DISCLAIMER: ONLY OC'S NOTHING ELSE!
I took a deep breath as I walked over to the long jump pit. Just stay calm like everyone has told you. I glanced over to see Kyo and Chika. I gulped. Kyo maybe short but he has incredible strength.
And Chika is Mistukuni's brother.
I'm screwed.
I shook my head. Quit being negative, Kris. I pushed a hand through my hair as I went over to the crowd of boys. I noticed one of Hideo's lackeys was here as well. I blinked when he gave me a nervous look before turn around again. Maybe that was just my imagination.
I focused back on the proctor. He was an old man, he had on a track suit and a sun hat. He let out a wheezy cough before he began to speak. "Alright everyone, here is how its gonna go. You get three chances. We'll record every jump you make, but the highest wins, got it." He walked over to a white line on the ground. "This is where you jump." He then pointed to the run-way. "You can start from as far back as you want, but you jump from this white line. Anywhere else and its a foul. Everyone understand?"
"Yes sir." We said in unison.
"Alright I have a list." He called up a random boys name as he went over to the line. He looked to be on the red team. I sat there nervously for some reason. I began to subconsciously twist my hair.
I blinked. Someone stood in front of me to block my view. I looked up to see that it was Chika. "Oh, hey." I said awkwardly.
"Stop that." I stared at him in confusion. " Twisting your hair."
I blinked at him. How does twisting my hair bother him? "Um...why?"
"Your sister says you do it when your nervous, so I suggest you stop and think about something else." He said. Being that I was taller than him it wasn't very intimidating. But then something came to mind.
"My sister told you that?" I didn't think they were all that close to be talking to each other. Much less about me. I wonder what changed.
"Yes." He said.
I gave him a grateful smile. "Thank you."
I red tint came to his cheeks. "Don't get me wrong. She only told me if I saw it to ask you to stop...I didn't do it on my accord. She wouldn't stop bothering me if I didn't. I'm simply passing the message along!" Chika trying to reassure himself didn't pull the smile off my face even by a hair. He saw this and his entire face turned red. "Stop smiling!"
"Wow, wow, whats goin' on over here?" Kyo said as he walked up. He glanced over to Chika. "Man your face is redder than a tomato. What's wrong with you?"
"Ggrh! Nothing, mind your own business!" He said. His face still red. He stalking off to the other side of the pit. I couldn't contain myself anymore. A snort came from my nose as I busted into giggles. I hadn't realized that people were starting to look at me. Some with smiles of their own, others with curious looks. I cover my mouth and tried to stop my laughter as I saw their eyes all on me.
I glanced over at Kyo who examined me as if I was another species. "What?" I asked.
He smirked at me. "Amazon you laugh like a total girl."
I stared at him blankly not sure how to reply to that statement. "Uuhhh..."
"Don't be embarrassed. I can't believe I never heard you laugh, well, like this. Wait until I tell the other guys our captain snorts and giggles."
"Sorry...I'll try not to do it."
"No way don't hide it now that I know how you really laugh." He said with a mischievous smirk that reminded me of hitachiin twins.
He patted my shoulders. "I know understand why your sister calls you piglet."
I blinked. Now that I think about it where are my sisters and the twins? I looked around me to see if I could spot them. I saw Kaoru and Ana talking to each other on the far side of the track. I raised my brow. I didn't know they were close. I should ask her about it later.
I turned when something caught the corner of my eye. Stephanie was walking in the opposite direction of the track with...Kyoya?
Am I missing something?
Before I could even thinking of calling for them a number and name was called out. "Haninozuka, 24 feet and five inches." I slowly turned around to see the chestnut haired boy walk away from the pit shaking off the sand. That was an amazing jump. "Carson, your up next." I gulped and there were butterflies in my stomach now. I pulled off my sweat jacket and pants to reveal my jersey and running shorts. I looked back at Kyo, he gave me a thumbs up.
Walking over to the pit I went to the back of the run way. I looked down to make sure that my shoes are tied. Don't want to fall. That would be embarrassing. I took one last deep breath before bursting off to jump the white line.
There it is! Go!
I closed my eyes and jumped. Which was an awful idea considering what I heard next. "Foul." I stood up slowly and looked over at the proctor with wide eyes.
"W-What did you say?" I asked, standing up from the sand now in my shorts, hair and shoes.
"You were nowhere near the white line when you jumped." I walked out of the pit over the wiping the sand of my shoulders. My first jump and I got a foul, great.
"Hey don't look so down." Kyo said. "You got this." I could see the look he was giving me. I may not have known Kyo that long but I know that look.
I frowned at him. "Don't you dare." His smile disappeared.
He looked away nervously. "W-What do you mean?" I knew I was right.
"Don't you do it and you know what I'm talking about." I said with a firm tone staring him in the eyes. He tried his best to stare right back at me but was failing badly. Finally he caved and turned away, while crossing his arms.
"Aw, Amazon how did you know?" He said.
I shook my head. "You have a look on your face when your about to throw a match or go easy on another student because you feel sorry for them. And you're not going to do that with me." He turned to me slowly. "I mean it. Try your hardest and don't hold back, because if you do, I'll know. And I will get you back for it, I promise you that."
We stared at each other for a moment before he broke out into a full on grin. "I'm liking this confidence you have Amazon, alright. I won't do it then, but you better be ready."
We turned back to the long jump pit when I saw that it was Hideo's lackey. I should probably learn his name rather than calling him that...oh well. He looked determined and when he speed off I watched as he fell to the sand. It was good but it wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be. Who was I kidding I have a foul right now, anything is better than my jump.
"19 feet and 11.5 inches." He got up out of the sand and looked directly at me. I stared back him so not to seem intimidated. Though he didn't look like he was trying to scare me. He looked scared more than anything right now. Which was confusing me at the moment. "Satou, your up next." Kyo looked back at me.
I gave him the thumbs up just as he had done for me earlier. When he sped off he had his usual grin placed on his lips. When he soared through the air like a bird landing on his hands. I'm not sure how that happened though. When he got up a large smile was thrown my way. I nodded with approval. I forget sometimes that I'm Kyo's sempai and hr actually wants my approval.
When they pulled the measuring tap down the man yelled out the number. "25 feet and 2 inches."
"Alright!" He cheered, pumping his fist in the airing running in my direction, with pride in every step.
I shook my head with a smile. "Very nice."
"Thanks." He said. He seemed even happier now.
This time around I decided to have a seat rather than stand and watch. When Chika jumped this time he beat Kyo by 2 inches. But who would expect any less from a Haninozuka, I guess. I realized that I hadn't really said anything to Mitsukuni at all today. Being that I'm pretty busy at the moment and he's in the stands with my aunt and Mori. I then realized that I had zoned out and was looking in their direction. The blond stood up and waved down at me wildly. A smile came to my lips as I gave him a less hyper version of his wave.
It was so cute.
I shook my head when I realized where my mind was headed. No Kris, were not going to think about your adorable boyfriend
'Maybe later~'
Oh my Jesus, go away conscience. This is not the time.
'It's never the time! When will you ever have time for me!'
I think we should have sometime apart, so I can think...
'Fine I'm leaving!'
...
I'm so confused.
I blinked when I realized that it was my turn once again. As I stood up I saw Hideo's lackey looking at me again. Now he looked guilty. Is he having some sort of emotional issue that he needs to talk about with me? I sighed. I had to focus. This time around will not be a foul. I walked up the run way to the very back and got into running stance. I focused on the white line this time so I wouldn't miss. Then I took off.
DON'T MISS! DON'T MISS! DON'T MISS!
I jumped this time with my eyes open and my foot was actually on the white! I landed in the sand on the tips on my toes. I looked back at the proctor and he nodded. I grinned as I got up walking over to Kyo who gave me a high-five. "Carson, 23 feet and 11.8 inches." My smile soon slipped from my face. That wasn't good enough for me to win.
"Come on Amazon, it's okay you still have one more." He said, starting to get that look again.
"Kyo." I said with narrowed eyes.
He raised his arms in defeat. "I know, I won't."
"Good."
When it was his turn again he didn't look at me as he ran up the line and jumped. "Satou, 24 feet even." I stared at him as he walked over to me. I crossed my arms.
"What? I promise you I didn't ." He said looking me directly in the eyes.
I sighed and looked away. "Fine, but if I find out your lying to me. You will pay." He sweat-dropped and looked away. The last time around Chika had 26 feet and 9.1 inches. Which was making me nervous. I'm glad that he wasn't taking it easy on my like a certain red head, but I really had to step up my game on this last one.
I walked up to the run way. I needed to really nail this one. I took off and ran as hard as my legs would got in this short distance and jumped with all of my might. I flew through the air and landed on the balls of my feet. I winced as I stood up slowly. That doesn't feel good. I turned around to hear my jump.
"26 feet and 9.3 inches." My eyes went wide. I had beat Chika by two centimeters. I went to walk, but my left ankle was starting to hurt. It didn't feel like it was serious, so I ignored it.
Kyo jumped over to me. "That. Was. Awesome, Amazon! Way to go man!"
"Thanks." I said sheepishly, but it wasn't over yet he had to go and he had better not go easy on me either. I held my breath for everyone else. I could get cocky and say I've won if it wasn't over yet. I started to twist my hair, but stopped when I remembered what had happened with Chika earlier. I smiled. That was funny.
When it was Kyo turn to jump I stared at him intently letting him know that I mean business. He looked away from me nervously and began to sprint down the line. He flew through the air. I hadn't realized that he had missed the white line complete when he land in the sand much further than I had.
"Foul." The proctor said.
My mouth fell open as I stared at him. Did he just miss! Oh he is dead!
He walked over to me anxiously. "Don't get mad."
"..."
"Please don't be mad."
I only glared at him.
"...are you mad?"
"Yes." I said.
He paled. "Well I didn't do it on purpose, really! And you won how can you be mad?!"
I turned away from him. "Because I can. You didn't give your all. So I feel like I shouldn't have won."
He sighed. "Look Amazon the last one was an accident. I didn't mean to." I ignored him. He was silent for a moment. I turned around to see him on the ground bowing.
"W-What are you doing? Get up people are looking at you!" I said.
"Not until you forgive me." He said firmly.
I glanced around me to see them all looking at the scene. I started to blush. "O-Okay, just get up. I forgive you!"
He looked up at me with smile. "Are you sure?"
"Yes!" I said.
He stared to stand up when he winced. "Man, I feel old. I think I landed wrong."
I held out a hand for him. "That's what you get for not doing your best." I said with a grin.
"How many times do I have to tell you I-"
"What are you guys doing?" We both looked over to Chika as Kaoru and Ana came over.
I raised my brow. "What?"
Ana suddenly started laughing. "Piglet, can I be a bride's maid?"
What? Didn't that have to do with marriage? I look down at how Kyo was positioned on one knee, holding my hand...
My eyes went wide and I quickly let go of Kyo's hand as he fell to the ground again. "Hey!" He said.
This only seemed to make Ana laugh harder as my face turned red. I glanced over to Kaoru who seemed to be keeping to himself. I wonder what happened he was happy only a little while ago. Before I could say anything Renge spoke through the intercom once again.
"Congratulations to Kris Carson, for first place in long jump. Hideo Katashi, first place in high jump. Kagura Yamaboshi, first place in pole volt in the male division. We would soon like to start the running events so please be ready." She said in a chipper voice. "Girls division will now start so please move to your locations now."
Ana stretched her arms with a smile as she patted Kaoru's shoulder. "Well I better get going." She walked over to me with a mischievous grin. I raised my brow. She whispers in my ear. "Don't go and get another guy, just because you feel a withdrawal."
My mouth gaped open. "I-I do not!"
"Oh so you have been busy then. Big brother is growing up."
"A-Ana!" I sputtered. She laughed as she ran toward high jump. I glanced back at the other three boys.
Chika shook his head. "I don't even want to know." He said as he walked away.
Kyo got up and wiped himself off. "Well, um, I'm just gonna go..." He said awkwardly as he walked away.
I looked over at Kaoru who was avoiding my eyes. "Kaoru what's wrong?" I asked.
He shrugged. "Nothing, nothings wrong." He said, but I could tell that he wasn't telling the truth. He wasn't looking me in the eyes.
"Come one Kaoru you can tell me. Were best friends, right?" I asked He seemed to wince when I said "friends". "Right?"
He turned to me. "Of course."
"Then whats wrong?" I asked. "Did my sister say something to you?" He didn't say anything. "She did, didn't she? Do you want me to talk to her?"
"No!" He said a bit to loud. I raised my brow. "I just...she's pretty sharp, that's all."
I tilted my head. "Huh?" I thought for a moment. "Well she is smart." But I didn't see what that had to do with any of this.
He examined my clueless expression before he sighed with a smile. "I wonder where she got it from?" He said as if it was lost even to him.
"What's that suppose to me?" I asked.
He grinned. "Nothing at all."
"Kaoru." I said in a warning tone.
"You should get ready for your next event." He said changing the subject.
"Kaoru!" I heard him start to laugh.
*Break*
Sadly enough, Renge announced that Hideo had gotten first place in the 55 meter hurdles.
I had the 200 meter dash. For some reason everyone had pushed me into doing it. I looked over to the other kids. I recognized some of them as actual track runners. I gulped I wonder how this is going to go.
"You ready?" I heard from behind me. I turned around to see Kagura grinning wide with his dimples showing.
"As ready as I'll ever be." I said, stretching my legs.
"I'm sure you'll be fine." He assured. I slowly looked up at him.
"You do realized that were on different teams, right?"
He gave me a blank stare. "So?"
"So, that means don't go easy on me." I said pointing at his chest. "Or you'll end up just like Kyo."
"Kyo?" He questioned before laughing. "Oh yeah, I heard. The marriage proposal. I'm so scared~"
My mouth gaped open. "What? No! That's not-"
"All runners for the 200 meter dash please get in ready position." I walked over to lane four where they had assigned me. Who told him that? Then I narrowed my eyes.
Ana.
I'm going to get her.
Kagura winked over at me. "Sorry Kris I'm just not ready for that kind of commitment."
I blushed and looked away with a scowl. Oh, she is definitely dead.
"On your mark, get set." Then the gun went off and I sprinted with all of my might. I think it was the adrenaline and the anger towards my sister, but I was running with everything I had. I glanced to my side to see Kagura coming up beside me.
No.
Kagura was taller than me so his stride was a bit larger, but I wasn't going to let that get to me. We went around the curb and I could see the finish line. It seemed so far away. Kagura and I were running on the same pace. I could hear cheers and screaming in our direction. My heart was pumping 1000 miles an hour. I had to get first and I'm glad that Kagura was honoring what I told him to do because this was really hard. I spreaded out my stride and practical screamed when the finish line was only seconds away.
It's right there!
I pushed with all my might at the last moment and crossed the finish line. I have no idea who won, I fell out a couple of feet in front of the line. I could see my chest heaving up and down for air. I've run hard, but Kagura has definitely become a rival.
I sat up when I saw a hand come out for me. I grabbed it and stood to my feet to see Kagura standing there. "Y-You...are...really good." I told him.
He waved his hand as he continued to breathe hard. I let out an airless laugh. "Yeah." I said as if I could understand him.
"That was a spectacular race! I'm sure you all want to hear the winner but I'll just show you for myself." Renge said, suddenly the ground rumbled and a jumbo screen came out. "Kagura and Kriss were neck and neck until almost the very end but look here!" It showed me screaming out and jumping over the finish line as I fell to the ground. "Kris is our winner!"
I smiled as I felt Kagura lean against me. "I guess,...I don't have...to propose to you now." I frowned and pushed him off me as he started to laugh. I shook my head.
"Now I'm sure everyone wants a break so after the girls division, we have a special treat for you all! Ouran has put together there very own cheering squad! So support your team and get ready!" Renge said as she posed. I rolled my eyes. She was definitely made for this job.
I wiped my hand over my sweaty forehead. I turned to Kagura. "I'm gonna head to the bathroom."
"Are you gonna cry cause I didn't propose to you? Do you need some comfort?" He asked with a teasing expression. My eye twitched.
"Why would I want to be comforted by someone who didn't propose to me?" I asked, regretting it right after.
"Aha! So you are upset, you know-"
"Good bye Kagura." I said turning away. I could hear him laughing as I rolled my eyes.
I walked across the field over to the bathroom. I stared at the door.
Out of order.
I tilted my head. That can't be, it was fine earlier. I went to open the door only see that it's locked. I sighed. "I guess it really is out-of-order." But the entire bathroom thought?
I shrugged. "Guess I'll have to go inside." I held my hair up to let the sun dry my neck as I walked into the building.
*Mori's POV*
Mori was proud of Kris, she was doing very well in her events. He had seen how nervous she was in the beginning but as the day went on she was starting to become more confident. He glanced over to his smaller cousin as he animatedly talked to his girlfriends aunt. He could tell that Mistukuni was also very proud of her and would probably congratulate her in a different way he would. After accidentally walking in on their "alone time". It was exceedingly clear to Mori what his cousin was starting think and feel toward the taller girl.
Though he knew Mitsukuni talked about her all the time he had started to wonder how the two were doing. And he definitely got his answer.
"Wow that was amazing! I knew K-chan was fast but I had no idea she could beat the boys!" He said turning to the small woman. "Did Kris run back at home in America?"
"I've lived in Japan for a long time so I haven't really been apart of Kris's life." She said with a blank expression, though she sounded a bit said.
"Oh." He said.
"But my sister has told me about one of her friends...Caleb I think his name was." She said. "She ran with him from time to time."
Mori glanced over to them. Kris has never talked about anyone she knew back in her home other than her sisters. This was something new. It peek a bit of his interest. Though he looked at his cousin for a reaction. His expression stayed even.
Mitsukuni paused for a moment. "Caleb?"
She nodded. "She use to play with him. I'm sure their still friends."
"She's never told me about him." He said carefully.
She shrugged. "I don't know you should ask her."
He was quiet for a moment before looking at her with a flower smile. "Alright, I will. Thank you Aunty."
Mori knew that tone very well. Mitsukuni was upset. Though he was also curious about why Kris hadn't talked about this "Caleb" before. Well knowing his cousin they would find out soon enough. He blinked when he saw Hideo and his little helpers follow him off the track.
Mori narrowed his eyes. Where was Kris? Something didn't seem right. He stood up as Mitsukuni looked at him.
"What's wrong Takashi?" He asked
"Bathroom." Is all he said.
"Alright, well hurry back or you'll miss the fun." He said with a smile. He was still upset.
He nodded and walked down the steps when he bumped into Kagura. "Oh hey sempai." He said with a slight bow. "Hows it going?"
"Fine." He said scanning the area.
"Are you looking for somebody?" Mori looked at the boy and nodded.
"Kris." He said.
"Oh, well he said he was going to the bathroom, but I forgot to tell him that the one outside isn't working. So he probably went inside."
The same direction Hideo went. He started to walk toward the school, hopefully nothing bad would happen to her. If they hurt her they wouldn't have only him to be afraid of.
*Kris POV*
I hadn't realized how far you would have to walk on a daily basis to find a bathroom in this school. Why have three libraries, but not one bathroom in sight.
Finally I saw one and I went to walk inside. When I went toward a stall I heard the door lock behind me and the lights went out. Being that there weren't any windows, I was completely in the dark.
Suddenly I was pushed to the ground, hard. I winced in pain. I tried my best to stand up, but I was thrown the ground once again hitting my back against the stall. I attempted to break free from the person hold by throwing out a punch. I hear a yelp and I found this as an opportunity to get away. I crawled toward the door but I was stopped by a hard kick in my side. I screamed, it hurt so bad. I bit my lip to fight back the tears.
Who was doing this?
I clutched my side in agony. When I started to hear voices. So it was more than one.
"Maybe we should stop now...he could go to the hospital."
"Yeah..."
"Shut up, we started it now we're going to finish it." I was hurting but I wasn't in so much pain that I couldn't recognize who that was.
"Hideo." I said trying my best to sit up my eyes were starting to adjust to the dark. There was indeed three people in here. He said nothing. "Don't...be like your father." I regretted saying this seconds later when a fist punched me in my side.
"Don't you ever compare me to him!" He was too enraged to think about how I would even knew that his father did this type of thing to him. He kicked me again in my lower leg.
This is the loudest I've ever screamed in my entire life. "Come on man stop!"
"He already know's who we are lets get out of here!" The door opened and the two of them ran out. When the light hit Hideo's face I didn't see the rage I thought was there, but shame.
Of course I could just be seeing things considering how hard he hit me. I laid on the ground in pain and I'm pretty sure I started crying.
I wonder if they would have hit me if they knew I was a girl.
'Really this is what you're going to think about after being beaten up! Think about what Mitsukuni is going to do when he finds out who did it.'
Yeah...
'What do you mean: yeah...
For some reason the anger for being beaten wasn't there. I felt very upset but I just didn't feel up to doing anything about this. I sat up. I wonder if anyone will find me?
Suddenly the door opened again and the lights were turned on. It was Mori. He stared at me in horror, well as far as his expressionless face would take him.
"I was too late." He said, walking over to me starting to frown at my injuries.
"No you weren't. Your here right?" I said. "Can you help me get up, please?" Rather then giving me a hand he picked me up bridal style.
"That's not what I had in mind, but okay." I said. I looked up at Mori and he held a blank stare.
"Who did this to you?" He said though his tone seemed like he already knew. I didn't say anything. "Kris. Who. Did. This. Tell me now."
I gulped. "Some people..."
"Why are you so reluctant to say anything. They beat you up."
"Not really, if you put me down I'll be able to walk."
"No, your staying here."
As he continued on I stared up at the ceiling. "...if I tell you will they go to jail?."
"Maybe."
"...will you tell the others?"
"Most definitely."
"Hm, that's way worst than jail."
"Yes, yes it is."
We were both silent after that. "Hey, Mori?"
"Hm."
"I'll tell you who did it, after the race."
"Your not racing."
"But-"
"No."
"Could you at least-"
"Never."
"J-Just listen to me for a second, please!" This made him stop completely.
"I know right now you only see me as a helpless girl, but I'm not."
"You are a girl."
"Just listen." I said firmly. "If I don't do this I'm going to regret this entire day. Yes, I was beaten, but it will all be resolved in the end. I have to finish this, please." I begged. "If things get bad we can stop the whole thing."
"Things are already bad."
I rolled my eyes. "Well, worse, if things get worse. Please? Just don't tell them until the end."
"They'll notice me carrying you out."
"Well can you please let me down." He paused for a moment, but let me down. "Thanks." I smiled at him but winced when my feet hit the floor. It took everything in me to keep from screaming. "See...I-I'm fine."
He shook his head. "I change my mind."
"No! Please, I love being on the kendo team and I actually really like being captain. I thought I couldn't handle it but...when you told me you believed in me...t-that meant a lot coming from you." I said as my cheeks turned red. "So please don't."
We stared at each other for a moment than he held out his hand. "You'll need help walking."
My eyes lit up as I smiled at him. "Thank you so much!" I said, hugging his side. "You're the best."
When I took his hand I tried my best to show I wasn't in pain. Apparently he could tell I needed to put my mind on something else.
"Who is Caleb?"
I blinked at him. "What?"
"Who is Caleb?"
"Where did you hear that from." The only one that knows about Caleb is Kaoru and I don't think he told anyone.
"Your aunt." He said.
"Oh." I said. I wonder how he came up in her conversation. "Well he's just someone I knew back in America..."
"You don't talk about your home much." I looked at him.
"You don't talk much either you know." His expression didn't change. "He was a friend I guess, we weren't all that close. He was popular I was a nobody, so everyone thought it was weird when we hung out. So I tried my best to avoid him, but he..."
"But he what?"
I looked away. "He always came looking for me."
"I see."
We were completely quiet after this. I was glad when we made it back to the track. It seemed like the girls division was over and the cheering squad was just about to leave the field.
Haruhi came into view. "Hey I was looking for you. I want to tell you..." Aw man nothing gets past Haruhi. We stared at each other and an awkwardly painful smile came to my face.
"Alright everyone the last event of the day. The relay race!" The crowd cheered. "Yes, yes I know boys division will be going first. Runners find your relay groups and let's get this thing started." Renge said.
"Well I better get going." I said quickly as I tried my best to walk normally. I saw Tamaki talking to Saroshi and Makoto as he looked over at me with a smile.
"Kris we were just discuss who would run last leg and we all think you would be the best." Tamaki said.
"What do you say?" Satoshi asked.
"Sounds great." I said.
"Alright then were counting on you." Makoto said as he his my shoulder. I yelped. "What?"
"Nothing...I'm just excited." I bit back the screams of horror in my throat.
He looked as me suspiciously. "Okay."
"Well let's go!" Tamaki said. I attempted to walk without showing the pain I felt. When I walked up to my line I saw that Hideo was fourth leg too. He didn't look at me and I turned away from him.
"On your mark, get set." Then the gun went off. I heard screams and cheers from the crowd. Between the pain and the nervousness I felt, I wasn't sure what to do.
I looked behind me to see Tamaki coming up close. "Here!" He yelled giving me the baton I gulped and took off realizing Hideo hadn't run yet he was behind I could win! Then it happened my leg that had been hit gave out on me and my head hit the ground. "No!" I yelped as the baton flew out of my hand. I weakly tried to stand but it was no use as I fell on my shoulder.
"What is this? It appears as though Kris can no longer get up. This doesn't look good folks." Renge said.
Just as she finished speaking Hideo crossed the finish line. "Yes!" He cheered. "I'm the winner! Me! Not some commoner peasant!" Everyone was quiet. "What you can't cheer?"
"It's because you don't deserve any." Ana spat, she came to my side.
"But I won." He said smugly.
"Piglet you alright?" She touched my side and I began to scream. "W-What's wrong with her-him!" She quickly fixed.
"Why don't you tell us Hideo." Mori said as Mistukuni ran over to me.
"K-chan, are you okay?" Mitsukuni said.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Hideo said glaring down at me.
"I think you do." Haruhi said walking over to me. "I noticed something was off when sh-he walked over." She squatted down beside me and lifted up my shirt enough that they could see the large bruises.
Everyone gasped. "You did this!" Ana screeched. "OH I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!" As she went to jump at him but Tamaki held her back the best he could.
"You can't prove anything." Hideo said.
"Yes, we can." Stephanie said walking up with Kyoya and one of the boys who beat me. "In fact we already have a confession."
"I'm sorry Hideo, I couldn't hold it in."
"You!" Hideo yelled. "Why I atta-"
"I would be quiet now if I were you." Kyoya said. "You're in deep trouble."
*Stephanie POV*
My sister was taken to the hospital to have her examined, so Honey went with her. Though she could tell that he wanted to stay and kill all three boys at once for what they did to her. She wouldn't blame him but since we have other things to take care of that has to wait.
Now they're in the chairmen's office, again. "I'm very sorry that all of this had to happen this way." He said.
"No the fault is mine." Hideo's father said. Stephanie narrowed her eyes. She knew he wasn't a good man. "If I had known my son would cause this much trouble than I would surely would have aborted him. In fact I still think about it. You know how kids are." The man began to laugh as if it was a joke. The chairmen didn't find it funny. Hideo lowered his head.
Stephanie's eyes went wide. She turned to Kyoya baffled by the mans words. He held a poker-face, so she had no idea what he was thinking.
"How can you say something like that?" Ana yelled.
"Ana." Stephanie warned.
"That's a horrible thing to say to your child, even if it is him." She pointed.
"You wouldn't understand, your still a child yourself so you have no idea how much of a burden he is. It's a shame really. Your brother was it? A commoner having so much more talent than my useless son. It's an embarrassment." He turned back to the chairmen who had a stone expression on his face. "Don't worry, I'll get his act together."
"Getting his act together? Meaning physical harm?" Stephanie said. Hideo lifted his head to look at her with wide eyes. He didn't look like the evil boy everyone saw him as he looked like a child.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." He said with a dangerous smile.
"The way you talk about your son says otherwise." Kyoya said. "My sources say you have a history of violence over your head. Perhaps that's why your wife divorced you. What do you think?"
He glared at them. "You have no idea what you're talking about."
"Oh we don't?" Stephanie said. She took the file from Kyoya's hand. "This clearly says that your wife reported domestic violence on her and maids in the house hold. But you paid them to keep quiet did you or did you not do that!"
"What's it to you! Your just a commoner brat who got in good with the wealthy kids!" He yelled back.
Stephanie wouldn't admit that hurt, but it did. "That's not an answer."
"Fine I did it! But so would you if you lived with that pathetic women and her whiney, needy child!"
"Dude you are the worst type of person." Ana said with a frown.
"I think it's time for you to leave, Mr. Katashi." The chairmen said with an intimidating voice.
"Fine come on Hideo."
"No way, he stay's here." Ana said. Hideo looked at her in surprise.
"You want him? Fine! Get him out of my hair."
"Well that would work if you had any!" She yelled as she shut the door in his face before he could talk again.
It was quiet in the room for a moment. The chairmen looked at the boy. "The competition between you and Kris Carson has been canceled. You are suspended for two weeks and will be considered for a juvenile correctional facility. You also will be band from school activities until further notice. That includes the other two boys." They nodded. "Now we have to consider living arrangements. It is quite obvious you can't live at home and we will deal more with your father later. Do you have any relatives?"
He looks away. "None that want me."
Everyone was silent once again. Suddenly the door opened for them to see Renge? She was the last person Stephanie thought she would see in this situation.
"I'll take him off your hands if that's what you need." Renge said.
"What?" Everyone said in unison.
"Uh Renge, I realize you have a few loose screw, but you can't be serious. Look at him!" Ana said.
"Thanks." Hideo muttered.
"Quiet you!" She said.
"I have my reasons."
"And what are they exactly?"
"A secret."
"Well it's official the world is upside down." She said.
"Well we can just make the arrangements and finish up here." The chairmen said. "Everyone except for Hideo and Renge can go home now."
Stephanie blinked she was about to lose her chance. She walked up to Hideo and he blinked at her. She lifted her fist and punched him dead in the eyes. Everyone mouth flew open. He landed against the wall.
"If you ever touch my family again you will pay." She said before turning to the chairmen. "I will take what ever punishment your see fit."
"Um...three day's no extracurricular activities." He said still baffled that she hit the boy in front of him.
"I can deal with that." She muttered before walking out the door.
"Aw, I wanted to do that." Ana whined.
"Well you lost your chance, besides I was punished." Stephanie said rolling her eyes.
She sighed. "Well at least you got in a hit. I really wanted to kill him."
"I hope Kristal is okay."
"Me too."
*Kris POV*
When I opened my eyes I was in a hospital bed. I don't even remember getting here. Only laying on the track screaming in pain. That was embarrassing.
I glanced around myself to see that I was still in my jersey and shorts. I slowly turned my head to see Mitsukuni sitting in a chair next to me. He seemed to be asleep. How long was I out? I looked out the window to see that it was dark outside. I must have slept for a long time. I went to move but I winced in pain.
"Argh, I feel stupid. Why didn't I just tell them?" I held my head.
"Why didn't you K-chan?"
I jumped when I saw him open his eyes. He held a frown and crossed his arms. Of course if didn't know any better I would have said that he's cute. But I do so I won't.
"I don't know I just didn't." I avoided his eyes. Apparently that wasn't going to slide this time so he got onto the bed making sure not to hurt me.
"K-chan they hit you and that makes me very mad." He said looking me directly in the eyes.
"Well I'm sure if you hit them they would die." I blurted.
He put his finger up to his cheek as if he was thinking. "Hm maybe. We would have to try it to find out."
"No!" I said.
He gave me a flowery smile. "K-chan you have no idea how angry I am right now, do you?"
"Well...I could guess."
He slowly brought a hand to my cheek. "I'm glad they didn't get your face, they really would have gotten it."
"Well the bruises aren't that bad." Of course I was lying but I didn't want him to worry.
"Then let me see them." He said.
I blinked. "What?"
"Let me see your bruises." He repeated slower this time.
I thought about it for moment then blushed. "Some of them are on my back and legs so..."
He didn't even seem phased by this. "Okay let me see them."
"But...you have to be a doctor..." That was a complete lie. We both knew that, but a mischievous grin came to his face
"Alright." He simply said. He got off the bed and walked out of the room.
I was lost as to what was happening right now. A moment later he came in wearing a lab coat much to big for him.
"Where did you get that?" I asked.
"That's not important."
Uh yes it is. He could get in trouble for impersonating a doctor.
Who cares, you and him are about to play doctor~
I thought you left for good.
I'm giving you a second chance
Go away.
When I zoned back in I realized that Mitsukuni was sitting next to me with innocent eyes and his head tilted to the side. "I'm Dr. Haninozuka, I need you to show me your bruises, please."
"But-"
Now he was right in my face. "Please?" He asked
I bit my lip. "Fine, but only once."
He smiled. "Okay." I lifted up my jersey so he could see the bruises the boys had made. He frowned. "Let me see your back." He saw the long bruise that went along my waist. He was quiet for a moment.
"Are you done?" I asked, I got no answer. I sighed. "Listen Mitsukuni, I'm oookAAYYYY!" I screeched when I felt something on my back. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
"Try to make you feel better." He said as if he wasn't doing anything at all.
He was kissing my back.
"Is it making you feel better?" I wanted to lie and scream "no!" but it did.
"Y-You know what Mitsukuni?"
"Hm?"
"Your really sly." He giggled as he sat in front of me.
"Can I see the bruise on your leg?" He asked oh so sweetly.
I stared at him. "No way."
"I won't kiss it if you don't want me to. I just want to see."
My face went red. "N-No way!" He had a pout on his face as he touched my neck.
"I just want to see if your alright."
"I'm fine." I insisted as his face came closer.
"I'm the doctor so only I can say for sure." He whispered.
I started to close my eyes when the door suddenly opened. "Hello I-oh my!" I turned to see a bright red face nurse.
"This isn't...uh..." I was tongue tied and had no idea what to say.
"I-I'll just give you a minute." She said quickly closing the door.
"You heard her, get off me!" I said.
"She's said she'll give us a minute." He said with a matter of fact tone.
"What are you going to do in a minute?!" I asked.
He only grinned at me.
