Eddie's eyes were still closed; he could hear the approach of footsteps nearing him. Opening his eyes he brought his gun up to his chest as he took one deep breath before rounding the corner and holding his gun out in front of the figure with his arms straight only to find Rachel in the same stance opposite him. Breathing a sigh of relief that he hadn't decided to shoot yet he grabbed her arm and brought her around the corner in which he had been hiding in since he had ever entered the building. He turned to Rachel speaking in hushed tones.

"Are you ok?" He asked as he placed his hands on her shoulder and gave her a kiss to her forehead.

"Yeah, although I think the teens might be a bit traumatised," Rachel sighed as she kissed his cheek quickly before pulling back and checking her gun in the darkness.

"We best get this over with then," Eddie said reluctantly as Rachel nodded her head in a silent agreement, "you stay safe now ok? And I want every bit of you in one piece," he said before he kissed her a bit longer than he did this morning.

"Ditto Mr Lawson," she giggled as stepped back from his embrace slightly.

"I love you."

"I love you too," Rachel sighed as she took off around the corner and down the corridor, starting the most dangerous mission she could think of. Trying not to get hurt for Eddie's sake.

Taking a deep breath it was time for him to be as brave as his girlfriend which was impossible really. As soon as this was over he was going to persuade her to retire and retreat to a safer job like a teacher at Waterloo Road. That in itself though could be dangerous at times. Rounding the opposite corner than Rachel, Eddie walked down the corridor the distance figure of Rachel disappearing around the next corner.

Looking down the corridor he saw a figure down the far end of the corridor looking behind one of the posters on the wall. Eddie's first victim and boy he was looking forward to it despite his nerves. Sneaking up behind the man Eddie tapped him on the shoulder as he then turned around. Smiling a coy smile at him he punched him hard across the face. Guns were their last resort if knocking them out didn't work. The man fell back against the wall helplessly before coming back up with a knife and slashing Eddie across the arm, causing his white shirt sleeve to turn crimson. Getting properly pissed off he punched him in the gut before kneeing and kicking him repeatedly as the man fell to the floor, blood pouring from his nose. The only problem now though was the man running towards him. Shit.

Walking away from Eddie at that point was probably the hardest thing she had had to do; walking away from the one person she wanted to keep her safe; the one person she wanted to keep safe. Pushing the thought to the back of her mind she kept her gun close to her; the only protection she had for now. Peering around the next corner she sighed in relief as she quickly headed for the stairs. Her office was the only place she could think of where they would be. So she begun making her way there.

Getting to the top of the stairs she looked both ways before heading for where Bridget usually worked, the fire alarm still blaring in her ears as she quickly shut it off. Rachel knew Paul was in there. It was obvious frankly. Walking towards her office door she hid her gun back in her jeans as she placed her hand on the handle. Pushing down she opened the door but then everything after that became a blur of movements that she really hadn't comprehended after feeling a slight pins and needles feeling in her arm. The only thought in her mind as her vision became partial was Eddie and not dying. Not yet anyway.

Outside

Everything was an eerie silence and that's when Peter begun to worry. It was never this quiet; something was really wrong and that bugged him. It bugged him more because if anything would happen to either of them he would never forgive himself and neither would the rest of the team. The only thing to keep him occupied was pacing up and down in front of the audience as he bit his finger nails.

"When are we intervening?" One of the officers asked as Paul suddenly stopped. This is when he had the eternal battle of keeping the two safe or listening to their orders. So, he opted for the safest option for them all.

"I told you Smith not until they say!" He shouted at him frustration as he ran his hands over his head. Looking back up at the school entrance his fears might just have come true.
