I do not own.
Six paced his room. He couldn't bring himself to watch as Sam made moves on Holiday. He had to finally admit to himself that he cared deeply for her. Yet he can't bring himself to say anything to her because he was scared. Not just scared of rejection but also what that means in terms of how he would live his life. He would have to less reckless; he had to come back from his missions because someone was waiting for him. He had a difficult enough time adjusting to the idea that he was a mentor… father even… to some kid. The thought of an actual relationship was almost unfathomable.
The door slid open and Sam walked in.
Six looked at him in surprise. "Back already?"
"She doesn't want to talk to me… I mean you." Sam sighed.
"Yeah, that makes things complicated." Al agreed walking through the wall.
Six glared at them.
"You said that all you were going to do is tell her…" Six could barely say the words.
"It's a little hard when she won't give him the time of day." Al pointed out.
"Six, you know her…" Sam began.
"Maybe I use to… but after the memory wipe…" Six gritted his teeth.
"Okay, but forget about that. I know there must be something in here…" He pointed at his chest. "That tells you something about her. What do you think would reach her?"
Six looked away.
"Six?" Sam was losing patience. "I know this is difficult for you but I need you to stop being emotionally constipated and work with me here. I want you to come with me and start helping me be you."
"You sure that's a good idea?" Al asked.
Sam waved for him to shut up.
Six turned back around. "I can't have you stuck in my body while I'm stuck in limbo. Let's go."
"I guess that's one way to put it." Al said skeptically. "Not exactly romantic though."
Six ignored him and walked out.
"Sam? Are you sure you should rely on Prince Charming there?" Al motioned in the direction of Six.
"Yes, he loves her, Al. I can feel it in his bones. He just can't express it. We're going to help him." Sam walked out the door.
"We? Since when did this become a we?" Al frowned following after them.

Al confirmed that she was in the room.
"You're right. She is in her office." Sam said mildly surprised.
"Rebecca doesn't lie very well. If she says she has to write a report, she probably needs to write a report. And as I recently found out, she does her work in her office." Six said. "Well, go in."
Sam knocked on the door. "Rebecca, can I talk to you?"
There was silence on the other side.
"I know you're in there. I will stay outside all night if I have to." Sam said. Six raised an eyebrow.
There was more silence but eventually the door slid open. Holiday stood with her arms crossed.
"I was tempted to see if you'd really stay out here." Holiday said wryly.
"You know I would." Sam said. "We need to talk."
Holiday raised an eyebrow.
"Please." Sam added.
Holiday stepped aside to let him in. Sam walked in. Six was close behind. She walked past him to her seat. She looked at him expectantly.
Sam cleared his throat indicating for Six to start. Six was so quiet that Sam was afraid that he wasn't going to say anything. Just as he was about to make up something, Six started speaking.
"Rebecca, I'm sorry… I'm sorry that I can't remember who I use to be. I wish I could be that man before my memory was wiped. You deserve better than that. But whatever I've lost up here, there's something in here that tells me that you are someone special, someone I can't lose. You are the strongest, smartest woman I've ever met. I need to know if I have any chance…" Sam stopped speaking Six's speech. Holiday had gotten up and was walking to him.
When she was facing him, Sam pulled off the sunglasses. She placed a hand on his face.
"Actually, I should be the one apologizing." She said softly. "Instead of focusing so much on your missing memory, I should have focused on how much you are still you. I guess I'm not making much sense."
"You are and you don't have to apologize." Sam placed his hand on top of hers.
"Sam, it's working! Ziggy says that they get married and have two… no three children." Al said excitedly.
"What?" Six looked incredulously at Al. "When? How?"
"Yeah, don't worry about it." Al said sagely. "You have something special. Don't blow it."
Six was stunned but then nodded. "Thanks." He said simply.
Rebecca leaned in as Sam lowered his head. Rebecca closed her eyes. As the gap between them closed, a bright blue light engulfed Sam.

When they parted, Rebecca took a deep breath. "Wow. That was… wow."
Six gave her a small smile. "I hope that was satisfactory."
She gave a chuckle. "More than satisfactory."
"Maybe we can grab some dinner somewhere?" He asked.
He was gratified to see her face light up. "I'd love to." She took his sunglasses and placed them back on his face.
He offered her his arm which she accepted.
"It's odd. I could have sworn there was a flash of lighting before we…" Rebecca blushed a little.
"I'm sure it was nothing." Six reassured her. "Everything is going to be fine now." Under his breath he whispered, "Thanks, Sam."
And that's the end. I had a hard time finding a satisfactory finish. I hope it was passable. Thank you for reading and reviewing. I really wanted to finish this so I can work on my Lost story now.
So what happened to Sam? I'm sure he has leapt into another host to help him or her get their life back on the right path. But I'm not the right person to write his story.
God Bless.
