Chapter 10

Professor: Hello people! See, not as late for the chapter! ….although I can't say the same for my other stories….I feel really guilty about those. I'm sorry guys! I promise that I will not start a new story and post it online until all of my current stories are caught up! ….except for my Harry Potter Crack Fic…cause…well it is a humorous crack fic that doesn't really have a plot and yeah….whatever…..exception to every rule right?

Anyway….I own nothing!

Amy woke up feeling incredibly refreshed…and comfy. Honestly, this bed she was laying on was probably the comfiest bed in the entire universe. In all of time and space. And that was saying something considering how she traveled.

…but then again, most beds feel amazing when you are really tired after fighting for your life. In fact, this was the first real sleep that she had since her first night here in Hyrule. She would've counted the nights that she spent on Tetra's ship…but a seasick stomach kind of ruined that.

Anyway, she really didn't want to get up. It really was comfy and warm. This blanket was the softest thing that she had ever felt…at least for her arms. Apparently her blanket had ridden up during the night and left her legs bear so that they could freeze. Oh well, she shrugged mentally, too lazy to actually do the task. Instead she just curled her legs up to her chest so that they could share the warmth. This was perfect for her right now…and that perfectness got ruined when a leaf landed on her nose. Her eyebrows came together in annoyance and she huffed, causing the leaf to leave her face. Once again, she was at peace.

…wait a second…why had there been a leaf in the first place?

Amy's eyes flew wide open and she took in the scene around her. What she saw brought back everything that had happened the previous day.

After they had blown up the floor in the Ice Island, Amy and Quill had gone to grab the item in the chest. For such a large chest, Amy didn't know what to expect, certainly not what they had found, but there was no complaining from her department because it now meant they could leave the place that was trying to freeze every part of her.

Inside the chest they found two gold bracelets that looked incredibly flimsy. Sharing a glance with Quill, Amy reached forward to grab them. Sadly, as her hand got only a few inches away from them before they disappeared and reappeared on her wrists. She hadn't even felt them and it took about five minutes before the two friends even found them again. Honestly, it felt like they weren't even touching her…but now she couldn't get them off. They had tried for hours the night before trying to remove them, to no avail. She was stuck with them.

Moving on; after they found the bracelets (obviously the item they needed to get) the temperature started to drop back down to what it normally was…and that made Amy pretty useless. Within seconds she was back to her shivering state and Quill had to fly her out of there (although he was going to have to do that anyway since he blew up the floor).

He got them out of there not a moment too soon. As soon as they exited the hole in the ground, what Amy called the 'ice-shield' went back up around the island, dropping the temperature even more and forcing them to head to Forest Haven as fast as they could since now the cold was affecting Quill as well. He may have had a built in blanket but there is only so much that he can take.

They were able to reach Forest Haven within minutes (which really impressed Amy as the trip took half a day with Link. A Rito was the fastest thing in the Great Sea, not including the wind or sea creatures of course). The Great Deku Tree was glad to have them and let them stay the night to wait for Link, who hadn't shown up yet.

And since they hadn't woken up in the middle of the night, Amy was pretty sure that he hadn't shown up then either.

Anyway, the Great Deku Tree let the two travelers climb onto one of its branches (in which the leaves and branches were so thick that it actually felt more like a cushy floor or a pillow, probably because of magic) to sleep. That was what seemed so comfy to Amy, the leaves. She was surprised that they hadn't kept her awake all night by itching her, but, again thanks to magic, it seemed that the leaves were 'Anti-Itch Deku Leaves'…

She yawned and rolled over onto her other side. She had been incredibly sleep deprived the past few days and really didn't want to get up and face the day. Who knew what dangers they had to deal with as soon as they got up?

Sadly, as she turned around, Amy faced her first danger of the day. A sleeping Quill. That was when she realized what her 'blanket' was. He had apparently woken up in the middle of the night and seen her shivering due to the lack of a blanket and been nice by opening his wing and draped it over her, which explained why her legs were left bare.

…and she was curled up into his side. Suffice it to say, it was a bit too intimate for her, especially since she had just met him a day or so ago.

As she saw him sleeping, his face only a few inches from hers, her mind blanked. What did she do?! The only time that she had been in any position like this had been with Rory and that was….different! It was Rory! She could handle him! It's not like she didn't like Quill, she was his friend! But, once again, bit too intimate for someone that she just met.

She breathed in and out, trying to calm herself down. There was no reason to panic. He had just done something nice, as friends do for one another. Nothing wrong with that…so why was her heart fluttering?

'In and out…in and out…focus on your breathing, Amy' she told herself as she decided her next move. Sadly, Quill decided the next move for her.

The Rito didn't even open his eyes, he just said, "Amy, do you find me so interesting that you have to stare at me as I sleep?"

The red head gave a nervous chuckle at that, "W-What?"

"Just because my eyes are closed doesn't mean that I can't tell when I'm being watched…especially when someone starts breathing very deeply right next to me to calm themselves down."

"Oh…right." Amy said, albeit a bit awkwardly, at least, she thought so. Seriously, what was up with her heart right now?

He cracked open one eye to look at her, "Did I scare you or something?'

"Uh…little bit. Forgot where I was for a moment," She lied, "And then…"

She trailed off when she saw him smirk and realized that he had been teasing her.

She hid a smile and sat up, lightly hitting his arm, "Oh shut up you idiot."

He chuckled as he sat up as well. Amy turned away and hid her slight blush.

Quill folded his wing back and stretched his arms. Like Amy, he had slept rather well thanks to the leaves that they were currently on.

As they woke up and grabbed their weapons, the two of them heard a groan, followed by a deep voice, "Glad to see that you two are awake. You slept rather late."

Amy laughed and sat down at the edge of the leaves, her feet dangling over the edge, "We did not Deku." She had taken to calling him that last night since saying 'Great Deku Tree' every couple minutes was getting to be a hassle to her. The tree didn't seem to mind though.

There was a laugh, "No, probably not for humans. Although my Koroks get up at the crack of dawn each day."

"Yippee for them." She responded.

There was another laugh before their branch started to move and the ground started to approach them. The Great Deku Tree was lowering his branch for them.

As they got closer to the ground, Amy made out a small figure that was on the giant lily pad in front of the tree. As they got closer (the branch was headed for the lily pad) they saw it was Link.

"Link!" she cried in excitement at seeing him.

The small green swordsman waved excitedly at seeing his friends. Within moments, Amy was jumping to the lily pad and hugged him.

"What happened yesterday? You never showed!"

He smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of his head, "Yeah, sorry about that. I got caught up with everything yesterday and ended up spending the night at my grandma's."

Quill raised his eyebrow, "You traveled to Outset?"

Link nodded, "Yep. You see, I was able to get through Fire Mountain pretty quickly and grabbed something called the Iron Boots. I figured that I would get a jump start on the temple before grabbing you guys. So I warped to Outset and sailed to the temple since it was only half a day from there and got passed the tornado that protected it so that we can enter straight away."

"And?" Amy asked. She knew that the boy would never have just stopped there. He was too curious.

He at least had enough shame to look guilty that he didn't wait for them, "And as it turns out I saved us a lot of time. I went in and found this huge stone tablet that had engravings on it. Under the picture were a bunch of music notes. I've found that stuff before and knew that it meant I had to conduct the song for something to happen. I didn't know what but I knew that it meant we could eventually move the stone out of the way and enter the temple. Anyway, I conducted the song with the Wind Waker and met this spirit called Fado."

"Fado? You saw Fado? As a spirit?" Deku interrupted him, a worried look on his face.

Link looked up at the tree and nodded, "Did you know him?"

Deku nodded, a sad look on his face, "Yes. Fado was a Kokiri who used to live in my forest before it was flooded. He was chosen to be the Sage of Wind and left for the Wind Temple so that he could add power into the Master Sword."

"Wait," Amy interrupted, "What the heck is a Kokiri?"

"Kokiri are the ancestors of the Koroks. You see Amy, Kokiri were just like human children, except they didn't age. They stayed as children; the children of the forest. Eventually, as the forest flooded, they adapted and evolved into the Koroks that you met." Deku explained.

Amy nodded in understanding and Deku continued, "Fado was one of them. If he is now a spirit it can only mean his demise. Ganondorf must have sent a monster into the Wind Temple to kill him."

Link nodded sadly, "That's what Fado said."

The Deku Tree groaned sadly at the news, "This is sad indeed. Fado was the last living Kokiri, and a Sage. His demise is what caused the lapse in power in the Master Sword."

Link nodded again, "Yeah. Fado also said that the other Sage, the Sage of Earth, also died which is what stopped all power in the sword."

"So how do we help? What else did Fado say?" Quill asked.

"He said that I had to find the new Sage of Wind, who would have the same instrument as him, and awaken the Sage within him. Then I have to take him to the Wind Temple and kill the monster inside so that the Sage and bring power back to the Master Sword."

"How do we do that?"

"I have to conduct the Sage as he plays the Wind God's Aria, the song I learned when I met Fado." Link explained.

"So basically," Amy said, "All we have to do now is find the Sage and we can be on our way."

Link shook his head, "No need, I already found him. The instrument that Fado had is pretty recognizable."

"Who is it?" Deku asked.

Link looked up at the tree, a sad look on his face, "I'm sorry Great Deku Tree…but its another person from the forest…from here."

Deku sighed, another sad look on his face. Amy felt bad that they were making him so sad so early in the morning.

"I guess it can't be helped. His spirit was tied to the forest and so it makes sense that he would choose the new Sage to be from here…who is it?"

"It's Makar." Link said and Deku nodded sadly as if he had expected it.

He sighed, "Just promise that he will be safe Link."

"He will." Link swore and Amy and Quill nodded, swearing as well.

"Good." Deku said, "He is in his practice room, behind the waterfall."

Link smiled, "Thanks."

Deku didn't respond and the three of them left.

So, when Deku said the room behind the waterfall, he hadn't been kidding.

As they neared the waterfall, Amy heard music nearby. Then, Link jumped to a ledge and got out his grappling hook, Amy and Quill following behind. Then, the small boy latched onto a branch with his grappling hook and swung down so that he faced the rushing water. The music was louder now.

Link started to swing his legs, causing him to go back and forth on the rope. With each swing he came closer and closer to the waterfall until finally, he let go and leapt through it. Amy flinched when he let go, expecting him to collide rather harshly with the wall behind it, but he simply disappeared. Within a moment, Quill had followed him.

Amy took a breath and grabbed the rope that Link had left behind. She took a breath and stepped off the ledge.

Professor: *fanfare music* Yes, yes my lovelies! Another chapter finished! Honestly, I felt like I was reading this more than I wrote it. It's like my hands have a mind of their own. Anyway, as for the temple, I don't think I'm going to get too detailed with the layout of it. I really don't feel like writing each and every room there. But don't worry, I won't forget the important stuff.

As for Fire Mountain and Ice Ring Isle, I couldn't remember which item was at which island so I went with what was best for the story. Forgive me of any mistakes.

Anyway, read, review, enjoy…and go vote in the poll!
