The air was stale, thick and unperturbed if not for the thick stench of gore that permeated it. Though, that of course only served to make the dead silence far more literal. Strewn across the floors and tables of the large dining room were the bodies of a few dozen men, all bathed and left to soak in the fatal crimson of blood.

The sound of a large door being pushed open was then audible, and a young boy by the name of Tsukune Aono walked calmly into the room, eyes scanning the area before quickly assessing that there were no survivors.

"Well this is dull..."

The boy turned to face another, a silver-haired boy who was one or two years his senior, eyes a peculiar state indeed, with one being green and the other red, both with slit pupils. Though of course, the strangest part was the fact that the pupil in his red, right eye was settled horizontally rather than the vertical norm.

Tsukune paid this little attention having met the boy a year or so back, already used to his peculiar appearance and his... unnerving aura, instead moving straight onto business.

"Yoshii-san," the elder boy had his arms resting with fingers intertwined behind his head laxly, "is there a problem?" Tsukune asked, following through with an non-coverable shudder as the boy levelled his eyes on him and greet him with a fanged smirk. As always, grabbing the keen interest of the Chimera child.

"Just so Tsuki-kun~" he said in a chipper tone, unconsciously creeping Tsukune out as he always did when he approached him, eyes wandering the room before he not-so-gently nudged a limp body out of a chair at the dinner table before setting down in his place, uncaring of the red that now literally bled into the fabric of his maroon jacket and black jeans. Suffice to say, it wasn't the most practical outfit for someone in their line of work but for Kiria... he was simply another case.

Tsukune rolled his eyes as he watched the boy not only nudge aside what was supposed to be a former associate but proceed onto biting into the jugular of another man laying conveniently in front of his seat of choice. The younger lad walked over to check through some of the body's in search of the master of the house, "Then pray tell, what would that problem be?" he asked, entirely monotone and honestly uncaringly.

A thud was heard as Kiria quickly pushed away the container of his drinking source along with a small sound of distaste, "The blood of a drunkard always does tend to taste vile..." he noted in a soft and daresay, hateful tone, scorning the carcass by spitting the remaining blood over his dirtied state.

Tsukune sighed as he started to check the ID's of the numerous men since some were far beyond recognition. Odd, the assailant here (and once more, it was deduced to be a single person's doing from the few hairs that they found; all belonging to the same person without any trace of fingerprints or skin cells) was obviously the same as the one from the last notable incident, the one that had become known as 'Hail Mary' from the extensive use of the 'Virgin-blood' rounds when faced with the primary target. At least, that was what could be deduced.

Virgin-Blood rounds were a vile contraption to say the least, bullets encased in the silver of smelted down relics of the Christian faith, including and notably so in the case of this user; the holy Vatican cross' of the Pope and the upper Sacristan of the major Ecclesiarch. What the bullet was made of was indeed something for monsters to fear, but what really made them so gruesome was the ammunitions innards.

Blood; the Virgin blood of the sanctified women of the church, women who were born into fanaticism, raised as zealots who wholly believed in their Lord and his so-called Omni benevolence, even willing to go so far as to die in order to create the means to slay the thought-to-be unjust in the eyes of the Lord. And by God, the blood of the sanctified women of the church sure as hell did a number on Yokai-kind...

Tsukune was brought back from his thoughts at the sound of his name being called frustratingly by Kiria, "Tsuki-kun" Tsukune turned to the Chimera, "I don't think you were even listening to me..." he observed, leaning irritantly onto the palm of his hand, his elbow against the table.

Tsukune sighed and rolled his eyes, "We're at work, I was thinking about what could've happened here" he explained, to which the silver-haired hellion clicked his tongue loudly, his feet pushing against the table to lean his chair on the rear legs

"Well maybe you should be more inclined to hear me out when you were the one who initiated the conversation..." he drawled, seemingly bored with where the conversation was going to himself.

Tsukune sighed quietly and glanced sideways at the boy, "Alright, please repeat yourself. I was rude and I apologise..." he said near-monotone. Tsukune knew he was in the wrong here but when this other was Kiria Yoshii, he just found it difficult to care, especially when he was the one generally on the receiving end of the boys untraceable, scheming mind. It was near-impossible to decipher such an impulsive boy, and Tsukune had yet to do so.

Kiria exhaled, clearly bored with the situation, "Maybe later, I'm feeling like a killer.." he droned, standing from his seat and putting his hands in his pockets as he headed for the door.

Tsukune arched a brow, "We have to investigate the scene" he rolled his eyes, "And don't you mean you 'feel killer*'?" he questioned, rolling his eyes, only for them to widen when he saw the dark smirk that came his way as the Chimera continued to make his way to the large exit

"I know what I said" he muttered darkly, licking his lips carnivorously before leaving.

Tsukune slapped a hand to his forehead, "I wish they'd stop pairing me with him..." he muttered.

Tsukune walked inside a large office-room, Kiria yawning as he lagged a distance behind him. Tsukune ignored his irritable partner in favour of addressing his discoveries to the superior officer smoking a cigarette in front of him, calmly awaiting what the young boy had discovered.

"Lord Fujisaki," he started, the aforementioned man arching an eyebrow at the title "the scene has been scanned thoroughly and it can be concluded that the assailant was none other than this 'Hail Mary' character" he allowed that to sink in as he pulled out his phone and clicked a series of buttons before returning it to his pocket. "These are the photos that I took the liberty of taking throughout the area," Miyabi felt his cell vibrate and brought it out to check over the new images that Tsukune now spoke of, all of which were dead body after body, all left with slashes in vital areas of their bodies; hearts, lungs, throats, you name it, all cut or severed away.

"Please note that images 27 through 32 contain the discovered head of the house" Miyabi brought the cigarette from his lips and held it between the index and middle finger of his right hand, stubbing it out against the ash tray of his desk amongst the many other cigarette butts. He flicked through the images until he reached the number 27 as was referenced, sighing at the sight of the grotesquely deformed body, unrecognisable if not for the fact that the next image was a close-up of his infamous crystal eye.

Miyabi locked his cell and trained his eyes on the boy, saying nothing as he brought another sin stick to his lips before igniting it with a golden lighter, flicking it shut and pocketing it before exhaling a cloud of smoke, the cigarette once more between his fingers.

The boy tried not to cringe from the stench as the men went to speak, "It was as was predicted then" he stated before gesturing to the silver-haired hellion behind Tsukune with his cigarette, "I assume the brat was of no use?" he questioned, though it once more appeared to be a statement.

Tsukune nodded, not sure whether or not to be insulted himself at 'brat', knowing that he was over a year younger than the playful little demon. "Yoshii-san also left the scene within ten minutes, leaving for the nearby town before slaying a total of...?" he turned to gaze expectantly at the uncaring hellion

"five people; three men, one boy and a girl" he stated nonchalantly, "Though the men tasted awful, the boy was somewhat adequate and of course I always prefer the taste of a female" he smirked, baring his carnivorous side once more to the irritance of Tsukune.

"You've made more work for the rest of us, the cover-team will have to-"

"Do nothing" Kiria interrupted, surprising Tsukune to the hellion's amusement before continuing, "I used charm on a nearby bystander and had him finish them all off" he smirked toothily, "Check the news, they'll be calling him a cannibal right about now" he laughed

Tsukune cringed lightly, this was why he didn't too much enjoy working with the sadistic little hellion. He was one of very few people that Tsukune knew he could not defeat as well as one of even fewer people who could make the boy shiver to his very core should they want to.

Tsukune gulped quietly; the hellion had made him do so before, and good Lord it was terrifying...

"Well it isn't like we need to worry about such trivial matters anyway, isn't that right Lung Cancer?" Kiria asked with a playful smirk, uncaring of how Miyabi reacted to the comment, his eyes narrowing a fraction of a centimetre for but a moment before he regulated himself

"No, you don't" he confirmed, agitated by the boys roundabout way of talking to supposed 'superiors', "Though we would highly appreciate you not making more work for the lot of us, could you do that?" he asked, sighing as he got the highly expected reply, that being a mocking laugh before the boy stroked a hand through his majestic, silver locks

"I could, I mean..." the Hellion shrugged half-heartedly, "...I am indeed capable of such a thing-"

"However..." Miyabi supplied, knowing where he was going with this from the get-go, eliciting an amused smirk from the silver-haired, Demon child

"Indeed, however..." he looked to Tsukune, humour dancing in his mismatched eyes, "...I believe it would be imperative for me not to do so due to the fact I really don't give two shits about your workloads." he then turned to Miyabi with that same mocking smile, "And the one shit I may be capable of giving one time or the next is on increasing it just to rile up you penny-pinching moneybags" he informed matter-of-factly, though Tsukune simply sighed and rolled his eyes at the boy, once again capturing an amused and sadistic look that he would really have rathered not to have seen due to its impending realisation as yet another time in his short life that would involve this little demon traumatising him...

"Fatigued, Tsukune?" he licked his lips purposefully, showing that the shark had tasted blood and was plunging in for the kill now, approaching his prey and circling the younger boy with his piercing but humoured gaze never leaving him, "If you're tired then you should probably get to bed, we have another assignment tomorrow, do we not?" Kiria whipped his head to the side to brush some hair from his view, revealing the gorgeous face that hid his dark and sadistic 'true' personality.

Tsukune stood mostly still, not wanting to turn and face the boy that frankly frightened him. Instead, he did his best in keeping his gaze on Miyabi, though to his disappointment, the elder man had left for his desk to get a refill of scotch from his container there, turning to watch the two with an entertained expression that only served to have Tsukune's heart plummet as his last lifeline was cut, only adding another beat per second to his heart rate as the man began to idly sip his quality beverage.

Tsukune cleared his throat out of fear of his voice coming out hoarse, "We do" he confirmed, silently grateful that his voice sounded as stoic as usual, masterfully concealing his increasing nervousness from being so openly predated by the carnivorous silverette, "We are being called upon to move over to America to bolster the defences involved in guarding Daniel Elroy" he supplied, eyes meeting the hellion's as he circled to his front, "The intel that has been scavenged concludes that it is more than likely that he will be the next target to hit, thus all of the best are being sent in due to the unwarranted power the enemy has" he said seriously, Miyabi laughing aloud at it, to Tsukune's confusion and Kiria's amusement

"Spoken like a soldier" he said, Tsukune nodding at the praise before Miyabi shook his head, adding on, "I'm surprised..." he started, necking the rest of his scotch before turning and making for the premium chair behind his desk, "...I thought you were more than just a soldier Tsukune" he said, an unimpressed and judging look in his eyes that surprised the boy further, having to conceal his ire when Kiria started to snicker at his discomfort from his side.

Miyabi sat in his chair and straightened a stack of paperwork there before idly gesturing to the door with the cigarette in his left hand, "Now leave, I have matters to attend to" he said, leaving no room for talking back as the two made haste in leaving, moreso in Tsukune's case, turning to see clear mirth in the others eyes

"What?" he asked seriously, not amused in the slightest, though the sentiment was clearly not shared as the other suddenly burst into a fit of laughter obviously directed at Tsukune, irritating him further

"You just got told" he ribbed, putting a hand on Tsukune's shoulder, the touch making him flinch as if the hellion's skin were alight with scorching flames, "I'll see you tomorrow, soldier" he said as he passed by him, Tsukune simply stood there, not stupid enough to make a move against the other and instead focusing his thoughts to calming down, though that was made far more difficult by the sound of scalding laughter in the air, getting quieter as his 'associate' left to do whatever the fuck he intended to...

Not like anyone here beyond Miyabi would even try to stop him in fear of getting slaughtered...

Meanwhile, somewhere in Maine of the USA

"In the name of the father..."

steps echoed throughout the eerily silent halls

"and of the Son..."

A click was audible as a hand stretched out to grab and move a door handle, a weak but stifled sob reaching the ears of the intruder

"And of the Holy..."

The door opened fully, the intruders luminous but cruel, golden gaze landing on the terrified woman who cradled her child in her arms, the woman who had gotten away...

But for how long?

"Spirit..."

A cruel smirk stretched across the features of the cruel assailant of whom must have been sent by Satan himself as he raised his arm up at a torturously slow rate, levelling the barrel of his gun with her chest, her sobs increasing in volume as she began to fervently beg for the lives of her children far more predominantly over her own

"AMEN"

None would even be capable of hearing the screams of the dying woman along with her children, gunshots ringing out, though none would come for her, for she was to die tonight by the hand of God himself

The Lord has called upon them and he has sent them over to his side

'Forever and always in his service, when at peace and when at war...'

*For those of you who don't know, 'I feel killer' means that they're either bored or exhausted, it's a thing that people tend to say around where I'm from

Sorry for the late chapter guys, I have college work and Writers block, both in severe amounts and with the first increasing the intensity of the second...

I intend to have action in this next chapter, the long-awaited confrontation between the unknown organisations forerunning figures and Tsukune himself along with the help of Akua and... maybe a little aid from Kiria's end too? ;)

Anyway, still deciding who I'll cover after this too, I'm feeling that it will either be Ruby or San that Tsukune gets to meet and of course become their White Knight like he always has the habit of doing. Other than them, I could have him have another moment with either Moka or Kokoa since I intend to have him away from Mizore for another while for now.

Anyway, I say this now since I want to know what you guys would prefer for when I actually get to that part of the story, so send in what you would prefer.

Beyond that, thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed. If you did then please drop a favourite, follow or review, I deeply and sincerely appreciate every one, they give both inspiration as well as the means in becoming a better writer than I am as of now.

I'll apologise again for the chapters absence before saying the final goodbye's

Au Revoir for now Readers! ^^
