A/N - I was contemplating putting this up last night. However, today Kaley Cuoco got her Star on the Walk of Fame and I felt this a very fitting day and time to add something to this collection! I know it's Christmas themed but it's been on my mind for a while and since it's getting colder and I got my Christmas blanket out a few days ago when I came home for some rest on doctor's orders and then took it back to my house, I say it's an appropriate time anyway! Hope you all enjoy :)
"Okay, I know my gift wasn't that good," Penny began, retrieving a large pink bow from a gift bag to the side of the couch, "but I saved the best 'til last. I got you-"
"I know, I know," Leonard laughed, putting a hand on her thigh. "You got me this." He slid his hand further up her thigh with a smirk.
"Nice," Penny leaned in to kiss him on the lips, "try," she tapped his nose with her finger, "Hofstadter."
He couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. Sex as a Christmas gift was one of the best parts of the day, if not the best part of the day. Penny was never scared to be adventurous, so it was never just sex. "Oh. So no sex?"
Standing up, Penny simply smiled at her husband as she walked to their bedroom. "There'll be sex. You'll see. I got you something special. Just wait here, baby."
"Uh... okay." Leonard raised a curious brow as she disappeared into the bedroom. He wondered what her final gift was and how she had hidden it if it wasn't sex; with the majority of their things packed up for moving in a few days, there was very little space for her to be able to hide something from him. He listened for a while to a variety of interesting sounds before they stopped. He waited a moment before asking "can I come in now?"
"Umm..." Penny took an audible breath. "Yeah, come in."
Excited by the surprise gift and curious by her tone, he got up and entered their bedroom.
She stood with her back facing to him, completely naked bar the red Christmas-themed panties with the named reindeer around the waistband she had put on in the morning. They were incredibly, actively un-sexy in his opinion, but he decided her beauty was enough to excuse them. Even he didn't have Christmas boxers.
"So we are having sex?" Leonard asked, grinning as he removed his jacket and hoodie in an instant.
Taking another moment to herself, Penny bit her lip as she turned around to face him. Her hands were either side of the large pink bow she'd stuck onto her stomach, which was protruding slightly, giving sudden explanation to her recently newfound desire to wear anything oversized and been turned away from him whenever she was topless. As Leonard gaped at her, Penny wasted no time in explaining this gift.
"It's a girl - I found out last week, the scans are in an envelope on your desk at work. She's due mid-May. When the doctor confirmed the pregnancy and booked my scans she joked that the fourth month one being due just before Christmas would make a 'hilarious yet informative' gift for the father and when I was driving home I decided I would, I'd save it until Christmas no matter how hard it was because... you deserve something amazing and here it is. I gave up acting but now I'm glad I took all those classes because it was the biggest effort to try and control those mood swings when you were around, or pretend I'd changed my pill and that's why my boobs were bigger, or explain a whole bunch of other stuff that would give it away. I had to turn away and I couldn't look at you during sex and-and the shower, I know I yelled at you yesterday but I didn't want you to see yet so I'm sorry - I yelled at you a lot recently, I didn't mean to. And now I know the effort of keeping this a secret was worth it because the way you're looking at me; nobody has even made me cry just from the way they looked at me."
Penny's voice cracked at the end, happy tears falling gently from her eyes as she closed the gap between herself and Leonard. The relief of finally telling him was immeasurable; if happiness had a definition then this moment was it. His shocked half-smile as he stared at her in awe was all the response she needed from him, and she put her hands on his face while he placed his on her stomach tenderly.
"This is..." Leonard's voice was almost a whisper. "Amazing."
"Amazing." Penny agreed.
"I love you." Leonard stated, wiping softly at Penny's tears with his thumbs before kissing her. His hands ran lightly down her body as he leaned down into a crouch until his face was level with her stomach, his hands once more holding either side. "And I love you, baby girl."
"I love her too, Leonard." Penny said, in total admiration of the whole situation.
Leonard looked up with a smile before standing again. "She's going to be so perfect."
"Uh-huh." Penny nodded, looking into his eyes. "But now I'm cold and naked and sex is pretty much a tradition so take your pants off, Daddy. Your final Christmas gift really is this."
