~LINE BREAK LOVELY LINE BREAK~

"What do you think you're doing?" a voice asked. Tom groaned, pinched a soft spot on the person's inner arm, and was released. "Hey, Willa," he said, turning around. "Nice to see you. Or perhaps not," he added, seeing that there didn't appear to be anyone there.

Willa sighed and shimmered into visibility. "Hello to you too, son of Chaos."

Tom shrugged. His parentage never really disturbed him anymore when it was brought up. Willa- the same shy girl he'd known, but now far stronger than she had once been- was one of the few people who knew, but she also distrusted him because of it. Not that he minded. Only a few people were accepted into Kate's inner circle, and Tom and Willa had been two of them. "Aren't you forgetting your manners?" he teased.

Willa rolled her eyes and pushed past him, shoving her hand into her pocket. Tom raised his eyebrows and silently held up her keys, smirking. He'd stolen them mid-conversation, using a little time-freeze spell one of Will's friends had taught him. Most adults would be disturbed by the causal use of their power, but none of Kate's friends would much care.

Willa snatched the keys from his hand, breaking off his train of thought, and fit a key in the lock. The door swung open, revealing hardwood floors and sparse furnishings. "This is your place? Nice digs," Tom commented, lazily flopping into a dining-room chair. Willa gave him a dirty look. "Shut it, Tom, you've been here before."

Tom yawned. "Whatever. Now make me some tea, fair maid," he commanded.

"Make it yourself," Willa shot back before disappearing into the bathroom.

Tom untangled himself from the chair and stumbled into the kitchen, annoyed. "Tea bags, tea bags…" he muttered to himself. After an age of searching, he had two steaming mugs of tea on the dining-room table. Just to be cruel, he reached over to Willa's cup and pulled all of the heat out as she was coming out of the bathroom. "So can I spend the night?" he called to her.

"Depends. Did you freeze my tea?"

Tom cursed quietly and reheated the tea.

~LINE BREAK~

So it's 9:18 and Mom wants me to get ready for bed, so goodbye and I hope you enjoyed it.

Song of the chapter: "The Beautiful Letdown," Switchfoot. This also goes for the next chapter, as well.
