Chapter 10

KATIE'S POV

"Breath in, breath out." I said to myself as I stood in the wings of the Ellen Show stage. We were 5 minutes from starting and I was quite nervous!

I had spent the past 15 minutes talking to Ross about how to talk in an interview and he had made me feel a lot better.

"AND WE'RE ON!" The producer said, 10 seconds later, Ellen started her intro.

I was suddenly twice as nervous, what if I mess up?! What if I say something stupid! WHAT IF I TRIP!

I was pulled out of my mind as I heard Ellen introduce me.

"So today we have a delightful young lady in to talk about her exciting career in modelling, please welcome Katie." She said as I started walking onstage.

The crowd was cheering and I felt my nerves wash away. I waved and smiled to everyone before sitting on the big couch next to Ellen.

"It's so great to meet you!" Ellen said as she smiled.

"Thank you! I have to admit its been a bit of a life dream to meet you, after watching your Aussie special a few years ago when you had 2 Americans go to Bondi and ask locals funny questions, then when you ordered pizza for everyone at the Logies.. Haha sorry, I'm babbling! I'm a bit nervous!" I said adding a laugh at the end.

"Isn't she adorable folks!" Ellen said to the audience as they clapped and I laughed at myself. "So anyway, lets get to talking about you, you're still in high school, still live in Australia and you're walking in this years Victoria's Secret fashion show; I must say that's very impressive! What do the people at your high school think about all this?" She asked me inquisitively.

"They actually don't know! I've only told my best friend and she hasn't said a word! I'm actually quite nervous about going back because all that my class mates knew was that I wanted to do modelling, they had no idea that I was actually modelling and now that i've spent some time away my best friend has told me that I'm a bit of a joke actually, so I'm not sure how I feel about heading back and facing all of those rumours! But it's a part of life so bring it on I guess!" I said feeling a bit shy.

"Wow so know one knows?! So where do they think you are?" Ellen asked leaning towards me.

"They actually think I'm at skate camp!" I said as the crowd erupted into laughter "I didn't know what else to say and I love skateboarding so I just though why not!" I replied joining in with the crowns laughing.

"So what do you think they'll say when they find out you're modelling for Victoria's Secret?"

"I have no idea, but I think they'll know before I get home because half the girls in my grade watch your show religiously and will probably see me on here having a great old time haha! I don't know what will happen when I get home but I do know that I'm excited because as soon as I graduate I can move here to LA and really get into modelling! That's what it's all about really, I love modelling and I know that it's what I want to do with my life so I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to move out here and take it further" I say enthusiastically.

"You're such a driven young lady, but now I want to shift topic a bit and get to talking about your growing life here in LA, so I think we all saw those pictures of you and Ross Lynch at the beach in the Los Angeles Gazette so why don't we get that blonde out here! Come on out Ross!" Ellen said as she motioned towards the left exit where Ross suddenly emerged.

"It's really great to meet you Ross" Ellen said to him as he sat down next to me and slung his arm over my shoulders leaning into me.

"Yeah its great to be here! I was really excited when Katie told me I would be joining her on the show and we thought it would be good to just face all these rumours before they get out of hand!" He said squeezing me shoulder.

"So what exactly is the truth, are you guys dating?" Ellen asked us.

"We are, and it's been really nice! It's really awesome to have the Lynch's here in LA because it makes me so much more comfortable with the idea of moving out here, knowing I won't be totally alone!" I say leaning into Ross's side a bit more.

"Yeah, I was really taken when I met her, I remember our good friend Laura Marano brought her to dinner and I just remember looking up and seeing her and just going whoa, did she step out of a magazine or something?! And over dinner we got to learn a lot about her, then she made us dessert and I was just like I have to date this girl" Ross said laughing.

"Oh so you're just dating me for my cooking? I see how it is" I said in mock defiance.

"I am not just dating you for your cooking! The whole Victoria's Secret thing is a major contender!" Ross replied joining my little game.

"I'm loving you two! Aren't they cute together! So Ross you're obviously very family orientated, what was it like when your family met her?"

"It was actually a bit of a competition between me and my brothers! But after we started dating things quietened down, her and Rydel are thick as thieves! They are always going out for nail appointments and shopping, actually Katie, Rydel and Laura have become a bit of threesome! Then my parents got back from their anniversary trip and I got to introduce her to them, my Mom loves her! Which was a big plus for me, it's important to know that the girl I date is liked by my family because I'm so close to them.

"Wow so you've really built a bit of a life here haven't you Katie?" Ellen asked me.

"Yeah I really have! I'm excited to go back home because the band just finished recording their latest album so they're on a break and Austin and Ally doesn't start filming again until March so the Lynch's, Ratliff and Laura are all coming home with me to meet my family and I'm gonna show them around my home town which will be fun! It'll also be really good having them all there when I go back to school, just in case things don't go as well as I'm hoping they will haha!"

"Well unfortunately its time to wrap the show up! But thank you so much for coming and I wish you all the best! Please come back for an interview anytime we'd love to have you!" Ellen said after the producer motioned to her.

"Thank you so much for having us its been a blast!" I said hugging her.

"Thanks Ellen, it's been great talking to you!" Ross said before hugging her as well.

"And we're off!" The producer yelled before ushering the audience out.

"Congratulations on all your success, please do come back anytime!" Ellen said before she was pulled away by an executive.

"You ready to head home babe?" Ross asked me as he took my hand in his.

"Yeah lets go, that was fun! She's so nice!" I say following him out the stage door.

"She is! Now it's time to get excited about our trip to Australia! I can't wait babe!" he said getting excited.

"I can't wait either!" And I really couldn't! Only 5 more sleeps!
