I promise the next "Full House" part will be on its way soon! For now, enjoy this little one-shot!

Hot and Cold

You're wrong when it's right

It's black and it's white

We fight, we break up

We kiss, we make up

"Dropping out of UltraWarp. Welcome to Planet Odym! Would you like to hear more information on Planet Odym?"

"No, thanks Lanos, that won't be necessary!" Hal assured the overly enthusiastic AI in charge of the new Interceptor. Odym was the home base of the recently formed Blue Lantern Corps and home to two of his closest companions. To him, that was all he needed to know. He could worry about textbook info later. For now his pals were waiting for him!

"Keep yer mind on the flight path Jordan!" his fellow GL Kilowog of Bolovax Vik sternly reminded him.

"Yeah, yeah, I gotcha," Hal waved him off. "Professional test pilot, remember?"

"Says the guy who crashed his own test plane."

"Like I said over a dozen times before, the bridge was out and the train was coming straight towards it. And besides, we're here!" Hal countered, gesturing to the growing blue planet in front of him. Skimming just above the mountains, Hal let out a low whistle. He had to admit the Blue Lanterns couldn't have picked a better place to settle down. It could still use a few takeout joints in his opinion but the scenery couldn't be beat.

Landing the ship in its usual parking spot, Hal and Kilowog disembarked and began searching for their friends. It had been a while since the GL dads had seen the kids. Neither would admit to the other that he had secretly jumped at the chance to visit when each received the call. Aya and Razer enjoyed their privacy which was to be expected. Ever since Aya had been rescued, the loving couple had taken full advantage of their time together. While the AI gradually recovered, Razer refused to leave her side for even a moment. Kilowog literally had to carry him out of the room in order to force him to get some sleep. And even that had taken most of his willpower and strength. The kid could be rather stubborn when it came to his robot girlfriend. The point being, the two were inseparable. That's why the GLs were surprised, maybe a little shocked, when the AI emerged to greet them…without her Blue Lantern lover in tow.

"Greetings to you Green Lanterns," Aya said solemnly.

"Good to see ya again Aya!" Kilowog smiled, pulling her into one of his teddy bear hugs.

"It's been some time," Hal replied with a hug of his own. "Sooooo, where's Razer? Is he too focused on the calmness of the lake to come and give us a proper greeting?" he joked.

At the sound of his name, the AI's eyes dropped down towards the pebble at her feet as her brow and lips followed after. "He…does not know you are here. I contacted you without his knowledge."

Hal raised an eyebrow. That was odd. He hadn't heard her use this tone of voice since "that day." Kilowog seemed to pick up on it as well. "What's the matter kid? Did something happen?" he asked.

Lifting her chin back up, Aya activated her jet feet, propelling her off the ground. "I wish to speak with you; however this location is not the best place to converse. Please follow me," she commanded, taking off without looking behind her. Shrugging their shoulders, the GLs had no choice but to fly after her. Aya led them past the lake and through the trees, not saying a word the whole time. Neither Hal nor Kilowog said anything either and continued flying behind her, finally coming in for landing in a little secluded cave, far away from the usual Blue Lantern hangouts. Aya took a seat on one of the stones and waited for the other two to do the same. The GLs took the hint and did just that, both fighting the urge to mention the half of the Manhunter body in the corner. From the look in her eye, Aya meant business.

"So, exactly what did you want to talk about?" Hal inquired, breaking the silence.

"I have brought you here to discuss a very important matter," Aya explained without skipping a beat.

"Go on," Kilowog nodded.

"I…" she started, clenching her fingers into her metal gauntlets. "I…I have reason to fear that Razer intends to sever emotional relations that held the two of us together."

Hal blinked. "Come again?"

"As you put it, I believe Razer wishes to 'break up' with me."

For a second, Hal and Kilowog could only stare in stupor. Did she really just say what they thought said? Hal shook his head. "What?! Aya how…why would you think he'd want to break up with you now, after everything that's happened?!"

"He has shown numerous signs in the recent weeks," she answered.

"Aya, ya know I still owe him a lump on the head from when I pulled him unwillingly from yer room!" Kilowog pointed out.

"True. However, the evidence is difficult to dispute. I find it rather convincing."

"Well, let's hear it!"

"Recently, he has often asked for more 'personal space' in order to 'think over some things.'"

"That ain't unusual. This is Razer we're talking about!"

"Aya, all guys appreciate some alone time once in a while. It doesn't mean they want to break up."

"I am aware. However, when he is alone his face takes on features of seriousness as if he were contemplating something of great importance."

"You mean the face he wears every day?" Hal asked dryly.

Aya shook her head. "No, it was different. And yesterday after his daily meditation he took me aside and said our relationship needs to be reevaluated."

"Wait, he said that?" Kilowog muttered incredulously.

"Yes, and then he spent the rest of the day in his room alone, not wanting to see anyone. I have tried bringing it up but then he always changes the subject."

Hal and Kilowog looked at each other, worry lines etched on their faces. Even they had to admit that this didn't sound very promising. The Volkregian always had been a little aloof but to act this way around Aya of all people after all they'd been through together? Something was definitely off.

"I am at a loss for potential options," Aya sadly admitted. She closed her eyes and bit her lip. The AI was really hurting and it broke her Papas' hearts seeing her like that. Stepping forward, Hal put a comforting hand on her shoulder, causing her to look up.

"Don't worry Aya, we'll talk to him. Maybe we can get him to spill his guts and figure out what's really going on," he said with a sympathetic smile. Aya returned it with a half-smile of her own.

"Thank you."

"You sure this is a good idea Jordan?" Kilowog asked skeptically.

"Of course, why wouldn't it be?"

"I dunno, I just don't like the idea, ya know?"

Hal frowned. "Kilowog, we've got to fix this somehow! You don't really want them to break up do you?!"

"No, of course not! But," Kilowog fumbled a bit, searching for the right words to explain himself. "But if the kid really doesn't think it's workin' out, I mean, we can't force him to stay with her, can we? It just…it just doesn't seem right."

"Let's just find the kid alright? This is probably just a big misunderstanding," Hal muttered, taking off. In all honesty the human was torn. Kilowog had a point, he knew that but at the same time he hated seeing Aya so upset. He could only hope they could clear this up with as little damage as possible. But then again, when it came to those two it could be difficult.

"I see him!" Kilowog cheered, jabbing a finger towards the lake where a familiar blue dot sat meditating. Landing a few meters away, they cautiously approached their teammate. "What now?" Kilowog whispered.

"What do you mean 'what now?'?" Hal whispered back.

"I dunno, do we go up and say hi or do we wait til he's done?"

"Beats me. I guess you could give him a tap on the shoulder."

"Why me?! I ain't gonna bear the brunt of his complaining if he's in a bad mood!" Kilowog hissed.

"Because you're…you know! You're the expert on cranky young alien people!"

"I can hear you!" Razer dropped his hands and opened his eyes. Getting to his feet, the Volkregian pulled his blue hood back, revealing a full head of straight white hair, some strands falling into his eyes. "This is certainly an unexpected visit," he said, crossing his arms.

"Good to see you too Kid!" Kilowog laughed.

"And what brings you two here unannounced?"

"Oh, you know, just felt like checking up on you and Aya. How's everything going between you two?" Hal asked innocently.

"Things are moving smoothly," he replied.

"No problems? None at all?" Kilowog threw out.

Razer narrowed his eyes suspiciously. "Why would there be?"

"No reason, just making sure!"

"Very well then," he nodded before turning to leave.

"But you know," Hal quickly followed, "if there was a problem you could tell us! If you two weren't seeing eye-to-eye, if you've got something you want to get off your chest…"

Razer sighed. "Why are you really here?"

"We just got word that something's going on between you two, that's all," Hal admitted.

"Such as?"

"Well, you're just, you know, something-,"

"Ya can't go through with it!" Kilowog suddenly blurted out.

If anything could have set Razer off, Kilowog had just hit in on the head with a ten ton hammer. The Blue Lantern's brow tightened and his frown deepened even more if that was even possible. "What?" he all but growled.

"This, this thing that you've got with Aya, you can't just throw it away!" Kilowog reasoned.

"What makes you think-?!"

"What he's trying to say is you really should put some thought into this before making a decision," Hal interrupted, hoping he could calm the Volkregian down just a little bit. Unfortunately, his words served to make him even angrier.

"I'll have you know that I've put plenty of thought into this! And you two have no right telling me what I should or shouldn't do in my relationships!" he snapped, his fangs poking out between his lips as he spoke.

"No one's telling you what you can or can't do," Hal said calmly. "We're only suggesting that you wait a little longer and see if this is what you really want."

Razer sniffed. "I'm fully aware of my actions. Aya's and my current relationship cannot continue." As he turned to leave, they tried to stop him but he quickly silenced them when he said, "I will do what should have been done a long time ago. And I won't have you two interfering." Then he was gone.

It was later that evening when they saw the couple break away from the rest of the Blue Lanterns and head further into the brush, unaware that the Green Lanterns were on their tails. Poor Aya looked almost frightened, dreadfully anticipating the moment when her fragile heart would be shattered yet again. Razer on the other hand looked dead serious, determined to fulfill his mission as he lead her along. Finally, when they arrived in a small and peaceful clearing, they came to an abrupt stop. Turning to face her, Razer let out a slow breath.

"Y-you wished to speak with me?" Aya stuttered.

"Aya, this is something I've been meaning to say for quite some time. Not long after we arrived on Odym."

"Since then?"

"Yes. I've thought long and hard about it. Our relationship…it can't go on like this."

Aya's eyes widened and her jaw began to slacken. It was taking everything in her to keep from tearing up. "Razer, I-I do not wish to discuss this now-,"

"No! The longer we postpone, the more difficult this will become later on." He let out another breath and slowly took her hands in his own. "And that's why I-,"

"WAIT!" Out of the trees Hal and Kilowog jumped to the ground right next to their crewmates. "Come on Kid! Ya can't do this to yerselves!"

Aya looked surprised while Razer let out a frustrated groan. "What did I say about interfering?!"

"Razer let's be reasonable! You've finally found happiness! This is going to ruin everything that you guys have done up until now!" Hal was practically pleading at this point. He knew he probably sounded pathetic but he just couldn't afford to let this happen. "I'll admit you two may not be the most perfect couple but you've got so much going for you!"

Razer rolled his eyes. "Will you two please stand aside and let me finish!"

"Now you listen up!" Kilowog towered over him. "I did not put my head on the chopping board just to see you make a dumb mistake and throw everything into disarray! I know I've nagged, and messed with you, but I'm being more serious than ever before. Let me say this: You are entitled to feel and love whoever yer heart beats for-,"

"Oh for the love of Grotz," Razer muttered.

"Just listen!"

"No you listen!" Razer yelled. "I've had it up to here! I've gone too far to back down now and I'm not letting you two stop me from going through with this. Besides, in the end it's Aya's decision as to whether she wants to marry me or not!"

"Oh yeah, well you-…wait, what?" Kilowog's tongue stopped him mid sentence.

"Rrrrr!" Razer palmed his face. "And now you've made me give it away. Thank you for that," he grumbled sarcastically.

After his comment, the clearing that once shook from all the yelling, pleading, and arguing suddenly went still and peaceful. Hal, Kilowog, and Aya all sported similar looking faces of astonishment while Razer's face was still scrunched in annoyance. Another minute went by before someone finally found the guts to speak. "Razer you…your plan was a marriage proposal all along?" Aya asked.

He nodded. "Yes. Forgive me Aya, I did not intend for it to play out this way. I required some time alone in order to think of a time and place to ask you. I hope I did not alienate you."

"I…I…"

"Hey wait a second!" Hal jumped in. "Then what was with you telling us that you planned on dumping her?!"

"Wha-? I said no such thing!"

"Yeah you did! You said that yer's and Aya's 'current relationship couldn't continue'!" Kilowog said pointedly.

Razer shook his head. "And I meant that! On my planet if two individuals who are involved in a romantic relationship are to share residence then traditionally they are supposed to be married. When Aya and I are started living together, that's when I started contemplating marriage since it's more appropriate and we are both well aware of our feelings for each other," he explained, clasping her hand. "That is, if you want to," Razer shyly finished as tinges of color began to blossom on his face. Aya wanted to giggle at how cute he looked!

"You must ask me first!"

"Huh? Oh, right, of course!" he fumbled awkwardly. But before he continued, Razer raised an eyebrow at the GLs. "Ahem! Do you mind?"

"Don't worry, we're leaving now!" Hal announced, grabbing hold of Kilowog's arm and hurriedly pulling him out of there. Though, they stayed close enough to hear every single word spoken.

"Aya," Razer started, "you mean more to me than any power in this galaxy, and without you I would be nothing but a hopeless Red Lantern doomed to a life of misery. Though I may never be worthy of your love, I have hope when I ask, will you do me the greatest honor of all by becoming my wife?"

A happy laugh quickly followed. "Yes!" Aya cried out, her voice filled with elation. "Yes, I have wanted nothing more!"

Hidden in the foliage, Hal snickered. "Are you crying?"

"No!" Kilowog replied. "I just got something in my eye!"

"Yeah, me too," Hal sniffed. "I gotta say, Razer surprised me today. You think you know what's on his mind but find out later you were completely wrong!"

"Tch, kids!"
