Chapter 10

After a few more moments of staring at the damaged hole in the door, Mavis quickly made up her mind on what to do.

"Uh… I'm gonna go check on him and see if he's alright." Mavis said, she turned to her old friend. "Gill you come with me."

Gill nodded. "Yeah."

"Yes, yes, you two do that while I attend to our new… guest." Dracula said slowly while Gill and Mavis headed through the door that Johnny quite literally ran right through. Dracula then turned his attention to Mina. "Uh… hello there. I am Count Dracula and Welcome to Hotel Transylvania!"

"Wow! So you're the Count Dracula I've heard so much about!" Mina said in awe. She shook his pale hand. "It's really an honor to meet you, sir!"

"Oh, thank you!" Dracula said, flattered. "It seems my illustrious reputation precedes me!"

The others merely rolled their eyes at this.

"Anyway, these are my friends; Murray the Mummy, Wayne and Wanda the werewolf's, Frankenstein and his wife Eunice…" Dracula began as he introduced his friends, who all wave at her. "And the Invisible Man… what where'd he go?"

The others look around but couldn't see him anyway, until Mina suddenly yelped in surprised.

"Who touched my posterior!" Mina cried in alarm. A pair of floating glasses appeared beside her.

"Sorry, force of habit, it's nice to meet you cutie." The Invisible Man said as he kissed Mina's hand.

"Oh wow! The real Invisible Man!" Mina squealed. "Say if I stuck my hand in your mouth will it disappear?"

"Yeah… something tells me Johnny dated this girl once…" Frank remarked.

"That's for sure!" Murray nodded.

"What a nice girl!" Wanda smiled. "I wonder why Johnny was so scared of her?"

"Who knows? Who cares? He's with Mavis now and that girl is just gonna have to deal with it." Wayne stated bluntly. "So… who wants to tell her?"

The others all turn away and began whistling innocently.

"Well I am very glad you could and stay for Johnny and Mavis' wedding Mina, shall I get one of the armor's to show you to your room?" Dracula asked.

"Yes, please! And please tell Johnny I said 'Hi!' I really want to see him again!" Mina told him eagerly.

"Yes, yes, of course…" Dracula said slowly, he turned to one of the armors. "Please take his young girl to her room."

The Suit of Armor saluted him, "Yes, sir!"

The armor grabbed Mina's bags and began to lead her away and out of the room.

"My, and I thought Johnny was this nice…" Dracula remarked, intrigued. "Anyone know why he ran off like that?"

The other monsters just shook their heads.

"So you think Mavis and Gill will be able to get him to tell them?" Wanda wondered. "He seemed to be too scared to even talk about her…"

"Oh come on! How scared of her can he be?" Eunice asked.

Meanwhile Mavis was dashing down each of the hallways and rooms, looking for Johnny but could find no sign of him anywhere.

"Johnny! Johnny!" she called out.

"Mav, I found him!" Gill shouted from another room. Mavis dashed down a hall and entered a room that looked to be some kind of office, Gill was already there waiting for her. She also didn't see Johnny there.

"Where's Johnny?" she asked.

Gill pointed to behind him. "There," he replied.

Mavis turned in that general direction and saw that Johnny was n the corner, sitting and sucking his thumb.

"Johnny, you ok?" Mavis asked, concerned as she slowly approached her fiancé. Gill approached him as well.

"Dude! What's wrong with you?" Gill exclaimed.

The young vampire bent down and gently touched Johnny's tense shoulders, which made him jump and squeal a bit.

"Hey, hey, it's, it's ok… it's just me." Mavis said to him comfortingly.

Johnny turned slightly and when he saw Mavis' face he calmed down a bit. "Oh… it's you… are you guys alone?" he asked.

"Yes…" Gill said slowly.

"Oh good…" Johnny said, relieved as he got up. "I almost thought you brought her with you."

"Who is 'her' anyway?" Mavis questioned.

"Did you date her?" Gill added.

"Well… yeah, long before you Mav." Johnny told his fiancée, while he tapped his fingertips together in a slightly nervous way. "Me and Mina were quite an item back then… until I pretty much dumped her…"

"Why?" Gill asked.

"It's a long, long story…" Johnny said.

This didn't seem good enough for Mavis, she wanted more. She folded her arms and gave Johnny a serious look. "Well we got time," she said.

"Well when we first started dating it was awesome but then get very, very clingy... and when I finally did lose her I started traveling the world mostly to see all I could see AND to get as far away from her as possible!" Johnny explained.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Mavis asked, a bit hurt that Johnny kept it a secret for so long.

"Uh… because…" Johnny began to say, then he looked at her with a serious yet loving look on his face. "Because when I zinged with you I forgot all about her…"

Mavis smiled, deeply touched. "Aw…" she said as Johnny pushed a bang of her ebony black hair over her ear.

"And also… I really didn't want you to get hurt or jealous or anything like that…" Johnny admitted. "But… like I said now that she's found me…"

"But Mister Dracula can just erase her memory and tell her to leave, easy." Gill said.

"Oh no dude, it is NOT gonna be that easy to get rid of her! Not at all! She's relentless! EVIL!" Johnny exclaimed, while grabbing shaking Gill, stressed.

"Cool it chum!" Gill cried, as he shoved Johnny back, clearly annoyed.

"But… but seems so nice…" Mavis said.

"Yeah? Wait till you get to know her… I'm telling you, it's like I can sense her... AHH!" Johnny suddenly screamed. Mavis and Johnny turned and saw Mina standing at the door entrance. He continued to scream then ran over to another door and kicked it down before running off. Both Gill and Mavis were stunned, Mina walked in confused.

"Johnny? Johnny!" she called out, but all she got back was a scream. She turned to Gill and Mavis innocently. "Why did he run away?"

"Uh… he thinks all cowboys are out to get him because of some dream…" Gill smiled nervously.

"Oh… ok!" Mina said with a smile.

Mavis walked over to her, smiling. "Hi, I'm Mavis Dracula," she said, holding out her hand. "Johnny's current girlfriend."

"Oh. A vampire… Cool!" Mina continued to smile, as she shook Mavis's hand.

"Thanks!" Mavis said, although she did winced a bit after the end of her last sentence, as if Mina's was squeezing her hand too hard. She pulled herself back and Gill grabbed her shoulders to hold her steady.

"Dude, what is with her face? Why is she still smiling?" Gill whispered gesturing to Mina's still seemingly innocent smile.

Gill then noticed Mina was looking at him weird and smiled nervously. "Uh… I'm Gill Lagoon, nice to meet you," he said as he shook her hand as well.

"Likewise!" she chirped. "So… do you know where Johnny went?"

"Uh… I don't know." Gill shrugged.

"Nope, not at all!" Mavis added, quickly.

Mina raised a brow. "You guys aren't hiding anything from me are you?" she asked.

"We're not hiding anything, we're not even hiding our true appearances that you see before you and we're monsters! Right Mav?" Gill asked, glancing towards Mavis.

"Yep, nothing to hide, nothing at all…" Mavis agreed, smiling nervous and holding her arms behind her back.

Mina looked at both of them closely with a suspicious look in her eyes, both Mavis and Gill leaned back away from her, clearly freaked out and disturbed. They exchange glances and turn back to Mina's gaze. After a few short minutes she instantly brightens up.

"Okey, dokey! Just tell when you find him!" Mina told them, before she began to leave. "It was nice meeting you Mavis! Oh and you too Gill."

Mavis and Gill watched her leave with somewhat disturbed looks on both their faces.

"I think maybe we should keep a close eye on her… just in case Johnny was telling the truth." Mavis added.

"Yoo-hoo! Johnny! Where are you?" Mina called out from the hallway in a sing-song voice.

"Yeah a close eye would probably be a good idea…" Gill agreed. They both gaze at the door Johnny ran out and the door Mina exited with weary looks on their faces.
