-ajolnac.5: I have no plans on stopping. I have been bummed out reading a good story, only for it to not have an ending, & never will. I will not leave a single story of mines without an ending. This story will go pass 20 chapters (I have no idea how long this will be), I have 5, or so, arcs in store for this story, & I already did a rough draft of how I want to end it all.
Chapter 10: The Truth
"This is News Man Tucker with the five o'clock news today." the elderly man shuffled his papers on his large table, "Just about two hours ago, a Royal Woods school bus driver had lost control over his vehicle, swerving into oncoming traffic before winding up in a nearby lake. Luckily none of the students suffer any major harm, the bus driver was the only one harm in the incident, being knocked unconscious upon collision, but he's being taken care of at the Royal Woods Hospital."
The elderly man took a sip from his glass of water, "It is currently unknown how the school bus got out of the lake, the police investigating the scene are refusing to answer any questions in regard to the mystery. It's a miracle that all those kids are safe, & sound, that's really what matters here."
"A local Royal Woods Middle School student, whom called nine-one-one, had decline to any interviews at the moment, along with another Royal Woods Middle School student at the scene. No words from the students aboard the bus either in this case, but the police have said they will get more information at a later time."
He shuffled his papers once more
"In other news. A fisherman has capture footage of what he believe to be a mermaid." the old man rolls his eyes, "These stupid rednecks. Martians are real. There's a Batguy in Gotham." he whispers to himself shaking his head, but before he could go on, Lynn Sr turns the TV off.
The father figure of the house has been sitting on the sofa watching the news, with his two youngest daughters next to him
While the majority of the family were upstairs at the moment, currently trying to get Lincoln to come out of his room, after the incident he just took off, & locked himself in his room, not even Lucy can sneak in there.
Lynn Sr sighed rubbing his head, after his wife called him about the bus crashing into a lake, he just ran straight from work, & drove like a mad man to make sure his babies were okay.
"Hello!?" a women voice yelled from outside the front door, followed by her banging her fist on the door
"Who the heck is at the door?" Lynn Sr got up, & open the door slowly, hoping it wasn't some newsperson, or officer
To his surprise it was a middle aged women, an out of shape man, & some redhead kid with his arms crossed looking back at the car they came in
"Is this the Loud house?" the women asked
"Um... yes. I'm Lynn Loud." he said
The out of shape man extended his hand to him, "I'm John Campbell." the two men shook their hands, "This is my wife, Susan Campbell." he pointed at his wife, who waved back, "And that's my son, Chandler Campbell." he pointed over at his son, who looked like he really didn't want to be here
"It's a pleasure to meet you all." Lynn said scratching the back of his head, "Would you like to come on in?" he asked, kinda hoping they would say no, cause this guy looked dirty, & possible needed half a dozen showers.
The family entered his home, "Just make yourself at home." he said faking a smile, knowing he's going to have to clean whatever they touch
"So this is what poor looks like." Chandler said looking around the living room, his parents either didn't hear him, or didn't care what he just said, but Lynn heard the little snot face kid
Lisa remember the red hair kid from the bus, she had a bad feeling about this, but before she could voice her thoughts, "Lisa, can you take Lily with you, & get your mother for me."
"Sure thing." Lisa took Lily, & walked upstairs
"Would you like something to drink?" he asked his guests
"Do you have any Sparkling Apple Sangria?" the mother asked
"Um... we have apple juice." Lynn said feeling awkward right now
"Dear, just don't." John told his wife, "Oh. My bad." she said looking around the room
Rita walked down the stairs, seeing the guests in her living room, "Hello, I'm Rita. It's a pleasure to meet you guys." she said smiling
The Campbells sat on the sofa, while the Loud parents stood in their living room
"So... what brings you guys here?" Rita asked
"My son was on the bus today. The one in the news." he states, making both the Loud parents feel uncomfortable
"He was saw what your son did. He pushed that bus out of the lake."
"Kids, they say the darndest of things. Don't they honey?" Lynn Sr said jokingly
"Kids these days." Rita smiled, "Just last week our darling Lana thought she saw a bear downtown, but it was just a really hairy guy."
"You calling my son a liar?" John got up face to face with Lynn
"I didn't say that." Lynn said backing away from the now scary man, fearing for his life
"I'm just saying that whatever your kid saw was a-" "An act of God." Susan interrupted Lynn
"What?" Rita asked raising one of her eyebrows
"This was providence." she went on
Lynn, & Rita, exchange a look, both thinking this women isn't... alright.
Rita walked around the living room, "I think you're blowing things out of proportion, Mrs. Campbell." she sat down in the chair
"No, I'm not, Mrs. Loud. My son wasn't the only one who say what your kid did. That Santiago girl saw, along with some of my sons friends, almost everyone on that bus saw him."
"This isn't the first time Lincoln has done something like this." Rita, & Lynn, both gulped fearing that Lincolns secret will get out
Meanwhile upstairs the girls, almost all of them, were trying to get their bother out of his room
The vents in the hallway open, Lucy crawled out dusting herself off
Luna walked over to her younger sister, "Any luck?" she asked, Lucy shook her head in defeat, "He's locked up on the other side. I'm sorry. Sigh." she lowered her head, & sat down next to Leni in the hallway
"Lana, any luck with his door?" she asked
"No." she scratched her head, "Its like the door hinges are melted on the other side, I can't use my tools probably."
"Can't we just break his door down?" Lynn Jr asked rolling up her shirt sleeves getting ready to tackle his door down, she charged at it, but the moment her skin made contact with the door, she shivered, & fell back
"God damn! It's freezing!" she felt like she was just hit with a small blizzard
The girls looked at the door seeing ice forming on the wood, "Jesus." Luan said
"Lincoln, open up!" Luna yells fearing her little brother is freezing to death
"Can't we use one of Lisas deathrays to blast the door!?" Lola shouts
"I would if our parental units hadn't confiscated all of my 'lethal' devices." Lisa said examining the ice on the door, "Hmm, negative ten degrees Celsius." she was amazed, he's never produced anything this cold before, that she knows of.
"Poo-poo." Lily said sadly reaching for Lincolns door from Lenis arms
"What about the cameras in there?" Lana asked
"I got rid of all of them." Luan lied, looking away from her sisters, "I had the cameras in everyones room, & bathrooms, shut down." Lisa lied
Luna looked her roommate in the eyes, "Luan... I know when you're lying, sis." she crossed her arms
"Dang it." Luan said heading to her shared bedroom with some of her sisters, Leni stayed behind with Lily in case he came out
Luan opened up her laptop, & clicked around, pulling up the surveillance feed from every room in the house
"You are getting rid of all of them after we get our bro out of his room." Luna said giving her roommate an angry glare, "Yeah!" the rest of the girls agreed, "There goes half of my comedy material." Luan said clicking the feed to Lincolns room
"Huh?" she said looking at static
"What is it?" Lana asked
"He broke it..." Luan lowered her head, she was just going to sell them, those cameras won't cheap
In the back of the room, Lisa was examining her surveillance feed in Lincolns room from her tablet, her eyes go wide as she too got only static on his end, from all four of her cameras she had placed in his room, "How did he find my micro cameras?" she was surprise, those cameras were less than half the size of a common housefly.
Lola snatched her younger sisters tablet, seeing the same thing on this device as Luans laptop, "I knew it! You still have your cameras!" Lola points at Lisa angrily, while giving the tablet to her other sisters
Back in the hallway, Leni was sitting in front of her brothers door, with Lily on her lap
"Inkin." Lily said reaching for the door, "Lincoln, please come out." Leni said, "You're like not in any trouble."
On the other side of the door, Lincoln was sitting with his knees in his chest, facing the door, using his x-ray vision to see his sisters, he just couldn't bring himself to speak, his voice leaving him when he opens his mouth
He sighs, before reaching for a sheet of paper
Leni saw a piece of paper being slipped from under his door
"Linky?" she asked picking up the paper, reading it out loud, "I'll be back later." she frown hearing the sound of his window being open, "Be safe, Lincoln." she said sadly, "I will." she heard Lincoln said softly from the other side of his door, she smiled slightly hearing his voice
Lynn Sr walked into the kitchen to prepare some tea for himself, his wife, & their guests, but his eyes wonder to the backyard, he sees his son had just jumped down from his bedroom window, "Lincoln?" Lynn Sr asked to himself, he saw his son went wide eye, almost like a deer in the headlights, then he just took off in the blink of an eye.
He looked back in his living room, seeing his wife looking rather uncomfortable with these people
Walking back into the room, he open the front door, "Lynn?" Rita asked
"Get out." he said harshly towards the Campbells
"How dare you take that tone with me!" Mr. Campbell got up, face to face, with Lynn
"I said get the hell out of my house. Right now!" he yelled, his face red with anger
"Where's the little freak anyway?" Chandler commented, ticking off the Loud parents even more
"Mrs. Loud, I believe your husband should apologize for his outburst." Mrs. Campbell said peacefully
"I think you didn't hear what my husband just said." she got up, & stood next to Lynn, "Get the hell out of our home."
"Come on dear." Mr. Campbell said, "We know what we were dealing with these people. Have you seen their kids for Christs sake?"
"What was that?" Rita asked, her right eye twitching
"That you people are just as screwed up as your kids." he said, "That beaver girl of yours belongs in a Mental Asylum. The dyke you call a daughter needs to go to church. Einstein is probably making a Frankenstein in the basement." before he could on, Lynn Sr punched him right in the face knocking him on his ass, breaking the coffee table in front of the couch
Mr. Campbell had his hands over his nose, feeling his blood rushing out of it
"You are dead!" he got back up, & tackled Lynn Sr to the wall
"Get your hands off my man!" Rita jumped on Mr. Campbells back, & starting hitting his head, "You get off mines you cunt!" Mrs. Campbell pulled at Ritas hair, just as Lynn Sr kicked Mrs. Campbells leg. The four parents fighting in a cloud of dust
The noise downstairs, had attracted the rest of the family to the bottom of the stairs, along with the pets, all witnessing their parents beating the shit out of the two strangers in their living room
"Great." Chandler rolls his eyes, "There's the rest of the weirdos." Lynn Jr leapt in the air, knocking the red hair kid down, as she started kicking his ass
"Get him Lynn!" Lana cheered for her older sister
"What the hell is literally going on!?" Lori asked out loud
Over at the McBrides household, Clyde was laying on his bed reading one of his Ace Savvy comics
"It would be awesome to have superpowers." he said to himself, unaware of his best friend flying outside his bedroom window whom tapped against the glass, gently hoping he doesn't shatter it
"Huh?" Clyde looked at his window seeing Lincoln floating
"Lincoln!?" Clyde shouts opening his window up, so he can get in
Before Lincoln could even touch the floor, Clyde launched himself at the floating boy, hugging him as tightly as he could
"I'm so happy you're okay!" Clyde said, "What you did today was amazing, Linc!"
"Clyde..." Lincoln tried to speak, but his best friend just wouldn't shut up
"It was like a real life comic book! Or a somewhat decent live action superhero movie!" he went on
"Clyde." Lincoln said again
"You were like Ace Savvy! I mean it would've looked way cooler if you lifted the bus with just one hand while flying over the lake. Not that I'm being ungrateful, it's just so amazing! You were like a Superhero!"
"Clyde!" Lincoln shouts finally gaining his friends attention
"Oh... sorry, Lincoln." Clyde lowered his head
"Clyde, I actually came here to talk about that..." he sat down on his friends bed
"About you saving everyone on the bus?" Clyde asked
Lincoln nods, "Yeah. I can't really talk about it with anyone else."
"Well, I'm here for you, Lincoln." Clyde said patting his friends back
"It's just... when the bus went into the lake, & started to fill up with water. I saw my little sisters, they were scared, utterly terrified. I mean I was too, but I know I shouldn't be cause I'm... me. I had to save them. I was going to save my sisters. That was the only thought going through my head at the time." he takes a deep breath, "But during it all... I actually... I was actually really happy." he smiles lightly, "I was like Ace Savvy. I was saving people, Clyde." Lincoln looks up at the ceiling still smiling, "And I hate myself for feeling like that when everyone else on that bus were thinking they were going to die. I wasn't even thinking about everyone else. Everyone screaming for help, & I had an honest to God smile on my face." he lowers his head ashamed of himself, his tears falling onto the floor
Clyde comforts his best friend, thinking about lessons he has learn from Dr. Lopez that could be helpful to his friend
"It's okay, Lincoln. You have every right to be happy. You saved everyone on that bus. You saved me, & your sisters. You shouldn't be beating yourself up for being the hero. Imagine how Ace feels every time he saves someone. He's probably happy cause he stop something bad from happening, & helping all those good people."
Lincoln wipes his eyes with his hands, "Thanks... thanks for being my friend, Clyde." Lincoln smiles
"I'm your best friend, we're always going to be there for each other." the pair fist bump, but Clyde winces feeling his hand throbbing in pain, "Ow!" he grips his right hand
"Sorry..." Lincoln says, "I still need more practice. I'll get the ice pack." he ran to the kitchen, & back, in under a second
"Hey... um.. Clyde." "Yeah?" "You really think I was like Ace Savvy?" he looked away, "Only if you think I'm like One-Eyed Jack." the pair chuckles, unaware that the bedroom door open, "Clyde?" Howard poked his head in through the crack, "Lincoln?" he was surprise to see his sons best friend in their house without him noticing, "Hey, Mr. McB." Lincoln waves to his friends dad
"I'm so sorry, I didn't know you were staying here. I can go ask Harold to set another plate at the table for you."
"It's fine. I just stop by to see how Clyde is doing after today."
The moment Lincoln stopped talking, Howard cried hugging Clyde as tightly as possible, "My poor baby boy!" he was crying rivers of tears, "Dad, I'm fine now." Clyde said
Harold walked into his sons room, "Howie..." he warps his arms around his husband, & their son, "Everything's okay now. Our precious boy is safe, & sound.", "I know, but I should be driving him to, & from, school so nothing bad happens to him!" Howard wept
"Help, Linc." Clyde whispers to his friend while he was being crushed in his dads arms, & drowning in his never ending fountain of tears
"Sorry, pal. I better head back home." Lincoln points out the room, "See you later, Clyde." he runs out of the house
"Lincoln!" Clyde yells, "Oh my God that's right! I could only imagine how awful Lynn, & Rita, must feel." Howard said crying more now
Lincoln walked past Mr. Grouses house when he noticed the front window was smashed open
"Oh God!" Lincoln shouts rushing to his house bursting the front door open, breaking it in half upon contact, he saw his family all gather around the living room, his parents had bruises all over their bodies, & their dad had a nasty looking black eye that he was treating with a frozen bag of peas over his face
Everyone had their eyes on him, "Um... I'm sorry about the... um... door." Lincoln spoke slowly, "What happen to you guys?" he ask his parents
"Wait til you see the other guy." Lynn Sr chuckles before groaning in pain in his neither regions, "She got me good..." he let out in pain, "Well I got her good." Rita remarked with a smile remembering how she kicked that bitches ass after kicking her man in the dick
Sighing, the Loud father looked at his son, "Lincoln, I'm glad your back now. We need to talk. Family meeting everyone." he groans again still hurting, "Dear, can you get me another bag of peas from the freezer?" he asked, "Sure thing." she kissed his forehead, & headed to the kitchen.
"Your mother, & I, have already had this talk with Lori a few years ago." he spoke causing Lori to drop her phone in shock
"Wait, what! You're going to actually tell them!?" she pointed at her sisters
"Tell us what?" Luna asked feeling concern, the other sisters, minus Lisa, were all feeling the same way.
Lisa knows where this family meeting was heading to
Lincoln thought they were going to tell them about his gift, but he had no idea Lori knew. Is that why she hated him he thought. He was hit with a wave of fear that they all will hate him. He unconsciously starts to shake on the spot, this however doesn't go unnoticed by the family
"Lincoln?" Rita asks feeling awful seeing her baby boy looking like he's about to have another freakout after all these years
Lynn Sr looks at his wife, she looked like she was having doubts now, but they agreed this would be best for the family, at least that's what they hope. Lori on the other hand is hoping that they'll finally get rid of him once they learn what he really is.
"Lincoln..." the father was struggling to say what he needs to say, "You're adopted." he spoke
The room fell silent for a few seconds, but it felt like minutes of pure silence in the house that is usually loud
"Wh-wha-what?" Lincoln said looking at both his parents in disbelief
Leni, Lynn Jr, Lucy, Lana, & Lola, were all shocked to hear what their parents just said, Luna, & Luan, looked at each other, they remember the day Pop-Pop brought Lincoln into their home. The awful thought of his real birth parents coming to take their brother away hit the two of them
"Luan!" Lola yells, "This better not be some sort of prank!" she glared at her older sister, "Yeah!" Lana agreed crossing her arms, "This isn't funny." "Like any of her jokes are?" Lori added
"Hey I am very funny!" Luan said looking at Lori, "And no... this isn't a prank, or a joke." Luan said sadly rubbing her arm
"You're lying!" Lola shouts, "She isn't lying, sis." Luna said, "Pop-Pop found our little bro in the woods, & gave him to Mom, & Pops." she got a little teary eyed, how could some heartless bastards leave him there
"I... I was abandon?" Lincoln spoke softly, gaining the attention from his family
"Son..." Lynn Sr spoke
"You told me the first lady delivered me." he looked down not wanting to look at any of them in the eyes, "I always thought that sounded like something out of someones stupid fanfic." he sniffles trying not to cry
"Lincoln, you're still our son." Rita said, "You're my baby boy." she starts to weep
"There's still more..." Lynn Sr went on, hating having to say all this, his son was already hurting enough, but he has to say it, if not now he might never will, & Lincoln deserves to know, especially after today
Before the Loud father could speak, Luna, & Luan, warped their arms around Lincoln, embracing him in a hug, "We're not letting them take Lincoln." Luan yells, "What?" Lynn Sr ask confused by his daughters outburts
"Someones taking Linky!?" Leni cried tackling her brother in a hug, "I won't let anyone take our Linky!" Lucy, Lana, Lola, Lisa, & Lily, all hugged their brother, "No one's taking Lincoln." Rita said
"Yet." Lori replied coldly with her arms crossed looking away
"Then why are you telling us this? I thought those monsters were going to take him away from us." Luna said, as the girls tighten their grip on Lincoln
"Girls, we're a family, we would never allow anyone to take one of our babies away." Rita said
"If I ever see those awful people, I will slug em good." Lynn Sr said, but in his mind he was freaking out over the thought of Lincolns real parents, he struggled just to beat Mr. Campbell, what chance could he possible stand against some sort of alien overlord, or something that could shatter him by just breathing on him.
Rita looked at her frozen in fear husband, she sighs, "After what happen today... with the school bus. Your father, & I, talked about telling you all this... honestly we thought we could keep this a secret forever, but since most of you saw what happen..." she looked at Lisa, Lola, Lana, Lucy, & Lynn Jr, "We believe we should tell you the truth."
"What truth?" Lincoln asks, "You mean the..." he looked down for a second, "gifts?" he said softly
"Gifts?" Luna asks, "But it's not Christmas, or like someones birthday?" Leni asked
"I'm pretty sure you girls have seen Lincoln... doing weird things." Rita said
The girls remain silent, all of them have seen Lincoln doing things that seem impossible, so they just think they were seeing things
Seeing the uncertain looks on their faces, Lynn Sr spoke, "Lincoln... you're not human, you're an alien."
Lincoln froze hearing those words, it was like time had stop, not just for him, but for all the Louds
"This has got to be a prank!" Lola shouts, "Lincoln is an alien!? How crazy does that sound!?" she looked at her family
"It's true." Lisa said
"You knew?" Rita asks her second youngest daughter
"For over a year." Lisa confirms
"I'm shock! Shock!... Okay not that shock." Lynn Sr said
"You're in on it too!?" Lola yells at her younger sister
"I have proof. Such as my multiple fail attempts on extracting DNA samples from our elder brother in his sleep." she pulls out a long needle, "See." she jabs Lincoln with the needle only for it to start bending as she pushed it against his skin
She holds the now U shaped needle in front of her family
"Whoa." Lana comments, "That was awesome."
"Now that that's settle." Lori said, "We can get rid of him."
Lori Marie Loud!" Rita glared at her oldest daughter
"What?" Leni asked, the other girls couldn't even speak after hearing Lori say that
"Now that they know what that thing is. We should get rid of it, now."
"You bitch!" Luna slaps Lori knocking her against a nearby wall
"Luna!" their father yells
"How can you say that!" she was in tears being held back by Luan, Lucy, & the twins
"Don't you remember what he did to Lynn a few years ago!?" Lori yells, making Lynn Jr flinch remembering that fateful day
"He hurt our sister. We would beat the snot out of anyone who would hurt our family. That monster hurt our family." she points at Lincoln, still frozen in spot
"The only one who's hurting our family is you!" Leni shouts
"I have to agree with our second oldest sibling." Lisa commented
"Don't you have any idea what he means!?" Lori yells, "He can move a freaking bus like it was made out of cardboard. Imagine what he could do! Or better yet, what about his actual parents? They could lift this whole planet with one hand like it was a basketball. The sooner we give him to some government agents, the sooner our family can be safe."
"You heartless meanie!" Leni punched Lori right in the face, sending the oldest blonde girl down on the ground
"Leni!" Rita grabbed her second oldest daughter, holding her back, "Is that why you've been ignoring him!? That's the reason you make him cry every time he goes into our room, & you walk right on out!? You're the real monster!" she cried out, "He was your little buddy! You always hanged out with him! We played dress up with him everyday! You always asked if you could feed him during every meal!"
"You're defending someone that sent our sister to the hospital! Remember when she would wake up screaming in pain!" Lori shouts back, "She still has that bruise where he hit her!"
Lynn Jr rubbed the bruise Lori has just mention
"He's our brother! Our little Linky! And you hurt him everyday! I hate you!" Leni went off on her older sister
The house feel silent again, the only sounds being the tears in everyones eyes, & Leni panting from all her yelling
"Lynn... do you feel safe around Lincoln?" Lori asks her younger sister, all eyes on her, except for Lincolns
She lowered her head, not answering, "There's your proof. He doesn't belong here." she walked upstairs to her room
Luna gets on her knees in front of her brother, his eyes completely red with tears, "Don't listen to her, bro. You belong here." she put her hand on his shoulder, "Yeah, Lincoln." Lana warped her arms around his waist, "You're our big brother." Lola added hugging his waist next to her twin, "You're just as Loud as the rest of us." Luan chuckled hugging him from behind, "We may not share the same DNA, but you are still our brother unit." Lisa said holding Lincolns hand smiling, "You're out light in this bleak dark world." Lucy said holding his other hand with the faintest of smiles on her face, "You're our Linky. You always will be." Leni said hugging her brother from behind, resting her head on top of his head, "Poo-Poo!" Lily ran towards her big brother, hugging him as tightly as she could
"Lincoln." their father spoke up, "We all love you, son." Rita finished what her husband was going to say, the family having a group hug in the middle of their ruin living room, all except for one
"Lincoln..." Lynn Jr said softly, almost in a whisper, she looks directly at Lincoln, staring into his eyes, she was scared, but the moment their eyes met, she could see her baby brother. She took a step forward, followed by another step, & another, until she was in front of him.
"Lyn-" he was cut off when she put her arms around him crying in the embrace, "I love you bro. Big sis Lynn is here." she says while crying
Lincoln cries hugging his older sister back, this was the first time since the accident that hes even touched her
"Lynn." his voice cracked just saying her name, "No matter what, you're our brother, my brother." the two siblings embrace each other in tears for the first time in forever.
I'm sorry if this chapter wasn't all that good... I actually worked on this all last night. I had finish this, & just didn't like it all, so I deleted the entire thing (5k), & retyped it all (another 5k)
I gave Chandler a last name, along with showing his parents, since the show hasn't done this yet, I just made my own concepts of what his parents would look like, & act like. The last name was lazy writing, but the show has other characters with the same letter in their first name, & last name, so whatever.
As for the next chapter, we'll see Lincoln take his first steps as a hero, how hard could it be?
I just feel awful right now. This week has been draining for me.
I hope you liked this chapter, that it wasn't too much of a let down.
Also yeah the mermaid the fisherman got on video is Aquaman.
And you all know about that batguy in Gotham.
