Chapter 10: Lost from us.
-Urahara's Shop (The next morning)
Kisuke was typing on a computer when the floor beneath him violently shock. He sighed, his typing ceased.
Ichigo yelled out something that was muffled by the floor boards.
"Damn that Hichi. I told him not to frustrate Ichigo." Kisuke mumbled as he stood up.
Going into the training room, he was immediately assaulted by ice cold water.
"Ha!" Hichigo laughed. He was holding a water hose who's line seemed to go on forever.
"What are you doing?" Kisuke asked, seeing a shivering and drenched half hollow Ichigo.
Kisuke started to wring the water from his green robe.
"King was covered in dirt. So I decided to wash him off." Hichi grinned.
"Y-you c-could've used w-warm water!" Ichigo said, His teeth chattering.
Kisuke sighed. The second horn had appeared on Ichigo, but nothing else had changed.
"I could have. But that wouldn't have been as fun." Hichigo replied with a sadistic grin, aiming the water hose at Ichigo.
"I h-hate you, s-so much!" Ichigo growled.
"You already said that King." Hichi said as he released another wave of water
-Meanwhile in Soul Society-
Jushiro Ukitake and Shunsui Kyoraku were reclined in one of the more serene gardens of the Seireitei, enjoying the silence.
"Hm. It's these rare peaceful days that I truly enjoy this place." Shunsui said.
"Yes, well we don't get them often." Jushiro smiled.
The sky was clear, not a cloud in the sight. It was a warm day, perfect for sitting out in the sun.
"Head captain killed that Kurosaki kid, so we don't have to worry about his hollow, Ah. This peace will last for awhile." Shunsui yawned.
"You've probably just jinxed us." Jushiro sighed.
At that moment, alarms started to go off all around the Seireitei.
"Yep." Shunsui also sighed.
They stood.
"All captains and lieutenants report to the Maggot's nest entrance! A prisoner is escaping! I repeat, all captains and lieutenants report to the Maggot's nest! A prisoner is escaping!" A frightened voice rang through the intercom.
Jushiro and Shunsui looked at each other in surprise.
"Well, that can't be good." Shunsui said.
"You're the one who jinxed us," Jushiro pointed out.
Shunsui shrugged.
They then proceeded to head to the maggot's nest at top speed. Half way there, they met up with Toshiro Hitsugaya and Sajin Komamura.
"Do you know what's going on?" Toshiro asked.
"Someone is escaping from the Maggot's nest." Jushiro nodded.
Toshiro's eyes widened. "But the only prisoner in the Maggot's nest is..."
Shunsui nodded. " Yes, Sosuke Aizen."
-Moments Later-
The four captains joined the other nine at the gates to the Maggot's nest. Multiple Arrancar were preventing them from entering, This included Grimmjow, who was gleefully sparing with Kenpachi.
"Aizen-sama will be free." An Arrancar called as he launched himself at Toshiro. The Arrancar had shaggy black hair and a haunting mask covered the bottom half of his face. It was permanently carved into a grin the two quickly engaged in battle. By this time, all of the captains-save for Yamamoto- were fighting one or more Arrancars. Toshiro drew Hyorinmaru.
"I am Toshiro Hitsugaya, captain in the gotei 13." He said.
"You presume I care?" The Arrancar asked. "If you must know I am Kenji, newly appointed sexta espada." He said, bringing out his own blade. It was long and needle thin with a circular guard and black hilt. Oddly enough, he was wearing a long sleeved black shirt, skinny jeans, and a black and white stripe scarf. There was a lone feather in his hair.
"How are you here Arrancar? No alarms went off for a hollow. Or a garganta opening." Toshiro asked as his and Kenji's blades clashed.
"Yes." Kenji simply said in a bored way.
He added pressure to his attack Toshiro's eyes widened as he was bending back from Kenji's sheer strength. He jumped back as Hyorinmaru began to crack. From what they had been told about from Ichigo about Grimmjow who was the former sexta espada, the current one shouldn't be nearly this strong.
"What are you?" Toshiro asked.
"Kenji sexta espada." Kenji repeated.
He swung down his sward again, aiming to sever Hyorinmaru completely in half.
"Rain over the frosted heavens Hyorinmaru!" Toshiro called. A dragon of ice erupted from the tip of his zanpakuto, freezing Kenji on the spot.
He sighed with relief. Toshiro was about to rush off to fight another when something wrapped around his ankle draging the young captain to the ground.
"You are seriously underestimating me." Kenji said.
"That's good." The new espada added.
Toshiro was hoisted upside down by a wire thin tail, which he'd failed to notice before.
Kenji had broken free of Hyorinmaru ice and was standing there looking rather bored.
"You're the supposed prodigy, right? What a disappointment." He sighed, swinging the stunned captain around. He slammed Toshiro into the ground.
The young captain immediately stood.
"You shouldn't treat us lightly, hollow." He spat.
Kenji blinked slowly. Toshiro held Hyorinmaru at the ready. He shunpo'd behind the arrancar, swinging his sword down. Hyorinmaru's ice-cold blade glanced harmlessly off Kenji's skin. The delicate stitching on his scarf broke loose and it fell to the ground.
Kenji froze up. "My scarf.." He said "Y-YOU TORE MY SCARF!" He roared, the teeth on his mask ripping apart as he did this.
The Arrancar lashed out at Toshiro, slamming his sword into the captain's. He parried the hollow, their blades separating before both jumped at each other again.
The zanpakutos collided with the sound of metal on metal. There was a wild look in Kenji's eyes as he forced Toshiro back with brute strength.
Kenji's mask opened and a black cero charged. Toshiro's eyes widened. He broke their swords apart, but not quick enough. The small cero was released at point blank range.
Toshiro coughed up blood as the black attack went through his right lung.
"Imposable! How could the sixth be this powerful?' He thought as he fell to the ground, struggling to breath.
Kenji roared, a sound that could easily be mistaken as mad laughter. He stood over Toshiro, a haunting black reiatsu pouring off him. He raised his foot repeatedly kicking Toshiro's head into the ground.
Even after Toshiro had fallen unconscious the sexta espada continued to ram his face into the ground.
A red beam of light hit him from behind, sending Kenji flying a few yards away. Renji picked up the unconscious captain carefully (Note: I believe that Renji is in Bankai form.)
Kenji hopped to his feet with a growl. Part of the mask had a tiny crack, which was clearly pissing off the terrifying looking arrancar.
Renji took a step back as he roared again.
"That's enough, Kenji" A familiar voice said.
Renji's eyes widened. He turned around slowly.
"Ai-Aizen." He said.
The others who'd been fighting stopped.
"He's already freed?!" Shunsui's voice asked in the moment of silence.
Then one by one the arrancars all bowed before the brown haired trader. Kenji was down on one knee, his head bent and nearly touching the ground.
"Yes, Aizen-sama." He said.
"Aizen!" The Captain commander called out."If it's by force of of death we will return you to that prison!"
"Oh, no, Yama-san I have too many thing's to catch up on." Aizen said casually. "Stand, my dear espada." The present arrancar stood at his command. "Let us venture to our home." He continued "Nnoitra, open a garganta." Aizen commanded.
The tall espada, now deemed number four. He glared at all of the soul reapers as he flicked his wrist.
The air on the side of Aizen ripped apart, revealing the abyss of the world between worlds.
"You cannot leave, Aizen." Yamamoto said. The air around him started to burn up causing the soul reapers to back up a few yards away.
"Oh, but I am." Aizen smiled lightly. He stepped into the opening in the air, vanishing.
Stark, Halibel, Nnoitra, Grimmjow, and Kenji, who grabbed his scarf, followed him along with the three unknown arrancars.
"Damn him." Komamura growled. He was griping his left shoulder, which was bleeding heavily from his fight with one of the unknown arrancars.
Renji carried Toshiro over to Unohana, who started to heal him. Squad four members were injured.
After being healed, Jushiro and Shunsui sat off to the side, chatting as usual.
"You said Yamamoto killed Ichigo right?" Jushiro asked.
Shunsui nodded.
"Shouldn't we send someone to retrieve his soul?" The white haired captain asked.
Nah, I had a chat with Kisuke earlier. He said Ichigo was with him." Shunsui shrugged. Jushiro nodded
-Back at Urahara's Shop-
Isshin, Karin and Yuzu had returned to the training room to visit Ichigo. Said teenager was currently on the ground his body racked with shivers. His feet had taken their hollow form. The only part of his face that they could see was about two inches from his left eye.
"Ichi-nii." Yuzu said softly.
Ichigo was making small whimpering sounds.
Isshin put his hands on his daughters shoulders in an attempt to comfort them.
Kisuke was a little ways off, tied to a chair with chains. It seems as if Hichigo had his revenge. The hollow was sitting on a large rock, wearing Kisuke's bucket hat. Kisuke did nothing, not wanting to cause an and stress out Ichigo even more.
Isshin and the girls had walked in on Ichigo and Hichi about to fire a cero at each other. The three had been caught at the edge of the blast, Isshin using himself as a shield. His clothing was tattered and burned in places. Knowing that he had harmed his father Ichigo was angry at himself, causing a sudden change in the transformation. The mask was slowly creeping towards Ichigo's left eye.
"Ichigo please and calm down" Kisuke said somehow out of the chains.
"It's...Kind of hard... to do that." Ichigo's gargled voice came from behind the mask. He could barely talk through the skull-splitting agony in his head. He cried out a roar as it suddenly intensified. He gripped his head, curling up.
"Ichi-nii!" Both of his sisters yelled. They were both crying for their brother. The mask had completely covered his face.
Ichigo's body stopped shacking and he went silent. He was entirely a vasto lorde.
"Ichigo?" Kisuke asked.
Ichigo's golden eyes lit up behind the mask. He looked up a Kisuke and said,
"Who... are you?"
