Once we walked in my heart sunk. Fuck this was where I was last night most likely making a fool of myself. I could see myself at the bar, downing shots after shots, probably looking like some sort of floosy.
"Table for two please" Kol's voice broke my trance as we made our way over to a booth. Soft hipster music was playing and the Mystic Grill was actually a cute little place.
I zoned out as the waitress told us the specials and that she'd be right back with drinks? Leaning across to Kol I asked "What did she say" as the waitress turned and left.
"She said she'd go get our drinks, I ordered you an ice tea" "sorry I zoned out for a minute there" I laughed nervously hoping no one would recognize me or that I skipped out on bill last night. I took refuge in the menu as I tried to hide my nervousness. Mustering up the last bit of courage I had I figured I might as well tell him rather than waiting for his ass of a brother Klaus to do it.
"Babe?"
"Yes darling"
"This is where I got wasted last night"
"I figured since you were acting like a sinner in church from the second we walked in"
"Oh hush! What are you ordering?"
Just as we finished up lunch a group of people walked in. A black-haired man noticed Kol and I and made a b-line to our table.
"What are you doing here Mikealson?" Rude.
"What a pleasure Damon, I happen to be grabbing a bite to eat what are you doing? Still trailing after your brother's girl, I assume?" So, this black-haired guy's name was Damon huh? Old fashioned name if you ask me.
"Damon!" A brunette girl shrieked with concern as she jogged over from the group to pull him away.
Wrapping her hand around his bicep she tried to tug on him but it appeared she was either weaker than an earth worm or he was a vampire. Paying no attention to her Damon continued his rudeness "Can't you Mikealsons just get the hell out of Mystic Falls already?
"Damon please let's not start anything I have a science test tomorrow I don't need to start more drama with the them! Let's go!" Again, pulling on him this time the girl was shaken off looking quite heart broken. I could see a group of two girls and one other boy hanging behind, for the drama. I rolled my eyes as I continued to sip my sweet tea, watching the exchange as if it was a tennis match.
The whole group for sure did not dress like any high schoolers I knew but they couldn't be older than 20 and judging by what that brunette said they must be. Or at least that one vampire must be pretending to be high schoolers.
"Better listen to your girl there mate, and let me and mine enjoy our day" Kol said with a dismissive wave of his hand.
Suddenly the Damon man slammed his hands down on our table making me jump and my sweet tea spill over the edges.
Without a thought, I immediately exclaimed "Excuse you!". The black-haired man's eyes shot to me, "You better get out before you become another bimbo dead in the streets sweetie"
In a blink of an eye Kol had him by his neck "Don't you ever speak to her again! If you do I will rip out your liver! Now leave before I break this pretty one's neck" his eyes flickering to the brunette who looked like she was about to pass out.
Throwing her a death glare, I stood up from the booth and stepped into her personal space. I was tired of this I just wanted to have a nice lunch with Kol.
"We said leave, now take your boy and scat bitch". Venom dripping from my voice and a perfectly arched eyebrow I could see her visibly holding her breath. From the corner of my eye I could see the blonde making a move to come to her friend's aid but the other man with the nice hair put his hand out to stop her. Smirking I stared into the brunette's eyes.
Kol let go of the man's neck and Damon immediately went to rub it as he gasped for air. He must have been a vampire as any human who was just choked by Kol would have been long dead. If only. Taking the girl's hand, he turned on his heels only glancing over his shoulder once they were a fair distance away settling into a booth across the way.
I stood there glaring, Kol threw down a fifty reaching for the shopping bags. His other hand came to my lower back guiding me along trying to push me out the door. Kol knew the city girl in me was pushing against myself control to not go over and start a fist fight with the group of drama feeding teens. Damn do I already hate this town.
