like smart mouth's boy" his voice was just short of a growl
Jack's expression immediately dropped and he put on his most neutral face "It's the Guardian's duty to master all of the Casting disciplines" he explained
"To do that you must master discipline itself, but you have no interest in that so I have no interest in you" Jack could tell Oswald wants him to leave.
"Please, I need to learn"He begged
"ARE YOU DEAF?! how can I train you if you refuse to listen?!" He turned and faced Jack. Jack saw that Oswald was an elderly man, no more than forty years of age, with his gray hair and beard, though he didn't look frail and helpless. he still had a very toned definition of muscle and obvious physicality for his age.
Jack stared at the man who continued to rant "You are 'Winter' the season of cold, you cannot learn Summer without going through Autumn or Spring!. Autumn is the time of change, the warmth of Summer to the cold of Winter, Spring is the time of rebirth, an explosion of life. Summer,...Summer is the time of light and warmth, the total oppossite of you! Without you learning to properly transition there is no telling what kind of mayhem and destruction you may cause!"he exclaimed
"But this could be my only chance!"Jack pleaded, he knew it could be his only chance
"FOR THE LAST TIME I REFUSE! YOU DO NOT EVEN KNOW THE DIFFERENCE OF THE SEASONS!You know only of the cold, you don't know the rejuvination of life that is the Spring, the culmination of change that is the Autumn, and most importantly...the burning sensation of the Summer! YOU ARE NOT READY TO LEARN! YOU ARE TOO WEAK!" when Oswald finally finished berating Jack, the light from the glass spheres that illuminated the room went out, enveloping the both of them in complete darkness.
"So you think I am weak?" a voice said, Oswald furrowed his brows in confusion. This was not the boy he was talking to earlier. The voice was that of woman, the light returned and Oswald could finally see who it was, his eyes widened and his blood ran cold as he was shocked at the sight.
"Guardian Toothiana" he recognized the woman, she looked like a ghost of her former glory, but still she looked powerful enough, he panicked at the realization of what had just been said "I didn't mean-"
"I have mastered the seasons a thousand times in a thousand lifetimes, now I must do it once more. You will teach the Guardian Summer Casting" narrowing her eyes at the man she can tell her message got through as Oswald lowered his head in defeat.
"Yes, yes I will teach you" He muttered
"You will?! That's great!" Oswald's head snapped back up and groaned when he saw that Toothiana was no longer there, in her place was Jack who was beaming like and idiot.
They stepped out of the cottage and stood nearby the river to train
Hiccup was busy training on his own, practicing his skills. Waving his arms in the air he used his powers and he gathered several leaves from the nearby trees and made them dance around the air.
"Widen you stance" Oswald commanded as Jack spread his legs further apart in his horse stance "Wider" Oswald commanded"Bend those knees!" Jack followed unsurely "Now concentrate" Jack made a face of focus "Good, Good" Oswald muttered and began to walk away from Jack
"Wait, what do I do now?" he asked noticing him leaving
"SILENCE! talking is not concentrating, look at your friend! Is he talking?!NO!" He gestured to Hiccup "Even his goof of a brother knows how to concentrate" He pointed to Snotlout who was silently fishing near the river
"I heard that!" he snapped
Jack shook his head at the man "Alright, but what am I concentrating on?" he asked
Oswald held up his palm and gestured to the Sun "Feel the heat of the sun, It is the greatest source of power for a Summer Caster, breathe,... take in its light and warmth,...AND NO TALKING!" with that he left
Jack lowered his head in disappointment and breathed , then he heard the very obvious snickering of the brothers, he looked and glared at them before they immediately stopped.
Jack returned to his stance and silently began his concentration not before blushing a bright red at the simple fact his friends were watching him.
All of the so called training methods that came after that were just frustrating Jack. One was the stand around all day and just feel the sun, the next was just standing around all for the sake of standing around!. The final one was just stand on a mountain top and inhale and exhale for a good long time. So it's no surprise that he was so fed up about his current situation that he marched angrily back to Oswald's cottage and demand that the man actually do some real training.
"Okay Old man I've been doing your stupid breathing exercise for ages! what was it suppose to accomplish?!" his eyes began to twitch out of anger
"The light that a Summer Caster produces breathe's along with them, that is why you must master proper breath control" Oswald retorted
"But I'm tired of doing it!"
"YOU WANT TO STOP BREATHING?!"
"I WANT YOU TO STOP WASTING MY TIME!, I wanna know how to shoot sun blasts from my hands!" the tension in the semi-illuminated room was now very thick.
Taking a deep, deep breath Oswald began "I once had a pupil who had no interest in discipline, his only concern was power, he used it destroy all of his opponents and wipe out all that hinder his chances of success" Jack's expression began to soften as he calmed down and let him continue "That's why I was so reluctant to teach you, I made the mistake of not teaching control and regretted it every power of Summer is a horrible burden to bear, it's nature is to burn, without proper control it shall destroy everything" Oswald then looked him straight in the eye "Learn restraint or risk loosing everything you care about" it was a warning, one he hoped Jack would listen to
Jack began to sense the idea of what the guy was saying, so he calmly stood back up and quietly walked out of the room.
A few minutes later Oswald walked out of the cottage and found Jack meditating near the river, walking towards the silent teen he cleared his throat and made his presence know to him.
Jack took notice and looked to him "I thought about what you said,... I promise I'll be more patient" his voice was quiet and sincere
"Good, then you are ready to work with Sunlight now" Oswald confirmed
That was all it took Jack jumped from where he was sitting and began leaping for joy " OH yeah!" he then took notice of Oswald's expression and stopped "I mean...let us begin" he bowed.
Oswald then pulled something out, it was one of the glass spheres that Jack saw from the room earlier. He then produced a small sunball inside the glass and gave it to Jack "Focus, I want you to keep this sunball bright enough from going out, but not so much that it breaks it's container"
"Ughhh, I was expecting something a little more" Jack grumbled as he took the object and focused.
They were suddenly interrupted when Kai came running back into camp "Oswald we have trouble"
"What's going on?" Jack asked
"Focus on what you're doing!" Oswald snapped and followed Kai as they ran out of the woods
Hiccup taking notice of the look of annoyance in Jack's face "What's wrong?"
"He's the worst teacher ever!, All he does is leave me alone to do a bunch of stupid exercises!"
"I'm sure he has a good reason" he said trying to calm the fuming teen down
"But I'm ready for so much more" Jack then focused and placed both his palms on the glass sphere. He figured he might as well follow listen to the old man. But something was happening the more intently serious his efforts at containment the brighter the ball of light got. He grinned at the sudden realization of power and put more force in his efforts and the ball of light broke through the glass. It was now levitating on Jack's open palm as he laughed at the sight "I did it!, We have sunlight!"
Hiccup looked amazed at what he was seeing "That's great Jack!" He cheered, but as soon as he saw Jack fumbling with it, his amazement quickly turned to worry "Okay Jack be careful" He warned
But Jack didn't listen as he blasted some sunshots to the sky, He watched as the blasts streak across the sky in a bright path "Now that's some Summer Casting"
"Jack this isn't good idea, maybe you should slow down a bit" Hiccup was starting to notice the heat and brightness emanating from the sunball that was in Jack's hand. Jack continued to blasts some shots into the air completely ignoring his warning. "Jack you'll hurt yourself"
"I wonder how that magician did that trick" he thought out loud. He took a deep breath and made a quick spin while spreading out his arms scattering the the light throughout his surroundings. He smiled at the amazing and wonderful look that the scattered light created, that is until something incredibly blood chilling snapped him out of it.
"JACK!" an ear piercing scream echoed through his ears, he knew that voice all to well "AAHH!"
He looked to see where it was coming from and saw Hiccup trembling down in the grass while clutching his hands to his chest, and Jack could swear he could hear him sobbing.
"Hiccup!" He flew over to check on the boy
"Hiccup, what happened?!" Snotlout screamed, appearantly he heard the scream's too
Hiccup's breath was quick and small as he continued to cry and clutch his hands. His brother tried to soothe him by running his hand through the sobbing boys head. He watched as slowly Hiccup revealed his hands to them. His jaw dropped at the sight of Hiccup's severely burned palms "WHAT DID YOU DO!?" Snotlout roared to Jack.
"I-I didn't mean to, it was an accident, oh what have I done?..Hiccup - "Jack tried to find himself and calm himself down. But failed when he got a tackle from Snotlout
"I TOLD YOU NOT TO MESS AROUND WITH THIS, NOW LOOK AT WHAT YOU DID! HE"S BURNED!" He screamed to Jack's face.
Jack didn't even try to defend himself at the furious teen as he looked to Hiccup who was still furiously sobbing.
He couldn't believe at what he had done, he hurt Hiccup, Hiccup of all people!.
Guilt stricken he hung his head and shame and watched as the brunette continued to cry at the pain and run off.
Snotlout narrowed his eyes at Jack got off of him "You burned him!" he continued but when he saw Oswald return he stopped and directed his anger at the man "This is your fault!"
Oswald's expression was blank but clearly he knew what Snotlout was talking about "I know it is" He looked away unable to face Snotlout, he felt so much shame for what he had directly caused. "Quickly, a group of Summer Casters is steaming down the river, you must leave" He said.
Snotlout didn't drop the glare but 'hmph-ed' in response. He casted a quick look of anger at Jack "I'm sorry" he said Snotlout just closed his eyes and began to walk away "Snotlout wait!, I didn't mean to, I'm sorry" it was all in vain. Snotlout just tuned him out as he walked.
Jack lowered his head once more in disgrace over what he had done, and saw two feet set firmly on the ground. He looked up and saw Oswald standing there with a look of disappointment and anger on his face.
He couldn't blame them all. What he did was awful "I'm sorry" he mumbled. But just like Snotlout, Oswald gave him the same look of disappointment, before shaking his head and walking to the direction where Hiccup had gone.
For a moment Jack just stood there, still not believing what transpired a few moments ago, he tried to tell himself it was and accident, that it wasn't his fault. But that wasn't the truth, Hiccup was hurt and its all because of him. Realizing what he had done he continued to just lay there.
His eyes stung at the pain of crying and tears continued to burst from them. He stopped near the river and dipped his hands in it in a desperate attempt to soothe himself at the pain. Hiccup breathed deep and long breaths as he felt the cool liquid in his hands and relax at the feeling. The pain of the burn slowly going away.
"That's not gonna work"
He turned around and saw Oswald standing over him. "What?" he said
Oswald went over to him and took a hold of his hands "Here. Let me try something" He pulled out a small canteen like pouch from his vest and twisted the cap to open it. He then poured what looked like to be tree sap onto Hiccups hands. Hiccup had a look of confusion on his face, dumbfounded at what Oswald was doing. "Now concentrate a little bit"he requested.
Raising a brow at him, complied and closed his eyes. He could feel the cool stickiness of the substance in his hands as he did so. An ominous glow emanated from his hands and his eyes slowly fluttered open. He watched in awe as the sap momentarily dissolved onto his skin and the scars and burns from what Jack had done, disappear.
Hiccup's eyes went wide at what he saw "What just happened?"
"What I hoped would happen" Oswald stated
"Huh?"
"You have healing ability" He sat down beside Hiccup as he continued "Great Casters of the Autumn Tribes are sometimes able to do this" He looked away to the horizon and saw the setting sun "I always wished I was blessed like you" He looked down on his hands and made a tiny sunball "Instead I have to carry such a burning curse"
"You don't know what you're talking about, You're a master Summer Caster, you have powers I'll never know"
"No young man, you don't know what you're talking about. The power of Summer is a horrible burden to bear. It forces those who carry it to walk a razors edge between Humanity and... Savagery...-" he looked to Hiccup for a few moments before turning his head and stare at the flowing water of the river "...Eventually we are torn apart"
The moment of silence was broken when several shots of sunlight splashed through the river, and near the ground they were standing on. They both stood up in panic over what was happening. When the shot drew closer once more Oswald deflected them with his powers. Once they were clear Oswald and Hiccup saw a trio of small ships steaming down river towards them. Hiccup paled at what he saw, those were the boats of the Summer Nation.
"Go get your friends and flea!" Oswald commanded to Hiccup who gave a nod of agreement before running off. Oswald then turned to see the coming threat and braced himself for what was to follow.
Hiccup returned to camp almost breathless and found Snotlout in the middle of packing their things "There you are! Are you alright?!" Snotlout began fussing over his brother.
Hiccup reassuringly shook him off "I'm fine Snotlout" He looked around the camp for a little "Where's Jack? we need to get out of here"
Snotlout pointed to Oswald's cottage in response. Hiccup went to it and opened the door only to meet a very dark room who's only source of light was that of the outside penetrating through the open glass window. Hiccup could barely make the sight of Jack who had his back turned to him.
"Oswald tried to warn me"His voice was so low and sounded so...broken "But I didn't listen. I am never gonna Summer Cast again" He promised that.
Hiccup shook his head at what he heard then went to Jack and placed a hand on his shoulder "Jack you'll have to eventually"
"No. Never again"
"Jack" he began rubbing the boys back
"Hiccup. I hurt you" saying it and being reminded of it made him feel so horrible "You have no idea what that made me feel"
"It's okay Jack I'm healed"
"What?" His eyes snapped to Hiccup's face "How?"
"I'll explain later, right now we need to leave. Oswald's fending off a group of Summer Casters"
At this Jack stood up "What? Where!?"
"By the river"
"I need to help him!" he quickly went out of the room and ran as fast as he could.
Oswald stood firmly and unwaveringly before Alvin and his men. He glared at the sight of commander "Hello Alvin"he greeted but still clearly unhappy to see him.
"Hello Oswald, I think you have something I'm looking for" Alvin chuckled deviously implying Jack "Give him to me and I promise I will not hurt you"
"I am not about to let you get your hands on him!" Oswald lifted his arms and engulfed the space around his body in sunstreams getting ready to blast to Alvin.
The guards readied themselves to fire "Hold on men!" Alvin stopped them before they could. "Don't worry, my old teacher gave up fighting a long time ago" going closer to Oswald he stood directly in front of him, as if daring him to blast him. Oswald hesitated from firing, he tried too. He tried to fire those beams and knock Alvin out. But he couldn't, he just couldn't. He dropped his arms to his side and the sunstreams faded.
"Look at you" Alvin shook his head disapprovingly "You were once so great. I cannot believe my former master has become nothing more than a simple savage"
"No Alvin. It is you who have embraced savagery" He hissed while glaring daggers at the man's face
"It's admiral Alvin now" He replied with a chuckle
"That title will not help you against the Guardian!"
Alvin just chuckled in response "HA! I think I can more than handle a teenager"
"You cannot. I am warning you Alvin, I have never seen such raw power like his"
They stared at each other intently and coldly not believing what the other had to say over the subject. It wasn't until they heard Jack's incoming voice that snapped them out of it.
"Oswald!" Jack screamed for him
Alvin looked pleased at the sight "Men! seize the deserter!" He ordered to his troops and then looked to Jack "I'll take care of the Guardian" narrowing his eyes he prepared himself for Jack.
The group surrounded Oswald and pointed the end's of their spears at him. Oswald took a good look of the situation , carefully calculating his next move. He casted a quick smile to Jack before completely engulfing himself in a huge body of sunstreams. When they faded away the troops found he was no longer there. "Its a trick! he's run off into the woods! After him!" His men quickly dispersed in to the forest to search for Oswald. Leaving Alvin on his own.
Cracking his knuckles he assumed a stance to Jack "Let's see what my master has taught you" He said in a challenging tone.
"Wait? You were Oswald's student?!" Jack was flabbergasted
"I was"Alvin confirmed "until I got bored" with those few words, he lunged after Jack and blasted several sun shots at him. Jack leaped high to evade the blast. Clearly frustrated Alvin fired again only to have it evaded once more. "I see he taught you how to duck and run like a coward, but I doubt he taught you what a Summer Caster is really capable of!" He blasted a gigantic sun beam to Jack.
Jack narrowly escapes by dodging to the other side. "WHOA! what a wild shot!" he exclaimed.
"Ill Show you wild!" Alvin roared and fired some sunballs that were large in both size and numbers to Jack. The Guardian did his best to evade them by conjuring some winter winds to intercept them. Something caught his attention though, the forest immediately caught fire due to Alvin's attack. He looked at the fire and then to Alvin who had a dangerous leer focused on Jack. The Guardian began to get an idea in his head, no self control , he realized what he needed to do.
He flew a few good feet in front of Alvin "That's it?! I expected more than that" He kidded
"What are you blathering on about!?" Not believing Jack's ignorance
"You call yourself a real Summer Caster?! everyone must be really bad if you're the best!" he continued taunting Alvin. Enraged, the summer caster fired a huge sun beam at him, which Jack dodged gracefully.
"MAN!, they'd let anyone be an admiral these days!" Jack threw his hand to the back of his neck and walked around casually for a few moments. Gritting his teeth, clenching his fist, Alvin couldn't contain the boiling rage he felt as he fired once more to Jack. The teen laughed at the display as he dodged it once more "I don't know why,but I thought you'd be better than Merida!"
"YOU LITTLE BRAT!" He fired a huge number of sunballs to Jack which the teen evaded once again by flying in to the air. Alvin was enraged and furious at the situation. He screamed in to the air clearly very frustrated at what Jack was doing to him. Alvin watched closely as the teen slowly descended back to the ground and to his level.
"I won this fight" Jack stated
"What on earth are you talking bout?! you haven't fired or landed a single attack!"
Jack smirked at him and put one hand on his hips "No I haven't. But you have" Jack gestured to the direction of Alvin's vessels. The Summer Caster looked to what the teen was pointing to and was shocked to see that his ships have been burned and blasted to pile of ashes. He closed his eyes and inwardly growled at himself while clenching his fists in order to contain himself. He could not believe what just happened, he was played for a fool,...by a teenager nonetheless.
"Oswald said you lacked any control" Jack chuckled before flying away.
Leaving a very angry Alvin in the aftermath of his fury. "HAAAHHH!"He roared in frustration as he blasted the ships once more clearly not caring for their use anymore.
Jack laughed at the sight "Have a nice walk home!"
"Jack! come on let's go!" Snotlout screamed for his friend who was already in midair flying the bison yeti. Jack flew to them and landed on the saddle as Snotlout flew them.
Jack took a deep breath as he tried to relax himself after what he had just been through "Wait, what about Oswald?" he asked them
"Its okay Jack" Hiccup reassured him "He managed to get away, both him and Kai" He gave Jack a pleasant smile. The white haired teen blushed faintly at the sight of Hiccup's sweet freckled face smile "You're burned" Hiccup stated. Jack looked down at his sleeve and saw his clothes torn by the battle and his flesh burned. "Here let me" Hiccup took a hold of Jack's arm and pulled out a pouch. He twisted the cap at the end of it and poured its contents into his hand. It was tree sap, the kind he used (well, the kind Oswald showed him to use) to heal his hands. With that he focused on the sap in his hands and it glew and orangey color which he pressed onto Jack's burn. After a few moments of rubbing the arm he let go and both him and Jack found it to be completely healed.
"Whoa, where'd you learn that?"Jack questioned
Hiccup gave a shrug of his shoulders as a response "I guess I kind of always known" He said
A moment of silence passed between the two as they continued to fly. The both of them were just in awkward silence before Jack spoke up "Hiccup, again I'm sorry that I-"
"Jack its okay" Hiccup interrupted him "You didn't mean it, it was an accident" he placed his hand on Jack's shoulder
"Hiccup you don't understand I-" Jack tried once more
"Jack" Hiccup said softly stopping the other teen in his talking. Jack turned and saw Hiccup giving him the sweet freckled face smile which he loved to see so much
"It's okay"
Jack let a smile form across his face. With the he nodded to Hiccup as a sign he understood. The two teens continued to look at each other clearly not noticing Snotlout who was looking at them shaking his head dejectedly at them "Oh Byakko! Just kiss already!"
Okay so that took longer than expected! okay so I'm not expecting much out of this but it's up to you! whether or not I can update as quick as possible that's up to you!.
