A/N: I know that it's been a while but I do have several other fandoms that I write for... On top of that I have some broken and cracked ribs as well as severe pain in my lower right back, hip, and pelvis so I'm not able to sit up for long periods of time at once still... The good news is I'm now back with a new chapter for you all! This chapter jumps to the day after that everyone met Rory! Enjoy!

Lorelai peeked into the bedroom that Rory had slept in last night and wasn't all that surprised to see Lucas in bed with her. She quickly made her way back to her bedroom and grabbed the camera that she had thought to bring with her. Once she had it in her hands she walked about to Rory's bedroom and snapped a couple of pictures before she went downstairs with a smile on her face. She was happy that Rory slept through the night and got some much needed rest. She had no doubt that it was because Lucas had spent the night with her and held her in his arms all night long. When she walked into the kitchen she saw Deb and another woman with brown hair. "Good morning."

Deb looked up and smiled at Lorelai. "Good morning, Lorelai. What has you in such a good mood this morning?"

Lorelai grinned at Deb after she got herself a cup of coffee. "Rory slept the whole night through and is still sleeping currently. This is the first night in months that she has gotten more than two hours of sleep at once without waking up screaming. I peeked in on her before I came downstairs and she was curled up in Lucas' arms with a peaceful smile on her face. I swear that boy has a calming effect in him somehow."

Deb laughed and shook her head. "Lucas for the most part has always been laid back and that draws people to him. Oh, Lorelai, I want you to meet Karen who happens to be Lucas' mother. Karen, I want you to meet my good friend Lorelai. Karen came over this morning to see if Lucas was here so I showed her where he was and then answered her questions. I hope that you don't mind, Lorelai, but I told Karen about what happened to Rory so she would understand why Lucas was sleeping in the same bed as Rory and why I wasn't freaking about it since I'm just as protective of him as she is."

Lorelai shook her head as she sat down finally. "I don't mind that you told Karen, Deb. I figured that one of us would have to tell Lucas' mom at some point because I have a feeling that if Lucas isn't here with Rory then he will want her with him at his house. Normally I would give hell to Rory and whoever I caught in her bed but this is different. I can see the effect that Lucas has on Rory and it is a good one. I haven't seen her so relaxed or smiling so much since before he left Chilton. If having Lucas constantly with her is what she needs in order to feel safe then I see no problem with it. It's been way too long since she has felt even the slightest bit safe that I refuse to take that feeling away from her. Besides maybe Lucas can get through to her where I can't. Yesterday was the first day in a long time that she didn't put up a fight taking her pain medicine. I think the reason she fought me on it is because she didn't feel safe and they make her tired. Maybe now she will take them when she needs them since Lucas seems to make her feel completely safe."

Deb nodded but it was Karen who said "Lucas will make sure she takes any and all medication that she needs, Lorelai. When I saw him holding Rory like he was even in his sleep I knew then that she is the reason he had been so depressed when he moved back home. I also knew that she was the reason he refused to date anyone. I have a feeling that we will be In-Laws to one another and probably soon, Lorelai. I can also tell you that Lucas isn't the only one who is protective of Rory. When Deb and I looked in at six this morning Nathan, Haley, Peyton, Jake, Rachel, Mouth, Chase, and Skills were all spread around the room sleeping wherever there was a free spot. We woke them up quietly and sent them to bed but more than likely they will be up in the next hour or so. I have always known the group was close to one another but this is something I have never thought I would witness. Anybody who even tries to mess with Rory is going to be in for a shock because they will have to get through eight people and that is even before they would have to get through Lucas himself."

Deb smirked at that. "Rory has an army at her disposal and she doesn't even know it. Now onto another note while neither Karen or I are with Dan we do still talk to him and he is insisting on getting a bodyguard for Rory. He will not see a girl that one of his son's is obviously in love with terrorized or hurt. Dan has also insisted on hiring a private investigator to see if Dean can be found quicker. Tonight we will be having a family dinner with everyone including the other kids, Dan, Keith, Luke, and Jesse who Dan is flying in. I know that you said yesterday we would be talking about having Rory go to school here and I mentioned it to Dan who informed the Principal of a possible transfer student and security measures that will need to be taken. Also I'm not sure how he found out about it but Dan found out about how Brooke acted yesterday and is looking into getting a possible restraining order against her. We don't want Rory to feel like she isn't safe."

Lorelai looked at Deb with wide eyes and swallowed hard. "Wow. Deb, you didn't have to do all this."

Deb glared at Lorelai and shook her head. "Lorelai, when you made me Rory's Godmother that made her family and the one thing we do is take care of family. We aren't going to let Rory get hurt when we could do something to prevent it. Lucas calls me mom just like he does Karen and Nathan calls her mom just like he does me. We are a family and seeming as it looks like Lucas isn't going to let Rory go ever again that makes her even more family than she already was. Unlike your mother we aren't expecting anything in return for doing this for you. We are doing it because we want to and because we care. So I don't want to here anymore about it. Now why don't you show Karen and I the pictures that you took of Rory and Lucas since I know that you took some."

Lorelai chuckled as she turned her camera back on and did just that. She knew then that she had made the right decision in bringing Rory here.

A/N 2: *grins* And there is this chapter... Alright just to make sure a couple things are clear for this story... I couldn't bring myself to kill Keith off in this story so he is alive! Another thing is Dan is good in this story and although him and Deb are no longer together and neither are him and Karen they are all still friends... I wanted to write a story where Dan was a good guy for once... LOL... So yes he will be in this story quite often... Also Dan has good relationships with both of his sons...
