Chapter 10

JSA Mansion

1145 Local Time

"Hey, PG! Love the new look!"

I turned from my woolgathering about Bruce and the affection I planned on showering upon him when he returned to Earth from an interstellar Justice League mission to find a grizzled elder man, perhaps twenty years older than my lover, approaching me.

He was dressed in some sort of black costume with his cowl bunched around his neck. His face had what I'd heard was called a 'five o'clock shadow.' The boots on his feet looked a little strange because they mimicked the claws of a feline creature. "I like your hair," he added. "Reminds me of how Veronica Lake used to wear hers."

He must have seen the look of confusion on my face since I had no idea what he was talking about. Then he shook his head with a bit of what appeared to be melancholy and smiled sadly. "Don't worry about it, kid. I guess she was way before your time." Moments later, his mood shifted as he carefully scrutinized me. "Karen...have you lost some weight? Your physique seems less...robust than the last time I saw it."

It was then I realized he was suffering from a case of mistaken identity. "I'm so sorry, sir. I believe you have me confused with Karen Starr. I'm Kara Zor-El. I'm Clark Kent's cousin."

He grinned. "Oh! You're Superman's cousin from our universe! Sorry about the confusion. It's just...you look so much like Karen from when I'd first met her. I hear Charles has been helping you get over that bout of radiation sickness you suffered and has been treating you with Karen's supplements. They must be working for you 'cause you look great!"

I blushed. Over the last few days while Bruce had been away, my body had gone through some drastic changes. Although my breasts were nowhere near the size of Diana's, they had increased two cup sizes. My hips had also filled out and my rear end now was what a woman who worked at the clothing store where Alfred had taken me had described as a 'bubble butt.'

Now, I looked up at the tall man and said, "Thank you for the compliment, sir."

He snorted. "Man! You're so damn polite! Not use to that from folks in your generation, darling. By the way, the name's Ted Grant. I'm also called Wildcat."

I smiled at him. "Mr. Grant! It's such a pleasure to meet you! My boyfriend has said you were the man who taught him the most when he started his crime-fighting career."

"I'm sorry, darling, but who exactly are we talking about here?"

"Bruce Wayne, my beloved," I said.

His eyes shot wide open at my remark. "Do tell?" Then he smirked. "Man, I can't wait for Karen to hear what you just told me!"

Suddenly, I heard a voice that sounded a bit like mine, only deeper, such as when I would tease my mother by imitating her voice when she told me to do my chores. "Well, Grant, the waiting, as short as it was, is over!"

I turned toward the sound of that voice and gasped. "Holy Rao!" I whispered. Standing not more than several meters away from me inside the mansion's front door was...me.

Well, an older version of me who appeared as if she would have been at home alongside Diana and Artemis on Themyscira. Her breasts certainly gave Diana's chest a run for her money far more than mine did!

She wore her hair in a shorter, yet stylish fashion than mine. She appeared to be wearing a costume that was somewhat...unusual in comparison to the one Kal wore. Her cape was red like his but far shorter. Instead of red boots, hers were blue. She also wore blue gloves, as well. Finally, she was garbed in a white leotard that had a enormous window that exposed her impressive cleavage for everyone to see.

Apparently, while I'd been studying her, she'd been doing the same with me. "Wow," she whispered, "it's as if I'd looked into a mirror and saw myself as I was seven years ago." Then a bemused smirk crossed her face. "So...you're in a relationship with the Bat, eh? That had to have frosted Clark's little red shorts when he found out about that!"

I glared right at her and snapped, "Not that it's any of your business but I don't answer to my baby cousin. Since I'm the elder by birth, I am the head of the great House of El, not him."

"Oh man," Mr. Grant drawled, "I'd never dreamed when I woke up this morning that I'd have a front row seat to an all-out catfight between two Kryptonian hotties! I don't know if my old ticker or this old mansion can take it but I'm willing to risk it all!"

Power Girl shot an amused look at Wildcat. "Keep dreaming, Grant." Then she turned her attention back to me. "Well, Kara, you don't appear to be the type to take any crap from anyone. I guess you and I really are alike. Want to go out and grab a bite to eat?"

My stomach growled noisily in response. Now that she'd mentioned food, I was feeling a bit peckish. "Sure. Let me just find Alfred and I'll tell him that you offered to take me to lunch."

"Tell him if he has other duties to take care of, he can take off and I'll be certain to return you to the manor safe and sound."

"All right."

"Good," Karen said as I turned to go find my friend. "In the meantime, I suspect Grant will do his best to annoy the crap out of me until you return, Mini-Me."

At that crack, I dangerously narrowed my eyes at Power Girl, allowing a little of my heat vision to show through.

In response, she simply shot a smug grin my way and didn't seem intimidated whatsoever.

Sorry about the long delay on posting. I'll do better going forward because I do like this version of Supergirl, particularly after she's met Power Girl. For some reason, I feel sorry for Bruce, Clark and the Toyman...
