Nobody really got any sleep that night except Selina's parents. They were all worried about Barbra. To make matters worse it rained that night. After what seemed like an eternity it was morning and everybody gathered together to decide how to spilt up and search for Barbra.
"Ok it's better if we split up however we don't want anybody else getting lost so we'll split into teams of two. It'll be Harvey and Dick, Harley and Bruce, Pamela and Stephanie, Jason and Tim, and Talia and me. We can't get distracted looking for her so no couples together and no close friends together." Selina said to them. She was taking charge of looking for Barbra because it was her trip and she felt responsible for everybody there.
"What if we don't find her before your parents decide to leave? Today's our last day here Selina." Dick said to her he was worried and felt bad because he drove her away.
"If you keep up that kind of attitude then we won't find her, but we will, and she'll be ok. Now lets get going my parents said we only have five hours before were leaving." Selina said and they left in their pairs to search for Barbra. Everybody left leaving Selina with Talia.
"Ok why did you decide to put me in the same group with you. I know you hate me and want to steal Bruce from me." Talia asked Selina wondering why she had paired them up.
"Like I said I don't want any distractions. I won't even be tempted to talk to you so I can focus on finding Barbra." Selina said to her as they kept walking.
"Just so you know Bruce is getting closer to being all mine. You know I've actually kissed him. Twice by the way what have you done?" Talia asked her wondering about her and Bruce.
"Wow only twice I thought you were dedicated to this Talia. I've made out with him at least double what you have. Different ways to. Once it was sitting down, then standing up, then lying on top of each other, just two days ago I had him pushed against a tree making out with me while I wrapped my arms around his waist. Just give up Talia, Bruce is going to be mine." Selina said to her laughing that she was currently winning his affection.
"Bruce will be mine my father will make sure of it. He will also make sure you will pay." Talia said to her angrily.
"Aw you can't get a boyfriend so your gonna have daddy threaten to fail Bruce unless he dates you. How pathetic and to think I was worried you might actually be a threat to me." Selina said laughing at her.
"My father is more than just an English teacher at a stupid high school. He has more power, more influence than you can imagine, and once he gets Bruce to join the league he will be mine and I'll be able to get my revenge on you and anybody else I want to." Talia said to her. She looked Selina deeply in the eyes and could feel that Selina was truly scared of her right now.
"I hope Bruce is having a better time with his partner than I am." She whispered to herself so Talia couldn't hear.
"Hey Harley wait up not all of us are gymnasts you know." Bruce said to her. They were crossing a lake and had to jump across some stones so they wouldn't get wet.
"Come on Bruce I would expect you to do better than this just one more jump and you'll make it." Harley said trying to encourage him. Bruce then jumped over the rocks but nocked Harley down.
"Sorry about that Harley are you ok?" Bruce asked her helping her back up. He then noticed she had a terrible bruise on her arm. "Where did you get that bruise? " Bruce asked her wondering if she recently got hurt.
"Oh this its nothing. You see before we left I asked Mr. J if I could have something to remember him while I was gone for a week. So he gave me this. Promised it wouldn't go away until much after we came back." Harley said to him smiling. Bruce didn't enjoy it though.
"Wait you mean Napier beat you as a way for you to remember him. That's not right Harley thats physical abuse." Bruce said to her worried what else Napier has done to her.
"It's ok Bruce Mr. J does this sort of thing a lot. It used to hurt but I'm used to it now. That's just how he shows his love to me." Harley said to him. She then looked at her bruise on her arm and thought of Jack.
That's how Napier shows his love to you. Harley how can you love him. Do you even know what love is your so young." Bruce said to her. He was worried for her wellbeing especially in an abusive relationship with Napier.
"I might be young Bruce but I know its love. Love is when you take a person despite their faults and look past them. You accept them for who they are and give up everything to be with them. That's how I know I love Mr. J because I don't know how I'd live without him. Don't worry about me he doesn't always hit me just sometimes. We're fine and happy. Now lets go find Dick's love." Harley said to him. For a girl in an abusive relationship she seemed to know a lot about love. Bruce hope he could one day find true love with either Talia or Selina, but for now he couldn't choose.
"I hope Dick is feeling ok. If love is anything like what Harley said Dick must really be depressed right now." Bruce mumbled to himself following after Harley.
"It's my fault. I'm the one who drove her away. It's my fault. She's gone because of me." Dick just kept repeating to himself over and over again.
"Hey Dick come quick your not going to believe what I found ." Harvey said to him. Dick ran over thinking it was Barbra. He then saw Harvey alone holding a quarter.
"A quarter we are looking for Barbra Gordon not for twenty-five cents." Dick yelled at him for getting his hopes up.
"It's not just a quarter it's a special misprint see both sides are heads except one of the sides has been scratched up and crossed out. Probably because of the dirt and rocks its been under. Isn't it cool though." He said to Dick. Dick didn't care about a quarter though he wanted Barbra back just so he could apologize for his stupid actions. He then left Harvey and sat down by a tree.
"Hey Dick you seem sad anything I could possibly help you with?" Garfield showed up and saw that Dick was depressed.
"Go away Garf I'm not in the mood for you. If you must know Barbra's gone and its all my fault." Dick said to him. Normally he couldn't stand Garfield's company but he couldn't care less right now.
"I heard its a shame really. She choose you over Jason but you jumped to the wrong conclusion and drove her away. Anything I can do to help you get her back." Garfield said to him. He was being honest and wanted to help.
"Why would you help me were like worst enemies aren't we?" Dick asked wondering why Garfield would help him.
"I never hated you Dick you the one who shunned me for no reason. Besides I hate Jason. Caught him flirting with Blaze a couple days ago that jerks nothing more than a womanizer. Uses his charm to lure girls in then drops him when he's bored." Garfield said to him as he sat down next to him.
"Wait remember when you asked Barbra out for Homecoming you had somebody skywriting, said you knew a guy who could do it cheaply. Can you have him write a message in the sky for me?" Dick asked realizing he had hope yet.
"Sure I can just know that this will cost you for every letter so make the message short to get her attention then tell her everything you want to when she comes back." Garfield said to Dick as he stated to call his skywriter.
"Thanks for this Garf I guess I never really hated you after all. I just sort of took the hate I had for Jason and put it on somebody else after he left." Dick said to him. He then paid him and waited for about a half an hour. A plane flew by and wrote out "Babs I'm sorry please come back." Dick headed back to the campsite where everybody else was at waiting to see if Barbra got his message. They then headed inside the tents when it started to rain again.
"You think she saw your message Dick?" Tim asked him hoping he was feeling better.
"I know she saw it. I don't expect her to still want to go out with me or even to consider me a friend any more but as long as she comes back i'll be happy. I'll lean to earn back her friendship eventually." Dick said to him.
"Dick I got your message." He heard a quite voice say. He then exited the tent and saw Barbra standing outside. Her clothes and hair were a mess from the rain but she still looked beautiful to Dick.
"Barbra I'm sorry for what I said to you. I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions and I should have let you talk." He said to her hugging her tightly.
"It's ok Dick I was just hurt by what you said, but I know you didn't mean any of it." Barbra said to him both of them still in the rain.
"I know and I'm an idiot for having said any of that. I'm lucky your still talking to me after what happened. I don't expect you to still want to go out with me after all this." Dick said to her looking down sadly.
"But Dick I came back because..." She started but he interrupted.
"I know you came back because you accepted my apology. I'm just glad were safe even if our friendship is damaged." Dick said to her. He still not looking at her.
"Dick your doing it again will you let me explain that I want to..."
"No need to explain. I understand your point of view. We can start over if you want. Hello miss my name is Richard Grayson, but my friends call me Dick." He said to her pretending they just met.
"Dick I don't want to start over what I want is to..."
"Ok then we don't have to start over from the beginning how about we pretend this trip never happened then we can..." This time it was Dicks turn to be interrupted but not by her words but by her lips. She kissed him before he was able to finish his sentence, and the two stayed there for a while kissing each other. Enjoying each other.
"Dick your right you are an idiot. But I want you to be my idiot. Will you go out with me?" Barbra asked him hoping he's say yes this time.
"I might be an idiot but I'm not crazy and somebody would have to be insane to turn you down Babs." Dick said to the the two of them the kissed each other again as the others watched from the tents.
"Wow their kissing in the rain that's so cliché. I though Barbra would be better than that." Jason said annoyed that Barbra had turned him down for Dick.
"Your just jealous because you got rejected. Besides it might be cliché but its the most romantic cliché ever." Selina said to him. She looked at Stephanie telling her now was the best time to ask Tim out.
"Hey Tim can I talk to you for a second?" Stephanie asked him extremely nervous.
"Sure Stephanie what do you want?" Tim asked suspecting Stephanie was up to something.
"Well this whole event with Barbra and Dick has made me realize one small mistake and your true love might be gone forever. Before you came to Gotham High I was just the shy girl that sat in the corner never talking to anybody unless I had to. Always by myself. You changed that. You changed me. I have friends now, and its because of you. Since the moment I met you I knew you were special. I don't want to lose you like Barbra almost lost Dick. I guess what I'm trying to say is will you go out with me?" Stephanie asked him. She was extremely nervous, but she got tired of waiting for him to ask her.
"Yes I'll go out with you. I've wanted to ask you that since the moment I first laid eyes on you. When you returned my backpack that I stupidly forgot in line to get breakfast. I'm so glad I left it that day otherwise I might not have met you. I didn't know how to ask you out though. I couldn't even look at you without loosing the ability to think properly. I've wanted to ask you out since then but I just couldn't I was to nervous, to shy. I guess we were both shy. Thanks for being the brave one and asking first." He gave her a hug and was about to kiss her when she stopped him.
"Oh no you don't. Not in here Tim. Lets go be cliché and share our first kiss out in the rain." Stephanie said laughing.
"But Stephanie were going to get sick and schools coming up soon I don't think that's such a good idea." Tim said trying to change her mind.
"Come on you big baby lets go." Stephanie then dragged Tim out of the tent into the rain and they shared their fist kiss. They were both incredibly happy with each other. "Selina was right this is the most romantic cliché." Stephanie said to Tim laughing with him. The two of them then stared kissing each again next to Dick and Barbra while the others looked from the tents happy for the new couples. Soon it was time to go back to Gotham. The boys got into the van with Mr. Kyle and the girls with Mrs. Kyle.
"I've got to say no offense but you two must really be idiots to go out and stay in the rain just to kiss a girl. You can do that inside where its warm." Mr. Kyle said to Dick and Tim as they were driving.
"Yeah I am an idiot but at least I'm Barbra's idiot." Dick said happily. His dream had come true him and his best friend were finally more than friends.
"I told Stephanie it was a bad idea but she didn't listen, and I didn't want to our first moment together to be an argument. It was nice though so I guess it was worth it." Tim said smiling. He then stated to wonder how Stephanie and the other girls were.
"I have to know Barbra where were you hiding. We searched that entire area at least three times. We even checked the mountains nearby and the lakes." Selina asked her wondering where she could have possibly been hiding.
"Ok I wasn't hiding in the woods. That might have been were I ran off crying originally but it's not where I stayed. I ran into Blaze while I was crying and she offered to let me stay in her parents RV after I explained what had happened. I planned on coming home with them but then I saw Dick's message in the sky and knew I had to come back." Barbra said to the girls explaining where she was and why they couldn't find her.
"You sure scared us Barbra. We thought something might have happened to you. If you were gone I don't know what I'd do. Your still my friend. Besides without you who could I possibly make fun of." Selina said to Barbra being sincere while still joking around. "There's still one thing I don't understand. Garfield helped set up the message, but if you were with Blaze he should've known. Why didn't he tell Dick where you were?" Selina asked not sure about that part.
"He said he wanted to have him pay for the skywriting. Don't tell Dick though he and Garfield were just starting to get along." Barbra said to them laughing.
"So Stephanie how was you and Tim's first kiss? Was it as good as you imagined it to be?" Pamela asked Stephanie wondering if she enjoyed her first kiss.
"It was nice but I feel as though Tim wasn't making an effort to kiss me back, like I had to do all the work. Is that normal or is it just him? Or I am I the problem?" Stephanie asked them. She was new to being a girlfriend and kissing in general.
"Stephanie we've got a lot to teach you about being a girlfriend." Harley said to her. The girls then laughed enjoying their ride back. Soon enough they all arrived back at Selina's house and were saying their goodby.
"Thanks for everything Selina I had fun. Maybe we could do this again sometime except for the part where we almost loose somebody because of an emotional dilemma." Bruce said laughing he then gave Selina a hug and left to his home. Once Selina saw everybody leave she went inside her house.
"Ok everybody's gone what did you need to talk to me about?" Talia asked as she was getting impatient of waiting behind Selina's bushes.
"You don't like me and I don't care about you but I know your in love with Bruce Wayne. The only problem is Selina Kyle. I fortunately have enough dirt on her to make sure she stays away from Bruce forever. I can give it to you at a cost."
"What would the cost be? Money isn't any problem for me what do you want." Talia asked him. She desperately needed that blackmail on Selina.
"I don't care about money. I heard you talking with Selina. Your father has power. It doesn't matter what it is or where it comes from but use that power to get revenge for me and the blackmail is yours. Nobody messes with me especially not those two.
"You know I like the way you think. Maybe we could be friends Jason." Talia said to him both waiting to get their revenge.
A/N: Well heres part two of the camping trip. All of you Dick/Barbra fans your welcome for putting them together. I personally ship Dick/Barbra to so it was pretty easy for me to put them together. Tim/Stephanie was extra for anybody that likes that. I say one or two more chapters then I move on to Sophomore year.
