Hey guys! I am so sorry about the lack of updates. I've had more hours at work and have been tired. I'm determined in June to update twice a month. I've got an idea for where this fic is going now and am getting the protective clothing ready for a few parts time.

Much love,

The Surprise That Would Change Everything-Part 10:

The case was finally turning in Jane's favour and they had found a local gang that fitted in the timeframe. The only problem was that they needed so done to betray the gang to come forwards and reveal what they knew. If that happened then they'd be able to solve the case quicker.

Maura wanted answered. She had this whole other family that she didn't know and there was only one person that could give her the answers that she needed. Her biological father. She didn't really want to go and see him, but she desperately wanted answers and he was the only person that could answer them.

She had been to check that Louisa was safe with Angela and that she had some more schoolwork to do. She spoke to Angela briefly before spotting Jane leaving the elevator and quickly made her exit before the Italian noticed her. She got into her car and drove off, thinking about everything.

"Ma, you haven't seen Maura have you?" Jane asked as Angela gave her and Louisa some lunch.

"No I haven't Janie," Angela said, "she was here a minute ago though. How's the case going?"

"Hoping someone will betray the gang in question," she spoke before her phone bleeped. She looked at the message before racing back off to the homicide unit, leaving Louisa and Angela wearing confused looks on their faces.

Maura had now arrived at the prison and she sat there in her car and sighed. She thought and hoped that Paddy would let something slip that may help them solve the case. The thing that was puzzling her most of all was that Paddy knew Louisa and failed to mention her or the Vance family. She finally left the car and headed into the prison needing to see what Paddy would say.

Jane was now looking through Brian's MacBook and found that a gang member had been talking to Brian about his wife's murder. She was now thinking that Brian had been killed as a warning to the gang member. Soon she and Frost were going to find Brian's contact before it was too late.

"Brian's dead?" were the first words Paddy Doyle spoke after Maura had revealed the news, "where's Louisa? Is she safe?"

"She's safe. She's with Jane's mother at the moment. Why didn't you tell me about her?" Paddy looked down,

"Sadie was the one who didn't want anything to do with the gang war. She was the only one that saw the gang war that had just started was going to be never ending. She met Brian; they fell in love, got married and had Louisa. She defected and was killed by a rival gang as a warning to us to back down, but we never back down."

Maura nodded,

"So Sadie had escaped from the gang life, but was murdered."

"As a warning to us to back down. After Sadie was murdered I went round frequently to keep an eye on Louisa and Brian. He and I began investigating asides murder so we could get some sort of revenge. He then began to get death threats and he decided to back off and focus on Louisa. I knew Brian was beginning to investigate Sadie's death again. Someone from the gang had a conscience and was helping him."

"How do you know this?"

"Because he visited me regularly and then it stooped suddenly. I got someone to leave the ice pick and pictures of you and Louisa in case she was out there somewhere, hoping you'd find her."

The doctor sat there in silence trying to figure out what to say next.

"Did Brian tell you the name of the informant?"

"Marcus O'Donnell. He used to be on my side but he went to them. My guess is he knew about Louisa and wanted to give her some closure. The reason I never told you about them was because I never thought you'd need to know, but Brian's dead and there's Louisa to think of," Paddy finished as the bell rang to signal the end of visiting time, "protect the girl," he said before heading back to his cell.

Maura thought for a second before getting up and heading back to the station with plenty of information for Jane. She walked into the homicide unit see Korsac sat there alone.

"Jane and Frost have gone to get Brian's informant," he informed the doctor who nodded.

"I have some information for Jane," she replied before sitting down at the Italian's desk waiting for her to return.
