"Dr. Robbins?" Arizona heard the woman call from inside her child's room.
"Yes, Mrs. Mayer, what can I do for you?" Arizona answered gently.
"Please, Dr. Robbins. I've told you call me Marta." The woman smiled weakly.
"Is everything ok, Marta? Is Samantha the same?" Arizona looked inside the room towards the girl who was sleeping. She could see that the machines connected to her showed that the girl was stable.
"Yeah... It's just..." Arizona waited that Marta completed the phrase. "Are you sure about this?"
Arizona sighed. "Marta, I know this is difficult for you. I've always been honest with you and I always will be. Nothing has really changed in terms of finding a cure for Samantha's illness. She's been fighting so hard, and it's been over two years now. Right now, this is the best chance to continue to help to keep her alive..." Marta sobbed. Arizona loved her job, but she hated it at times too. It was heartbreaking when she couldn't cure a patient. "I'm sorry, Marta. She's done so well... she's a strong girl. She needs this chance." Arizona tried to comfort the terrified mother.
"I know... But I'm scared Dr. Robbins, she's my baby girl. She's my everything!"
"I'm know you're scared, and I promise you I'm doing all I can. If I wasn't sure about this surgery, I wouldn't suggest it. I think we have the chance to give her a few months and if the surgery is successful we'll have a little more time. However, if you don't want it, we just wait."
"Is it a risky surgery?" Marta asked, even though she knew the answer.
"All surgeries have some degree of risk. I admit, this surgery is very complex and Samantha's condition doesn't help. But if we don't try, she definitely won't have any chance. It's truly our only option."
Tears rolled down Marta's cheek. "So you think that we should choose the surgery..."
"I'm saying that's is a complicated procedure, but not having it is equally risky." As a doctor Arizona couldn't tell Marta what to do. All she could do was be honest and provide her with as much information as possible so she could make an informed choice for her child.
Marta nodded. "Ok." The words came out almost a whisper. "I'll see you tomorrow, Dr. Robbins."
Arizona kept walking when she heard another voice calling her. But this one made her smile every time she heard it.
"Arizona." The voice was soft and kind.
"Hey, what're you doing over here?" Arizona asked playfully.
"I was looking you, actually." Callie held Arizona's hand.
"I'm glad you found me." Arizona couldn't help but smile when she was with Callie.
"I'm making lasagna tonight, and I wanted know if that's ok for you." They had developed a routine of having dinner together almost every night.
"Oh... I can't tonight. I'm sorry."
"Why?" Callie questioned, her voice sharper than she intended.
"I have a surgery early tomorrow morning and I want go to bed early. Do you remember Sammy? I've told you about her?" Callie nodded. Arizona had spoken about Sammy many times and Callie knew that the girl was special to her. "I'm operating on her tomorrow."
"I thought she wasn't stable enough for that."
"Her recent tests are a little better. I think we've got our best chance now. We may not get another, sadly..."
"You're amazing. You'll be great." Arizona smiled at Callie's encouragement. "I could drive you home after dinner. Even better, you could stay the night."
"I'm sorry honey, not this time."
Callie sighed. "Ok..." Callie said. Arizona couldn't help but notice the disappointment lacing her girlfriend's voice.
"Hey, Callie, come on, I swear I'd love to spend time with you. But Teddy needs me and then I want to be able to rest and you know if I'm with you I don't want leave you..."
"You don't have to. I have a big and comfy bed. I mean, I know it's not as comfy as yours but it's ok, right?"
"Your bed is great because you're in it... however you know I don't like stay when..."
"I know, I know... when Sofia is home..." Callie completed Arizona's sentence.
"At least for now, Ok?"
"Ok..."
Arizona gave Callie a quick kiss. "Thank you for understanding, honey."
"And, what happened with Teddy?" Callie asked when remembered that Arizona mentioned her a few minutes ago.
"She's flying to NY tomorrow noon. Henry got worse." Arizona said sadly.
"Oh, and how is she?"
"You know... she trying to pretend that she ok, but I know she's not... so I want to be there for her this time. She's been there for me since I got sick and I lost my memory. She's such a good friend and I want help her."
"Sweetie, it's fine. Ok? Go with her." Callie squeezed Arizona's hand.
"Thanks. I'll come over to your place tomorrow after I get Teddy to the airport. Can you put away some lasagna for me?"
Callie laughed. "Don't worry, I'm sure Sofia will ask me do that for you."
"Sofia is wonderful. I'll thank her later. Maybe I can treat her to a movie night..."
"I'm sure she'd love that."
"I have to go now." Arizona said timidly. "I have patients to see before I leave for the night... Sorry."
"Will you call me when you get home?"
"Absolutely."
###########################
As Arizona entered the hospital, she felt the usual nervous anxiety she normally experienced prior to performing a complex procedure. Although surgeries all had things in common, they were also each unique in their own way. She was always aware that each child she was operating on was a unique individual - a person with a family, and dreams and goals. She recognized that each that each time she was in the O.R. she had a life in her hands, and the nerves she experienced beforehand were a way of remembering the seriousness of the responsibility she was taking on. She fought tirelessly for her tiny humans. When she took the scapel into her hands, she was able to use her initial nerves as fuel to hep her be the talented, confident surgeon people knew her to be.
Arizona walked towards the lockers so she could change and do rounds before Samantha's surgery. She had asked a resident the night before to do the necessary tests to prep the little girl for the OR. She had seen the initial results but she wanted to be absolutely sure that everything was right and nothing had changed.
"Dr. Robbins, good morning. I need to talk you." The chief interrupted her whiel she was reading over the charts.
"Good morning sir. I'm sorry, but I've got a surgery in thirty minutes. Shall I come and see you when I'm done in the O.R, later?" Arizona asked, surprised that he hadn't checked the whiteboard to see if she had procedures scheduled for the morning.
"No. I need you come with me, please." His tone was firm.
"Sir, Ms. Mayer is waiting for me to take her daughter to the OR."
"Dr. Robbins, I've already talked to Mrs. Mayer, and now I'd like to speak to you. Am I making myself clear?"
"Yes, sir." Arizona bit her lip to stop herself from saying something inappropriate. "I hope you have a good reason to delay the surgery, sir." Dr. Xanders just looked her and guided her until his office.
The first thing she noticed when she entered the office was that wasn't empty.
"Please, sit down Dr. Robbins. I'm sure you remember Dr. Boyd."
Arizona stared at him blankly, as she was filled with a mix of astonishment and anger. She knew instinctively that something was wrong. It was bad enough that the Chief had cancelled today's surgery, but the sight of Adam in the office filled her with dread. "Of, course I remember him. Adam, what's happening?"
"Dr. Robbins, I suggest you take seat." Sanders interrupted. Once Arizona was seated he continued. "As you know, Dr. Boyd is a renowned psychiatrist. He's been in charge of your treatment for many years now and - "
"He was sir. Hee was my psychiatrist but he's not anymore." Arizona corrected him sharply.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I looked into yours files and I didn't find the name of your actual doctor. So, Dr Robbins, could you tell me who is overseeing your treatment?" He started to turn the pages in her file.
"I don't need a psychiatrist at this time. Dr. Boyd can tell you that, sir." When Adam remained silent Arizona turned to him. "Adam, tell the chief that I don't need psychiatric treatment."
"I'm sorry, Arizona." Adam said with fake guilt.
"What!? Adam, please! This is serious..."
"You're right, this is serious. Dr. Robbins, you know well how serious your medical condition is. You had an agreement with the hospital. I'm sure I don't need to remind you that you have cancer, Arizona. You're a surgeon with a brain tumor."
"Of course I remember that, I remember every single day."
"It's important that you receive correct treatment - "
"And I'm doing!"
"Dr. Robbins, calm down. You need a comprehensive treatment plan. It's not enough that you are seeing an oncologist to treat the physical aspects of your tumour. You need support for the emotional impact of the disease as well. You know the stress your profession brings. Given that, it's vital that you have the outlet of counselling to help you cope with the demands on you, both professionally and as a cancer patient."
"With all due respect sir, I don't think I need it."
"You're wrong. You have a heavy responsibility with your patients, Dr. Robbins as I have it with their parents. It's my responsibility to ensure that I have competent surgeons here to treat their children."
"What're you trying to say? That I'm not competent?" Arizona couldn't hide the anger.
"I'm saying that by not taking care of your emotional health, you could be putting patients' lives at risk, and I won't have that in my hospital."
"You can't be serious! I have never done anything that could put any child in danger." She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. "I love my job, and I would never do nothing to risk the well-being of my patients. I follow my treatment to the letter and I have regular check ups. Any time I have felt unwell either delayed surgeries, or had a senior resident perform it under my guidance... I swear I never could..." Arizona felt a lump forming in her throat. She was being accused of being negligent, and she was angry.
"This is the point, Dr. Robbins. You knew you needed a psychiatrist and you stopped treatment. You've gone into the O.R. at times when you've not been feeling 100%. I can't allow you do that."
"That's not true."
"Dr. Boyd warned me about your condition. He think you're psychologically weak, and you're having harmful behaviors and because of that your latest tests had unexpected results. ou know how important the mind is in these cases…"
Arizona remained in silent a few seconds. "What have you told him?!" The question was directed at Adam.
"Nothing but the truth." Adam said calmly, enjoying the situation.
"Adam, I swear if you .. "
"Dr. Robbins! Threats against Dr. Boyd won't help your situation. He did the correct thing. As your doctor he's trying to help you. How would you feel if a child died because of you?"
"This is not fair, sir. I haven't done anything wrong..." She looked again at Adam. "Is this because I didn't want to date you? Is it because of my relationship with Callie? Because, believe me, I've felt happier and safer with her than I have ever felt with you. You had years and she only needed months... " Arizona knew she was provoking him, but she was upset, and after all, it was the truth.
"Dr. Robbins, enough! Don't make me regret bringing you to work in this hospital." Dr. Sanders interrupted.
"I'm professional, Arizona. This is not about your adventures, this is about your health"
"Adventures? This's not an adventure, Dr. Boyd, Dr. Torres is my girlfriend. You know that." Arizona corrected him.
"See, you're confused. You need time to process your illness and the way it affects your life, your work.. This is not you, Arizona, and I'm worried." Adam tried to hold Arizona's hand.
Arizona pulled her hand away brusquely and looked at Adam with rage. She breathed deeply, trying to calm down. "Worried" Arizona repeated. "I think you're right to be worried. But isn't me who you should be worried about, Adam... Over these years you've treated me as if I'm weak, as though I couldn't do anything without your help. But you know what? You're wrong... I'm not weak. I'm not weak anymore Adam, and I'll fight. Because, this? We both know that this is a dirty trick and I won't let you get away with it." Arizona was staring at Adam. He didn't say a word. "Maybe my decision to leave treatment wasn't the best, but what about your behavior, Adam? Do you think the Board will consider your actions acceptable? Do you really think that the Hospital will risk it's reputation for you?" Arizona smiled, defiant. She knew Adams was nervous, even though he was doing his best to hide it.
"Arizona, I - "
Arizona turned to her boss, not allowing Adam to finish his sentence. He had nothing to tell that she wanted to hear and she didn't want Adam to have an opportunity to try to take control of the situation again. She wanted him to stay nervous.
Then she turned to Sanders. "Ok, I'll restart treatment with another psychiatrist. Please, sir, just please let me do this surgery. This girl little girl needs this surgery and she shouldn't lose out due to this disagreement with Dr. Boyd..."
Sanders glanced at Adam, who had a doubtful expression. "I'm sorry Dr. Robbins. As if today I'm putting you on leave. You won't be able to practice medicine in this hospital again until I'm confident you're receiving appropriate psychiatric treatment.
"This is outrageous! You're railroading me because Dr. Boyd is jealous of my girlfriend!" Arizona yelled.
"Dr. Robbins, believe me, I hate this situation as much as you do. Please don't do it worse. I'm protecting the patients of this hospital.
"Protecting patients? From who? Me? This is insane! You can't do that!"
"Of course I can. We'll discuss your return when I have documentation that you're under the care of a psychiatrist. Rest, Arizona. I know you've needed days because you didn't feel well. Now you'll have that time. Use it. This is the best you can do right now. Cancer's patients need lots of rest. I am amazed that you've been able to continue with your work this long."
Arizona stood. She couldn't believe what just had happened. She couldn't operate. She couldn't see her tiny humans... She was losing everything she had, because her job was her life...
Desperately, she fought back tears. The last thing she would do was give Adam the satisfaction of seeing her break down. Calmly, she asked, "Sir. I'd like to at least be able to observe in the OR and follow up on my patients' progress."
"I'm sorry, Dr. Robbins. I don't think that's a good idea."
"Sir, please! Someone has to do the surgery on Samantha Mayer"
"Her mother doesn't want another doctor. She asked to have her daughter discharged. They're leaving the Hospital now."
Arizona rushed to leave the room. She couldn't breathe. She wanted to cry, or to hit something. She needed to find Mrs. Mayer.
"Dr. Robbins." Sanders called her. "I'm sorry." Even though he seemed sincere, she couldn't forgive him, not right now.
When she was out the room, Xanders watched Adam, who remained silent. "I hope you're right, Adam. She's an excellent surgeon."
"We're friends, you know me..."
"I do know you, Adam. I know you very well. That's why I'm asking again..."
####################
Arizona ran through the halls as her life depended on it. She didn't see Callie standing at the nurse's station talking, but the brunette noticed she was upset and called out to her. Even as Callie called more loudly, Arizona didn't hear her. She couldn't focus on her. She couldn't talk. She couldn't feel...
"Mrs. Mayer! Marta!" Arizona said, trying to recover her breath.
"Dr. Robbins, are you ok?" Marta asked, concerned when saw Arizona gasping for air.
"Yes... I'm sorry... I'm so, so sorry..."
"Why are you apologizing, Dr. Robbins?"
"They don't ... I'm not..." She didn't know even how to start to explain.
"I know. You chief told me. You don't have any reason to be sorry."
"I never wanted hurt at Sammy."
"You didn't hurt me, Arizona. I feel better, don't I, mom?" The girl said innocently, which made Arizona smile.
"What? Dr. Robbins, don't let they win. You're brilliant and honorable, you're incredible... there are kids who need you. Fight for them." Arizona sobbed. "Remember when you told me about your tumor?" Arizona nodded. "So, do you remember what I've told you?"
"Everything happens for a reason"
Marta smiled. "Well, there's a reason for this, too..."
"How can you think that, Marta? I was supposed to operate on Sammy today and we don't know..."
"And now, you won't. Because God doesn't want it to happen today. I bet he has something better planned for us... I need to believe that. If I didn't, I wouldn't be able to keep fighting. "
"Some else can do the procedure." Arizona pointed out. As much as she hated the thought of handing Sammy's care over to another surgeon, she knew she had to suggest it.
"No... Do you know why I have hope?, It's because of you. You'll do it."
"I'm not allowed, Marta. I can't"
"Just for now... I'm sure that everything will be fine soon."
"Can I go home now, Arizona?"
"Yes, sweetie, you can. Be good for mom, ok?"
"I will, I promise." Arizona knelt and hugged the girl whom was sitting in the car.
"Marta, please, call me whatever you need, anything, ok? You have my number... Take care... Arizona hugged Marta. "I'm sorry this happened today..." Arizona whispered.
"Take care, Dr. Robbins. Thank you for everything you've done. You're our angel."

"Dr. Altman, do you have a minute?" Callie asked Teddy, who was in the middle of a surgery.
Teddy looked up, bewildered. Why was Callie asking for a minute when she knew that she was trying to save a life? "Dr. Torres, is it an emergency? Because I'm a little busy here as you can see. I can talk to you before go the airport."
"It's Dr. Robbins." That was all Teddy needed to hear. The Callie's voice was full of concern, and it worried her. "What about her?"
"I don't know" The fact was that Callie didn't know anything.
"What do you mean you don't know? You're interrupting my surgery, Dr. Torres, so please tell me what happened with Dr. Robbins..."
"I can't find her. I looked for her everywhere..."
"And why are you concerned? Have you checked the OR? She had a surgery and.."
"It was cancelled, and I saw her running and I swear she was..." Callie stopped herself. The others didn't need to know that Arizona was crying.
"Roxie the Ped's nurse told me she was fired." A resident spoke weakly.
"What?" Teddy and Callie said in unison. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"You didn't ask, Dr. Altman." The young doctor explained.
"Shit." Teddy sighed, trying to think. "Go to the park. Do you know it? The one that's three blocks from here."
"Yes, I think I know."
"She likes to go there to think"
"Thank you." Callie turned to the door.
"Dr. Torres, keep me posted." Teddy didn't take her eyes off her patient.
"I will." With that Callie left the OR.
Callie walked for over twenty minutes until she saw Arizona. She was sitting on a bench, a blank stare on her face. It was obvious she had been crying.
"Can I sit here?" Callie asked softly and didn't wait for an answer.
A second later Arizona was embracing Callie tightly, as she collapsed in tears. It shattered Callie's heart. "Shhh, baby... It's ok..." Callie kissed Arizona's head over and over again. "Everything is fine... don't cry, please."
"He told I could be a danger to kids, Callie" Arizona managed to say between sobs.
"What? Arizona, don't ever believe that bullshit." Arizona needed ten minutes to stop crying. "Do you feel any better?" Callie asked concerned and took away a lock of Arizona's eyes. Arizona nodded and Callie kissed her forehead.
"Adam told chief I need a psychiatrist treatment." Arizona said barely audible.
Her head was resting on Callie's chest while the soft Callie's hands caressing her cheeks. "If I don't I won't be allow to operate again..."
"We'll find and excellent doctor, you'll see."
"I'm not crazy, Callie." Arizona felt hurt when she heard Callie in agreement to find a psychiatrist.
"I've never said that, Arizona. And I don't think either he, did. As doctors too, we use recommend that kind of treatment for - "
Arizona sat herself up suddenly. "Are you on their side?" She yelled angrily.
"No, Arizona, here aren't sides... I'm trying to help you..." Callie sighed frustrated. She didn't want to fight with Arizona but she knew Arizona would be in the verge of nerves and wouldn't be easy.
"I'm sorry." Arizona said ashamed. She knew Callie was nothing but supportive for her.
Callie smiled and squeezed Arizona's hand. "It's ok."
Another couple of minutes passed in comfortable silence. "Callie?"
"Yeah?"
"What will I do?"
"What do you mean, honey?"
"If I can't be a surgeon anymore... what would I do?" Arizona looked into Callie's eyes as she was trying to find the answer.
"That won't happen." Callie asseverated.
"You can't know it." Arizona's voice showed sadness and pain. Arizona always was a rational person and she had awareness her health could easily take her away from surgeries. She always knew. She just was hoping that moment was as distant future as possible. And this new events was bringing that future near. Too close.
"You're right, maybe I can't know, but I know that we'll fight for it."
"We'll fight..." Arizona repeated it and looked down.
"I've already told you, Arizona. You're not alone on this. I'm with you." She gently grabbed Arizona's chin and forced her to watch her up. " . . Do you understand?" Callie said lovingly. " We'll do something. We can hire a lawyer and go against them, we can - "
"I don't want a lawyer, Callie. I want my job..." Arizona's words were almost a beg. The tears formed in her eyes. "But what's if I - "
Callie stopped her by keep talking. "If that happens, and just if that happens, thing I'll do all I can to not happens... " Callie breathed to collected herself. "so you could teach. You're a great teacher and you have too much knowledge to transmit." Even though Callie knew the hospital was in the wrong and her girlfriend was being railroaded, she realized that now was not the time to be talking about a legal battle. Right now, all that mattered was Arizona. Callie needed to try to find the way to calm her down.
Arizona shook her head. "I couldn't do that, Callie. I was born to be in the OR. Just teach never would be enough to me, you know it well."
Callie sighed. Arizona was right. "So, you'll find another thing to do."
Arizona laughed. "Like what? Callie, I'm in my thirties. What do you suppose I could do?"
Callie smiled. Arizona's laugh was music to her ears. "So? You can do whatever you want. If you can't work as surgeon you could try anything... I'm sure you'll be amazing no matter what you decide to try…"
Arizona grinned. "For example?"
"Well... what about a lawyer?"
"No... That needs too much study."
"Arizona, you're a surgeon, you're used to studying. And let me say I think you were a nerd."
"I wasn't" Callie frowned. "Maybe a little..."
"See? I told you."
"I'm not sure I'd like to be a lawyer."
"Ok, an actress!"
"Mmmm, I'll have to kiss some men and maybe women too. Well. that could - "
"Forget it! No kisses for you. Except for mine, of course." They kissed tenderly. Callie was trying to cheer her up. And it seemed to be working. "Race car driver - poker player - Detective -" Arizona continued shaking her head. "Singer - Writer - Nursemaid. I know! Kindergarten teacher!"
"Mmmm, not sure..."
"We could spend the whole day looking something for you. No matter what you do, I know you'll be the best at it." Callie smiled at her.
"Ride bulls." Arizona spilled out.
"What?"
"I think I could ride bulls."
"No way, that would be dangerous, I don't want you with all your bones broken because an animal smashed you. Although you could wear a nice hat and boots... I'd love seeing you in that outfit... You would be my cowgirl…" Arizona grinned.
"My girlfriend is the best orthopedic surgeon in the country..." Arizona said playfully.
"That's the reason she wouldn't be able to work on you."
"Right... so, never mind." Arizona held Callie's face with her hands. "Thank you, Callie. I don't know what I would do it without you..." She kissed Callie's lips.
"Thankfully, you won't never will have to figure it out."
"Ok, I should go to find Teddy, It's supposed I take her to the airport. It's getting late ..."
"I'll go with you." Callie said and help Arizona to stand up.
"That's not necessary, honey. I'll come over later."
"No. I don't want you drive in this condition, Arizona."
"But, Callie, I'm fine, really, I - "
"No, buts. We'll pick up Sofia and them get Teddy. After the airport we'll go home, you'll rest and then you can play with Sof while I cook. Ok?"
"Ok." Arizona knew Callie wouldn't take no for an answer. "But I'll do the dishes."
"We'll see.. maybe if you agree to spend the night so I can take care of you and ..."
"Ok."
"Ok?" Callie was amazed. Arizona usually protested when Callie said she wanted to take care of her.
"I think that will be good for me some hugs and kisses... and it's past time for Sofia to know that we're girlfriends... so, Ok."
"Arizona, we'll fix this. I promise." Arizona just nodded and started to walk hand in hand with Callie.
####################
Arizona spent the night at Callie's home. Just as Callie promised, she made dinner while Arizona played with Sofia. When Callie told her that Arizona was staying the night because she had a tough day at work, Sofia seemed worried. Once she was reassured that Arizona was ok, she started to jump around, overjoyed. She was thrilled to have Arizona staying with them. Sofia had asked for that several times in the past but Arizona had always refused.
When Arizona and Callie were alone in the bedroom, Arizona couldn't help reflecting on all that had happened and she burst into tear again. Callie held her for almost an hour while Arizona cried. Callie was thankful that she was there to try to comfort Arizona, even though there was nothing that Callie could do to calm her down. She soothed Arizona and rubbed her back until she fell asleep, exhausted. Callie needed to do something for her girlfriend... for her love...
Sofia, just like her mother, was a sleepyhead, so Arizona offered to bring Sofia to daycare at noon. That way Sofia didn't need to wake her up early.
Once she dropped the little girl off at daycare, Arizona tried to find a resident who could give her an update on her patients. However, all of them had been warned by the Chief so they were reluctatnt to say much. She didn't want to cause problems for the residents, so she dropped her questions. Maybe Callie could keep her informed without get into trouble. Callie was nothing but unconditionally supportive of her so Arizona knew she would help if she could. But she wouldn't let her girlfriend take unnecessary risks. She didn't deserve to lose her job, even though it was only a temporary job. The reminder that Callie wouldn't be there forever pained Arizona and let the idea go for the moment.
"Dr. Robbins, here are your tests." The young doctor extended his hand towards Arizona.
"I didn't request any tests. Actually you could be in trouble if the chief sees you."
James seemed confused. "Why? These are yours."
"What do you mean?" Arizona looked at the papers in her hands. Her name was written on them. These were her tests.
"Why do you have this, James?" Arizona asked curtly.
"Your doctor asked for them, I couldn't find them so I told her I'd give them to her later." James was nervous. Arizona never addressed someone as abruptly as she was speaking now.
"Dr. Evans already has them. I don't understand why she need another copy."
"It wasn't Dr. Evans, Dr. Robbins. It was the new doctor."
"What? Who asked for these?"
"Dr. Torres."
Now, Arizona was mad. Callie betrayed her confidence. She had never granted her girlfriend permission to look at her test results. "Thank you, James." Arizona walked away. She needed to find Callie.
"How could you?" Callie heard Arizona's voice. She turned to see Arizona standing in her doorway.
"Hey, honey. Is everything ok?" Callie kept looking Arizona, who was motionless.
"How could you?" Arizona repeated when Callie ignored her question.
"What are you talking about, Arizona?"
"I'm talking about this!" Arizona pointed to the file with the test results..
"Arizona, I'm sorry. I - "
"You what? You what, Callie?, You decided you could take my test results without my permission?"
"Arizona, we talked about this..." Callie approached but Arizona stepped back.
"No!, I said I'd think about it. I think..."
"Arizona, I know you're upset by the situation, but I just was trying to help..."
"I don't want your help! I don't want anyone's help! I can make my own decisions!"
"I'm sorry, ok? I'm sorry. Please calm down, Arizona. This isn't good for you Please..." Callie said with concern.
"Stop! Stop worrying about me! I don't need a nanny!"
Callie couldn't bear Arizona's anger anymore. "A nanny, Arizona? A nanny?, Is that what you think I'm trying to be for you?"
"You betrayed me, Callie!"
"I didn't! I can't stand the way you're just waiting without don't try anything! You won't get better without treatment. You know that! You're a doctor!"
"If you can't take it, why are you with me? You knew about my condition! I told about this!"
"I know! It's not that simple. I can't - "
"So, if you can't maybe we shouldn't be together! Maybe we never should've start dating! If you can't take it we should - "
"I can't take it because I love you!" The words that she had held in her heart for months burst from her and she regretted instantly. As much as she wanted to tell Arizona she loved her, she didn't mean for it to happen this way. It was neither the time nor the place for such a declaration.
Arizona was stunned. She stood, open mouthed, unable to speak. She turned around and left, slamming the door. Callie stood there, staring at the door. She felt the tears running down her cheeks.
"Because I love you, Arizona..." she whispered to herself.
