Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V Distortion of Dimensions
Chapter 10: The sweet trap
Author's Note: Might as well take this time to describe Mana's look. She has short forest green hair, tied up in the back as a ponytail and she has green eyes. She is about 5' 5 and wears a school uniform, in same year as Yuka.
Anyways, onto the story, and hope you all enjoy!
And now without further ado... Story start!
I was sitting again at the dining table now eating my breakfast which was some lasagna with teriyaki pineapple meatballs. Yummy. "Hey Yuka."
"Hm?" I looked up across, seeing Mana standing on the other side. She bent over and showed her phone to me. "Krystia sent me you in this dress and said something like tell yuka 'be prepared to meet your maker huehuehue' whatever that means." Mana spoke curiously. She then smiled. "I didn't know you were into cute dresses like that. It really fits you."
"…"
"Hm, Yuka…?"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! ERASE IT ERASE IT! ERASE THAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT"
"Hey, Yuka~!" A familiar voice called me as I was standing at my class deck. I glared over to the right.
"Krystia…. You could at least warn me before you send something like that to Mana…"
"Ah, hehe. Sorry, I wanted to give you a little surprise in the morning~" I sighed.
"Ha... Whatever will I do with you…"
"Hey, hey, how do you feel about wearing a dress again?" Krystia asked. My face flushed red.
"No! Absolutely not!"
"Aww… alright then." She said, pouting a little. "That reminds me Yuka,"
"Hm?"
"Shiro said he wanted to see you for something."
"Shiro did…?" I wonder what it was.
"I have to go do something so you go on without me~" Krystia said as she waved bye. I waved back, wondering what her business was but I didn't think about it too much.
I walked up to the rooftop, where I saw Shiro standing at the rooftop fence, looking out at the evening sky. "Shiro." I called out to him. He looked back and smiled warmly.
"Hey Yuka."
"Did you need something, Shiro?" I wondered curiously.
"Hehe actually the reason I left the other day was because I started practicing on Synchro summoning… I'd look pretty pathetic if I couldn't master any summoning so… I was wondering if you could help me with that a bit…"
"mm… Well I just learned it myself recently but sure, I can help you~" I said as I smiled.
"Thanks Yuka that really helps"
"Phew.." Krystia sighed in relief, as she was currently by herself in an empty hallway. "So Seiyu, when exactly will you be here?" Krystia asked the person on the other side of the phone.
"Very soon, I promise!" The girl on the other end replied cheerfully.
"… Well okay then. Just don't get lost or sightsee too much, okay?"
"Yes~!" The girl replied cheerfully. "Well, see you then, Krystia!" The girl exclaimed.
"Wait Sei-" Krystia sighed as the girl hung up, "Haah… Seiyu, you weren't listening at all were you…"
"So basically the feeling's like vroosssshhhh vraaaammm! Happy thoughts!" I expressed happily. Shiro stood a bit tense.
"U-um ok! Vrooosh? Like a motorcycle?"
"No silly! I mean the wind! Hm then again, I guess it would feel nice doing it while riding the winds!" I thought aloud.
"So like this…?"
"No! More like this! No Shiro you're not even using a Tuner monster!"
"A-Ah how did I forget!"
"Hm? What are you two doing…?" I turned around after hearing someone come from the roof stairs.
"Krystia!" I shouted in surprise.
"Oohhhh! Are you guys practicing something!?" She shouted with excitement.
"Yeah, just teaching Shiro how to Synchro Summon." Once I said that, a big grin filled Krystia's face.
"Hehe… Let me teach him the way…!" Oh no.
"U-uuu…." Shiro made a cute squeal. "K-Krystia… Are you sure this is going to work…." Shiro said. Me & Krystia looked at him with red faces & his face was red too. We were currently in Krystia's big dorm room, with Shiro standing in the middle with his maid outfit on.
"C-cute…" I couldn't help but mumble. Shiro caught what I said, averting his gaze and blushing more.
Krystia grinned, "There's nothing like feeling the wind under your skirt as you Synchro Summon!" Me & Shiro looked over to her.
"…"
"Eh, what…? Did I say something weird…?"
On a rooftop within the dark skies, the Phantom stood silently, holding a card in his right hand as he heard the group of three playing around. "It seems like it's time for my debut." The Phantom said, then looking into the distance before fading with the wind.
"aahhh…" Shiro sighed as he fell back onto the big royal bed Krystia had. "Tired…"
Krystia nodded, "mhm, with this you mastered Synchro summoning!"
"Wow, there's a lot more level manipulation than I thought if you wanna master Synchro…" I said, impressed. Krystia looked over and grinned.
"Hehe, I know right. That's why I love it so much!" Shiro looked up and smiled.
"I feel like I've gotten a lot stronger with this… Thanks, Yuka, Krystia." We smiled back at him as he thanked us.
"You're welcome Shiro!" I said, smiling. Synchro huh… The positive feelings that someone has… Who knows, maybe I'll be able to control Xyz too… Gotta stay positive~!
Krystia spoke up, "Still…"
"Hm?" I looked over to her curiously.
"I wonder why your Synchro was so strong, and I'm guessing it was the same for Xyz…" Krystia stated as I nodded in confirmation. I smiled down, cupping my necklace in my right hand.
"It's probably because of this…" Shiro, sat up.
"What's that…?" He asked.
"I got this a while back from my father before he disappeared one day."
"Sakaki Yusho…" Krystia mentioned. I nodded. I rubbed the blue crystal on the necklace.
"I think it's thanks to this necklace that I'm able to have such great powers…"
"That's wrong."
"!?" The three of us looked over tensely to the opened window as we heard someone else's voice.
"You're… The masked phantom!" I gritted my teeth. "What are you doing here?!"
"That necklace is merely used as a medium to efficiently bring out your potential while preventing harm to your own body by limiting the output of such power."
"What…?" I questioned.
"In short," the phantom pointed to the necklace, "that necklace is a limiter, making sure you don't exert too much power to destroy your own body." I looked down to my necklace. So it had such power... "But be careful, so far you luckily managed to withstand Xyz & Synchro without any backlash but… Fusion is a whole different story."
"Fusion…" The merging of my emotions with something else.
"When two great forces with grand desires merge together, it can create a huge fluctuation, your body and your conscious may not be able to handle something so great. There's no telling what could happen after." My eyes narrowed.
"How do you know about these things…?"
"You will know soon enough, Sakaki Yukari." The phantom said before he dropped down from the window, to our surprise. We ran over to look, but when we looked down he was nowhere to be found.
"Okay, what the hell," Krystia spoke, "this is literally the 4th freaking floor."
"Do you guys think he's an ally or our foe…?" Shiro wondered.
"I honestly don't know…"
"Hah…" I sighed as I sat down at my class desk. It was the next day. I thought about the recent events that had happened. Xyz, Synchro, and… Fusion… I had already made the resolve to overcome any obstacles that were thrown at me but Fusion… Will I be able to overcome this big wall or will I be destroyed trying…? Just the thought of what could happen to me in the end scared me.
"Hey girl~!"
"Huh…?" I looked up curiously upon hearing someone's joyful voice, a young male's voice, as they slowly approached me. Walking to me was a guy who had three strokes of red hair in front, moving left, and he also had grayish hair. I stared up at him curiously as he stopped in front of my desk. He was about 5' 7 and had brown eyes, with a big smile on his face as he looked at me.
"A sad face doesn't fit you. A smile looks much cuter on you." To that, I blushed. "Oh I'm not trying to flirt, I just genuinely feel that way." I nodded.
"W-well thank you. And you are…?" The guy bowed elegantly.
"It is an honor to meet you, Sakaki Yukari, the sister of the Master of Pendulums, Sakaki Yuya, and the famously known dancer who won 1st place in the Cosmoship contest and was recognized in several dance leagues at the young age of 6!" I blushed as he mentioned those. There was a fan of me…?
"Um… Thanks…" Honestly, I didn't know what else to say as I felt really nervous and tense.
"My apologies about earlier, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Kusari Tomoya." The student introduced himself, bowing down elegantly once more. I couldn't help but blush at his professionalism.
"You truly are the admiration of my life, Sakaki Yukari!" He exclaimed. "I would love to duel you as soon as possible! Even now, I'm excited to see your duel style!" He expressed joyfully.
"J-just Yuka is fine."
"Then Yuka-san, it'd be an honor to have a duel against you."
"mm… well…" I pondered about if I should duel him or not. I didn't want to risk accidentally hurting him if I can't control my summonings.
"Could it be… you're worried about hurting me?" My eyes widened.
"How did y-"
"Do not worry Yuka-san, for you see…" The guy held a card in his hand, then flipping it revealing a fusion monster. My eyes slowly widened and even more once I realized,
"That's… An 'Engage' monster…" The same type that The masked Phantom uses. I looked up, glaring at him questioningly. "Are you…?" He smiled.
"Indeed I am. I am The masked Phantom, mademoiselle"
"Coming to me directly… what are you planning…?" I questioned.
"I shall answer your questions once you beat me in a duel."
"…" I didn't want to risk it but it was the only way to get any answers. Besides, there was something different about him… "Very well. I accept your duel."
As we walked in the hallway, getting ready to approach the rooftop, Krystia walked up to me and started whispering, "hey, who is that…?"
"The Masked Phantom." I whispered back, glaring and analyzing the person walking meters in front of us.
"Ehhh!?" She whispered loudly in shock. "Are you serious!? What's going on…?"
"He came up to me and offered to duel. If I win, I squeeze out any information that he knows, if he keeps the end of his promise."
"I see… Then I'm coming along."
We were now on the rooftop. I looked forward, feeling tense. The masked phantom… I dueled him once and loss, but in this duel I will evolve even further than before! Kusari Tomoya… I'll make sure to get the truth out of you in this duel!
"Now…!" He started.
DUEL!
