Everywhere I looked there were bodies intermingling together as they moved to the loud music echoing around the hall. The school hall was crowded with people, everyone dressed in different costumes having a laugh.
I looked down at my Alice from 'Alice and wonderland' costume and patted down the corset lightly, ridding any wrinkles. When I was satisfied I took a deep breath and walked into the dark room that emitted growls and other menacing noises.
I looked around trying to spot anyone that I recognised and found that was harder than i thought it would be. I could barely make out any bodies faces, making it extremely difficult to identify anyone. It took me several moments before i caught a glimpse of Bonnie's witch outfit. I smiled inwardly to my self and made my way over to her. I walked up behind her and leaned in closely to her right ear.
"Grrrrrrrr." I screamed. Bonnie jumped and screamed, twisting around to spot me bent over crying with laughter.
"Har har. Very funny." She hissed. It took me several moments to compose myself and wipe away the tears before I straightened out and looked at her. She glared at me and i just shrugged innocently.
"Hey guys." Caroline called from besides me over the loud music.
"Heyy." Me and Bonnie replied simultaneously.
The Halloween bash had been in full blown for about half and hour and i still wasnt drunk, or anywhere close to it. Bonnie, Caroline and myself have been standing by the punch bowl laughing and critizing others costumes. Some of them are pretty ridiculus.
"Cider for the ladies. It's a lockwood special." Tyler's voice boosted from behind us. I turned around and automatically my hands flew up to cover my mouth as i giggled. Tyler dressed with a cape and some pants, nothing else, stood there offering us all a glass of his 'special' cider.
"No way. Last year i was hung over until thanksgiving." Bonnie declined as me and Caroline both reached forward and took one.
"Lightweight. I'm going to drink untill someone is hot enough to make out with." Caroline announced taking a sip of her drink.
"Sounds like a plan." "Sounds good to me." Me and tyler smirked as clinked glasses before downing the content of the glass in one.
Me and Tyler ended up going off together and drinking the night away. Me and Tyler always had a weird kind of relationship. One minute we're best friends and the next we can't stand each other. It's just how we've always been for some reason, but we always have each others back.
"Your turn." I slurred to Tyler who filled up my shot glass with Vodka. He bit his lip slightly as he thought.
"Never have i ever..." He paused looking at me with a smirk. "Been fined for indecent exposure."
I playfully glared at him as i downed my shot. "Drink up aswell, Lockwood." I added with a smirk. "I still cannot believe that you remember that."
"How could i forget?" Tyler chuckled. "I mean, you ran down the street topless."
"I was drunk and you dared me too!" I defended quickly as he again filled up my shot glass.
"Yeah, yeah. You got your own back."
"That i did." I smirk and gulped down the shot quickly. "I'm gunna get back to the party. " I tried standing, but had some trouble, so i clumbsily reached across and used Tyler's shoulders to push myself up. Once standing i swayed and stumbled lightly, before giggling. "I'll seeeeeeee you laterrr." I giggled before walking around the building for the front door.
"Oh, Lillie there you ar-" Elena spoke before pausing and looked at me as i swayed noticable from side to side. "Have you been drinking?"
I pursed my lips and thought carefully about my answer.
"No." I lied stumbling forward only for Stefan to gently catch ahold of me and steady me back normally on my feet. I giggle softly as i looked into his green eyes.
"I know you." I said slightly unsure. I cocked my head to the side and looked closer at him. He seemed to be doing the same. Something flashed in his eyes as he stared at me.
"Of course you know him. It's Stefan." Elena explained slowly.
I shook my head. "I know you."
Stefan seemed frozen in place as he gazed at me. i looked away from him only to have the whole world start to spin again, i giggle as i got myself out of his grip and stumbled my way to Elena's side. She had a funny look in her eye as she watched Stefan.
"Wasssup?" I slurred.
"Vicki's here and Jeremy can't be found. We need your help to look for them. Okay?" Elena informed, her eyes darting around the room analysing everyone that she can see.
"Ohkay." I mumbled. Starting to make my way around.
"Becarefull. And no more drinking. Okay?" Elena's voice shouted from behind me. I turned around slowly and grinned.
"Yes, Sir yes." The words repeated themselves in my mind over and over. "Wait, that doesnt sound right." I mumbled lowly to myself. "Sir, yes sir." I cried when i finally got the words right. I fist pumped the air and laughed as i went looking for Vicki and Jeremy.
I stumbled my way outside, though i side door that lead my too the school buses. I couldnt find Vicki or Jeremy anywhere and all the people constantly shoving and pushing me around was starting to make me feel sick, so i escaped out here to get some nice, cold, fresh air for a while.
I sat down on the floor and lent against the wall breathing in deep breaths trying to overcome my drunkiness. I could already feel a headache starting to make itself known but the dizzyness wasnt going anywhere.
"Ow. You're taking that costume a little too far. What? What is it? Vicki!" A voice cried. A voice i recongized. Jeremy! Found em. I used the wall to push myself up and i jogged over the second bus to find Vicki attaching her fangs to his neck.
"Vicki, no!" I cried out. I tried getting closer.
"Vicki!" Jeremy whimpered as she finally bit down, her fangs piercing his skin. I went to run over there but a warm hand gripped my upper arm tightly, tugging me backwards. Out of the way. Stefan walked around me and headed straight to Vicki and Jeremy. He ripped Vicki off of him and threw her down to the ground. She bared her fangs and hissed up at Stefan as he pushed Jeremy gently over to me. I quickly wrapped my arms around him comfortingly.
"Go. Get inside. GO!" Stefan yelled as he fought Vicki. I Grabbed Jeremy's hand and ran as fast as i could to the door that i came out of . Just as we reached the door Vicki appeared infront of us, i pushed Jeremy behind me, shielding him with my own body just as Vicki lunged at us. Immediatly her fangs sank painfully into my throat and a cry escaped me. The pain was unbearable. It was worse than when Damon fed from me. It felt like she was literally ripping out my throat, piece by piece. I choked back a sob as i tried unsuccessfully to push her away, to fight her.
Vicki jolted forward slightly and pulled back. He face smired with blood began to pale untill it started turning grey, veins began to wiggle under her greying skin and she stared up at me as she began to loose her balance. She fell to her knees revealing Stefan behind her gripping a sharp, pointed piece of wood tightly in his hands. I dropped to my knee with Vicki and placed my hands delicatley on both her cheeks, staring into her terrified eyes.
"You'll be okay now, Vic." I whispered as i felt warm tears cascade steadily down my cheeks. I refused to let her go and wipe them away instead I moved one hand up to her hair and pushed it away from her face. I looked into her eyes through my tears and sobbed as i took in how lifeless she now looked. Her eyes were dull, she had nothing left in them. No tears, no love, no emotions...No life. She was completely and utterly lifeless.
Sobs racked through my body as i stared down at my best friends body. She was never coming back. I'll never be able to talk to her again, i'll never see her again. My tears comtinued their journey traveling the length of my cheeks before splashing lightly on Vickis grey skin. Using my thumb i sofly wiped away the dropletts from her skin, not caring about the blood covering her face and more.
I felt broken. That was the only word to discribe it. Broken. Something in me just snapped, when Vicki took her last break. I dont know what it was, but it was important.
I feel like nothing matters anymore, everything that did doesnt now. I pulled Vicki's body into my arms completely and held her to me. I lent my cheek on her hair and cried.
"Elena, that's not fair." 5 year old Lillie cried out as her sister stole the last juice box from the tray on the park table. Elena turned to face Lillie.
"Yeah it is. I got it first." Was all she replied before skipping off to play with the other kids. Lillie didnt have many friends at school so she gripped her teddy ' Mr wilko' tightly by the arm and walked over to a vacant bench.
Lillie wasnt seated there very long before she was accompnaied by someone.
"I saw that you didn't get a juice box. Do you want mine." A shy timid voice asked from besides her. Lillie shuffled and turned slightly to face the unknown girl. She was cute, dirty blonde hair, hazel eyes, chubby cheeks. To adults she was adorable. She smiled shyly at Lillie and held out her drink out to her.
"Dont you want it?" Lillie asked, tugging 'Mr Wilko' closer.
"No, i dont really like the flavor." The girl replied, pushing the drink alittle closer to Lillie. Lillie contemplated taking the drink for a few moments, before reaching out and gently taking it. She put the straw to her lips and took a few sips, before trying to hand it back. The young girl just shook her head giggling.
"Have it."
"Thank you." Lillie said taking another drink.
The two girls sat in silence as Lillie finished her drink. When she did finish, the unknown girl smiled and shuffled closer.
"Hi, I'm Vicki."
Lillie grinned at Vicki and twisted so that she was sitting cross-legged facing her. "I'm Lillie..." She paused and pushed her teddy forward. "And this is Mr Wilko."
Vicki giggled and said hi.
The two girls spent the entire breaktime laughing and joking around. Vicki also happened to become rather attached to 'Mr Wilko'.
"If ya want we can share him." Lillie suggested as they began they walk back to class. Vicki's smile intensified, she beamed at the idea.
"Really?" She asked excitedly.
"Yep, thats what best friends do." Lillie grinned. Best friend. She liked it.
"Best friends forever." Vicki whispered coming to a halt holding out her pinky to Lillie. Lillie stopped besides her and hooked her pinky with Vickis
"Forever."
"Vicki. Vicki. Vicki." A voice repeated, pulling Lillie from her daydream. She looked around and saw Jeremy crying as he crouched next to Vicki's body.
"Get him out of here." I mumbled to Stefan. And that's what Stefan did. Somehow he got Jeremy out of here and hopefully home. I stayed where i was though. I didnt want to leave her. I couldnt leave her, not after everything we had been through.
"You should go. I got this." A voice spoke from above me. I lifted my head slightly as glared up at Damon through my constant flow of tears. I began to shake in anger.
"You did this. This is your fault. " I hissed through my teeth. Gently i layed Vicki down on the floor and stood up. The alcohol having worn of, allowed me to stand steadily.
"You did this to her. You killed her!" I cried and lunged. I clenched my right hand into a fist and swung with as much force as i had. I heard a satifying crunch and withdrew my fist, immediatly craddleing it to my chest as searing pain shot though my knuckles.
"People die around you!"
"You need to leave. Your wound is bleeding." He said through clenched teeth, his eyes narrowed at my neck. My hand shot up and covered it backing away from him and back to Vicki's body.
I knelt down next to her.
"You're free now, Vic. Don't you go forgetting about me..." I paused as more tears welled up. "We're best friends rememeber. Forever."
I took awhile getting home. I walked. I couldnt stand being near anyone at the moment. I just couldnt. All the memories of Vicki swirled around my mind, each and everyone, playing themselfs.
When i did finally get home, Elena came running at me. Stefan stood behind her. Immediatly she had her arms wrapped around me. I just stood there, arms by my side, face as emotionless as i could manage with the never ending stream of tears that continued to fall. I was stiff, tense and i just wanted to go to bed.
"It's done." Damon said as he closed our front door behind him as he stepped out. Elena quickly let go of me and turned to him.
"I need you to do one more thing."
"What?"
"Lillie." Was all she had to say to him and he seemed to understand. I stood their staring at them, not understand what was going on as Damon started to advance towards me. I started backing away untill Elena stopped me.
"He just wanted to talk to you. "She whispered from behind me. I felt her fingers at the back of my neck, i looked down and my necklace was missing. I didn't get a chance to do anything about it before Damon was stood right infront of me. I felt my self tense up as he looked into my eyes. His pupils dilating.
"Vicki decided that she needed to get away. So she packed up and left, only telling you through a text message which you happened to delete. She said that she wasnt sure if she was ever coming back and that you shouldnt look for her. You'll miss her but you know that it's best that you let her go." His eyes never strayed from mine the whole time he was talking. When we finally broke eye contact, i couldnt remember what we had been talking about or what had really happened tonight either and i knew was that Vicki and decided to up and leave.
"I'm...I'm just going to head to bed. I'll see you in the morning. Good night." I said to Elena before walking past Damon and Stefan and straight in doors and upstairs.
Once in my room i let my mind wonder. What had happened today? My mind was all messy. None of my memories seemed to make any sense. The more i tried to focus on certain memories the more my head would start to hurt. I decided that maybe sleep would help,so that what i did. I got into bed and let my dreams take me away.
