Note: Hi! I'm alive and back. I'm really sorry for not updating for more than like two weeks! After the last chapter got posted up, I was really busy with preparing for my competition. It lasted for the whole day last Saturday, which was why I didn't update on my usual schedule. Consider this chapter a late update for Saturday. Hopefully I have time to post up the next chapter while I'm at this... Anyway, this chapter finally reveals the Champions! A few of you got it right too! I'm so happy for you guys! Anyway, to all those who favourited, followed and left reviews for this fic, thank you. You guys managed to guilt trip me into posting this today. I just felt so bad this entire week...
Anyway, I don't own Bleach, Hetalia or Harry Potter. Enjoy this chapter!
The next morning, the Golden Trio went down to the Entrance Hall earlier than usual, only to see about twenty other people standing around the Goblet. "Has anyone put in their name yet?" Ron asked nobody in particular.
"Not yet… At least none that I have seen…" Someone replied.
"Some of them must have put it in last night after we've all gone to sleep. That's what I would have done, wouldn't want everyone watching. That would be nerve wrecking." Harry reasoned.
As Ron and Hermoine nodded their agreement, Fred, George and Lee Jordan hurried down the stairs, looking very excited.
"Just taken one drop each." Fred told them.
"Taken what?" Ron asked.
"The Ageing Potion, dung brains." Fred told him, rolling his eyes.
"Just one drop. We only need a few months." George added.
"If any of us wins, we'll split the winnings." Lee Jordan finished.
"Are you sure that that'll work? I'm sure that Dumbledore has thought of this…" Hermoine said. The three boys ignored her, naturally.
"Ready? I'll go first." Fred said. He took out a piece of paper with his name and Hogwarts on it and stepped across the age line. For a second, nothing happened and George leapt in next to Fred with a triumphant shout. Next moment, they were hurled out of the circle, landing painfully on the cold stone floor. After that, there was a popping sound and both twin sprouted identical twin white beards. The entire Hall burst into laughter, joined in by both of them once they saw each other's beards.
"Well that was immature aru." China commented, the Nations having came in just as they were thrown out of the circle.
"I did warn you. Ms Fawcett and Mr Summers did the same thing too. But I must say, their beards weren't as fine as any of yours. I suggest that the both of you go up to Mdm Pomfrey." Dumbledore said, amusement twinkling in his eyes.
England sighed. What was happening to his citizens nowadays?
The Halloween Feast seemed to take much longer than usual. No one, at least from Hogwarts, seemed interested in the food prepared. The other two 'schools' were eating their meals as per usual, seemingly unexcited about what was going to happen. In fact, they were all actually rather wary about what could happen.
Finally, the golden plates were cleared and Dumbledore got to his feet. Urahara smirked behind his fan while Rome was simply smiling at everyone. "Well, the Goblet is almost ready to make its decision. I estimate that it requires one more minute. Now, when the champions' names are called, I would ask them to please come up to the front of the Hall, walk along the Staff table and go through into the next chamber where they will be receiving their first instructions." Dumbledore announced to the school. He then extinguished the candles, except for those in the carved pumpkins. The Goblet of Fire now glowed more brightly than anything, putting both the Nations and the Shinigami on edge. There was something not right about things, but everything seemed to be going correctly. Moreover, they were certain that Harry did not put his name in. After all, they had followed him in shifts.
Suddenly, the flames in the Goble turned red and sparks began to fly from it. A tongue of flame shot into the air and a charred piece of parchment fluttered out of it. The whole room gasped in anticipation. Dumbledore caught the piece of parchment that flew out and held it next to the Goblet to read off of it.
"From Shino Academy, Hitsugaya Toshiro!" Dumbledore announced. The diminutive, white-haired Captain stood up and calmly walked past the teachers and into the side chamber amidst the cheering from the crowd. As he walked past, Urahara whispered into his ear, "Why am I not surprised, Hitsugaya Taicho?"
Hitsugaya shrugged in response, but smirked and continued walking with his head held high. Just as Hitsugaya closed the door, the next slip of paper was spit out by the Goblet. "From Hetalia World Academy, Arthur Kirkland!" came the second announcement as Dumbledore read off the parchment.
England stood up to the cheers from the other nations, although America seemed to be sulking a little at not being chosen. He walked up to the familiar – to him – path to the small chamber, completely ignoring Rome, who was looking at him with a small smile that England did not like one bit. After all, it was with that smile that Rome had taken him away from his brothers all those centuries ago.
"That's funny…" Hermoine muttered, noticing that little spectacle.
"Huh? What is?" Ron asked, oblivious to what had happened.
"Arthur just completely ignored his Headmaster." Hermoine said, pointing out the fact to Harry and Ron, drawing attention to the fact that Rome looked a little put out that England had completely ignored him.
"Yeah… So?" Ron asked again, not seeing the importance at all. Sure it was a little strange, but why should it bother them?
"Well…" Hermoine started, only to be silenced by the third piece of paper being thrown out of the Goblet. Everyone stilled. It was finally the time for Hogwarts' Champion to be announced.
"From Hogwarts… Cedric Diggory!" Dumbledore announced to the Great Hall. The Hufflepuff table burst into thunderous applause and cheers as Cedric got up from the table and disappeared into the chamber.
"Now," Dumbledore was suddenly cut off by the Goblet throwing out a final piece of parchment before going out. Dumbledore caught the piece of parchment with practised ease and stared at the slip, while the entire Hall stared at him expectantly. Finally, after a long pause, Dumbledore cleared his throat and read.
"Harry Potter."
Note: Clichéd cliffhanger ending. My apologies, seriously. I'm hoping to get the next chapter up asap. However, on Tuesday next week, I'll be leaving for China's house with my school. I'm sorta a replacement for a friend who was supposed to go, but injured herself and now can't so yeah. It'll be two weeks long and I'll try to update if I can bring myself to, but no promises. Which means that I may not be posting for the next two weeks. I'm really terribly sorry, but even if it's the holidays here, my schedule is so packed that I barely have any time anymore, what with the trips, competition and studying. I hope to be able to post more but... as I said, no promises. Once again, I'm really sorry. Please be patient with me!
So, see you all again when I get to post next. Please review!
