Emily's P.O.V

I wake up to a cold bed and the smell of bacon. I roll over onto my back and JJ walks through the door holding a cup of coffee and a plate with pancakes and bacon. "Morning." She says, sitting down on the bed. "Good morning. What time is it?" I ask. "Noon. You've gotta eat then we need to leave." She says. "We need to stop by my place so I can pack a bag." I say. She shakes her head. "You'll pack jeans. You can't wear jeans yet Em. I have a whole drawer full of sweatpants and I already packed you enough for the week." She says. I nod. "Put this in a container and I'll get dressed." I say handing her the plate. "Oh and can you put my coffee in a travel mug please?" I ask. She nods. "JJ." I say. She turns around. "What's up?" She asks. I stand up and slowly walk over to her. Putting my hands on her hips I smile and kiss her. "I love you." I say. She smiles. "I love you too. Get dressed." She says smiling. "Yes master." I say. "Smartass." She calls from the kitchen.

I pull out the drawer and pull out a pair of sweatpants and a tank top.

"JJ, are you ready?" I ask as I walk into the kitchen. She nods. "Yeah I just have to get my bag loaded and then we can go." She says. "Okay." I say.

I grab my coffee and walk out the front door and just stand on the front step. It's nice out. Warm and sunny, with a little breeze. It's the perfect day. I hear the door lock behind me and JJ's arm around my waist. "What are you thinking?" She asks. I shrug. "The weather." I say. She smiles. "Let's go." She says.

"How long is the drive?" I ask, closing the car door. "About four and a half hours."

4 Hours Later

"So is there anything I should know about your parents before we get there?" I ask, putting my hand on JJ's thigh. "I don't think so." She says.

I move my hand up her thigh, closer to her center. She squirms a little bit. I move it closer. Then closer until my index finger is pressing against the seam of her jeans. I hear her whimper and she squirms. I start moving my fingers against her. "Em." She says. "Emily. Stop, please. Emily. The first time I scream your name I want it to be in a bed. When you can move without hurting yourself. Trust me. I want you. But I can't let myself have sex with you while you're hurt, okay?" She asks. I sigh. "Fine." "Give me your hand." She says, taking her right hand off the steering wheel. I put my hand in hers and bring it to my lips, gently kissing it.

She smiles and looks at me. "You're nervous." She says. "Is it that obvious?" I ask. She nods. She brings my hand over her heart. "You have nothing to be nervous about." She says. "What if they don't like me? Jennifer, what if they don't accept us?" I ask. She looks over at me. "They'll love you Emily. And if they don't accept us then we go home." She says. "Jennifer, I can't be the reason you leave your family." I say. "You're my family too Em. You, and Hotch, and Rossi, and Garcia, and Spence and Morgan. You are my family, Emily. I love my parents and I love you, but if I had to choose between my parents and love, I would choose you Emily." She says. "JJ, if it comes to that, I want you to choose your parents." I say. She shakes her head. "No Emily. I won't do that. I can't live without you Em. I don't care what my parents will think. End of discussion. Got it?" She says. I smile. "Yes ma'am." I say.

"We're here." JJ announces as she puts the car in park outside of what I'm guessing is her parents' house.

I sit back and take a deep breath. "Here goes nothing." I quietly mumble.

I open the close the car door and look over the roof to see JJ's parents hugging her. I smile.

I slowly walk around the car to the group. JJ's father pulls back from the hug and looks at me. "You must be Emily." He says. I nod. "Yes sir. It's nice to meet you Mr. Jareau." I say. He smiles. "Call me Mike." He says. I smile. JJ's mom walks over to me and wraps me in a hug. "I'm Sandy." She says. "Hi." I say awkwardly. I never really was good at the whole meeting the parents' thing, ever. I look at the ground. "Mom, daddy. I'm gonna tell you something, and no it can't wait. It's probably better to do with the car still packed. Just in case." She says. "Em, come here." I look up from the ground and walk over to her. She puts her arm around my waist and kisses my temple. "It's okay Em." She says before turning back to her parents. "Emily is my girlfriend. We are a couple. I love her, and I really hope you can too." She says. I look down at the ground and then up at Mike and Sandy. There are looks of confusion and then smiles. I release the breath that I didn't realize I was holding. "Mom, daddy, say something." JJ says. Mike looks at me. "You love my daughter?" He asks. I nod. "I really do sir." I say. "Good. But just so we're clear, you hurt my little girl, I hurt you." Mike says. I smile. "I would never do anything to hurt your daughter sir." I say. "Daddy stop." JJ says. "Come on Mike, help me get the bags out of the car." Sandy says. "No mom, I can do it, we only have four bags." JJ says. "I can help you Jennifer." I say. JJ turns to face me. "No you can't. You go inside and sit down." She says. "Jennifer I'm okay. I can lift my own bags." I say. She shakes her head. "No heavy lifting." I sigh. "It's not heavy Jen. Let me at least carry one bag so I don't feel completely useless." I say. She nods. "Okay. Fine. Here, take this one, it's the lightest one." She says. I nod.

JJ, Sandy, and Mike each grab a bag and then lead me into the house. "You two can sleep in Jennifer's room okay?" Sandy asks. JJ nods. "Okay mom. I can show Emily around. Something smells good." JJ says. Sandy smiles. "Roast beef and potatoes." She says. "Is that okay Emily? Jenny didn't tell me if you were a vegetarian or not." I smile. "Roast beef is fine Sandy." I say. She nods. "Call me if you need anything." She says before turning and walking back down the hall.

We walk into the bedroom and put the bags on the bed. "Wow JJ, this is really nice." I say. She smiles. "I love it in here. Okay, I'll show you around, then we can unpack and wait for dinner." JJ says. I nod. She walks over to me and takes my hand. "I love you." She says. I wrap my arms around her waist and push my hands into the back pockets of her jeans. "I love you too." I say kissing her. She wraps her arms around my neck and pulls me closer to her. Neither of us notice the bedroom door opening beside us or Sandy walking in. "Oh, sorry girls." She says. I smile and pull away from JJ, keeping my arm around her waist. "What's up mom?" JJ asks. "I just wanted to tell you that supper will be ready in about ten minutes." Sandy says. JJ nods. "Okay, I'll show you around Em." She says. "Alright."

We walk out of JJ's room and down the hall a few feet. "This is my brother, Josh's room." She says, opening the door. We step inside and a bed on one side of the door and a dresser on the other, and a desk across the room. The walls are all red and there's a white carpet. "Follow me." She says. I nod and we walk out of the room and down the hall about two feet, to another door. She opens it and we walk down the small hallway into another bedroom. "This is my other brother Jesse's room." She says. The room is set up pretty much the same way as the other one, but the walls are blue. "You have two brothers?" I ask. She nods. "Identical twins. You'll meet them Thursday." She says. I nod. "Okay." I say. She smiles and leads me back out of the room and into the main hallway. She points to a door across the hall, "that's the bathroom, and the other door," she points at a door about ten feet down the hall, "is my parents room." She says. I nod. "Cool." I say.

She leads me down to the living room, where Mike and Sandy are setting the table. "Come here Em." JJ says. We sit down on the couch and JJ cuddles into my side and puts her head on my shoulder. I put one arm around her shoulders and the other around her stomach. Kissing the top of her head I smile. She puts her hand on my chest and snuggles into my shoulder a little bit more. I hear a chair being pulled out at the dining room table behind the couch and turn around to see Mike sitting at the end of the table smiling at us. I turn back and smile.

"Dinner's ready." Sandy says, as she puts the potatoes on the table. JJ gets up and helps me up. She walks me over to the table and pulls a chair out. "After we're done eating I wanna check the bandages." JJ says. I nod. "Fine." I say. Mike looks at me. "Bandages?" He asks. I nod, then turn to, JJ, putting my hand on her thigh. "I um, I was shot." I say. "Oh, my god, are you okay dear?" Sandy asks. I nod. "Yeah, fine, it really doesn't hurt much." I lie. I look at JJ and see the tears in her eyes. She looks at me then gets up and goes into her bedroom. "What the?" Sandy says, standing up, ready to go after her. I stand up. "No, she's alright Sandy, let me." I say walking away from the table.

I walk into the bedroom to find JJ sitting at the head of the bed hugging a pillow, crying. I walk over to her and just sit down and wrap my arms around her. "Jennifer, baby, look at me." I say. She looks up. "I'm still here Jen. I'm right here baby. I'm alive. I'm okay." I say. "You could just as easily be dead Emily. I would have had to gone to your funeral. Again. But I would never have any chance of seeing you again. I couldn't handle that." She says. "I didn't die. I'm here. Alive." I say. "Your heart stopped Emily. Twice. You could have died." She says. "My heart stopped?" I ask. She nods. "Hotch and I asked them not to tell you." She says. "Why JJ?" I ask. "Hotch thought it might bring up some bad memories, with the whole Doyle thing." She says. "Baby, that was two years ago." I say. She shrugs. "I know, but I still agree with Hotch." She says. "I didn't know, JJ. I'm sorry." I say, bringing my hand to her face, wiping the tears away with my thumb. "Come here." I say laying down on my side. She lays down beside me and just cuddles up to me, wraps her arms around me and cries.

"Do you want to go out and eat supper?" I ask. She nods. "Yeah, just let me get cleaned up." She says. I nod. "Okay." I say. She walks over to the mirror on the wall and pulls out her hair brush out of her bag. I stand up and walk over to her. Wrapping my arms around her waist from behind I kiss her neck. She smiles and leans back against me. "I love you JJ." I say. She turns around and kisses me. "I love you too. Come on, let's go get some of moms roast beef." She says. I laugh. Grabbing her hand we walk back out to the table where Mike and Sandy are talking about their neighbors. "What was that about?" Mike asks once we sit down. "It doesn't matter daddy." JJ says. "Yes it does Jenny." Mike says. "I'm okay now." JJ says. Mike just nods and passes me the potatoes.

Chapter Eleven Sneak Peek:

"You wanna go for a drive?"

"Never thought you'd turn out to be a dyke. It's a shame really."

"You don't remember me? It's me, Charlie."

"I get to go home and fuck her tonight."

Emily smiles. "So you're gonna go home and fuck me tonight?"

"Maybe."
