Love In The Open: Infinity Rising

Chapter 9: Gazelle, Meet Infinite...

As Sonic quaked at the sound of his adversary's voice bellowing throughout the world, Infinite

spoke calmly to him. "Come on, Sonic. Where's that confident, happy-go-lucky, son-of-a-hedge

demeanor I've gotten so used to seeing over the years?" Sonic didn't respond, for he was still

paralyzed by the very source of his fear; that which was Infinite. "Oh, what's that? You're looking

for one of your pathetic 'friends' to help you?" Infinite said, putting his hands over his head and

looking intently around the room as if to search for them. Then he jolted up as if to make a

realization. "Oh wait, that's right. Your friends are busy right now. Hiding, shivering, waiting for

the inevitable end of this little visit." he said. And it was true. Everyone around Sonic seemed to

be either held in place by the pure, evil terror that was Infinite; or were shivering at the meer

sight of his persona. The physical strength he carried with him were evident in the numerous

amount of veins he had protruding from his entire body. Although he wasn't what anyone would

call a giant, he was still a foot taller than all of them (except Gazelle, because of her horns.) As

a Zoroark, he had pointy ears that looked like the tips of arrows. His fur was as black and void

as a dark night while his fur shone like stars in the night; while his long, furry, blood-red hair had

five black spikes made from fur protruding from it and was held together at the bottom with a

metallic scrunchie. His steel, cold, icy blue eyes left a lasting impression that this villain; was

truly a force to be reckoned with. Yes. The sight, the actions, the villainy, the voice; all of him

was the very essence of fear and almost all of them were cowering. Almost all of them. While

everyone in the hospital room were shivering out of fear for the fate of their own lives; Gazelle's

concern were solely for two things. Her Sonic, and her Zootopia. That concern for those things

she held very close to her heart far beyond outweighed any fear for herself. She learned from

her mistake last time in letting her be conformed by anything. By fear, by anxiety, by

expectations. Anything. But no more. No more. She steeled herself for whatever would have to

happen. Whether it would be a hard-fought fight or a difficult conversation; she would never let

her true love go down and be paralyzed so easily by this monster, she had been training every

chance she had to be able to fight by Sonic's side for him if need be for some time now ever

since the last time they had met and she was not going to let that go to waste. From now on,

only her and what she truly cherished and believed in would shape her actions. She marched

towards Infinite, with hooves clinched and determination in her eyes. "Well, well; if it isn't Sonic's

girlfriend." he said, with glee in his voice. "I don't know if you've noticed, but I think your

boyfriend is a man of fear." he taunted, glancing over at Sonic. "A man who's weak." He then

turned to Gazelle, who he noticed was looking rather ticked off at him. "If you truly known who

he is, then you'll know that he is anything but a coward!" Infinite just yawned at that. "My, what

a source of conviction you have." he replied. "I know him a lot better than you think, my dear.

You see…" but before Infinite could go on, he was interrupted by a very angry and cross

Gazelle. "I may not know what you know what you know about him; and I'll definitely sit through

your little pre-planned villain monologue if I have to. But know this, Infinite, nothing you say will

make me waver from my loyalty to him. At all!" Infinite smiled, unphased. "Good. Because what

you'll hear will change your quest, and your life, forever!"
