Disclaimer: I do not claim ownership of X-Men; I only claim ownership of Tara.
TARA:
I sat in the hospital chair as I forced the others to go get food. Charles was asleep. We were able to get him to a hospital but not in time. He would never be able to walk again. As I was thinking this he began to wake up. I cleared my head of the thoughts so as I could tell him.
"Hey sleeping beauty…" I said softly. He looked to me. The hospital was able to take care of the injuries I received and my arm was in a sling. I was wearing blue jeans and a white tank top.
"They were able to fix you." He said with a smile. I nodded and looked down.
"How are the others?" he asked, trying to sit up. I jumped up and pushed him back down, shaking my head.
"They're in one piece. Alex had a couple of bruised ribs. Sean's ankle was sprained along with his wrist. Hank is fine. I forced them to go get food." I told him.
"And Moira?" he asked. I smiled at him and patted his hand.
"She's fine. I forced her to go home. She needed rest. She's a mess. Thinks this is all her fault." I said looking down.
"What's wrong Tara?" he asked. I looked up to him with tears in my eyes.
"I couldn't help you…" I said putting my head in my right hand. He patted my head.
"What are you talking about?" he asked.
"We didn't get you here in time." I said looking up to him. He looked at me confused then saw the look in my eyes.
"They couldn't fix it… Hank and I are going to build a wheelchair that you'll be able to use…" I said looking down. It was quiet for 5 minutes. I counted each and every second loathing my life for not being able to stop Erik and for not being able to help Charles when he got shot.
"This isn't anyone's fault Tara." Charles said. I smiled and looked up to him.
"You are now paralyzed Charles and you blame no one for what they have done…I commend you I do." I said.
"I have a different perspective than most." He said then made a face.
"When did you learn what commend meant?" he said turning to me. I had to laugh.
"I was freaking out when you were in surgery. Hank distracted me by teaching me different words." I said. Charles smiled and pat my head. All of a sudden the others came in. They quickly asked Charles how he was and all the usual things I had seen on the TV while I was waiting for Charles to wake up.
"So I hear your making a special wheelchair for me?" Charles said to Hank. He nodded and pulled out a sketchpad showing Charles the prototype we had designed.
"This is very good you two." Charles said, examining it.
"I'll be able to make it using my telekinesis as he told me to do." I said. As I stared at that I thought the wheels didn't look right.
"Can I see that?" I asked. Hank gave it to me and the pencil. I took it and redid the wheels. I then handed them back the sketch. The wheel now on the inside was the shape of an X. They smiled.
"This is perfect." Charles said and I smiled.
In two days he was released and by then we had finished the wheelchair. Thankfully this was a military hospital so hank and I were able to be in there without people trying to shoot at us except one time.
When I wheeled him out of the hospital there was a jet ready to take us home. We lied about where we went though because we didn't want the government coming to the mansion. As we were on the plane though I thought of something.
"Charles?" I asked. He wheeled over to me.
"Yes Tara?" he replied. I looked to him.
"You told me there were hundreds of us out there. We're there others like…my age?" I asked. He nodded.
"What about them?" I asked. The other looked to me confused.
"We're all better off now. We actually have a place where we are accepted…what about the others? What if they don't have that?" I asked. I did not want others that were like me and came from my home environment.
"I have a plan for this." Charles said. We all turned to him.
"These mutants need an environment where they are accepted and they can learn to control their powers. I plan to turn the mansion into a boarding school." He said and everyone except me went wide-eyed. I thought it was a good plan.
"How? I highly doubt that the government will let us open a mutant school." Alex said and Sean nodded.
"Then we don't tell them." I said and they all turned to me. I looked to them.
"We open the school but with a different approach. We'll open, Xavier's School For Gifted Children" I said with a smile. Alex smirked and Charles smiled.
"Who will be the teachers?" Hank said. I got up.
"We can be! Or you guys can be at least. Hank you can teach science. Alex can teach something like Mechanics and Sean can teach foreign language." I said and the two boys looked to Sean in shock.
"Oops…" I said.
"What did she say Sean?" Alex said. Sean looked down shyly.
"I kinda…know French and Spanish…fluently." He said.
"that's wonderful Sean!" Charles said. I looked to Charles.
"And you can help the students with their powers!" I said. Charles smiled and nodded.
"What about the other subjects?" hank said.
"We find trust worthy mutants, that's all." I said.
"We can make this work…" Moira said. I looked to Charles. I knew what he was planning to do.
When we got back to the mansion I let Moira take Charles to let them talk but I stayed in a distance. Charles didn't have the heart.
"You guys aren't men…you're X-Men" Moira said and I smiled. I did like the name. Soon though they were kissing. I blushed dark purple.
"Now Tara…" Charles thought. He sounded so sad. Going into Moira's mind I took every memory she had of us. I then put her to sleep and telekinetically set her down on the ground. I walked over to Charles.
"X-Men…I like that." I said and Charles patted my hand. "Will we always be outcasts Charles?" I asked to the man and looked down.
"It depends on if society will ever accept us." He said.
"I'm not religious but…God help us…." I said.
And that is the end of God Help The Outcasts. I am planning on making the sequel if I think I can continue it. I have a big plan on this. I also have an idea of a Harry Potter story. So I am going to make a poll later between if you want to see the harry potter story or you want me to continue Tara's journey in the world.
I am very happy of how well Tara has been accepted and I do plan on continuing the story.
