A/N I do not own Vampire diaries, I only own anything unfamiliar to you. This story will begin in season 1 but may skip episodes that are unimportant. If you want to know anything particular about Evangelina Petrova read the character page, if that does not answer your question PM me. Please review, I will read criticism but not if it is over the top. I skipped 163 Candles as Eva was not going to be in the episode much. She was just at the grill and comforted Caroline before she went home with Matt. She did not meet Lexi as she was not at the grill for long.

Chapter Eight: History Repeating
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! I slammed my hand down on the alarm groggily and winced when I felt a sharp pain shoot through my hand. I blinked my eyes open and stared at my hand. A piece of my now broken alarm clock was lodged into my hand. I quickly pulled it out and watched as the wound slowly closed up. I needed to start drinking more blood or I would heal slower. I quickly stumbled out of bed and threw on some running clothes.
An hour later I returned home. I quickly showered and put on black jeans, a long sleeve peplum shirt, red ankle boots, a red coat and a silver dog tag necklace. I grabbed my bag and quickly drank a blood bag before heading out the door.
I quickly walked to school and met up with Elena and Caroline who were walking ahead of me towards the school. I quickly caught up to them. "Hey!" I said smiling and hugged both Elena and Caroline. "Hey." Elena said. "You're in a good mood." Care said. "I feel good today and I caught up on my sleep over the weekend." I explained. "That's good." Elena said. "Yep, so what are we talking about?" I asked. "Bonnie." Caroline said and rolled her eyes. I nodded Care was mad at her. "Have you even talked to Bonnie?" Elena asked. "No, I'm mad at her. She needs to make the first move." Caroline said. "Be the bigger person." Elena said.
"Yeah, c'mon Care. It's just a necklace." I said looking at her. "Impossible in her presence." Caroline scoffed. "Why are you so pissed at her anyway?" Elena asked. I was curious as well it wasn't like her. "She's a thief. That's why. I gave her my necklace, and she refuses to give it back. It's a matter of principle." Care said seriously. "Care you gave it to her as a gift. Why should she have to give it back?" I asked. "Because it's mine." Care said. "All right. Well, I tried. I'm officially out of it." Elena said. "Me too." I chimed.
"Good. Elena it's your turn. Where's Stefan? Have you talked to him?" Care asked. "He's avoiding me." Elena said sadly. "Why?" I asked. "It's complicated. I'll see you both later." Elena said waving at us. "Bye." Care and I said together as Elena walked away. We kept on walking and saw Matt. "Hey." Matt said. "Hi." I smiled. "Hey." Care said. Matt walked away as we continued on. I saw that Care look disappointed. "Someone has a crush." I sing-songed bumping into her shoulder. "Oh, shut up." She said bumping me back. We hurried to our lockers and got our books. We finally got a new history teacher. So we went to class.
As soon as we arrived Care and I took a seat in the back of the class. I saw the new teacher. He had light brown hair, a muscular body and blue eyes. He looked to be in his early thirties. Everyone settled down as the bell rang. "Good Morning everyone. Alrighty. Alaric Saltzman. It's a mouthful. I know. Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.
Saltzman is of German origins. My family immigrated here in 1755 to Texas. I, however, was born and raised in Boston. Now the name Alaric belongs to a very dead great-grandfather I will never be able to thank enough. You'll probably want to pronounce "Alaric" (al-er-ric) but it's ..."Alaric", okay. So you can call me Rick. I'm your new history teacher." Said Mr. Saltzman. He seemed nice and interesting. He kept both Care and I interested throughout the lesson. He was amazing.
The rest of the morning passed quickly. I met up with Elena and Bonnie during lunch. I don't know where Care was. "And then I ended up at the remains of the old Fell's church before I woke up back in the woods." Bonnie explained her dream to Elena and I. "And you always see your ancestor Emily?" Elena asked. "And you're sure it's not just a dream?" I asked. "Mhm." Bonnie nodded, "Do you believe in ghosts?" "I do, maybe she's trying to say something." I said. "Two weeks ago I'd said no but now..." Elena trailed off. "Cause I think I'm being haunted." Bonnie said.
"I don't get it. Why Emily?" Elena asked. "Yeah, why her? Why not someone else?" I asked. "Grams said she was a powerful witch back in the civil war days and that this medallion was hers, a witch's talisman." Bonnie explained to us. "Ohh, that explains it." I said. "And it all started when you got the necklace?" Elena asked. "I think she's using it to communicate with me." Bonnie explained. "Ok what does Grams say about it?" Elena asked. "I can't call her . She's gonna tell me to embrace it .I don't want to embrace it. I want it to stop." Bonnie stated. "Maybe it will once you get the message." I said sympathetically. Elena checked her phone. "Hey, I have to go, see you two later." Elena said glancing at us. "Bye." Bonnie and I chorused.
Bonnie and I continued to walk towards the school. "Are you sure you're okay with all this Emily business?" I asked. "I'm not okay. I just want it to stop." She said looking at me. "I'll take it." I said making up my mind. "I can't let you do that." Bonnie said biting her lip. "Okay. Let's change the subject." I said. "Okay." She said in relief. "Any cute guys in your life?" I asked bumping her shoulder. "Unfortunately, no. What about you? How is Nik?" Bonnie asked curiously. "Amazing. I'm going to see him in a few weeks depending on what's going on. I was supposed to see him last weekend but I was so behind on homework I couldn't." I said.
"That sucks." Bonnie said. "Tell me about it but I'll see him eventually and we talk a lot so it's like he is here with me." I explained. "I'm a little bit jealous." Bonnie admitted. "Why?" I asked. "I wish I had someone like that. Someone who loves only me and who made me feel special and loved." Bonnie said. "You will bon-bon. You will find a boy who loves you with all his heart and you will feel so special." I said hugging her. "I know. I just wish he was here now." She said. "Anyway, can you give me a ride after school?" I asked. "Sure, but don't you have a car?" she asked. "Yeah, but I walked today." I said. "Ohh, see you after school." Bonnie said just as the bell rang. I waved and rushed to class.
After class had finished I met bonnie outside. Together we walked to her car. I stumbled as we bumped into Damon. "Okay, it's your last chance." Damon said glaring at Bonnie. I glared back and crossed my arms over my chest. "I'm gonna scream." Bonnie threatened. "Oh no, don't do that. Let's stay on point. I want my necklace." Damon said looking at Bonnie's neck. "You can't have it." Bonnie said stubbornly. "I can't take it but you can give it to me. I'm trying to help you here." Damon said.
"I don't want your help." Bonnie protested "You do want my help, and you don't even know it. You know why, you little witch? Cause you've stumbled into something you need to stumble out of." Damon said. "Just leave me alone or I swear..." Bonnie began to say. "Don't. No threats. A, you hurt me last time. B, I wish you no harm. Believe it or not Bonnie, I wanna protect you. Let me help you get Emily off your Back." Damon said cutting her off. "How do you know about her?" Bonnie asked suspiciously. So far I had just watched in silence. I started to pay more attention.
"I know a lot of things, and I know more about that crystal than you do, and I know that she's using it to creep inside of you. See how scared you are? And you should be, because I will get that crystal, even if I have to wait for Emily to give it to me herself. So, Next time she comes out to play, you tell her...That a deal's a deal." Damon said opening the door for Bonnie. "Hear this Damon." I spat at him and he looked at me. "I will make sure you will never get that crystal. Never." He glared furiously at me. "Leave us alone." I spat and got in the car.
Bonnie drove to my house and gasped as it came into view. I grinned. "Okay, I'm going to grab a bag. I'll be right back." I said. "Okay." She breathed out staring in awe at my house. I giggled and ran inside. I quickly dropped off my school bag and packed an overnight bag and left. I quickly hopped in Bonnie's car and we drove to pick up Elena.
"He's bad news, Elena. He really scared me." Bonnie said glancing at Elena. "You need to stay as far away from Damon as possible." Elena said seriously. "We all need to." I said. "I'm trying. He just keeps showing up."Bonnie explained. "I don't want you to be alone. You're sleeping at my place tonight. We can make a whole night out of it." Elena said. I was supposed to sleep over at Bonnie's so now I don't know what I'll do. "But Eva is staying at mine tonight." Bonnie said looking back at me. "You can come to." Elena said smiling. "It will be like old times." "Sure, it will be fun." I said grinning at her.
We drove for a few more minutes before Bonnie pulled over. "Woah! Where are you going?" Elena asked. "Why are we here?" I questioned as Bonnie walked over to the field. I saw her pull the necklace off and throw it into the field. She had guts that was for sure. I wonder what Emily would do now. "Are you okay?" Elena asked once Bonnie got back in the car. "Now I am. All my problems were because of that thing. Can't believe I didn't do that sooner." She said looking at us. "Well you are strong that's for sure. Hopefully the nightmares will go away." I said. "What's your Grams gonna say?" Elena asked. "Grams isn't the one being haunted by a hundred and fifty-years-old ghost, is she?" Bonnie asked rhetorically. "Okay, then." Elena said. "That's right." I said agreeing with her.
It was dinnertime when Care finally came over. We were getting the food ready and saw Caroline still being cold with Bonnie. "I'm sorry. There. I said it. If you want the ugly-ass necklace, keep it. It's yours." Care said to Bonnie. "Will you hate me if I tell you I threw it away?" Bonnie asked. "You threw it away?" Caroline asked incredulously. I groaned aloud. "I know it sounds crazy but the necklace was giving me nightmares. I had to get rid of it." Bonnie explained. "You could have just given it back to me." Caroline said. "Why?" Elena asked. "So you could give it back to Damon?" I added.
"Screw Damon. Are we doing manicures or what? Who has their kit?" Caroline asked. "Mine's in my bag." Bonnie said. "Mine too." I said. "So Elena. How long do you think this fight with Stefan's gonna last? Is it...like a permanent thing?" Caroline asked while going through my bag. "I don't know Caroline." Elena said sadly. I hugged her softly and she glanced at me appreciatively. "Why are you such a little liar, Bonnie?" Caroline asked. "What?" bonnie asked confused. "You to, Eva." Care said. I looked up in confusion. "Caroline!" Elena exclaimed. "What are you talking about?" I asked.
I saw Caroline holding up the crystal. "I'm not lying to you, Caroline. I swear." Bonnie said. "I'm not either. I don't know how that got in my bag." I said. "It's true. Both Eva and I watched Bonnie throw it into a field." Elena said backing us up. "Then explain it." Caroline demanded. "Emily." Bonnie and I said. "Who's Emily?" Caroline asked in confusion. "The ghost." Bonnie explained. "The ghost has a name now?" Caroline asked sarcastically. She was pretending she doesn't believe in witches.
"Caroline, please." Elena said. "I wonder why the amulet showed up in Eva's bag. I wish she would just leave us alone." Bonnie said to Elena and me. I watched Caroline pretend to be mad. I had told her everything already. "What is going on? Why am I not a part of this conversation? You guys do this to me all the time." Caroline said. "That's not true." Elena protested. "Yes it is. I can't talk to you. You don't listen." Bonnie explained. That was not true. She did listen. She just didn't show it.
"That's not true." Caroline said offended. "I'm a witch." Bonnie admitted. "And don't we all know it?" Caroline said sarcastically pretending she didn't believe Bonnie. "See? That's what I'm talking about. I'm trying to tell you something. You don't even hear it." Bonnie said upset and left the room. "I listen. When do I not listen?" Caroline asked Elena and me. Both Care and I knew the truth though. She did believe in magic. She was just pretending not to. A few minutes later Elena and I 'convinced' Care to talk to Bonnie.
"Bonnie. Look, it's just not me. I don't believe in the 'woo woo.' But if you do, then...Okay. I'm in. That's all it takes for me to jump on board, because I consider you to be my best friend. And I'm saying this knowing that Elena and Eva are in the kitchen listening to my every word. Look, I didn't know how real this was for you, but I'm listening now. Okay? Elena, Eva, you guys can come in now. We're done." Care said. Elena and I walk into the room smiling. Caroline looked at us. "There is just way too much drama in this room. So what do you guys wanna do? I have an idea. Why don't we have a séance?" Caroline asked excitedly. "I don't think that's a good idea." Bonnie said. "Me either. What if we summon the wrong spirit or we do something wrong." I said biting my lip.
"Come on. Let's summon some spirits. This Emily chick has some serious explaining to do." Care said. "Fine." I muttered. We all got the candles and set in up it Elena's room. We were sitting in a circle with the lit candles in the middle. "What are we doing?" Bonnie asked. "I don't know." Elena said. "Me either." I commented. "Be quiet and concentrate. Close your eyes. Now take a deep breath. Bonnie. Call to her." Care said. I followed her directions and closed my eyes and took a deep breath. "Emily you there?" Bonnie called sarcastically. I bit my lip and tried to stifle my giggle but I couldn't hold it in. I laughed and opened my eyes. "Really?"Emily you there?"That's all you got? Come on." Care said. \
"Fine .Jeez. Emily. I call on you. I know you have a message. I'm here to listen." Bonnie called. I opened my eyes and saw the candles flare up. "Did that just..." Elena began to say. "Yeah. That just happened." Care cut her off. "It's really cold in here." I said rubbing my arms and lightly shivering. "It's just the air conditioning." Bonnie said. "Ask her to show you a sign .Ask her. Emily if you're among us, show us another sign." Care called out. "See? It's not working." Bonnie said relieved. The windows flew open. "I can't. I'm done." Bonnie said and ripped the necklace off her neck and threw it on the ground. The candles went out and we were left in pitch darkness. "Get the light. Please get the light on." Bonnie said freaked out. "Hold on. I got it." Elena said from somewhere in the room. I couldn't see anything even with my enhanced sight. "You guys, the necklace, it's gone." I said once the lights were turned on.
"Okay, fun's over, Caroline. You made a point, and I get it. Now give it back." Elena said blaming Caroline. "It's not her fault." I defended her. "What? Well, I didn't take it. What? What happened?"Care asked as Elena looked at something. "I don't know. Nothing. Jeremy, are you home?" Elena called out. I was searching the room with Bonnie. I saw it in the bathroom. "Guys..." I call stepping inside the bathroom and picking up the necklace. H door slammed shut and I spun around. You guys open the door. Help me." I screamed banging on the door.
3rd Person P.O.V
"Eva! Eva! What's going on, Eva?" Elena called banging on the bathroom door as they hear Eva's screams."Eva!" Carline screamed banging on the door. "Eva, open up!" Bonnie called banging on the door as well. The screaming continued. "Try the other door. I'll check the hallway." Elena said running towards the other door. "Eva! Eva! Unlock the door!" Care screamed. "Eva! Eva! Eva! Open the door!" Elena screamed. "Open the door Eva! Eva!" Bonnie called. The screaming of Eva stopped. Everything went silent and the door opened. All three girls looked inside. Eva was in the middle of the bathroom with her head in her hands. She appeared to be fine.
"What happened? Are you okay?" Elena asked Eva. "I'm fine." Eva/Emily replied in a calm voice. "Unbelievable. You were totally faking it." Caroline spat at Eva/Emily. "Caroline. Come on." Bonnie said. "No, you scared the hell out of me, Eva." Caroline said looking at Eva. "Eva?" Elena asked. "I'm fine. Everything's fine." Eva/Emily replied. "I can't believe I fell for it." Caroline said as Eva was walking toward the staircase. "Are you okay?" Elena asked Eva. Bonnie was watching. She had a feeling that Eva was not really Eva.
"I must go." Eva/Emily replied calmly heading down the staircase. "If she's leaving. I'm leaving." Caroline said following after her. "You guys can't leave." Elena said. "I can. I've had enough freaky fake witch stuff for one night." Caroline replied. "Thank you for having me. I'll take it from here." Eva/Emily replied. "Where are you going?" Elena asked confused. "Back to where it all began." Eva/Emily replied. It suddenly donned on Bonnie. "Eva! Eva! Oh My God! Emily!" Bonnie called out. "I won't let him have it. It must be destroyed." Eva/Emily replied and rushed to the door and slammed it shut. "Wait!" Elena called but it was too late. Eva/Emily was gone.
Eva/Emily headed out into the street and walked to the woods until she reached Fell's Church. She was walking through the woods when Damon came up behind her. "Hello Emily. You look different." Damon said to her. "I won't let you do it." Eva/Emily said. "We had a deal." Damon said glaring at her. "Things are different now. I need to protect my family." Eva/Emily said. "I protected your family. You owe me." Damn said desperately. "I know. I'm sorry." Eva/Emily said softly. "You're about to be a lot more than that." Damon said and ran at her. Eva/Emily used her powers and threw Damn onto a branch that went through his chest.
Eva/Emily continued to walk until she reached a clearing. She drew a star symbol on the ground. "Stefan." Eva/Emily said looking at him. "Hello Emily." Stefan said. "These people don't deserve this. They should never have to know such evil." Eva/Emily said. "What do you mean evil?" Stefan asked. "Emily. I swear to God I'll make you regret this." Damon gasped out. "I won't let you unleash them into this world." Eva/Emily replied. "Them? What part of the story did you leave out, Damon?" Stefan asked. "What does it matter?" Damon groaned. "Emily, tell me what you did." Stefan demanded. "To save her, I had to save them." Eva/Emily replied. "You saved everyone in the church?" Stefan asked in disbelief. "With one, comes all." Eva/Emily replied as she finished the circle.
"I don't care about them. I just want Katherine." Damon said. "I knew I shouldn't have believed a single word that comes out of your mouth. This isn't about love, is it? This is about revenge." Stefan stated. "The two aren't mutually exclusive." Damon replied. "Damon, you can't do this." Stefan said. "Why not? They killed 27 people, and they called it a war battle. They deserve whatever they get." Damon said bitterly. "27 Vampires, Damon. They were vampires. You can't just bring them back." Stefan said. "This town deserves this." Damon said. "You're blaming innocent people for something that happened 145 years ago." Stefan said.
"There is nothing innocent about these people, and don't think for a second it won't happen again. They already know too much, and they'll burn your little witch right next to us when they find out. Trust me." Damon said angrily. "Things are different now." Eva/Emily replied. "Don't do this." Damon pleaded. "I can't free them. I won't. Incendia!" Eva/Emily said and lifted her arms as she stood in a circle of fire. "No! No please." Damon pleaded. "Eva!" Elena and Bonnie screamed. "No!" Damon screamed as Eva/Emily threw the necklace in the air and destroyed it. The fire collapses as Emily departs from Eva's body. Eva looked around confused as Damon Ran and her and attacked her. She collapsed on the ground as Damon pulled away with an expression of disgust.
Eva P.O.V
I woke up and opened my eyes. "What are you?" Elena and Stefan asked. "I'm what you call a Hybrid." I replied looking at them. "A hybrid of what?" Bonnie asked looking at me. "A vampire and a witch." I said. "That's impossible." Stefan said. "It happened from a ritual." I said shrugging. "I've been this way for a couple of months." I said. "I'll drive you home." Elena said as both Bonnie and I get in the car. While Elena talked to Stefan I was talking to Bonnie. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I was afraid you'd hate me." I said softly. "I could never hate you." She said hugging me. We waited in silence as Elena came back upset. She dropped me off and I hugged both of them tightly. "Love you, Lena, Bon-bon." I said. "Love you." They murmured. I got out and went inside.
I headed upstairs and took a shower and changed. I went into the kitchen and drank some blood. Once I felt better I went upstairs and shut the lights off. I snuggled into my blankets and drifted off to sleep.
A/N I hope you enjoyed the chapter. This one is longer than the last. Eva was possessed instead of Bonnie as I felt it made her aware she was not invincible. Bonnie still found out about Vampires and will still be wary of Damon as he attacked Eva. All of Eva's outfits are on my profile so check them out. Thanks for all the favourites and follows. Let me know what you think ~ Diana
