Hey guys, I'm sorry! I have been neglecting this story... but it's not all bad! I updated other stuff! Please don't hate me!

Anyway, I know it's short, but I will work harder! Promise! Please R&R!

When Mai arrived home, she was surprised to find Yasu sitting on the soft. He stood to greet her, planting a loving kiss on her lips. "What are you doing here so early?" Mai asked, seeing as he wasn't even due back for lunch.

"I... I quit" Yasu admitted. Yasu then let a smile brighten up his face. He hated that job, and Mai didn't like him going there just as much. When Yasu saw that Mai didn't look happy with the news, he reconsidered the pros of quitting.

"I got myself fired" Mai admitted, her voice void of emotion. That meant they had no money coming in, with rent and food yet to buy. Mai scratched the back of her head. "She kept saying she would doc my pay, when I wouldn't do everyone else job"

"My boss got overbearing..." Yasu informed, wondering if he should tell her. Mai picked up on his reluctance to share. He knew the news would just hurt her feelings, and there was no need to make her upset. So, begrudgingly, he decided to not be honest. "I am happy to be out" Mai smiled, having been worried to what he was going to say.

"Well, as I said I was fired, so I will still get two weeks pay... and so we should look for jobs now...

Mai and Yasu handed out their CV's, hoping for a job that would pay well enough. But by the end of the week, they had tried every job that wasn't degrading. The clubs and bars with short dresses, or topless waiters that was.

They were getting desperate, and really had nowhere else to turn...

Mai knocked on the door to the building, before opening it anyway. The bell sounded, and the couple walked to the centre of the room. They looked to the door marker CEO. It took a few seconds, but when he did come out, they could tell he was surprised to see them, even if he didn't show it on his face. Mai could still read those eye.

"Hello Naru" Mai greeted, bowing her head. Yasu stayed silent, avoiding facing Naru. He was only here because he needed to support Mai.

"Mai, Yasu? What are you going here?" Naru asked, his voice not holding the shock, Mai could see in his eyes.

"We came to ask for our jobs back" Mai admitted, feeling Yasu tighten his grip on her hand. He had been muttering 'this is a bad idea' for the last hour, but had finally silenced.

"But I want to work in the office with Mai as well" Yasu added, finally turning his gaze to look at Naru. His eyes were narrowed into slits. He tried to hide his hate, feeling it nearly consume him.

"Mai? Yasu?" A new voice called from the office next to Naru's. Lin smiled at seeing them after so long, but that smile was quickly replaced with a frown. He saw them holding hands, and Naru's slightly sour exterior.

"Lin-San!" Mai yelled in greeting, letting go of Yasu's hand to give him a hug. Yasu rolled his eyes, and Naru's eyes twitched in irritation. Lin hesitated, before wrapping an arm around her shoulder, his other ruffling her hair. Mai grinned, pulling away and smiling up at him. Yasu then walked to them, extending his hand to Lin. Lin saw Naru frown, but Lin still clasped Yasu's hand in his.

"It's good to see you Lin" Yasu smiled, seeing Lin smile back.

"It's good to see you both" Lin then let go of Yasu's hand, in favour of standing by Naru's side.

"I only have one place available in the office, and its Mai's if she wants it" Naru informed, crossing his arms. Mai was happy to except, but Yasu didn't look to happy.

"I think you should hire them both... with all the paperwork that has been neglected till now, there is still too much for even three people" Lin informed, wondering how the emotionally shunned teen would put up with his not-so-secret love interest, in the arms of one of his friends. He knew Mai loved Naru, and that it was something that wouldn't simply forgotten. But would Mai's self pity and lack of knowledge about Naru's feeling towards her, keep her away from Naru. And then there was always the chance she did forget her love for Naru, and had developed feeling for Yasu...

"I will give you a trail run... but after the case. We are leaving tomorrow morning, 7am, don't be late" Naru ordered, walking back to his office and shutting the door with more force then was needed...

I am sorry if it was a little rushed... the parts I missed weren't vital, and the action starts on the case! So please keep reading, and please leave a review! Do you think Mai will stay with Yasu? Or will she go back to loving Yasu! Hell, at this point she could end up with Monk if thats what you wanted XD
