Chapter 10

At Sesshomaru's Fortress.

The sun already rose and the visitors had just finished breakfast and are ready to leave the castle.

"Are you guys really leaving?" Rin asked, she accompanied her new friends to the gate. They wore their original clothes and also brought food which Rin eagerly asked them to.

"Yeah, we need to find our friends. Thank you very much Rin-chan" Nanami thanked her. "And thank you for letting us stay for the night." Yura thanked her. Rikuo smiled at Rin and thanked her.

"You're all very much welcome." Rin smiled at them. "Remember! Once you encounter a small stream with a crossroad. Take the left path, that's where the nearest village is." Rin reminded. "We will!" The three chorused and started to walk away. Rin waved goodbye, and the three waved back until they were already out of sight.

"So we're back in the forest again." Rikuo disappointingly said.

Back at kaede's village

Sesshomaru sighed and was about to leave. But Kagome stopped him. "Wait Sesshomaru." She called. "Are you going to return to your palace?"

Sesshomaru looked at her, he wanted to ignore the question and just leave but knowing the priestess, she would not stop to bother and ask him.

"It depends, I am still looking for the ogre's hideout. Why do you bother asking?" Sesshomaru blankly answered.

Inuyasha jumped in the conversation "What? You still haven't found those monkeys' homes? So do you need help then?" he interrupted, he smirked at Sesshomaru with a cheeky look. Sesshomaru got annoyed at his half-brother's face and wants to punch him. Inuyasha saw his reaction and invited him for a fight. "Oh, so you wanna fight!?"

Kagome shoved Inuyasha's face away from Sesshomaru's sight. "Ignore Inuyasha, That Nanami person and her two companions your mother mentioned. Someone's looking for her." Kagome said and is still trying to make Inuyasha's face look away from Sesshomaru.

"Do you mean the fox, the snake and the penguin?" Sesshomaru asked and looked at the three yokai behind Kagome. Tsurara flinched when she was called a penguin. Inuyasha, Mizuki and Tomoe chuckled. "Mou! Shut up!" The yuki-onna shouted.

Kagome nodded. "So can we come with you then?"

Inuyasha reacted "What do you mean WE?" He asked Kagome.

Kagome pulled back Inuyasha's head and released him.

"Even if Sesshomaru didn't come here, we're still going there, Rin dropped this when she left with Kirara yesterday." Kagome showed a small bag filled with a Kimono and medicinal herbs.

"Hand it to Sesshomaru then." Inuyasha replied.

"But he's not even sure if he's going to return to his palace immediately. Also, it's better to go in a group than alone." Kagome looked at Sesshomaru and begged with puppy dog eyes. "Can we?"

Normally Sesshomaru would find this a bother and ignore them. But ever since he travelled with companions for the last three years just after Naraku's defeat, he got used to it and his behaviour drastically changed during that time.

Sesshomaru sighed once again. "Alright."

Kagome jumped in joy. "Thanks... Big brother." She teased him. Sesshomaru just gave an annoyed face at her.

"Hey kagome, you should really stop teasing him, who knows when he'll snap." Inuyasha warned.

"Inuyasha, there's no need to hide you're jealousy, just call him Big brother too." Then the sound of a sword being unsheathed can be heard from Sesshomaru.

"Hey! There's no way I'm going to call you that! "Inuyasha announced. Then the sound of unsheathing stopped midway. Sesshomaru started to walk and the other's started to follow too.

After a few more walks. He started to use his ability to fly. He warned his companions about this and they agreed. Kagome hopped on Inuyasha's back, Mizuki summoned his shiki and had Tsurara ride with him. While Tomoe conjured his fox fire and made it act as a board and surfed it in midair. Even though Inuyasha and Kagome travelled through the land, they were able to catch up with the others.

An hour later they arrived at the forest where Sesshomaru's territory begin. They entered the forest. Sesshomaru, Mizuki and Tomoe lowered their flight so Inuyasha could see them through the thick trees. After a few minutes, Inuyasha sensed another presence in the area. While his mind is busy thinking about that other presence, he didn't see a root popping out of the ground. This made him trip which sent Kagome flying forward.

Luckily, Tomoe was able to swoop her up and gently put her down on the ground. Mizuki stopped and went to Tomoe and Kagome. Sesshomaru stayed up above the trees and observed the surroundings, everyone sensed another yokai beside them. Inuyasha got mad at that yokai, he blamed its presence for distracting him and nearly got Kagome injured. He finally figured out where that uninvited yokai is, it was running away from them as he sensed its presence rapidly disappearing in one direction.

"I'm going to kick your bu-" Inuyasha readied his self to run towards the yokai and punch it till it's half dead but got cut off when Sesshomaru landed behind him and purposely stepped on his kimono's hakama. This made Inuyasha plummet to the ground. Inuyasha squirmed to get up and wanted an explanation for his behaviour.

"An ogre?" Mizuki stated. They saw an ogre, the presence they sensed was that of the ogre. But the ogre they saw is smaller than they expected, it's even smaller than Tsurara, the smallest in their group. It was still running but still visible from their line of sight. Then suddenly, the ogre disappeared.

"Wha!?" Everyone except Sesshomaru reacted. The ogre suddenly disappeared out of the blue.

"Is the ogre from this time possess such power?" Tsurara asked, it reminded her of her young master's ability to disappear.

"No." Kagome, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru chorused.

And another surprising thing appeared. Three ripped pieces of paper went flying and glued itself to Tomoe, Mizuki and Tsurara's faces. The three tried to pull it off their faces. The scene made the three yokai look like a bunch of idiots. Mizuki reminded it of the omniyoji girl's talisman. Then it flew away from their faces and the three pieces fused into one and became a very familiar talisman.

"The omniyoji!" Tomoe and Mizuki shouted.

"Kekkain-san!" Tsurara recalled.

The talisman floated in front of them and slowly hovered towards the direction where the ogre disappeared. And it flew down.

"It flew down..." Kagome wondered. They started to walk near it and found nothing but a pile of leaves and rocks around it.

Mizuki wandered in the area. "Huh? Where did that talisman go-o!?"As he stepped at the pile of leaves and revealed a hole hidden underneath, he fell down.

"Mizuki-kun!" Tsurara and Kagome called. They looked down the hole and saw Mizuki lying on the ground but was still conscious. The hole wasn't very deep so everyone decide to jump inside too revealing a tunnel.

"Look at the talisman" Tomoe called Mizuki and Tsurara's attention. The talisman stopped to hover away, it looked like it was waiting for them.

"There's no mistaking it, that talisman belongs to Kekkain-san" Tsurara ascertained.

"What's the talisman doing here then?" Kagome curiously asked. "Also, this hole..." she walked pass the talisman and stopped at the edge of the tunnel they jumped in.

"It's an Underground Chamber." Everyone also followed her. As Tomoe, Mizuki and Tsurara came near the talisman, it hovered away again, and this time it hovered further in the tunnel. At the edge, revealed an underground chamber, it was a very large chamber, there were large stalactites up the ceiling of the chamber and large stalagmites on the ground and there was also little water flowing around it.

They saw the talisman hover to the side as it went out of the tunnel and revealed a stair connecting it to the side of the chamber. Everyone followed the talisman and crossed the stairs, the further they left the tunnel the darker it gets. Tomoe decide to use his fox fire as a source of light. As he conjured his fox fire, their surrounding was lit up with light.

"I know why you can't find the ogre's hideout." Inuyasha spoke to Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru knew the reason too. A lot of ogres popped out everywhere. They were surrounded by hundreds of them.

Everyone formed a circle around. Kagome pulled out her sacred bow and arrow, Tsurara equipped her naginata, Mizuki summoned a lot of his snake shiki, Tomoe doubled his fox fire, Inuyasha drew Tetsusaiga and Sesshomaru remained to use his poison claw and avoided to use bakusaiga due to its massive destructive power.

"Heh, so after all these years, these puppet mongrels hid and multiplied underground huh?" Inuyasha grinned.

AN: Yey, I managed to have Sesshy tag along! If you're wondering why Sesshy IS still tagging along with them, it is because of the ogres. At what Inuyasha hinted, Sesshomaru is supposed to eradicate unnecessary actions around his territory – which are the ogres causing a ruckus.
