Ad regarding who Catherine is...I have received certain answers but you will have to wait to see who she is;-);-)

Chapter 10-Kiss and Panic

The rangers really got to know Catherine a lot. She was a very sweet girl, not too cheerful but happy-go-lucky. Jayden was very happy that Catherine got to interact with everyone. Luckily there was no nighlock attack that day, so the rangers got free time and Ji too asked them to skip training for a day and enjoy, get to know a person from the outside world. Ji, too was happy to see that Jayden finally found someone he could someday call his true love and maybe make her his wife, well that was not even a thought now but maybe it could be true one day.

Ji saw from the door to the living room that Jayden was laughing whole-heartedly when Catherine cracked a joke and Ji could not help but smile to himself as well seeing Jayden happy and forgetting his samurai duties for a while. Little did he know that Jayden was happy for some other reason. Emily was sitting there too and smiling, happy for both Jayden and Catherine. But again her thoughts came to her mind and started haunting her. She again felt the same anxiety and fears she has faced for so long. She looked at Catherine and then to herself. She didn't feel good. She then looked at Jayden and then again at Catherine, and pictured mentally them standing close with Catherine in Jayden's arms. She thought no one could be better for him than Catherine, and Catherine deserved to be with him, and as if her sadness is gonna change anything. Jayden still hates her and she didn't know why. Now she was okay with Catherine, not that she befriended her because she wanted to talk to Jayden again, but still if she was okay and friendly with his girlfriend, what's the deal then?

Suddenly, Mike smirked and came up with a sudden question in between laughs,"Hey Jayden, is Catherine your first girlfriend?"

Jayden's face turned as red as his ranger color and he looked down, too shy to answer, after all he was new to all this.

"Mike!", Emily scolded him.

"What? Can't I ask our leader this thing?", he said looking at her while she just shook her head.

"It's okay Emily, he can ask such thing and Jay, don't be a shy doll, anyways, yeah I am his first girlfriend and he is my first boyfriend", Catherine said simply smiling.

"Have you guys kissed yet? I mean knowing Jayden, he is the shy type", Mike said with a laugh as Jayden's eyes went wide.

"Mike, will you please stop?"

Emily was getting irritated as the talk was growing more and more Jay-Cath centered.

"Come on Em, please, if you don't like here, you can leave", said Jayden irritated and a look of hurt again flashed on Emily's face.

"Jay, stop it, idiot, Em, it's okay, ignore him!", said Catherine scolding Jayden and smiling at Emily.

Jayden shut his mouth and Kevin laughed saying,"Our fearless leader afraid of a girl?"

"Love can do anything Kev", said Mia winking at him and both looked at each other smiling while everyone cleared their throats.

"We haven't kissed", said Jayden but immediately realized that it was a wrong answer at that moment when he saw Mike smirking.

"Then do now", Mike said as Jayden and Catherine gasped.

"Mike we can't",said Catherine blushing.

"Oh please Jayden, I or rather we want to see how lovy-dovy you can be", Mike said and Mia and Kevin too nodded while snickering.

"Guys No! Ji is here, I mean we are not on a date", Jayden said embarrassed glancing a look at Emily who has converted into a stone statue the moment Mike asked them to kiss. She looked hurt.

Just as Jayden said this, Ji came out from one of the rooms with a bag in his hands and said,"I am going out children, for some hours, the food is ready, Catherine, you will stay, right?"

"Why can't she stay here only?", Mia said and Emily looked at her as if she was crazy. Mia immediately understood that no matter how fine Emily seemed she was hurt a lot.

"Well, I don't need to...", said Catherine.

"Oh yes, you can Catherine, I trust you with our secret since you are with Jayden, will it be okay?", said Ji smiling. Catherine was too familiar to him.

"Um...okay with me...but is it fine Jayden?", she asked looking at him who nodded.

"As long as he is not distracted", said Mike and everyone laughed and Jayden and Catherine blushed.

After this Ji left and again Mike smirked.

"What Mike?", asked Mia noticing his expressions.

"The path is clear...Ji is out", he said gesturing at Jayden and Catherine.

Everyone shouted and Jayden was in deep confusion. How can he kiss Catherine? She was...um...nevermind.

He looked at Catherine who was equally confused.

"Um..okay", said Jayden nervously and nodded at Catherine, both seeing no other alternative.

Jayden and Catherine got up from their seats, both super nervous while everyone smiled, well everyone except Emily whose eyes were wide and she was breathing heavy short breaths holding or rather crushing a cushion in her hand.

Jayden came closer to Catherine and smiled looking at her green eyes. Blue eyes met the green ones and they held each other's hand. Emily was growing more and more horrified and disturbed. She was in deep panic, no way can she stand a PDA, and that too Jayden with some other girl, no matter how much she liked Catherine.

Jayden put his hands on Catherine's waist and Catherine smiled showing her white teeth looking at him and her hands went behind Jayden's neck. She closed her eyes as both started to lean in. Emily was now red in panic and she saw no alternative to escape it or to stop it. One option she had...which she readily implemented.

Just as Jayden's lips were about to meet Catherine's , a cushion came out of nowhere and flew in between them and both got separated.

"Stop!", came the voice of the Yellow Ranger who had tears in her eyes and was heavily breathing. She ran away clearing her tears.

"Hey! Not fair! You are always a hindrance", shouted Jayden while Catherine hit him in the abdomen with her elbow.

"Shut up! Em? Stop please", Catherine scolded Jayden and ran after Emily.

"I will also come", said Mia going after Catherine but was held by Jayden.

"It's okay, nothing is wrong, come on, Cath will handle it", he said stern without any emotions.

"Jayden? How can you change so much?", said Mia seeing the unaffected Jayden by Emily's crying.

"I haven't changed a bit..besides she is just a crybaby! Come on, let's head for dinner", he said leaving and all of them had to follow though they didn't agree with him a bit.

Meanwhile in Emily's room, Emily was sitting on the bed hugging her knees and crying when there came a soft knock on the door.

"Em?". It was Catherine.

"Go away!", she shouted.

"Em please, let me in, I am sorry!", she said as if begging.

"The door's open", Emily said finally because Catherine sounded just like Serena to her and Emily didn't know why.

Catherine came inside and looked at Emily who was looking out of the window and clearing her tears. Catherine got seated on the bed beside her and cleared her tears.

"I am sorry", she said softly.

"Why are you sorry?", asked Emily in a groggy voice, confused on why Catherine was sorry, just because Catherine loved Jayden?

"I...um...actually we shouldn't have tried to kiss before, I mean not everyone likes PDA...I am sorry Em", she said and again Serena came to Emily's mind. Catherine just sounded like Serena again when she used her nickname though it was given by Jayden.

"No, it's fine...that's not the problem", said Emily again looking out of the window and sighing.

"Then tell me what it is", said Catherine and Emily looked at her and saw compassion and warmth in her eyes just like Serena had when Emily used to get hurt and was crying. All of Catherine's gestures reminded her of her sister and it hurt her even more that she is far away from her.

"I can't... I mean there is no problem", she replied shaking her head.

"Emily? Look at me", said Catherine softly lifting Emily's chin to meet her eyes. Emily looked at her and tears escaped her eyes as she hugged Catherine with all love she had and started crying her eyes out.

"Shhh...Em...it's okay", Catherine said holding back her own tears because she knew Emily was suffering, but she never imagined it to be upto this level.

Emily continued crying and saying,"It's all my fault, everything is my fault!"

"Emily, tell me everything, you know you can trust me", Catherine said softly rubbing soothing circles on her back.

"Catherine, the problem is..."
