Koga sat on the grass in the middle of a field, staring into the night sky. His head still hurt after what had happened between him and the slayer. He still didn't understand why she had decided to stay while he fought his beast. A shuffling caught his attention and he whipped his head to the left, smelling the air.
The woman that he was thinking about suddenly came into view. He watched as she hovered where he was sitting, as if she was contemplating something. Her throat bobbed due to her gulp and she moved to turn back around and go back to where she had come from.
"What is it?" He asked, stopping her.
Sango turned back to him, her eyes bright in the moon light.
"I was just seeing if you were alright."
Koga's blue eyes glowed in the light, and Sango could feel her heart race. For some reason, she was not frightened of him at this moment and decided to walk over to him again.
"Is it alright if I sit?"
Koga nodded his head and scooted over a little bit.
Sango crossed her legs and breathed in the midnight air. It was so crisp and clean, filling her lungs and making her feel at ease.
Koga watched the human, she semi fascinated him, they all did. Ever since he had stumbled upon Kagome, he had grown a small soft spot for them. He no longer let his wolves attack villages whenever they wanted to.
"I wanted to apologize for earlier." Sango said to him, catching his attention again.
Koga glanced over at her, his tail swishing.
"I guess I can have quite a temper when I get angry."
Koga snorted and smirked at her. "That's an understatement Slayer."
She rolled her eyes, but cracked a small smile.
His eyes turned dark again however, he turned and looked at her, his eyes almost..sad.
"Please know, I may be a demon, but I do not go around raping women. I would never…" He stopped and looked back up at the moon.
Sango watched his throat constrict with anger towards his actions. She felt her heart speed up and she reached out for his hand, gripping his fingers.
Looking down at their joined hands, he managed a smile.
Sango watched the wind move the grass around them, the clouds now shielding out the moon's full light, little rays poking through.
"It's so beautiful out here. I could just sit here forever." She said to him, her hand never leaving his.
Koga had a couple of questions for the woman beside him, but he wasn't sure how he should go about asking them. He didn't want her to be rubbed the wrong way.
Sango felt him stiffen; sensing something was wrong, "Is there a problem?"
"Tell me why you ran off. You're never away from your group Slayer, something must of happened."
She sighed and finally removed her hand from his, he stared down where the appendage had been and felt a foreign loneliness race through his veins, and he rolled his eyes, shaking off his claws.
"It was Miroku. I don't know, I thought he could change from being a lech, but, I was wrong, he couldn't even change for me. I don't know what I was expecting. I had taught myself after the death of my family, to expect nothing from anybody but myself. And to trust nobody, but myself. And Kilala."
Koga could understand where she was coming from. After the death of his comrades, he had fallen into a slight depression; they had been slaughtered, all thanks to Naraku. The same with the slayers family.
"I just felt foolish for even remotely trusting him. Especially with something as fickle as my heart. I had never understood the concept of love; it seemed like such a wasteful emotion and a waste of my time. The only people I had loved unconditionally were my family and my village. I could never let my guard down enough because I had people to protect."
She took a shuddering breath, "And I failed them."
Koga looked at her, as she tried to keep her tears from falling. It was his turn to reach out and comfort her, he understood how she felt.
Sango watched as his blue eyes caught the moon light, and it made her heart thud against her breast bone. She swallowed and caught herself moving away from him. She felt like this man, demon before her was like…poison. He was easily working his way into her veins filtering into her blood, poisoning her.
Not even Miroku had this effect on her.
Sango's mind went back to what had transpired between them days before. He had hurt her, but she knew that was not of any fault of his, if anything it was probably hers. She knew not to provoke him, and yet she did it anyway. There was nothing she could do about it now. Her father had always taught her forgiveness was the best method, especially for those who deserved it.
He raised an eyebrow at her when he saw her move away. Maybe he had said something wrong?
She looked back at him, his eyes still catching the light. Sango couldn't help herself as her hand went up to tangle into his hair. It was so soft; she remembered how it felt when they…well when they were intimate with each other.
Koga watched as the woman tangled her soft hands in his hair.
She cracked a smile and pulled his hair out of its twine. It cascaded about his shoulders, like gentle black waves. Sango looked at it, and felt a twinge of jealousy. "It's not fair," she fumed, giggling slightly.
"What's not fair?"
"That your hair is so beautiful, and you're not the only one. Sesshomaru's hair is gorgeous to! I guess it's a demon thing."
Koga could only focus on the delicate hand that moved through his head in soft strokes, igniting desire into his groin. He never had a woman do this for him. Catching his breath, he caught her hand. Sango almost pulled back when she saw the flame flicker in his irises.
"Woman, if you don't want to be beneath me again, I would take heed to stop doing that."
Sango was semi-shocked at what he had said to her, and even more shocked at the erogenous image that flashed through her mind. Squeaking she pulled away and hastily stood up. Staring down at him again, she turned and made her way back to camp. Well, at least they had been cordial with each other, other than screaming and yelling.
Koga watched her go, and watched the sway of her hips as she disappeared through the tree line. Oh hell, that was close..
