It has been only a few months after Spyro and Cynder left their egg with Nina, Flash, and Sparx when it started to hatch. When the three dragonflies heard the dragon or dragoness start to break out of the egg they flew over to it, waiting to see the child. After a few minutes the child inside was able to create a small hole in the top of the egg. Sparx, who was growing impatient, decided to look through the hole. Just as he reached the hole in the egg and stuck his head in the hole a white snout pushed him away.

The young dragon took a deep breath through its nose, taking in the foul stench of the swamp, before retreating back into the egg. Shortly after the dragon tried to create a bigger hole in the egg. It took a few more minutes but when it broke out of the shell Flash and Nina flew closer to the new born dragoness. The dragoness had white scales, and a golden underbelly and wing membrane. She also had two golden horns on top of her head, which at the moment were just small lumps, but would later grow in to something similar to Cynder's horns. The young dragon also had a tail blade that was shaped like a leaf, like her father.

Flash and Nina then approached the small dragoness.

"Hey there, we are your parents." Nina said high pitched. The dragoness started to sniff the two dragonflies before smiling at them.

Now it was Sparx's turn to introduce himself. "I'm Sparx, and I'm going to be your older brother." the young dragoness then approached Sparx and started to sniff him before sneezing on him. Sparx's smile quickly turned into a frown when this happened and said, "Thanks a lot."

Thinking what she did was a good thing the young dragoness smiled, and started to look around.

"What should we name her?" asked Flash.

"Oooooo, how about Razor? Or, or Razor-Blade? What about Golden-Razor-Bl..."

"Sparx!" Flash and Nina said in unison.

"What"?

"Its female, not a male dragon Sparx" said Flash

"How about Hope?" asked Nina?

"Hope, yeah. I like that name." said Flash.

"Hmph." Sparx grunted. "It's not as cool as mine." he said under his breath.

Over the next 16 years Hope became more and more curious and adventurous each passing day, which got her in to a lot of trouble some times. Flash and Nina grew to a respectful senior age and Sparx grew to a young adult dragonfly...and for once in his life, more responsible. One day Hope and Sparx left the village to explore.

"Hope can we stop and find something to eat? We've been at this for hours" asked Sparx tiredly.

"Aren't you always hungry" asked Hope?

"No not always, just most of the time" said Sparx. "Besides I have to follow you so you don't get into any trouble, and that take a lot out of me".

"If its so tiring then stop following me, I'm old enough to take care of my self" said Hope.

"Last time I did, you almost got yourself crushed by a tree" said Sparx bluntly.

"That was a long time ago, I'm sure it wont happen again"

"First of all that happened two weeks ago, secondly I am going to follow you whether you like it or not".

"Fine, but you have to stop complaining about being hungry then, deal"?

"Deal"

After they ate some food Hope and Sparx headed home. On the way back to the village Hope saw her reflection in a near by pond and couldn't help but stare at her reflection. She new she wasn't a dragonfly, but she couldn't figure out what she was. She asked her parents and Sparx several times what she was, but they would always tell her that they will tell her when she is older. She also wondered why she had to wait, why couldn't they tell her then and there?

Deciding to ask again, Hope said, "Sparx, can you tell me what I am?"

"You know I can't tell you until your older." replied Sparx.

"But why?" asked Hope as she became frustrated.

"Because, mom and dad think it would be best to have you wait." said Sparx.

"But why is that, what is the worst thing that could happen?" asked Hope.

"Look, mom and dad said that they will tell you when you are older so you will have to wait" said Sparx.

"but when will I be old enough" asked Hope?

"I don't know" said Sparx.

"Well can you at least tell me who my real parents are, or at least tell me what they looked like"?

"No I can't, but I can tell you this, said Sparx. Your parents were very kind and caring".

"If they were so kind and caring then why did they abandon me"?

"They didn't abandon you, some terrible things just happened and they couldn't take care of you is all".

"What happened to them" asked Hope?

"I think it would be best if mom and dad told you" said Sparx.

"Does that mean I am going to have to wait till I'm older to find out" asked Hope?

Sparx let out a sigh before saying "I don't know, but I guess I can try to convince mom and dad to tell you what you want to know".

"Thank you Sparx, you are the best brother anyone could wish for." said Hope.

"Yeah, I know I am. Now let's head back to the village." said Sparx.

Once they got bad home, Sparx talked to Flash and Nina. After a while Sparx was able to convince his parents to tell Hope the truth, or at least part of the truth.

"Hope." Nina started "Me and your father have been thinking about it, and we've decided that you deserve to know what you really are."

"You're not a dragonfly." said Flash "You are a dragon, Hope."

"What's a dragon" asked Hope?

"They are very powerful creature" said Nina.

"Who were my real parents then?" asked Hope.

"They were dragons just like you, only your father was an um… red dragon with a white under belly and had a tail blade similar to yours, while your mother was an um… blue dragon with a golden underbelly and had horns similar to yours. That is all we really know about them. We found them one day close to death, and they asked us to watch over you in their place." said Flash nervously, hoping that Hope would not ask more question about her parents.

"Do you know how or what killed them" asked Hope.

"We are not certain but they had several cuts and bruises when we found them, so they most likely died from blood loss and internal bleeding. They most likely got the bruises and cut from some battle against a strong opponent." said Flash.

"I have one more question, are there more dragons out there?"

"There are thousands of dragons out there." said Sparx. "In fact there is a dragon city full of them."

"Could I go there some day." asked Hope?

"Sure. In fact you can leave tomorrow if you want, but only if Sparx comes with you and have to be back in a week." said Flash.

Hope could barely hold her excitement. "Oh thank you so much mom and dad". "Come on Sparx lets go get prepared for tomorrow" said Hope before running off in search of things to take with her

"Hay wait up" shouted Sparx!

Once Hope and Sparx were out of sight, Nina glanced at Flash.

"I still don't think it was a good idea to lie about the whereabouts of her parents."

"I know dear, but it was Spyro's decision to not tell her so we should respect that, even if it's wrong. Besides, now there's a chance that Hope will find them."

"Do you really think that she might find them" asked Nina?

"I don't know, but I do hope so".

Well what did you guys think of this chapter. Now I know that I said in the last chapter that there was going to be a torture scene in this chapter, but the idea I had, had several plot hole in it that could only be filled by either ending the story in the next two chapters.
